South Korea has restricted the entry of all travelers who have been in the Hubei Province of China in the past 14 days. Chinese nationals with passports issued in the Hubei Province are also not allowed to enter the country. Korean visas issued by the Wuhan Consulate in the Hubei Province are invalidated. Nationals of China and travelers arriving from China must have visas to transit through South Korea.
Travelers arriving from China with a diplomatic, consular, official, service or special passport or who are nationals of Albania, Andorra, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Ireland, South Korea, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, Palau, San Marino, Slovenia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Vatican City and Venezuela may still transit through South Korea without a visa.
Short-term visas (type C-1 and C-3) issued on or before April 5 are invalidated. Visa exemptions for 90 nationalities with normal passport are temporarily suspended, except for airline crew.or passengers with an APEC Business Travel Card. Travelers with a visa on an expired passport must present a printed "Visa Grant Notice" and the expired passport to the immigration upon arrival.
Foreign nationals residing in South Korea on most types of long-term visa will need to apply for a re-entry permit at a local immigration office or at the airport before undertaking any travel out of South Korea. Those traveling with a re-entry permit will also be required to have a medical examination no earlier than 48 hours before they plan to return to South Korea, and to obtain a medical certificate in English or Korean demonstrating COVID-19 negative status. Merchant seamen with a visa must have a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued at most 48 hours before departure. The certificate must be in English and the passengers must have two copies of the certificate. All flights must arrive at Incheon International Airport (ICN) between 5:00 am and 8:00 pm.
All travelers arriving in South Korea will be subject to PCR testing and a mandatory self-quarantine for 14 days. In some cases, Korean authorities have permitted immediate blood relatives or spouses of long-term residents to self-quarantine at their family’s home. For this, travelers would need to provide proof of relationship (e.g., marriage or birth certificate), and should understand that Korean immigration officials have the final authority to approve quarantine arrangements. All travelers including airline crew members must also complete Health Declaration Forms and Special Quarantine Declaration Forms through a self-diagnosis app. Nationals and residents of South Korea are required to install a 'Self-quarantine safety protection app'. Chinese nationals who are traveling on business under the Fast Lane program and their family members are exempt from the quarantine requirements; however, they must self-monitor their health conditions for at least 14 days before departure and must hold a medical certification of a negative COVID-19 testing result issued within 72 hours before departure. They will receive an additional test upon arrival, after which they must stay at a designated quarantine facility for up to 1-2 days until receiving the result. Once receiving a negative test result, they will be allowed to end their quarantine.
Nationals of Mongolia, Russia and Thailand are restricted from transiting through South Korea on their way to or from those countries, and all foreign travelers who have been in Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Philippines or Uzbekistan in the past 14 days must have a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR test result issued at most 48 hours before arrival to enter South Korea. The certificate must be in English. Transit passengers will receive a temperature check on arrival in Korea. Symptomatic individuals will be subject to a COVID-19 test and hospitalization if found positive. Passengers who do not show symptoms and/or test negative may continue their journey. Transit passengers at Seoul Incheon Airport require a ticket/boarding pass for their onward flight to their final destination. Travelers should confirm with the airline(s) before departure that their bags have been checked through to their final destination (as transit passengers are not able to collect and re-check in baggage on arrival in Incheon Airport).

Cons: "The flight was delayed coming to Muskegon causing me to really rush to my connection in Chicago. This was a small plane so there was no charging abilities or WiFi."
Pros: "Flight on time, bigger plane, more comfortable seats, my internet didn't work, I asked for help, still waiting."
Cons: "They made me pay twice for luggage, I pay once in Halifax, right through to Dallas. I missed Connection, therefore left next day, they charged me again, a total cost of $250.00 USD for baggage and hotel charges"
Cons: "Customer Service was poor Complete disregard for customer UA need to work with airport personnel to move luggage faster, especially for international travelers who have connecting flights. Ended up missing my connecting flight after waiting 1 hour for my luggage"
Cons: "No available gate after landing required an extra 45 mins. Not fun with a 2 year-old"
Pros: "Extraordinary efforts to accommodate bags in the overhead bin."
Pros: "They were very kind to my very tired toddler for a late night flight."
Pros: "The crew was great throughout the 12 hour flight, the entertainment was varied as always, the flight time for departure and arrival was almost spot on."
Cons: "Due to the fact that I didn’t know my gate number and that my bags were going straight to destination, I waited for all the bags to be dispensed at the carousel which never came. I later rushed through security check and told one of the officers that my connecting flight’s last call was in 15 min. She then placed me in front of 20-25 people. I was the last person to board the plane. All of this could have been avoided had the printing machine write my gate number and the ticketing crew tell me about my bag. They were too casual overall. I want United to give me a cash credit for my next flight. Every flight that I’ve taken with them has always had a hiccup on one leg of the flight or the other."
Pros: "Great crew, smooth flight"
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Tight seats, boarding process"
Pros: "The landing."
Cons: "First leg of my journey was delayed, so it was crazy connecting to my second United flight to Vegas. Poor service overnight."
Pros: "Reached SFO safely. Thank God!"
Cons: "Awfully rude and uncaring cabin crew. Especially a guy named Eric. Bumped my shoulder with service cart when Zi was sleeping. Ignored me when I tried to catch his attention several times. Didn’t care a damn about offering a vegetarian meal/snack. Both times only available meal was non vegetarian. Normally the crew tries to accommodate and offer some options. But Eric said this was it...take it or leave it. Just so rude and uncaring. No entertainment in head rest in front. Internet was extremely spotty and the charging station would stop after some time automatically :("
Pros: "They find an option though TPE as I missed my connection in SFO."
Cons: "Had a middle seat while I need a window to sleep in the plane. Was wasted on arrival."
Pros: "Nothing, will avoid this airline in the future"
Cons: "Cramped seats, paying for 1 bag when others didnt at gate, ran out of peanuts / pretzels, undewhelming crew. Overall wasre of money, will avoid in the future."
Cons: "12+ hour flight with no working outlet to charge phone or headphones. When I asked to move to a seat that had a charger, they basically said no - even though there were about 20 open seats in the next "economy class" level. So for 6 hours, after my phone died, I basically stared at the wall and then had no phone to assist with my directions or hotel reservations once we landed. Food was not good. Plane was old, and had a few random screens playing a movie that kept freezing and had to be restarted."
Cons: "Flight was delayed, missed my connection"
Pros: "Left on time and landed early"
Pros: "Everything was great all around"
Pros: "I liked that the stewardess in the muskegon to Chicago flight gave us the gate numbers that we needed since there was a delay and we were very pressed with time."
Cons: "The weather delay but there is nothing to control that yet..."
Pros: "Fast no problems"
Cons: "Flight was delayed from 8:20 to 12:40"
Pros: "Painful flight and experience"
Cons: "Overbooked. Everyone uncomfortable because of the video of passenger dragged off plane."
Cons: "1hr 10min. Delay on the tarmak. Late into Calgary."
Pros: "Boarding went smoothly."
Cons: "AgainThe person next to me was so obese she needed two extenqders. She was taking up her seat and most of her neighbors, she was in the middle. I was literally pinned against the aisle arm rest. It was a full flight and I wasn't able to be moved. For the entire flight I was cramped and pinned with no where to go."
Pros: "I had a special meal and they were mindful to bring it and check that everything was okay."
Cons: "I downloaded the United app for entertainment but for some reason, I wasn't able to watch movies. It kept giving me an error. Make sure you download the app before the flight and that you have the latest version! At least they were playing movies and shows on the main screens."
Pros: "It's was a straight threw flight."
Cons: "The flight was delayed on the way there and on the way back. I checked the flights to see if they where running on time they said they where. Then I'm told the flight was delayed first 15 min then an hour. The Flight back was even worse the flight was suppose to leave Saint Louis at 3:30 to Newark was delayed 2hours and 50 minutes I checked the flight status said it was going to be on time. If I had know it wasn't going to be on time My son wouldn't have had to wait at the air port as long as He did"
Cons: "One of the male flight attendants was rude. Never seen such an impolite flight attendant before. Tapped my shoulder from behind to ask what drink i wanted which freaked me out, refused to lend a pen to passengers sitting next to me saying they could borrow one from ME and loaded extra snack for strangers sitting next to me on my table without telling me what you to do with them - am i a sandwich distrubutor who is supposed to stay awake till other passengers wake up to eat snack? I almost thought he was a racist that refused to talk to people who seem to speak no English. If that's the case, he'd better learn other languages so he can actually COMMUNICATE with passengers."
Pros: "Rud staff"
Pros: "She was very friendly and on task."
Cons: "Nothing. She was great."
Pros: "The customer service. They are so polit."
Cons: "Everything was good."
Pros: "The welcoming feeling that I received from the flight attendants."
Cons: "There was a drunk man on the flight. He kept making so many disruptions."
Pros: "Direct TV on the flight was limited to the channels available. While I like The Lego Movie, I would also prefer more choices."
Cons: "I am 5'10" and my knees were pressed into the seat in front of me for the entire trip. Essentially, I didn't fit in the seats."
Pros: "Entertainment was good. Seats were comfortable."
Cons: "1.5hr wait at the gate for baggage to be transferred."
Pros: "Crew politeness"
Cons: "Not entertainment available for long flights. Aweful seating arrangements."
Pros: "Crew was wonderful and snacks were average"
Cons: "The seat back was very uncomfortable but this was a short flight with a small plane. Not terrible but below average."
Cons: "Hour delay made my connection very close, but we made it"
Cons: "There was a long time delay. The inflight crew seemed to have an issue with helping you and when you did finally get a stewardess/steward, they will tell you to wait. No hot towel and almost an 8 hour wait to get your meal on a 13 hr flight!!!"
Cons: "Deverted to Newark to get to portland"
Pros: "Your staff was great"
Cons: "Although I am not enough of a united member to check into your club, I am in the military and I was told by your staff that checked me into my flight, that I could use the United Club as a military member. I went to the United Club in Narita going to the states I was allowed to go into the club. On my way back in went back to the same club and was told because I'm not going to Afghanistan I wasn't allowed into the Club. I walked away shaking my head at that. I guess because I am in S. Korea for a year without my family, that isn't good enough to be in your club."
Pros: "Staff was very nice"
Cons: "Two flights, two delays."
