Then I was told that it wasn’t negotiable. Sad that they wouldn’t offer more than $400 so that one of the other 100 passengers could have agreed to change."

Cons: "On my return flight home, they wouldn't accommodate adjusting my itinerary because I wasn't feeling well. I was willing to pay change fee for 1 layover instead of the 2 layovers on my original itinerary. They wanted to charge me $700 which was greater than my original ticket. So I flew on the original itinerary at started my travels @ 7am on Monday. Flight from Bogotá to Barranquilla w/Avianca airlines was great. In Barranquilla I had a 4 hr layover, checked in w/Copa agent and he said my bag was on plane. In Panama, there was a 1.5 hr layover so I assumed no issues getting my luggage to the correct connection. The flight from Panama was delayed by 40 mins w/no explanation. We just sat on plane. They only played one older movie, plane was old and they did 1 beverage service w/meal for a 5.5 hour flight. I finally arrived back to ORD @ 12:15 am Tuesday. I waited for my luggage in baggage claim for 35 mins. It doesn't arrive and I ask attendant, who brushes me off and says this is the claim for Copa. She disappears for 30-40 mins. I finally see her walking back into international baggage claim (over an hour has passed that I've been in baggage claim) and tell her my luggage did not arrive. She asks me for my claim ticket then proceeds to say "oh yes, I was informed your bag did not make it." I'm upset because it's 1:40am and she could have saved me an hour if she would have helped me when I first asked. I also am curious how an airline loses my bag twice."

Pros: "I love the comfort in these planes and also the fact that at least they serve food, which they don't do in other airlines. The boarding wasn't good due to the stupid restrictions the US imposes on flights to the USA. We didn't appreciate the fact that the airline didn't let us know in advance that we couldn't buy drinks at the airport. That was a waste of money. The food wasn't good at all though. The coffee was terrible and so were the eggs, but at least we got something."

After the passengers got off the plane, the man at the counter came on the P.A and said it’ll be a few minutes, they’re catering the plane now from the back to the front. The flight crew still needed to get on a preform safety checks. He apologized again. Then it was 8:40, time to take off and we’re still waiting to even board. The man at the counter said again, thank you for your patience and relayed the same message, only this time the flight attendants were walking away from the gate. Around 9 some lady higher up told the man to announce that the flight crew had timed out and stand by crew was on the way to the gate, said sorry again. A little later the man says sorry, there’s a gate change. You’re going to K6 now. When we get to the new gate it’s almost 9:30pm and while we were all gathered at the gate, the flight crew that supposedly “timed out” showed up and proceeded to get on the plane. Passengers started getting mad and saying we were lied to and to just tell us the truth. Chicago PD started showing up. We finally got on the plane but it would be another 30 minutes before we moved because of issues getting our bags off the original plane. We ended up being almost 2 hours delayed."

Cons: "Without any explanation...American Airlines cancelled my reservation! I needed to be sent back to poor quality hotel for a night and take a different flight out the next morning. American Airlines was supposed to provide transportation back and forth from the hotel however a car never showed up at the hotel to pick us up and I needed to get my own taxi at the last minute (American did however reimburse me for the taxi fare at the airport). I never received an explanation as to why my reservation was cancelled and was never offered any type of compensation for such a major inconvenience. They dd ultimately waive my 25 bag fee but it wasn't very easy to even get that from them. I felt that they should have been more empathetic towards my inconvenience and offered me any type of compensation to make up for such a horrible experience. When I asked about possibly being upgraded to first class they told me absolutely not! A little graciousness can go a long way, American Airlines showed that they could not care less about my inconvenience (other than Rodrigo at the counter the next morning who actually showed he was truly sorry for the situation and at least ended up moving me to a row with more legroom). Other than this, I was extremely disappointed with this experience and how it was handled."

Cons: "Gate agent said there was a maintenance problem that just needed maintenance to sign off. Over heard maintenance work while boarding that could not get message on computer of problem. Pushed back and sat on tarmac for 10-20 minutes as pilot said they worked through maintenance issue."

Pros: "I have no praise for American Airlines. We didn't board our flight because we would have landed in a flooding, evacuating area with gale force winds. Despite this unexpected natural event, we were unable to cancel our trip. I paid American Airlines more than a month's rent and could not recover this cost."

When there are hurricane and flooding conditions at a destination, CUSTOMERS should have the choice whether they want to CANCEL or reschedule. Simply providing a small window of time for a fee-free flight change to the same destination is not acceptable. The flooding is still not alleviated inany areas and the change period is over."

We had long layover on return flight in Toronto and airport and Air Canada personnel were not very helpful or accommodating. When we asked for a suggestion on where we could go in the airport to kill several hours (eating, drinking, watching TV), were were told by many that the airport is bad and we're given conflicting or poor answers. Intimately the advice given put us having to go thru security and Custims again (even though we already had) and that process was extremely disorganized and time consuming."

Cons: "on march 13/ 2016 booked my tickets on kayak.com so end up getting it with vayama.on july 28 missed my flight for a family raison called vayama and explained the situation they said they will help me just they need to confirm with the airlines (air canada) and they will give me new tickets.no body called me back ,called air canada said: we have ticket but you need to get it from vayama.called vayama again he said sorry about that i will let everyone know and he promise me that i will get help a.s.a.p.did't hear from them left with my wife and two kids in morocco for a week end up buying new tickets from laufthansa."

I will NOT ever use this service and especially not the American airlines staff, crew or phone staff. This did not only affect my day poorly, but also impacted my family and disrupted my finances. Cons: "The flight was delayed. Ok, that happens sometimes and it annoying but part of air travel. The real kicker was that once we were on the airplane, they announced that seatback entertainment and wifi were not working, so there was no entertainment on the 4hr+ flight. Additionally, because the seatback entertainment wasn't working, the ability to control your own reading light was disabled, so the cabin lights were left on the entire late-night flight, making sleeping quite difficult. I understand that sometimes these things happen, but there are ways to mitigate- the gate agent could've told us that there would be no seat back entertainment while we were waiting at the gate delayed so we could've downloaded something, but they chose not to for reasons I can only hypothesize. Combine all this with the terrible 3-4-3 seat configuration and you're left with a terrible experience. Will never take this particular flight from Chicago again. It was cramped and one of the worst flights I've taken in recent memory."

Cons: "At security check in I told the agent I could not bend down to take off my shoes. I have 7 ruptured discs in my back. The agent laughed then got angry and told me you put them on this morning you can take them off. I told him I could try if seated. My wife puts my shoes on in the morning because I can't. Another agent then shuffled me to a bench to take off my shoes. The security check point looked make shift I don't think they had the proper equipment to swab my shoes so they took it out on me. completely unacceptable and against federal Ada laws. All of this reflects poorly on the airlines using this terminal. This trip was my first united airlines experience i usually fly delta or jet blue. I will not fly United again and will tell everyone I know to avoid United at all cost."

Most people are very understanding of the fact that flights were cancelled or delayed because of this, but members of the UA were short with customers, making unprofessional facial expressions at people who were stressed out because they were trying to reach their destinations, and some staff was even ignoring customers in a long line to have personal conversations with one another or texting on their cell phone."
