Cons: "The ONLY thing I hate about Turkish Airlines is the necessity to go through security in Istanbul when you're in transit on an international flight. Not only do you have to go through security again - with the serious chance of missing a connection - but if it's a flight to the USA, there is serious additional security at the gate. Surely this is enough."

Cons: "To whom this may concern: I am writing to express my absolute dissatisfaction and poor experience with the customer service and lack of working amenities on flight #TK11 leaving Istanbul into New York City, JFK. It was sadly a horrible ending to my trip and left me with a very unfortunate impression of Turkish Airlines. Less than an hour into the flight I spoke with a flight attendant making him aware that the USB port was not working so I was unable to charge my phone the entire flight. In addition, the wifi was not working. This is a huge problem because I planned on working remotely that day and my job was under the same presumption. The attendant blamed my phone and did not take my word that I was unable to connect until I insisted further and another passenger in front of me turned to my rescue and agreed with me stating the wifi was spotty and only worked for a short period of time until ultimately shutting off. The attendant did not apologize but said he would check on the port and the wifi and would get back to me. I followed up several times and he fed me the same lines until I grew frustrated that I was being completely ignored all while losing a day's work. During the last 20 minutes of the flight I decided to finally walk to the back of the plane and follow up for the last time with someone else. I explained the situation to the other attendant who seemed as though this was the first time he was hearing about this issue and he spoke to his chief who gave me a customer feedback form to fill out. No one offered me a different window seat to fix the port problem or even Miles Plus points for the inconvenience even though I requested it. I have never felt more disrespected and dismissed on a flight before this experience. As a star alliance member (CX765361), I frequently fly for work and personal trips and out of loyalty and assurance that I would be able to fulfill my work duties remotely given the features this airline promotes. I chose Turkish Airlines because it was apart of this program. This experience did not uphold the company's reputation and by flying with Turkish Airlines I completely missed a full day's work, deadlines and was behind when I physically returned to work. For the inconvenience, stress, disrespect and empty promises, I am requesting that Turkish Airlines reimburse me the portion of that flight. Best, Rachael"

For example, they rescheduled our flights but did not confirm or ticket our flights. They should use all resources to get us home but won't let us fly on Star Alliance code share flights."

Also, the touch screen wasn't working properly but after a few trial and errors, I realized that I could use the remote as an alternative to the touch screen."

Cons: "The server handling my section of the aircraft seemed slower and less experienced, but this did not have a significant impact on my experience. The temperature in the cabin seemed to fluctuate quite a bit and my entertainment screen froze and seemed to shut down halfway through the flight."

Cons: "My connecting flight was cancelled twice then delayed. I ended up missing my connection in Istanbul and having to overnight there. Turkish Airlines did provide hotel accommodation to passengers in similar situation, however only after wondering around the airport for over an hour to find the TK hotel desk and waiting for an additional hour to be assigned a hotel room and be transferred there, only to learn that I had to check out within two and a half hours after checking in to be at the airport 4 hours before the flight departs. When I finally arrived at the airport, I had to go through a security screening (because I was not suspicious for having entered the country and exiting only 5 hours later). When all of that was done, I approach the check in desk and asked if my seat can be changed, as I had spent the previous 2 days trying to get on my connecting flight, spending over 8 continuous hours at an airport and having had a nightmare night. I asked for an exit row seat or anything in the front of the plane. I was literal told that if I did not like the seat given I did not have to fly. I took the seat originally assigned and spent 11 and a half hours sitting next to a toilette on the airplane with a crying baby next to me and in front of me. To top it all, it took 2 hours to get my luggage once arrived at JFK. I usually love traveling on Turkish airlines and I understand not all of the above is directly depending on them, but considering how awful the entire experience was and how little I asked to be happy, I found them to be extremely unaccommodating on this occasion."

We did not accept the conditions offered to us as one wheel chair operator had to push 3 passengers and I had to wait for him to return to me after two people were brought to their gates. My Husband had to wheel me in to my gate."

Cons: "Arrived to the airport over 2 hours early and was told that my husband and I were put on standby because Air France overbooked the flight. I told them this was unacceptable - we had purchased a ticket and had seats reserved. And, typically if a flight is overbooked, the airline will offer a later flight option to everyone at the gate with an incentive to change it instead of randomly choosing passengers to bump off. They were rude and unapologetic and instead of putting us on the next flight 2 hours later, they made us stand at the counter for over an hour until they waited for all the other passengers to check in. Then 45 minutes before the flight took off, they told us that 2 seats opened and we would need to run through security and to the gate in order to get it on time. They also didn't have seats next to each other -- so the window and aisle seats that we had reserved were given away and we both had middle seats on opposite ends of the plane. Even though they acknowledged that we did everything right and they chose us at random, Air France was completely unprofessional and rude throughout the entire process."

(on our initial flight on this route they had showed a very violent movie not at all appropriate for our young children to be exposed to, and then the second was too long for the flight and was cut off before it ended) I appreciated that they also had a vegetarian meal option available even if you had not pre-ordered. We were able to board the plane through a ramp and didn't have to go up stairs. Lost baggage was delivered the next day. SA uses a lost bag logistics company in Nairobi that only has one attendant and computer in baggage claim. So it takes a very long time to enter in one's lost luggage claim when there are several needing to file."

When I reached at New York they said your laws (south african airways) does not allow a person to have carry on bag and laptop bag. At this time I had already extra lagguage which I paid $200 and they told me to pay another $200 dollars for carry on bag. They were so rude to me they told me to leave the bag if I do not have money. I was stranded. I tried to tell them that I boarded two flight which they did not charge me. They said the flights has different laws. But when I was going to New York i used the same flight with carry on lagguge and my laptop bag. So I paid $400. When I entered the flight I was shocked to find that almost everyone had a carryon bag. I felt that they did that to me because I was black and they wanted to find advantage on me. I was so stressful because I had no where to go. I used Delta flight when i was coming to new york but I have never experienced this charges. Now international flight experiencing this horrible situation. . True paying $400 because I had carry on bag?? Am still stressful they took a lot to me. They did not gave me receipt. I asked them to give me receipt all what they were answering me was like "just go." I have never been in a such situation. That is why I said I do not have appetite of boarding South African airways again. Is it true that your laws doesn't allow people to have carryon luggage? If it is true why some customers had the carry on luggage?? my carry was small it was not 23 pounds. Am still feeling pain for what they did to me. I know the name of the woman who was rude. If you treat passengers like that, there will be no good. The complain customer."

Cons: "Poor connection in JHB - Immigration at O R Tambo chaotic and took more than 95 minutes. Nearly missed this connecting flight to Cape Town. Literally ran from terminal A to B with my on board luggage over my shoulder. I had rechecked my main bag for the domestic flight but, nevertheless, it was left in JHB and had to be forwarded on a later plane. The folks meeting me in Cape Town had to wait an extra hour at the airport to collect it. Very unsatisfactory. As the national airline, SAA should pressure O R Tambo into improving their terrible immigration services."

There was a man in a row in front of me who needed to lie down during our 10-hour flight, but rather than graciously re-seating others in his row so that he could lie down (which would have been easy given that there were numerous empty seats), they yelled at him and told him that he would have to sit upright because other passengers "paid for those seats." The other passengers in this man's row resolved the issue by moving to empty seats of their own volition, but the crew's attitudes and behavior - especially yelling - made for an unpleasant experience. Additionally, the crew balked at responding to requests that are a normal part of their job, such as providing water. Finally, I had $200 worth of items stolen out of my checked baggage, which I discovered upon arrival at my final destination."

I don't physically fit in a cramped regular seat, too tall. Getting a transfer pass printed in Johannesburg was a nightmare too, with three priority agents handling literally thirty requests in the time it took the regular agents to handle three. Also, the on-board video system was broken, with one screen in my row not working and two more with the vocal channel not working."

Why, e.g., didn't anyone go along the queue handing out numbers so people could get food then reclaim their place in line? Why weren't we told, ditto, how long this mess would take to clear up? why weren't we offered o/n stays, etc, etc. Could have done an awful lot better if some manager had spent two minutes thinking!!"

If you don't book directly with an airline, you may suffer the same fate as me! This was an almost $1,300 dollar learning experience. Do not use third party online booking agents! You do not have the same protections as dealing with the airlines directly."

Cons: "The flight was originally delayed by 30 minutes.. reasonable considering the high winds in both NYC and Toronto. Things started going wrong after we boarded the airplane and then were told the flight crew had not yet arrived from LGA. There is simply no excuse for airlines not keeping sufficient standby crew capacity to minimize these issues. This is a clear case of the airline under staffing at the expense of its customers. By the time the flight crew arrived we were just barely able to make the 8:45 wheels up time for our clearance. The flight to LGA was uneventful until we landed. We were then told our gate was occupied by another plane, a delay that was initially forecast to be a few minutes turned into what seemed to be close to an hour. As a result, I arrived home to my Manhattan apartment at least two hours later than I should have. Flight delays happen, I accept them when they are for reasons that cant be avoided... I look for other airlines (such as united) when they occur for entirely preventable reasons and result in back pain from being trapped in an airline seat for 3+ hours instead of the 1hr 15 or so I should have been stuck in the seat."

I then proceeded to change to another seat."

I asked the flight attendant about it and he said that the plane was just old and it would cool off eventually. It did, about 20 minutes before they cut the air down again for landing. By the time I got off the plane I was nauseated from the heat and stale air. It will be a long time before I fly United again if this is any indication of the condition of their planes."
