I understand this happens but of the employees working, only 2 were checking in bags and 3 others were just standing there chatting and talking into walky talkies. * Flight from Rome to Heathrow was late for no apparent reason, landed 45 minutes prior to our connection flight. I inquired with our flight attendant about the potential to make boarding and he said they would let us know. We landed on the tarmac and had to be bussed to the terminal. Not once after we landed did the flight crew mention one word about connecting flights. Never have I had that experience in 44 years. Additionally, there was no direction regarding priority for boarding the busses. When we finally entered the terminal, an airline employee displayed a sign calling for passengers connecting on a flight to San Diego which was taking off just 10 minutes after ours to San Jose. A choice few of these folks were driven over to their boarding gate while many of us were left behind. * When we made it the recommended "Fastrack Express" the attendant informed us that we had already been cancelled out of our connecting flight to San Jose (this was 30 minutes before take off)! We were directed to go wait in line to re-book our flights. * After an hour in line we learned that the couple behind us had already been re-booked onto that evening flight to SJ, which would have been the next out. I wonder how that happens when you are further behind in line? After waiting 4.5 hours in line. We were told that and approximately 3 other convenient flights which would have been a possibility were no longer available since we had been made to wait for so long. There were no places to sit, no numbering system, we did not eat at all that day until 11pm and that was after waiting another 45 minutes to get our passports stamped and then stupid bus ride. *We were forced to miss hosting my best friend's baby shower the next morning. We were sent on an hour long bus trip to another airport in Gatwick to sleep in a hotel for 6 hours and then return bus trip back to Heathrow only to fly into an airport which is an hour away from our home as as opposed to 10 minutes. *Not once in all that time did a manager come out and let customers know the cause of the inconvenience. The window service to re-book was haughty and entitled, rather than thoughtful and efficient. I was insulted by the lack of customer service, the shoddy organization, communication and lack common sense. The only saving grace was that they booked us on a different airline for our return flight where we received decent service. We incurred extra charges due to the change in arrival location - all around failure on British Airways. Not happy at all."

I checked in at 2 pm and waited for my 5 pm boarding call. First class was amazing! I stored my belongings without any issues. I sipped wine and dined on pasta and watched the movie Father Figures with Owen Wilson and Ed Helms. The stewardess was polite and friendly. The food was enjoyable and the passengers were friendly. The bathroom as also immaculate, I was impressed."

We got delayed by 4 hours in Chicago and missed our connection in Manchester. We had another 5 hour wait there. By the time we got to Dublin, our bags didn't also arrive. I missed my flight because even though I got to LAX two hours before the flight, I had to wait on the baggage check for two and a half hours. The attendants were texting and talking and not servicing the passengers. When I told American attendants and supervisors that I was going to miss my flight unless they got me through they were clueless and didn't care about me or any of the passengers. The entire American staff were the most disorganized and careless flight personnel I have ever seen. Them they put me on a standby flight, where I was number eight and five minutes later was number eighteen, so I missed that, too. My wife is one of the top Public Relations people in Los Angeles and we both have tweeted and posted on social media extensively about this horrendous experience. I require a full refund from American Airlines for my airfare, and if I don't receive it from you will take you to court. --Eric Red"

Pros: "I flew first class. Philadelphia airport is horrendous. I chose to fly first class to avoid lines and make flying by my lonesome go more smoothly. There are no special lines for first class there are absolutely no perks to flying first class out of Philly. The first class flight attendant was rude. They ran out of hot food by the time they got to me so I was served yogurt ... I don't eat yogurt. I waited 40 minutes for my luggage to arrive at baggage claim. The flight to Philadelphia from Tampa was a good experience. They had first class lines. The airport was cleaner. The flight attendant Steve, was kind and professional. I was served a hot lunch. I'm a diabetic and when my blood sugar went low he got me orange juice quickly. I waited maybe 10 minutes for luggage at baggage claim. However with the horrific experience in Philadlephia I may never fly American again. Definitely will never fly out of Philadelphia again. I was told by the woman who I sat next to on the way home that she hates American and usually flys Delta for her business trips."

For any flight that is longer than 3 hours, I believe the airlines should at least allow passengers to have 1 free check in. Then maybe we wouldn't be trying to carry everything on with us. Our flight to Hawaii wasn't very comfortable either. We had purchased economy plus but it didn't seem all that comfortable. Maybe because it was a smaller plane. I think it was a 737, not really sure but it had 3 seats on each side with no middle row. Food is for purchase! Outrageous."

Cons: "When I was boarding the flight from Denver to Jackson the ticket agent was extremely hostile and rude. I was carrying a back pack and a small purse strapped across my shoulder which was maybe 4"x6". He shouted at me after I had handed in my ticket and started down the gangway that my purse needed to be in my backpack. I have never heard of such a thing in all my years of travel. I complied and started to put my purse into my backpack when he shouted at me "Ms. Derbyshire get back here now! You cannot be past the counter!" Your employee was rude, hostile and made me very upset as well as the other passengers waiting to board. Later other passengers who witnessed the event told me how upset they were. Sadly this is not the first time I have had issues with United. Clearly this type of behavior is in your culture. There is no need to shout at anyone."

Did not know we were assigned to Exit row until we boarded. Our overhead bins were full with other passengers carryons. This should not be. Why can't passengers use their own overhead bins. Stewardess would not help us, she said find a spot up front, if not you'll have to check carryons. Terrible."

Also, the debits from my account said United as well as priceline taking me to United's web page to make the purchase. So of course one would think cancelling through United's site is appropriate. I'm very disappointed in United and will consider all other options (Airlines) before booking with them again. PS - United customer gave me the run around for 3 days knowing that it was their policy and they were the company who's keeping my money. Absolutely ridiculous."
