"Great airline with friendly staff, on time departure. Unfortunately their website is really difficult."

Pros: "The crew was very professional and courteous; inflight meal was quite good and the prearrival snack of a tuna sandwich was one of the best I have ever had."

The food was quite bad, normally I would choose the Japanese meal, however, both the Japanese and International options were poor. The staff seemed unorganized and did not follow a set protocol."

Pros: "I had a headache and I asked for getting aspirin to one flight attendant. Later on, I found out that many attendants were aware of my situation and kindly checked-in regularly if I was OK. Excellent hospitality no matter what kind of class your seat was!"

Pros: "Don't cheap out on your flights to Japan because this ANA flight from New York/JFK to Haneda was the correct way to go. Japanese-style hospitality, respect and quality of service (which is beyond the heavens) shows from check-in to landing (and even post-landing.) The in-flight meals, inspired by Japanese recipes of the Japanese destination or origin, were finely made - that goes even for Economy Class. When there was a delay that was ultimately out of their control, they made things right with post-landing arrangements. Never take any other country's airline when flying into Japan - always always ALWAYS take ANA whenever you can. (Avoid codeshares, too!!)"

Good airline but boarding especially for domestic is disorganised with poor signage etc."

If you're further back or not so tall s difficult to see which queue is correct... quite a few people (not me fortunately!) got turned away because they don't know ANA's boarding system. Also a problem with boarding at HND where the overhead monitors show BIz but not First/Diamond. As some other reviews pointed out, BBC news just didn't work. CNN worked intermittently."

The turbulence announcement was made once in english and japanese by the auto-plane service followed by the crew announcing it again in both English and Japanese. The same was done with the duty free. The plane pressure also felt very strong and cause discomfort for the wife. The movie selection was solid (but badly organized) and the TV show selection wasn't terrible. It should all be better. Come on ANA! Contact me for recommendations."

Cons: "Flight was delayed due to poor maintenance that caused issues before take off. Of course safety is important but that is why maintenance should be done routinely and prioritised accordingly. The pilot on the first delayed flight (new airplane) was clueless, his exact words "... our analysis team from midwest needs an hour to figure out whether we can fly or not" This is after we have boarded the flight. Then after about an hour of sitting in the plane, he says "rumor has it that a new plane will be towed in..." What? Why didn't they stop boarding and just get the new plane in. And I don't appreciate the emails saying flight is delayed without giving any reason for it. AA could have certainly done a better job of communicating the issue. Further the flight crew including the pilot were acting like victims. If it were an Asian carrier like Singapore Airlines, the crew would be smiling and providing assitance courteously since they represent the airlines. Not flying them again."

Get sandwiches over the meals, they are better quality. A vegetarian guy had a hard time but the crew tried to help him out. Comfort was ok for a 13 hour trip. The chairs are not really the best and my back hurt after a while. Make sure you stretch! Crew was nice except for one lady. But she wasent rude just... non responsive. Other members were fantastic though. Boarding was very painless."

Cons: "My outbound flight to Manila had an overnight layover in Japan. I asked at the luggage check-in at O'Hare International Airport if they can check it all the way through as I had planned to go outside of the Narita airport for the layover. They told me I couldn't check the luggage all the way through and that I had to pick it up from baggage claim once I land in Narita. From there I had to check-in the luggage again on the same day. When I took my luggage out from baggage claim, I tried to check-in and the counter crew told me I was given wrong information. I had to keep my luggage with me until my flight the following day. On my return flight from Manila and another overnight layover in Narita, the check-in crew at NAIA told me I could check-in my luggage all the way through, and that they also allowed this at my outbound flight to Manila. The check-in crew at O'Hare International Airport gave me wrong information."

Cons: "Where to start? How about when I checked in at the counter, I asked the check in attendant to add my FF number on my ticket. They said they'll get right to it, handed me my tickets and sent me on my way. It never happened. Not a big deal, I can request the mileage post flight, but still something. Look at my tickets, that I had booked a week in advance and specifically reserved an aisle seat. My ticket says "Priority Verification," whatever that means. Turns out it means you don't have a seat, and you get the worst of the worst. So what seat is the worst? How about the middle seat in a row of 5. The middle in a row of 5, on a transoceanic flight... What kind of airlines has 5 in a row? The guy next to me spent $300 for his ticket, I spent $1200, for the same flight, and this is the kind of seat I get? The plane felt like it was straight out of the 90's, carpeted center walls, old seats, tiny tv's. Overall, a plane that felt had not been updated in decades. Took 20 minutes for a flight attendant to respond to the flight attendant sign. This wasn't during beverage or food service, just a normal time at cruising altitude. They also don't have eye masks. Every other transoceanic flight I've been on has them provided in the seat pocket, American Airlines doesn't even have them on the plane! Economy class has no USB or power outlets, the in flight entertainment is about a 5" screen in probably 260p resolution. Decent selection of movies, but you have to join the movie in progress or wait approx 10 minutes for the next movie to start. Legroom was okay unless you had one of the entertainment boxes in your way, then that takes up 30% of your space. Some of the tray tables do not have cup holders, on the top, bottom, or anywhere on it. Also my table was tilted, so every time I put a cup on it, it slid right off. Seems like a minor complaint, but eating dinner and fighting a sliding cup the whole time is a pain. Dinner and breakfast tasted decent, but you can tell American is cheap on the food. Most airlines will give something like a main course, a bread roll, fruit cup/salad, juice, small dessert. American gives you the main course and a fruit cup and that is all. Crappy utensils too. Overall, if I had paid maybe $200 for the flight, I wouldn't have any room to complain, but because American holds the government carrier contract for FY17, I had to fly on them at exorbitant cost, and would never recommend them to anyone."

I got up later to go to the bathroom , also I have overreacted bladder and she told me in same rude talk go back to my seat that if I couldn’t see that the do not get up signs were on. I felt literally she yelled at me . Never asked me if I needed help , or just wait a little . I literally pee in my pants"

Pros: "I always feel merely "tired" after the Denver-Tokyo flight on UA's 787 Dreamliner. On all other aircraft, I always feel "exhausted" after an intercontinental flight. The increased humidity and pressure make an incredible difference. As usual, I paid a ~$300 premium to take this flight (HKG-NRT-DEN and back) rather than cheaper HKG-SFO-DEN or HKG-SEA-DEN routings, which feature 777 or A330 aircraft."

They get their jobs done, and I feel safe with them, but I don't look forward to interacting with them. I wish ANA would operate NRT-DEN!!!"

Cons: "Hello I would like to submit a formal complaint. I could not complete early check in yesterday due to website maintenance. I arrived to the LAX airport on time today and due the misdirection of the ticket attendant I wasn’t able to select a seat, which I tried to do online approx 24 hours ahead of time but the site was not working or down. I’m a larger person with spinal impairments and unfortunately I was given a middle seat. This will undoubtedly cause significant pain during and after this long flight. I’m very displeased with this and I would like to request a credit or like compensation for my trouble and suffering. Advance thanks for your understanding. "

Cons: "The food was so so - I left very hungry (which is not so good for a diabetic). One of the toilets overflowed and soaked the carpeting by the bathrooms. There was an out of order sign on the door - but no sign indicating the rug was soaked. I left my shoes by my seat - had to throw my socks away. Movies & entertainment was mediocre."

Pros: "Arrived early. Nice that no weight restriction on carry-on baggage. Too large a fraction of passengers in Boarding Group 4."
Cons: "Size restriction on personal item was smaller than other airlines, causing me to use a smaller backpack than I would have preferred. The entertainment screen was not very nice: hard to move cursor arrow to buttons and to press; no evident way to increase brightness."

Cons: "Slight delay, entertainment system appears dated, boarding can use more organization, overhead bin space can be at a premium due to people trying to bring too much aboard (number of carrying) and they can run out of the popular food choice"

Cons: "The flight was delayed and ran out of overhead bin space (no attention paid to size or number. The boarding groups (particularly between 3/4) was a mess in terms of organized lines."

Pros: "The food was good, the flight was comfortable, the flight attendants were friendly."
Cons: "There was a boarding agent at SFO who was extremely rude. I went to the counter to ask a question, and he blatantly ignored me. Finally, I said "I have a quick question," to which replied bluntly "What is it?" I then asked whether there were TVs on the flight, and he just said "No" and turned his back to me. Extremely rude."

Pros: "I wouldnt know"
Cons: "I didnt like that I was charged almost a full month after the booking and wasnt reimbursed for ANAs fuckup"

Pros: "I got upgraded from Economy to Economy Plus without being charged a dime more. And the difference between the two classes is very noticeable! The Economy Plus seats may have an extra 3" per side and it's awesome! Plus, United partnered up with ANA for my first leg to Manila and that plane was spectacular, as was the top-notch crew!"

Pros: "Wide ranges of shows to watch"
Cons: "one of the crew members was so rude to me, confusing me and changed my seat three times in less than 15min... I also had a bite of the pancake and I instantly threw it up. There was also a very long delay and my chair would not lean back for 10+hrs. The first seat I sat on did not have a working earphone plug and the next seat I was scolded for being moved there EVEN THOUGH A CREW MEMBER SEATED ME THERE. I then proceeded to change to another seat."

Cons: "Didn't like that there was no tv access"

Pros: "I liked the power outlets that were available, as well as the USB! I have trouble sleeping on flights, but the great options for the in flight entertainment made it more than bearable. I will always choose to fly United now."

Cons: "I coudnt make an on line checked in, and i called i asked for aisle seats the gurl said yes and its checked in but when i recieved the boarding pass it was middle seat and the worst seat ever at the emergency seat, it was really small the food was terrible service was so bad ! No more united airlines for long flights."
