Cons: "Turkish airlines in Istanbul this last trip was the most disorganized and rudest I've yet to experience. They were incredibly disorganized and unhelpful. It was 5am with hoards of people waiting just to go through a tiny security because they closed the entrance for international transfers. No lines and direction whatsoever. It took two hours just to go through simple sercurity. My flight gate, number, and info to Boston was not even posted on the departure screen so I almost missed my flight- I had to go multiple times across the airport to find anyone to ask. The employees were rude and unhelpful. They did not assist or direct anyone or any of the chaos and they were slow and lacked any understanding to people whose flight was ten minutes till take off. Really unimpressed and highly considering avoiding taking them again to the Middle East in the future."

Pros: "I liked the idea of offering a tour of Istanbul during long connections that Turkish airlines offer. The tour that I went on was a 2.5 hour bus ride with sightseeing from the window mostly - still it was very nice. The people organizing passengers in groups for the tour in the airport however were not so nice. When I said "I have a question", the guy literally ROLLED HIS EYES at me."

Cons: "The boarding process could have been more organized. I had a business class ticket and could not find the priority boarding line. The first ground crew member I asked was abrupt and sent me to the back of the long line. I caught the attention of a different crew member and he motioned me to the front of the line--it was a little awkward saying "excuse me" to each person that I passed. (I am not used to being a priority passenger!) Once my documents were cleared and my carry-on was inspected at the gate, it was not clear whether to take a seat or to go somewhere else."

Cons: "I was told in Vienna that I would be allowed to carry my Kindle onto my flight from Istanbul to the USA. I was not able to and had to wait in a very long line both in Istanbul and in the US. I understand the change in regulations, but it is important that all employees of Turkish airlines are aware of the change. We also waited one hour on the runway in Istanbul. Additionally, there was a small section of the plane which received food roughly an hour later than the rest of the plane. I was on this section, and was uncomfortably hungry by the time I received food."

The business-class cabin was only about 40% occupied, and yet the crew seemed unable to provide quick service. As I say, this is not normally the case, but it was a little disappointing."
Pros: "Electronics confiscated from passengers (all passengers, no profiling or consideration for who is dangerous and who is not, which is NOT WHAT I LIKED, I hated it, this political correctness, so everyone "suffers the same", while bad guys still have all the freedom to do terrible things. It is not a security, it is a stupid put on!) but at least our electronics were carefully packed and delivered to Boston. It took whole hour afterwards to retrieve them!!! Terribly inefficient."
Cons: "Stupid, completely idiotic security, caused, of course, by our completely idiotic president Trump rulings, but... Turkish air workers took this stupidity up to an unseen levels. I fight stage 4 cancer, it requires timely medicine. I was not allowed to take on board several critical supplements because they were either in powder, granulated or liquid form (all in their original medical packaging), my custom made crocheting hook was labeled as a dangerous weapon and I was not allowed to take it on board either, so I had no means to alleviate my air flight anxiety. they were going to confiscate and throw it away. Cold "sorry for your loss" was their only reply. They tried to scare me by calling police. Extremely impolite personnel. It took almost two hours, when TA security threaten that I won't fly, to make them pack this little darn crocheting hook together with my iPad. Funny that food on board comes with real metal silverware, forks and knifes included, which are far more convenient and dangerous if I was to use it as a weapon in comparison to a hook (3 inch wooden handle and 1 nah of a metal shaft ending with a small blunt hook, thin - size 2). TA said they provide us with free wifi to compensate for confiscated electronics. I was not able to connect to that wifi all flight long. Movie selection is below mediocre, little choice, practically no quality. Food is bad - not appropriate for my condition at all, but of course I can't bring on board cancer-appropriate food - security labels it as a threat to passengers. No leg room at all for a medium-built lady like myself, can't imagine what thicker or taller people do to survive 9+ hours flight, seats do not recline, pull out tables are of terrible quality- very unstable, so food and drinks fall off even without turbulence, just because of no leg room our knees are always interfere with these flimsy tables. With a comfort and restrictions like I had tickets must cost not a penny over a bus or metro ride, not hundreds of $$. It took about two hours to get my suitcase too - they said our luggage had to go through a second inspection before it gets onto baggage carousel. All in all, I will avoid TA for long flights by all means. Never again. They were an huge downshift to my perfect vacation. I had to go to an emergency treatment today because of the way TA treated me yesterday. Unfortunately, I can't measure how much yesterday's abuse advanced my disease, I am disturbed and frustrated enough to go to court to bring a suit against... yet again, those imbeciles from security do have a good alibi - their actions were triggered by US government regulations."
Pros: "The service in Boston is very bad, they are not helping me, they are wasting my time, I was in the air plane and they told me to pay 80$ so they could take the rest of the luggage. Or they won't take the bag. I use Turkish airline for many years with my family and friends, but now Iam going to ruin your reputation on social media Beacause your disrespect way of dealing with your costumer"
Cons: "Flight was delayed for 1.5 hours from its scheduled departure time. Upon arrival to Boston airport, it took a long time to find gate and disembark. As a result, I missed my boat ride connection. I had to incur hotel fees and be late for my business appointment the next morning."

A huge accomplishment. They really put most of their competitors to shame."
Cons: "Only issue was that the videos kept freezing up, though they did remedy that problem. And I wish they had a foreign hub further to the west. Much as I loved the airline, I would only fly them again to Turkey or further east. It took me 22 hours door to door from Venice to Portland, Maine, when it shouldn't have been much more than half that. It's just too Far East to be a very practical option for visiting Western Europe from the US."

Cons: "Turkish airlines has the most influence over Ataturk airport(IST). Thats why I hold them partially responsible for the WiFi not working at the airport. Taxi-ing of the aircraft at Ataturk was un-smooth. Often times the engines were blasting to get the aircraft moving again."

Cons: "I understand that an airline can’t control the weather, but they can be prepared for it. We arrived hours late and found chaos. Conflicting information from staff. Lines lasting HOURS, verging on mob behavior, some passengers shouting and crying. One very good agent got us into civilized lines, but it was still awful. Later that night, we found our second flight HAD taken off, despite every single airline and airport staffer insisting that all flights were cancelled. We could have been home for New Year’s Eve instead of stuck in an airport. The next day, we still got mixed signals about how to check in. Then we found we had been given seats rows apart, despite being one booking. To be honest, we haven’t even taken this flight yet. Our rebooked flight on the following day is hours late and we’re waiting for it now. But I already know enough to post that I will never fly Turkish Airlines again."

It’s like ANA run by native New Yorkers - newish planes, really good food (including chefs running around in white uniforms with the tall hats!), solid in-flight entertainment, and no nickel-and-diming on drinks, but the staff can be cold. I would definitely fly again, especially if the alternatives are United or American."
Cons: "Turkish Airlines' hub airport, Ataturk International in Istanbul, is a chaotic, surly mess. Part of this relates to the fact that it is simply too small for the volume of traffic it handles, but I also believe airport management deserves some blame. Problems include: * Most arriving Turkish Airlines flights empty out on the tarmac, and then you are bussed to the terminal, adding at least 20 minutes to the process. Some departing flights to North America also require bussing from a distant gate. * Rescreening is inconsistent - once it was some guy standing by a door giving a cursory glance to passports of transfer passengers. Another time, hundreds of people going through a full laptops-out-of-bags-take-off-your-belts xray procedure. * Signage is terrible. Arrows pointing where to go are insufficient (such as exiting the international terminal from the transfer area) and most gates do not automatically show the next flight scheduled to depart. * Gates are shown on the main displays only 2 hours in advance max, and even then seem to change — I saw several people miss their flights for this reason. * Not enough toilets in the terminal and lounges. * Airport staff and concessions workers are surly. I would like to stress that Turkish Airlines (the dominant carrier at Ataturk) is actually pretty good when it comes to the flights themselves. But the airport experience really brings down the brand, in my opinion. My advice to those who have a long layover: Spend $25-$40 dollars to hang out in one of the paid lounges, which have more space, free food, Wi-Fi, etc. You need an oasis in a place like Ataturk."

Please keep in mind that the best flight experience for your passengers involves no babies on a plane, and work towards this goal. Especially 10 hour flights. The food and drink on Turkish Air are usually excellent. We had one meal that was only rice and peppers.. I was unusually disappointed."

Cons: "The crew was unbelievably rude. They were rude and racist.Differential treatment for Indian and other passengers (read white people) was meted and was very obvious. The crew seemed to be serving just white people. There was an attitude problem with almost all the staff. The crew needs an urgent lesson in hospitality. Food: Our menu options were some chicken and beef items. The crew served me some food without telling me what it was. As I was about to eat I realized that i was about to eat beef. I am a Hindu, I don't eat beef. I wasn't upset the crew served me beef. I am upset with what happened next. When I called her back to tell her I don't eat beef her response was "We don't have anything else " and she moved on. She never offered/served anything else. Not even a sandwich. And I was left hungry for the rest of my 10 hour flight. The 2nd meal that was served was vegetarian I assume buy I wasn't sure because the crew never told me. For most parts I was not offered anything to drink and I had to ask the crew for drinks. I travel internationally from the US every month. I go to India at least 4 times a year. However I have never been this badly treated by any airlines.Turkish airlines staff are racist which is really insane considering they are running international flights. If you don't want to serve Indians and other non-whites you should not operate out of these countries. We have plenty of other options. This was my first time travelling Turkish Airlines and there is no doubt in my mind that it will be the last."
