The screen in front of my seat displayed error messages for the entire flight of 8 hours, from the time I got into my seat until after landing. I asked the crew about it before take off. Nothing they did fixed it, not could the screen be turned off completely to avoid scrolling messages for 8+hours. During the flight I was told it couldn't be fixed until after landing. In that case why wasn't it taken care of before my flight ever started? Anyone inspecting the plane properly in between the previous flight and mine would have and should have seen the same error messages on the screen I saw, and resolved it then. ''Hot'' food in the main meal was salty and lukewarm. Also irritating that flights for 3 people booked 5 months ahead of take off with no option for us to choose seats should end up with 3 separate seats at opposite ends of the plane. Should automatically assign seats together for people booking that far out, on a first come first serve basis or allow seat assignment at time of booking by the customer. This flight was about the typical experience most passengers have come to expect from companies who have too much power and really don't care about the customers they are supposed to serve. This is not a reflection of the actual crew on the flight itself, they were average, not bad, but not great."
Pros: "Again, we had heard stories of kids being separated from adults, but all family was together. Many entertainment options and friendly staff. Also, when I asked at gate, the attendant allowed our family with 3 kids ages 5, 7, 9 to board with one of the earlier groups. That helped a lot as it took the kids a little longer to get all set and we were not hurried."

Cons: "i decided to purchase a separate direct flight at a different time instead of changing my flight, only to be informed later when i tried to hop on the back end of my original flight, that they had canceled my ticket since i hadnt boarded on the front end of that flight. i had spoken to a customer service rep about my option before purchasing the extra ticket, and she did not mention that this would be an issue. then i had to pay extra to get back on my original flight."
Pros: "Seats were uncomfortable and badly maintained. Seatback stowage netting was detached and useless. There was an equipment change (new larger aircraft) I had a B (aisle seat) on the original aircraft and on the new plane my "B" seat became a middle seat. This was completely unsatisfactory."

I will plan on scheduling all my international flights with Swiss Airlines when possible. We even flew on a shorter flight with them and still received a good sized meal."

Cons: "1. Comfort: the headrest on these seats is so uncomfortable! It just props your head forward and causes a lot of neck strain. For most short haul flights, this is not a big deal, but it really makes for an unpleasant journey on the cross-country flights. Also, the four-seat middle section is so poorly designed. There is no way to store personal items under seats without invading the space of your neighbor because the metal frame supporting the row of seats doesn't match with the seats themselves. 2. Entertainment: United could not support continuous streaming of movies/TV shows for every passenger. My movie paused and froze so frequently that I gave up on finishing it and then felt like I had wasted my time. The speed and reliability reminded me of trying to watch movies on a dialup connection. It would be so much better to just have the TV screens built into the seats. All in all, United got a bad batch of planes and should try to take this into consideration when working with Boeing/Airbus on the next order."

Although we were booked on a flight the next day, it was on AMERICAN with a connecting flight. We waited in customer service line for an hour, to be told we would get only a discount on a hotel for the night. Not 100% paid for. We then waited another hour to be told our bags were already at our destination. No food vouchers. Just a goddamned headache. Horrible."

The Spanish speaking woman that pushed my wheelchair told me that I can bring my water bottles full of water through the metal detectors. I asked if she could take me somewhere to pour them out and refill them on the other side. They threw them away at the metal detector. So I had to buy a new bottle for my medicine that I have to take. You would think she would have got it by me carrying these bottles around but nope. She actually said to me that I can give her gratuity now if I wanted. I gave her $1. She then replied in a sarcastic voice " Thankyou you are soooo generous. I don't like feeling obligated to tip somebody because I am disabled and have a bullet in my head."

Cons: "United delayed the flight. This information became available about an hour in advance- well after we drove two hours (We live in Montana) to get to the airport. The attendants said / not our problem. I called United's Customer Service number to discuss ways of mediating the delay that resulted in us missing the wedding venue and entire reason we booked the $1400 flight. I again got a "not my problem" response- no the flights can be modified, no we will not provide vouchers, no we really don't care that our poor quality and service cost you and your family tremendously in time, effort, and lost memories. I know we are at the mercy of airlines, but what a painful disappointment. My experience with Delta has been better and I suggest avoiding United Airlines if other flight options exist.... Even consider a very long drive over the use of the airline."
