Cons: "The boarding process is quite confusing with all the different categories of people prior to the actual listed "zone" boarding. As an example, if you have a "Zone 2" boarding pass, you think you will be second to board when in reality that means you are second to last to board. After those who need extra time, those with small children, active military, premier, whatever.... all that covers about 2/3 of the passengers. Then of course there's all the stepping over those who already boarded which seems to slow the process overall. It would be better to ask these questions when making your reservation. Then, the zones would be appropriate based on how you made your reservation to begin with."

The flight itself felt like an older 737-800 while it had power there were only two and the two others in my row snagged them. I was in Delta Comfort and have to say the extra leg room isn’t a lot."

You get what you pay for. The plane was dirty and the seats were awful.
Nightmare airline. Avoid Avelo. Understaffed at check-in with long, slow lines. Inexplicably had two flights and only one plane. Not weather or maintenance related apparently. One was supposed to go to Myrtle Beach and one to Orlando. I imagine someone thought it would be better to fly the available plane to Myrtle Beach and back and then go to Orlando since that round-trip was shorter. This didn’t account for the human factor of an end-of-week Orlando flight being 85% Disney passengers and putting the flight on a six-hour delay in New Haven airport… which, if you’ve been there, is tiny and has nothing to do for 50 kids excited to get to Disney. This delay was announced at the time of departure. No one realized before the time of departure there was no plane on the ground? And no one thought… hey I think the Myrtle Beach crowd might be a better one to have wait if we’re going to make a choice here (mind you the initial inbound plane was coming from Orlando and supposed to be out aircraft… they literally said let just grab this plane because it’s here to get this other group out at the last second). There is/was zero customer service desk for Avelo in HVN and there were no updates/announcements throughout the day. Plane still gets back late and we finally leave. No wi-fi on these planes, no snack or even water. I know this is budget airline, but expected at least a water after 8 hours of travel day. This should have been offered in terminal too. We land… hooray. Would you believe there is no ground crew to get the plane in to the gate… for 27 minutes. 27 minutes!!! At this point the rental car center is closing in 10 minutes, kids on the plane are crying again, and everyone is talking about how they’re never flying Avelo again. Finally get off. Bags are out at baggage claim right away (finally something right?), but they’ve stopped the carousel immediately and there is no baggage service rep. People are climbing over the carousel to get to the far side (if you’ve ever been to MCO you’ve seen it) because obviously they just stopped it immediately once all the bags were out. This airline is a dumpster fire. Icing on the cake was that while everyone was stuck in HVN, they were setting up for a celebration of their millionth passenger tomorrow. I bet 995,000 of those will never fly the airline again. Don’t fly Avelo. You’ve been warned.
Airline was the only available airline during the Southwest cancellation. It was easy to book. Lowest available fair. Convenient airports. Everything was great. Problem was, they didn’t release what gate flight was departing. The woman at the ticket booth didn’t know which terminal they were boarding and wanted me to wait in 30+ minute line versus telling me to look for flight kiosk. Burbank gate was packed. Otherwise the flight was perfect!!
Barely room for the tray table to come down. Clearly a budget airline that overcharges for every additional service.
It was a smooth and short flight and the pilot got us to our destination early. Had it been a longer flight, a snack and drink would have been nice. But this flight was perfect. Thank you.

I emailed American Airlines last week but hadn’t gotten a response yet so when they announced that we would exit by stairs, I was almost in tears as I gathered my belongings. To my surprise, American Airlines had a ramp for us to use. I don’t know it it was a coincidence or if they responded that quickly knowing I was on the plane through todays’s technology. This is when they informed me that the flight was cancelled and we were rebooked on the 9pm flight (Mind you, this is 12:30p and I have a 2 year old with me). Boarding counter lady was obnoxiously strict about not letting our carry-on bags to be carry-on. She made us test them in the size device and said they were too big, even though they could easy be pushed into the space, and regardless of the fact that we just flew on an American Airlines flight with them as carry-on and were only on a layover with them! Regarding the previous AA agent who let them be carry-on, she said "shame on them." Complete opposite of the positive experience we had with her counterpart in Phoenix. ಠ_ಠ"

Cons: "The American Airlines staff assured us that if we got stuck in DC we would receive hotel vouchers. Not only did we not receive hotel vouchers but we were denied access to our rescheduled flight the next day and forced to rent a car to get us from DC to Massachusetts in time for our event. This "misunderstanding" cost us 2 days of our trip and an additional $500 all together. I have never been more disappointed by an airline in all my years of travel! If we'd been told the truth from the beginning we would of rescheduled the flight for the following day from our original destination and saved ourselves 2 headaches and a ton of money."

When I arrived shortly to the gate it indicated that the flight had been cancelled. I was assigned to the flight before which was delayed. We were not served beverages because we were told that the ride www short. I observed the flight attendant talking abruptly to other passengers When we arrived in DC, we were told that another plane was parked at our gate. We sat on the runway for almost an hour. I was told when I arrived that my bag had been accidently sent to Charlotte. Unbelievable!!"
