Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Flight was on time"
Cons: "Very rude crew, I asked for water and I was told to get and help myself"
Pros: "Crew was a top notch, very focused and carrying. I am loyal lufthansa fan and been flying with them with more than 20 years."
Cons: "Guys, we need to do something with these outdated business class seats, infotainment system. Omg, last century, movie selection bottom poor :( We are always playing catch up game in terms of interior. How long it took you to offer padding & decent blankets in business."
Pros: "Short flight, left and arrived on time."
Cons: "Lufthansa in Frankfurt is a nightmare. Gates are very far apart and Lufthansa scheduled layovers are very short. We were running close to 2 km from one end of the airport to other with little kids barely making our flights. Boarding was on tarmac even for 747, once in rain once in 40C degrees."
Pros: "Free wine!"
Pros: "The crew were very pleasant. Real humans; they paid attention to my daughter, gave her toys to play with and were ever so responsive."
Cons: "The entertainment system was very unresponsive. Sitting was really cramped."
Pros: "Food and service were phenomenal, and the seats were very comfortable."
Cons: "Gate agents were joking and laughing during pre-board, and the entire plane attempted to board at once."
Pros: "Love to fly Lufthansa, I never had a bad experience with them"
Pros: "Timeliness of flight"
Cons: "My Tv screen Headphone plug was not working. Also, by the Time i got my food, there was onot vegetarian option available. I’m not vegetarian!"
Cons: "Boarding was a zoo as the system was down -not very organized either. There was one crew member who was extremely rude and even as people boarded by her section did not greet people. Skipped a few rows with drinks and then told them there was no time to bring even a glass of water. Fortunately another crew member (who we also asked as they went by) brought water to those she had skipped who wanted it. My TV monitor was not working. Aging planes - need a thorough cleaning. The announcements were garbled and very difficult to hear."
Pros: "Relaxed trip. We were well cared for. Again very good staff"
Cons: "Boarding was a free for all. My seat was near the front of the plane but the crew directed me to enter at the back of the plane. There were people entering from both the front and the back, meaning people were stuck trying to get past each other in the tight aisle. It was difficult to find space in the overhead compartments for carryon luggage due to people bringing too much stuff - the crew should have stepped in and helped. The food was a bad chicken sandwich with condiments that I could not eat."
Pros: "Nice crew, big selection of movies/entertainment"
Cons: "Extreme distance to walk in Frankfurt. Flight delayed, long wait for our luggage."
Pros: "In this day of continuous service cutbacks Lufthansa has managed to keep amenities that make long flights bearable. The boarding was early and efficient. Meals were decent and plentiful. Hot hand wipes were provided. Hundreds of video entertainment options and fairly friendly English speaking flight attendants. I recommend paying the small upcharge to choose seats with extra legroom. totally worth it on the long haul"
Cons: "Be there early. They board early"
Pros: "It is so nice to flight on board a plane were the staff knows what to do."
Pros: "Crew was excellent and many passengers were as well. Really commend cabin crew for their excellent work on a full flight."
Cons: "A bit cramped and I really didn't like the people in front of me who reclined in coach. The cabin crew got them to put up their seats for the food service, but otherwise there was nothing they could do. Can't we just tell people that coach doesn't have the room to recline. Also, you guys are German, can't we at least board by rows?"
Pros: "Getting a text alert so I didn't waste my time going to the airport"
Cons: "The fact that Sunday morning my flight was cancelled Saturday night with no apparent reason or explanation given."
Pros: "Second leg of an overseas flight still business class nice service tired from overnight first leg"
Cons: "As me ruined in the first leg they lost my luggage and eight hours later they have no idea where it is. After paying over 2000 bucks for a business class flight that really put a damper on things."
Pros: "Nothing at all"
Cons: "I had to wait in line for over an hour to get a ticket to replace the one I missed because of how late the first flight was. As with all my Lufthansa experiences, it was frustratingly slow"
Pros: "Good snacks"
Pros: "The crew was extremely responsive, inviting, and constantly walking about the cabin to see if passengers needed juice or water. The boarding, for such a large flight, was pretty smooth."
Cons: "The small screens for entertainment need to be updated. It took mine a few minutes into the flight before I could access all of the entertainment options. Additionally, the touchscreen was very difficult to navigate, as it jumped between non-responsive and too sensitive throughout the flight. Furthermore, the headphone jack should be updated, so that passengers can use their own headphones without an adapter. The headphone audio setup at my seat did not work very well."
Pros: "Great crew, smooth boarding. The dinner was fine, salmon on rice, salad, cheese and desert, of good quality when compared to typical airline food. The breakfast was ok, fruit, muffin and ok cereal bar, too carb-heavy though. The entertainment offered my options. I particularely enjoyed the "Deep-Sleep" relaxation audios which indeed helped me to get some shut-eye during the overnight flight that left the East Coast late afternoon."
Cons: "The comfort in the economy class is mediocre at best. We had more space on the inner-German connection, see next review, than the international flight. The beverage service was skimpy. Flight arrived Dusseldorf on time and then spend 20 minutes on the ground, waiting for a gate, resulting in a scramble to reach our connection."
Pros: "Service was excellent. Boarding fast and efficient, but would be better if the grouped."
Cons: "I am only 6 ft but knees hit the seat in front. Tray table hits my stomach even without the recline on front seat. Woman across aisle from me couldn't get out of her seat when the person in front reclined. This should just be illegal, period! Food was not very good. Entertainment options was limited."
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Cons: "when seats recline in economy you can barely get in and out of a seat"
Pros: "the seat was cool, txting home while flying was nice. charging phone is always great"
Cons: "seat was tough, food was not fabulous..."
Pros: "Crew attention"
Pros: "Seats were ok for a short flight."
Pros: "On time"
Pros: "Crew was very courteous and efficient"
Cons: "Seats were too small. I noticed my neighbor was a fat big woman and she was occupying part of my seat and arm rests so I couldn't move because she was almost on top of me. It was a very unconfortable journey."
Pros: "Pretty much everything. A joy after the Condor flight"
Cons: "What's not to likr?"
Pros: "I just love flaying with Lufthansa Airlines"
Cons: "I find that bigger airplanes are more organized than the small ones."
Pros: "Good plane"
Cons: "No entertainment on board of the aircraft"
Pros: "The planes of United Express are shabby. The service is unreliable. This was the last flight to Cedar Rapids from Chicago on the 14th. It left on time, which I regard as a miracle. That flight is chronically late or canceled. So I felt very lucky, especially after a long flight from Israel. The crew was nice however."
Cons: "I have already indicate that in part. The planes are shabby and the seats are fairly uncomfortable. The good thing about this particular flight is that the person at the gate who organized the boarding, changed my seat to one where there was no one else sitting next to me."
Pros: "Staff was friendly and attentive"
Cons: "First of all, the boarding took an hour longer than it should have been so we all sat in the plane dripping with sweat, because it was 100 degrees in Houston and the plane didn't have A/C on until we took off. Food was not good, some mysterious meat they called beef stew and veggies with strange texture. We ended up drinking more since the food was bad. The entertainment choices were OK but the equipment was a bit ancient, my husband's screen ( we sat in the front where screen pulled out of the seat) was broken and was held by a duct tape(???!!!) The seats are small, I have flown with other companies on transatlantic flights and their seats are bigger and more comfortable in economy class."
Cons: "Less knee room than usual. Very cramped."
Pros: "The check in process was fast and pleasant. Boarding was fast and organized. Food and drinks were good."
Cons: "The seats were very uncomfortable for such a long flight. Simply terrible."
Pros: "Service was excellent. Planes were very nice and food was very good for airplane food. I would highly recommend flying Lufthansa. Staff was excellent."
Cons: "Service was excellent. Planes were very nice and food was very good for airplane food. I would highly recommend flying Lufthansa. Staff was excellent."
Pros: "I like the flight from LAX to Frankfurt. Everything was comfortable and great service"
Cons: "The flight from Frankfurt to TLV was a joke. I paid a big a business class ticket. The business class was the same seats as coach the only thing is they have nobody sit next to you on a middle seat . That was not a comfortable seat. That was not a business size seat .very uncomfortable . No entertainment I will never fly with Lufthansa to Israel again I'm top of everything One of my surfboards got damaged badly and I have to file a claim in the airport. Very disappointed"
Pros: "When in the air crew attentive"
Cons: "Late boarding after allowing priority customer to board, Crew then took ages to start to finish boarding and taxi , Plane sent to furtherest runway, Made little time up,"
Pros: "service was good except for 1 attendant that didn't want to be there. Entertainment choices were very good."
Cons: "Food was very poor. Chicken was rubbery and the two pasta choices tasted horrible with no meat choice other than chicken. The biggest issue was the extreme delays from Lufthansa that ate into a 4+ hour layover that I should have had at LAX instead I arrived at the opposite terminal from my LAX flight with no time to get through customs and onto the plane I missed the plane by 10 minutes and had to book a hotel that wasn't paid for because it was Lufthansa's fault and not United which then put me and my family home a full 24 hours later than was originally planned."
Pros: "Quick flight Crew efficient"
Cons: "Slight delay Food was an energy bar type candy No entertainment Seats slightly uncomfortable"
Pros: "Great crews, great amenities, good food. Best flights I've been on in a long time."
Cons: "Economy seats are tough after 10 hours. But thats what I paid for so no issues."
Cons: "Patronizing crew"
Cons: "The flight was canceled because of terrible engine maintenance problem. After leaving the aeroplane no information or structured assistance was given. If I did not have roaming and would have called to re route I would have been possibly stranded in Berlin TEGEL for more than a day."
Cons: "Nobody was cooperative to reschedule the fly for normal price we have to bay one way tickets"
Cons: "The seat from Cairo to Frankfurt was uncomfortable & the breakfast was not great."
Pros: "This flight was 11 hours and I could have lasted another 2 or so hours."
Cons: "The lady who checks paperwork for animals at the front desk with Luftansa Airlines was uninformed and didn't know what she was doing as well as unnessarily rude. MY large dog was on this flight and after several employees had looked over my forms for him she came out nowhere and threatened to not allow my dog on board due to faulty and incomplete paperwork! I instantly went into a nervous condition of the sweats and scrambled to prove her wrong. When I asked again what was wrong with my (actually legitame paperwork) she just told me that at this point it didn't matter and that she would allow me to fly even though I was at risk of quarantine aty destination. I wasn't happy about this and asked again why there seemed to be an issue and she was unhelpful, handed me a business card for the USDA and told me that I was lucky to get away with her travel mercies for my dog. I had visited a USDA certified veterinarian and she hadn't given me the opportunity to prove this. I was confused and annoyed and while the other employees could see this about me, they apologized on her behalf. I really wish I had gotten this woman's name and work station so I could follow up with her and inform her on a few things. Other than that I love working with and flying Lufthansa airlines!"
Pros: "The flight attendant was helpful in confirming that my connection gate was C14."
Cons: "I only had 45 minutes between my Washington DC flight and my flight to Frankfurt and the flight to DC was delayed by a few minutes. Because the carry-on baggage had to be checked it took extra time to get my bag after the plane landed and my connecting gate was in terminal C (I arrived at terminal A), so I barely had enough time to get there, even when walking at full speed and not stopping once along the way. This was too short of a time between the two flights."
Pros: "I liked everything about the flight. The flight crew was nice. They were considerate and cheerful."
