"For a delayed flight, and one that most choose because of the amenities, no one apologized for the lack of amenities. A simple, “we are truly sorry” announced to everyone would have gone miles. Instead, the crew kept trying to almost conceal the total lack of available entertainment and even feign like it might “sort of work” until the last minute. I was traveling with my life partner, who intended upon and did work the whole flight (despite zero internet, even for the little time avail that we are aware of when traveling to/from PR), but also with a just turned 6 year old who had been looking forward to using “his own” screen for the last 2 weeks. Underwhelming to say the least. The crew’s apathy didn’t help."

My bag fit the meassurements and still was forced to check it (which I did not want to do as I did not want to be waiting an hour for my bag at my arrival as I had work early the next day. In addition there was airplaine traffic as it was "rush hour" instead of flying at 7:45 we departed almost at 9pm!!!! Have to pay for food Quality of tv monitors very poor And in an uncomfortable position No movie options No wifi although stated the aircraft has Non functioning electrical plug"
Pros: "The American Airways gate agent was very helpful fixing the problem that British Airways created. She went out of her way to get me booked on AA flights to catch my BA flight from London to Riyadh."
Cons: "My original flight was cancelled and the first available flight was 3 days later. BA booked me on the flight but failed to change my ticket from the original flight causing me to miss the flight from Kansas City. At the airport BA agent told me on the phone that I would have to wait 3 more days after I had already waited 3 days because BA canceled my original flight. Because of the flight cancelation I missed two days of work and because of the failure to ticket my following flight I almost missed a full week of work. The BA booking person seemed content that there was no way I could make it to Saudi prior to the end of the week. Fortunately, the AA agent was able to find a way for me to continue my trip on a later flight."

My fight from San Juan to Miami on Friday Oct. 7 was cancelled because of hurricane Matthews, since I didnot buy a roundtrip with AA they did not reimburse or offer me a credit for my returning flight. I contacted AA in two ocassions and both times their personnel were impersonal and even rude to me with the whole situation. I ended up losing $250 because of choosing American Airlines. I will do my best to avoid traveling with American ever again, and I will spread the word, as well. I felt robbed, so unfair."

She wandered for about 35 minutes before I could decipher where she was at and was able to direct her by phone. The gate personnel just told her to follow everyone else. Cons: "This was an aged 737, with narrow, cramped seats and thin, hard plastic armrests. The first class seats were smaller than the Premium Economy ones I flew recently on Norwegian Air. The Economy seats were pure torture -- angled oddly in a way that forced your back to curve, with zero legroom even in the Economy Plus section. I tried putting my purse behind me in an effort to alleviate back pain. It was a miserable trip. In contrast my short flight to Santa Barbara was on a newer plane with wide, comfortable seats. There is no way they should use such an old aircraft on a 4 hour trip."

Cons: "We paid good money for first class tickets expecting to get a hot dinner meal on the flight so we had not eaten. By the time the flight was allowed to take off, the dinner onb the flight had sat too long and they were not allowed to serve it. They gave us a coupon for $20 buck to eat dinner at San Francisco airport upon arrival but of course no restaurant is open at 2:00 am."

The flight crew seemed to be extremely put off by the whole scenario and couldn't seem to keep their displeasure professionally under control. I ended up volunteering to move because the passengers who caused the problem refused to bend. For all the crew's displeasure, they didn't handle the passengers, the passengers handled them."

They had no means of looking after the contents. Was I suppose to carry my content???This was ever so frustrating since the suitcase was brand new. Then the lady told me that my warranty on the bag will cover the damage. It was obvious she was not willing to help and did not have a clue what she was doing thus I just logged the complaint and had by suitcase sorted out the San Francisco Airport. They were very helpful."

The luggage check in is no longer a service a customer is provided if 1) I have to pay to check one in. 2). I have to lug it around with me only to have no place to put it. 3) the amount of time it takes to get off and on the plane because the line backs up while everyone waits on prior passengers to get their luggage into or out of the overhead (some are too short, too weak, ot placed their overhead ten rows away). Yikes!"

No update. The supervisor truly didn't even know what was going on. An HOUR AND A HALF later, the supervisor said, "I think your bags are still on the plane. We're short staffed, so another supervisor and I will go help unload them" Seriously? At what point did unloading bags become optional? We finally got our bags, and I'm the one who finally told the supervisor that bags from Kansas City were beginning to arrive. She announced it to the rest of the grumpy crowd. It was much worse with the cranky kids waiting on their strollers and carseats. I fly this route often. I arrived home AFTER I usually do on the much later Southwest and United flights. Just as I'm about to close my eyes, your stewardess gets on the PA and starts hawking Frontier credit cards for 20 minutes. If that wasnt bad enough, she had the audacity to shove an application in my face and remind me 'its the best credit card in the industry!' The credit card pitch and "buy 3 get 1 free' happy hour offers made the flight feel more like a sad Panama City spring break than a return flight after a long business trip. Alas! We landed at ORD 'on-time' which is always good for Frontier's stats. Unfortunately, we sat on the tarmac for 30+ minutes waiting for someone to man the sky bridge. Oh, and it was a nice touch deplaning in the international terminal returning from a Kansas City flight. Long story short, Frontier is now in the same category for me as Spirit Airlines. Make sure you bring your own, and be sure you know how long you can be comfortable on a flight that feels more like a long distance bus than an airline. That said, if you can get away with what you can carry in a small backpack and you aren't bothered by the possibility of cancellations or delays then nothing beats the price of a Spirit flight. The flight attendants and other staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and improvements have been made in their on-time record. Spirit is low cost, low frills. You get what you pay for, and if all you're paying for is transportation this is a good option."

The topping on the cake was a cancelled flight getting home Ft. Lauderdale to St. Thomas. The 1250pm flight was delayed to 6pm due to weather even though several other flights were flying that same route at that time. Then the 6pm flight was cancelled due to weather. It was the lack of professionalism, accommodations and communications that followed that were horrendous. They would not address the group directly so we had to find out from the people at the front of the line trying to rebook that there were no seats available until Saturday and Sunday. It was Weds. They were not going to accommodate us in any way with the exception of refunding us for that leg. In my case that would have been a little over $100. Flights on other airlines were over $700. Families who could not afford that cancelled their vacations to St. Thomas. People, like myself, that were simply trying to get home got booked on Sunday flights. They put us on stand by but were unwilling to give us seats that were available. Finally, on Friday with making enough fuss and talking to the right people they reluctantly gave us seats. It appeared that because we had seats on Sunday that we were in no way a priority. Very disappointed, mostly for everyone who was trying to visit my island and said they will never come here. Because of this I was placed next to a 12 year old girl by herself in the very back row, thankfully the crew had enough sense to make sure to not let a grown stranger be in this position and moved me to a different seat, but had they allowed free seat choices, she could have sat next to her family and there would never be an issue. If you want a beverage on the flight and didn't pick up your own ahead of time, it will run you $3 while every other airline will give it to you as a complimentary service - meaning no charge. Their website touts that you're saving money on the flight cost by them charging these excessive fees, but I literally only saved $10 from the next highest flight price, ultimately running me $45 extra. Terrible business model."

Cons: "Horrible attitude of one stewardess . She didnt want to give me a magazine because there were only 3 left when she cheerfully asked another passenger before me if she would like one. Also, when she was waiting for a passenger to fill out her credit card bonus miles, she felt she was waiting too long and rolled her eyes and just walked away. The seats were very minimal on the padding and uncomfortable. I sat in between 2 large men and had to cross my arms to keep them off of them."
