Then when 7pm came and went we had to continually ask at the counter, because no information was provided.. Kept being told just a few minutes until boarding and then when it was almost time to board, we couldn't because the flying crew was delayed going through security. SERIOUSLY.. wouldn't you think that after all the delays, the crew would have already been ready to board as soon as possible. For most of the passengers our delayed caused us to be at the airport for at least 8 hrs. Since they ask to check in at least 3 hrs. prior to departing... You tell me if $12 voucher is enough to hold off for 8 hrs. When a soft drink and a sandwich was at least $15.. and that was for the cheap ones. This was my first time flying Avianca and will be my last. At least AMERICAN AIRLINES gives flight vouchers even if they are only 2 hrs delayed. A $12 voucher is a JOKE.. and there were 3 of us in my family. And they acted as if they were giving you a free flight."

Cons: "I boarded the plane and made a mistake by sitting in the wrong seat and placed my hang-up bag in the overhead compartment. When I realized that my actual seat was 10 rows back on the very last row, I moved, leaving my hang-up bag near the first seat. As time passed, I heard a woman on the intercom say something about a lost "jumper". After learning that a "jumper" is a sweater, I asked the nearby airline attendant if the sweater was a navy color, like the one that I had left in the overhead. A female airline attendant came to me, carrying my hang-up bag with my sweater and repeated 4 times that I was lucky because she was about to put my "jumper" and hangup-bag off the plane and leave it in Johannesburg since no one had responded sooner!!!! I was so stunned that I could not say anything. I only kept wondering why would anyone go into the overhead and start pulling things out? Why would someone take such extreme measures and not walk down the aisle, asking every person on the plane, including the people on the back row? This type of thing could happen to anyone. Since I did not have a name tag on the bag and I live in the US, it would have been near impossible to ever find my bag again if left in So.Africa! Plus, the woman went on and on in a very rude & condescending manor when all I could do was sit in shock, wondering why she would take the time to go through the overhead and look for a hang-up bag that does not have a name tag!!!!"

First, they said maintenance couldn't find a spare tire, and when they did rob a tire from another plane, they said the delay was due to FAA paperwork. These reasons, most likely true, suggest American Airlines (British Airways sub-contracted this flight to its partner, American Airlines) was not prepared to handle such an emergency."

When watching a movie you can't simply start it when you want so if you miss show time when it started you have to begin where it is...I hope that 1st class is different than what it feels like to ride in coach because it makes me feel like steerage! I most certainly would not take this airline to Europe unless I had better accommodations because being in the coach section sucks!"
Cons: "Unfortunately, the passenger beside me a young man was over served by the flight attendant and became extremely inebriated so that when I tried to ignore him and sleep, he kept touching me, rubbing my arm and leg. The crew were aware of what was happening and tried to reprimand him. It made my flight extremely difficult and it was all because the flight attendant served him doubles of whiskey (which the passenger was drinking neat) on six occasions, two bottles of red wine and that does not include the doubles the passenger procured for himself from other attendants. In all the behaviour of this passenger made my flight a complete nightmare and it was totally unnecessary for him to be served this much alcohol."

With respect to the Miami ticket agents, there are 3 people I want to highlight for excellent service. Denise, who courteously accommodated our family and rescheduled our flight as needed, another young lady who checked us in. She was sensitive to our party of 5 and was extremely pleasant. The check in process was chaotic at best and she helped make it a pleasant experience. The person is Diane, the manager at the Miami airport. She helped bring order to a completely disorganized check in process and ended up personally escorting us through security toe sure that we made our flight on time. Diane is an excellent leader."
Cons: "The check in process was completely disorganized, due to a cancelled flight from Miami to Heathrow the night before. And there were 3 scheduled flights already that people were checking in for as well. There had to have been at least 600+ people in line to check in, plus those from the night before. The Miami airport doesn't have kiosks for passengers to easily check in and bag drop, which doesn't make sense in such a large and busy international airport. That would have made a huge difference in this case. Also, we paid for our seats to select them prior to 24 hours and we ended up not sitting together."

There was a delay because the flight crew came from another arriving flight, so they had to go through the full pre-flight checklist. Then there was a "minor maintenance issue" that couldn't be fixed right away because it was "shift change" for the maintenance crews. Eventually they arrived and fixed whatever, while everyone was getting texts and alerts that kept delaying the departure by 15-minute intervals. Over an hour (while sitting in a warm plane) after the original scheduled departure, we left the gate, sat on the taxiway a while, then took off. Cabin crew only had cookies and drinks, no other snacks or food. All anyone got was an apology for the extended delay."

This is the worst experience I've had with an airline. No one spoken with on LATAM seemed to care. We were stranded without sleep and got no clear answer from the LATAM hotline. There was no mention of compensation for our troubles. I will not be recommending this airline to other travelers aa this has ruines my work schedule and my friend is unable to get his medicine."

The headphones provided were similar to models from the 90s (and worked just as well), there was no individual screen for entertainment, and the seats were exceedingly cramped. We missed the main event of our trip and were very disappointed. There was only 45 minutes scheduled between the two flights--in which you had to traverse the huge Madrid airport (train), and go through customs and security again. We were 5 minutes late to the gate--after being told in Miami they would hold the plane for us."

Cons: "The flight was cancelled at the last minute due to a hurricane. Both British airlines and Iberian airlines posted conflicting information as to the flight cancellation, hence affecting hotel reservations and proceeding flights. The whole process has been a nightmare. I will have serious reservations booking future flights with either airline. Very disappointed !"

Cons: "When I arrived I was greeted by a "what up." Instead of a professional "Hello." The man who helped me at MIA was rude and threw my passport in my face when he told me I needed a return ticket. After I booked another ticket for return.. I presented myself to another counter staff."
Cons: "They lost our four bags. Three were found two days later. One bag we never saw again on vacation so had to buy a fourth of the stuff a family of four had to survive in Europe for a month. Bag was eventually found and sent to our home in US. Iberia had connecting flight to Berlin so close to arrival in Madrid that we barely made it on flight and bags never did. We will never fly iberia again."

Cons: "The aircraft has air condition problem and they whole flight was extremely HOT!!!! Cabin crew paid very little attention to this until we were 4 hours into the flight and basically said there is nothing I can do. I call for the head of the cabin crew and she took 2 hours to come talk to me. I had to wait for here to come out from her flight nap in the crew quarters."
