Pros: "The plane arrived in Atlanta ahead of time and thus we were able to start boarding earlier than usual. The gate agent kept the process in order and moved the boarding process along nicely. The pilots also got us to Baton Rouge 28 minutes ahead of schedule which was appreciated. Nice flight."

The counter person would not let me check in even though I still had good 45 mins before take off. AND THE PLANE WAS DELAYED BY 40 MINUTES ANYWAY! I never made the flight, had to take train."

First making my area narrow than all the other seats and between the plane leaving late and the terrible process of loading people on the plane . Delta airlines was all about the up sale from charging for every bag to charging for internet ,food so on and so forth. Also one bathroom in the middle of the plane ? REALLY ? Out of tissue , paper towels , and tissue one hour into the flight . What in the Hell is going on with this airline ? Won’t fly with them again ."

My bag landed on the belt completely open, clothes and laptop hanging out bag onto belt, bag was damaged, zipper broken with holes in the fabric, bag was soaking wet! No one at airport able to assist with a damaged bag claim. Very disappointed in the Baton Rouge airport and lack of available staff to handle baggage issue."

She barely slept the whole flight and I had a stuardis in a red dress who whem I asked for for a beverage made it seem like I asked for it right now. Didn't say a word Else to me until it was time to land and my daughter had just fell asleep. She told me. I had to take her out of the baby carrier. My daughter needed a diaper change and there were no places to change her. I tried to change her by the door really fast. The stuardis said no go change in a bathroom I asked which one had a changing station they said none and to just change in my lap. Plus my car seat was broke when I got it back."

Cons: "as far as a seat in coach goes, you're getting a pretty good deal. obviously flying 14 hours across the pacific is pretty rough and we would all like to fly first class, but as far as coach goes, I cant complain. only downside was that I had an exit seat, so tons of leg room, but couldn't use the entertainment while in taxi, takeoff and landing, where I could've squeezed another movie in, but its a safety thing and a fair trade for the extra room."

Cons: "Mobile boarding passes did not work and required us to go back to the service counter and print the tickets. Luckily we had time but this was a hassle given we were traveling with our 3 year old. The woman at the service desk quickly helped us print the passes but stated the mobile boarding passes tended to not scan. They should have told us to print the passes the first time we were at the counter if they knew the mobile passes tend to not work."

Cons: "Gate at Philadelphia was tiny with not enough space for everyone on the plane, it was a 6 hour flight and no snacks beyond pretzels were available-not even for purchase. I'd just come off an 8 hour international flight where I was provided lunch, ice cream, a pot pie snack and frequent beverage service. Somehow as soon as you are flying domestic on a slightly shorter flight American Airlines thinks its okay to treat customers like garbage-nothing but some sad pretzels and 2 rounds of drink service was provided for a 6 hour flight. The seats were super uncomfortable with no head rest, no personal entertainment devices were provided, and there was no general entertainment for the whole plane-seriously I've never been so bored. I would have fallen asleep from boredom but the seat was too uncomfortable so I couldn't even do that. The plane landed in Seattle but sat without unloading passengers for 20 minutes because the gate crew wasn't ready. We didn't get our checked baggage for over an hour after landing. When asked, customer service reps said that the S gate was far from baggage claim-seriously I'm not sure how that is a reasonable excuse. Other airlines arrive into S gates and have timely baggage claim service. American Airlines has no standard for timely baggage claim service like other airlines (Alaska) so there were no repercussions for such late baggage service. We left the airport with our luggage over 90 minutes after the plane landed. The entire experience is just another example of American Airlines of why the terrorists won't even fly American Airlines. I was seriously disappointed to find out that the British Airways flights we booked were operated by American instead of BA crews. I seriously will never select this option (or fly American) again if I can help it."

Pros: "What mede this trip so poor was that the agent at the desk informed me that as I was boarding the plane my carry on suitcase had to be checked due to limited space in the overhead bins. This is the same carry on that I have stored in overheads on literally over 100 flights including a United flight 4 days earlier. I was the approximately the fith passenger to board in group 3 and after I let her check my bag I walked on to the plane to see not only was it only one quarter full of passengers, most of the overhead bins were completely empty. So I had to go to baggage claim to get my checked bag after we landed which took almost 40 minutes. Very frustrating!"

Delay was very frustrating. Also, not a fan of selections on United WiFi entertainment - very limited."

The plane we were supposed to be on was having mechanical issues and rather than waiting until we were boarded and sitting on the plane until the issues were resolved (which coincidentally happened on my earlier flight for 1.5 hrs) the stopped boarding, which made a bad situation a little less crummy."

If you find a reasonably priced flight you don't have to worry about paying extra for baggage or stomach during the flight. On the flight home, I realized that they have bigger seats, your bags ( 1 personal, 1 carry-on, and 2 checked bags) are "free" and they give you a little snack to hold you for maybe and hour. Overall I prefer Southwest because of all the benefits you get while flying with them but it doesn't mean I will never fly United again."

In other words, UA is accomodating stand-by passengers before accomodating customers who have purchased tickets. Try sitting in a middle seat after two overseas flights... especially as a tall person with no knee space and a super-uncomfortable seat with the headcushion area reaching only your neck. Those seats were clearly made for folks under 5'8"-5'9"."

Cons: "After I booked my round trip flight to Denver from New Orleans I discovered that my mom had surgery to remove her breast cancer on the day I was originally supposed to depart. I called to see if there was anything I could do to change my flight to the next day and received no help what so ever. They said it would cost $200 just from the start. I couldn't afford that, so I just bought a cheaper one way ticket for the next day, not knowing that if I didn't catch my first flight that my return flight would also be cancelled. When I called to see if I still had my return flight I was told no and one again told it would cost $200 to do anything about it. So in the end, I'm stuck in Denver and bought a round trip ticket for absolutely no reason."

Also the crew on the way to New York made sure I had a wheelchair to cross the airport in Chicago and not so in New Orleans...had to make a visit to the emergency room after getting home and be off work for 5 days due to the condition of my leg after the walk across the airport."

We're paying more for flights and then they have flight waitresses trying to monetize the time you're in the air. And when I was checking in in Berlin this guy was asking me a ton of questions, but didn't ask the next 5 people any questions. When I stared at him he started asking others questions. I went with United on this trip and I have to say that I am never going back on another United flight."

When i arrived to New Orleans I was charged an additional 30.00 dollars for parking!"

"My flight was supposed to leave at around 8pm and was delayed until around midnight 2 nights in a row and finally cancelled… the third evening it was delayed until around 10:30 and we finally were able to fly out. The single worst flying experience I’ve ever had. They did refund me for my flight but this was the absolute worst customer service I have ever had. I will NEVER fly Spirit Airlines again!"

"This was my first flight on Spirit Airlines and I was a little leary and had low expectations. . . however, I was pleasantly surprised! The crew was very pleasant and cheerful! Seats were perfect and we took off on time and landed 15 mins early!! It was a fairly short flight <2. There was no entertainment and snacks were available for purchase! The price for the flight was great, it exceeded my expectations and I will definitely fly SA again!!"

Passengers should be removed from the plane if the delay is going to be over 30 minutes that way they can take care of their personal needs and stretch. Water and a snack should be offered if the delay is over 30 minutes. Telling passengers you do not give anything for free and then refusing them water after turning off the air conditioner is really bad. Also, when reloading the same protocal of calling for children, disabled, and zones should be followed. I had to tell the manager to do this. He just told the whole crowd to line up which created a hostile mess."

Cons: "Drunken birthday party on board was never asked to stop whooping and hollering and was actually encouraged by the flight attendant who asked passengers to cheer and yell multiple times. Additionally, when they did not stop drinking their own alcohol after the flight attendants asked all passengers to refrain from doing so due to FAA regulations, nobody asked them specifically to stop. Gate change was not well-communicated, and no audible boarding announcements were made. The gate attendants failed to put any information about the flight or boarding on the gate screen intended for this purpose."

Pros: "Likes: 1. The flight was on-time. 2. Although the flight was very long, bag check lines and boarding lines were negligible. 3. Friendly, intelligent and flexible staff make a difference. 4. After requesting it, I was refunded the excess baggage fees that I could have avoided had they been posted before I had to check-in. I was told that this was a one-time refund, because from now on, I should know better."
Cons: "Dislikes: 1. I could not complete a Spirit Frequent Flier profile on-line, either via Web or via App. 2. Because I could not create a Spirit FF account, I could not get credit for the miles purchased. 3. I could not find the specification of baggage dimensions, costs (online vs in person), and that the fees are higher if the same person checks multiple bags as a convenience rather than gives each bag to a person of their traveling party, until *after* I had to check-in and purchase the bags. Only then was I presented with a schedule of prices. 4. The dimensions and costs of bags are inconsistent with other no-frills airlines. I traveled with a split ticket, so my departing airline was different than my returning airline. It is stressful and challenging trying to get the carry-on and checked baggage dimensions and weights within limits of both airlines, particularly when Spirit did not post their requirements and fees until *after* I checked-in. 5. The seats are hard plastic, do not recline, and have a cushion that is so firm that I become uncomfortable for long flights. I was not uncomfortable this flight because it was short, but had the flight been longer, I would have been uncomfortable."

Cons: "flight was delayed due to no airspace in Boston? I question this as the flight was coming in after midnight. We had to get off the plane and take our carry on bags only to get back on the plane 45 minutes later. I asked the flight attendant if they had any snacks we could have since it was midnight and nothing opened in airport and was told no they don't have any. only to get back on the plane 1/2 hour later and the staff was selling snacks. You would think they would be free since we were put out. Will never fly spirit again"

Pros: "Upon checkin at the spirit counter - I was told the flight was delayed by approx. 45 min. called my son and we went for lunch this was all at 12:30 the check in - then we had gotten back early and guess what - the plane was boarding - had I not come back from lunch by 2 pm - I would have missed my flight! Also, I had a carry on bag of 18" and was told I had to check it. AND charged an additional 50. each way. AND I will not even get into the landing at LaGuardia - what a disaster that place is. I hope Elite comes back to Islip... Now, I'm supposed to fly out again on Dec. 15 - and haven't received my confirmation from Spirit as of yet!"

Cons: "I purchased a ticket from Chicago to Myrtle beach for 158.00. When I checked in I had my luggage and my golf clubs. It cost me 50.00 for the first bag and 60.00 for the second bag. Then I went up to the counter and she said it will be an additional 30.00 because both pieces were overweight. I opened the bag that was 51.5 pounds and took out a shoe which lowered it to 49 pounds. She said you still owe me 30.00. I said its under 50 pounds and she replied "It has to be under 40 pounds". I got upset and said I will never every fly Spirit airlines again and she smiled. I said you could care less couldn't you. I am sure its not the first time she has heard that. They also charge you for soft drinks, water, or coffee. So all in all I ended up paying 140.00 each way for my luggage and 158.00 for my ticket, so the entire price to get me and my luggage there and back cost 438.00"

Cons: "The passenger next to us smelled like vomit. It was terrible sitting next to him and I had to keep spraying my body mist every few minutes since it was extremely hard to breathe! He smelled like dead rats and old eggs vomitus combined! Worst experience in any airline so far! :("

Cons: "The cost of the carry-on is more then the check-in for baggage. The Ticket Service Agent at Myrtle Beach Airport - John Griffith was very rude and had an attitude. We didn't know we were standing in the wrong line, he didn't want to accept our baggage. Was going to take the 2 others who had came after us, but the lady had said to take us first. Then he told me not to give him an attitude. When he gave us a really dirty look about it. He acted like he didn't want to be there and we were bothering him, he was very irritated. I have never in my years of flying, had anyone every do that to me. I give his service a "F", he failed to meet all of his requirements: professionalism, respect, misreprensenting Myrtle Beach, Spirit Airlines and his duties of his job. He needs to be retrained or find another job!!"

Cons: "My return flight from Dallas to Myrtle was canceled after check in. There was poor communication as to what to do next, ultimately we were rebooked on American. If it happens to you don't be the guy yelling and screaming, we quietly asked what to do and we're rebooked amidst the chaos within 20 min or so, while the aggressors were still waiting several hours afterwards."

Pros: "Nothing, horrible airline...THIEVES!!!"
Cons: "I had to pay $84 USD for luggage (42 each) one-way and will have to pay the same for the return trip! That's almost the cost of the original ticket. This airline is CROOKED! How in the world do they get away with this. First airline that I've ever been on that charges more for carryons than they do for checked bags, and that charges you got every little thing!!! Unbelievable! Didn't find out about their horrific baggage policy until it was too late, as they did not send out notifications for early check-in just so they can cheat their customers better! Never, ever again!!! I will NEVER fly Spirt again!!!"

Cons: "The staff was RUDE. Period the END. We got boarded on to a plane with zero air conditioning in 90 degree weather and instead of 1) DELAYING BOARDING 2) ACTUALLY NOTIFYING US AS TO WHAT WAS HAPPENING 3) OFFERING FREE WATER FOR THE INCONVENIENCE AND SO YA KNOW, PEOPLE DONT DEHYDRATE we were essentially told nothing for 45 minutes of sweltering heat. And once again, the crew was rude. They didn't offer assistance of explanation in fact they rolled their eyes at you as if they couldn't be bothered. We were actually told as we were deboarded "stay near by because we will leave without you" WITH zero time frame. I would rather pay a thousand dollars for a ticket then fly spirit airlines again."

Cons: "Everything that Spirit has done has been mediocre. I bought a ticket for my employee to fly to New Orleans and he showed up at the kiosk 40 minutes before the flight and was not able to get on so I had to pay $15 to reschedule for today and he showed up at the same time and still they said that their computers were down and they couldn't check anybody in and there's multiple people angry that they're boarding passes want working and so now we have to figure out how he can get to New Orleans and actually make it there. It'll be three days of not being able to get there because of spirits unethical and subpar customer service. I will never choose to fly Spirit again after this"

Pros: "That we left on time for once and only had 1 gate change this time instead of the average 2/3. Bonus...I was actually notified prior to arriving at the airport...that was a first! Things are looking up....or are they"
Cons: "Seats that don't move...even a tiny bit. Even water has a price tag. Boarding passes that you can't save to your phone and must be printed. (When traveling we don't always have that access) I know...print it at the airport. I would have but the kiosk wouldn't accept my credit card for the seat change so off to stand in line anyway. New bare bone seats just add to the discomfort of the tight spaces. The elastic straps don't hold anything and the tray tables are ridiculous....not to mention loud ever time someone doesn't realize you have to hold on to it as you close it or it sounds like a rifle shot"

Cons: "They would not let me check in at 915 for a 955 flight. The airport was not crowded it was a Tuesday night and they would not budge on the fact that I was there 44 mins before not 45 mins. They have a very strict 45 min check in policy. I had to sleep at the airport and then they charged me 100 dollars for changing my flight. It is a scam. I was on line with multiple people who had to pay for their next flight even though there was plenty of time to get to the gate. I will never fly spirit again!"

Cons: "CANCELLED. NO Assistance with rebook. Refund and you are on your own. Found out later they were have a pilot strike. They didn't disclose that and should have, in my opinion. I had the same exact thing happen on my return flight. Cancelled. No assistance with rebook. Had they been honest and straight forward I could have made proper accomdations for my return flight home. Instead a got the screw job TWICE. I understand that it is not in their control of the pilot strike. But good service would disclose that information as to not cause additional problems. Spirit sucks. Everyone knows that. But they don't have to screw people over and more then already do"

Cons: "I was very disappointed in the entire process. Mostly the lack of communication and consideration from the agents. I saw where elderly people were trying to walk up the ramp alone with zero assistance instead of a WC or help. The fact the agents were annoyed with the passengers bc of spirits lack of communication to inform to us passengers why we didn't have a plane or a crew was very frustrating. With that being said the crew was amazing even after coming off an international flight and getting stuck in customs."

Cons: "The ticket appears nice and cheap. but it isnt. they charge you 55 dollars for a checked bag, another 55 dollars for a CARRY ON bag, AND their weight limit is 40 LBS instead of 50LBS, so if you have a normal checked bag it's actually going to be almost 100 dollars. If they could have I am sure they would have charged me 25 dollars for a seat-belt and charged me 10 dollars for using the airplanes bathroom. They are the epitome of money grubbing cheapskates. this is not to mention the seats being at least 4 inches closer together than any other plane I have ever been on. crammed in their like sardines. Spirit airlines is a complete pile of $hit and I will never be flying with them again."

Pros: "the budget airline where you pay for everything - including water and carry on luggage - means you end up paying the same or more as other airlines. If you can go without water or luggage, you will save money."
Cons: "Luggage cost 100 dollars, instead of 25 on other airlines, because of higher costs. On outgoing flight from New Orleans they were 2 hours late leaving, then boarded and then announced the pilot wasn't on board and they would have to wait til they arrived - for what turned out to be almost an hour, during which time they turned off the air so the plane was hot, stuffy and cramped, and water was available only for purchase. I called and emailed the company - no response. Terrible service, not worth the proposed savings because other costs equal out - cramped cabin, poor quality, no customer service to reach."

Cons: "What I didn't like is that after I bought the ticket, I learned that I had to pay for a seat, I had to pay for checked bags of course, and I had to pay for carry on bags. What!?! About $150 for one checked and one carry on both ways.....which means I didn't really save any money on this "cheaper" flight. One more kicker is that I travel using my TSA number and SPIRIT airlines doesn't have an agreement with the TSA for their travelers to use pre-check. Wow. i wished someone had pointed out all the extra fares and fees"

Cons: "We ended up having to cancel our flight due to Hurricane Matthew. The airline refused to give us a reimbursement for the ticket even though we bought insurance thru your company. I spent hours on the phone with both spirit and your company and still nothing was resolved. Now have an insurance claim hoping to get my money back as we would never use spirit for any other flight besides the one that we were planning to take as it's the only direct flight to Myrtle Beach. You also have to pay for seat assignment and baggage, and that's including a carry on. It's ridiculous."

Cons: "I could not even get to Myrtle Beach because of the hurricane the weekend before my return flight was scheduled. They would not even consider a refund when I tried to reach them on Monday, October 10th.First of all their Customer Service was in the Philippines and had no idea of conditions here. All he kept saying was that weather would have to interfere with my flight and the fact that I was not even in Myrtle Beach did not enter into the discussion. I will try to avoid flying Spirit in the future."

Pros: "That we actually made it there..."
Cons: "Where to start... I understand the concept of a base fee and you pay a la carte for everything else but this only really works for a single person traveling with a small personal item ONLY. You are literally charged for EVERYTHING. Which is mostly stated on their website with the exception of the checked bag and carry on fees of $50 and $55, respectively. Those fees can vary depending on who you ask....And even though they say you can save by using the kiosk ($20 to go to the counter), we ended up going to the counter anyway because the kiosk could not complete our transaction!!! On our return, we had to go through customs which requires you to get your checked bag (decided to save the $5 and check it on the way home), go through customs and then drop off your checked bag to continue your flight. Well, the Spirit representative decided it would be a great time to take a break and be completely MIA from their post. We had to go completely out of the terminal and back to a counter to recheck our bag. Resulting in a very close call on not making our connecting flight. The long and short of it all: We "Saved" $100.00 total on the initial ticket purchase. We paid over $220.00 ADDITIONAL to have our one carry on and sit next to each other ($20.00 each seat, each leg of trip). Never flying Spirit again and have been telling everyone not to. Bad Spirit!"

It was horrible, I got to the airport at 5:30. am tried to print my ticket, computer send me to the counter I ask for help the lady tried to print the ticket she couldn't so I went to ask another lady she told me to get on the line by this time it was 6:00 am it was a long line by the time I got to the counter it was 6:30 and the flight was at 7:00 am then I got kicked out from the line for no having the ticket so I lost my flight and the money, I end up buying another ticket with American Airlines, never again with spirit never."

Pros: "They play good 'on hold' songs."
Cons: "Spirit cancelled my flight to New Orleans without informing me until I got to the self check in. My two options according to the baggage claim workers and customer service on the phone were to get my money back or take their Thursday flight. I was supposed to fly home from New Orleans on Wednesday. From there, they narrowed my two choices down to just one, get my money back. As a result, I had to spend an extra $300 to get to New Orleans that day through another airline. According to Spirit, there was bad weather which is why the flight must be cancelled, funny, I made it to New Orleans that day with American Airlines. They never offered to compensate me, help me find tickets through another airline, or even an apology. I will never fly Spirit again in my life."

Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "Everything. Not only was the flight's departure delayed by two hours, but once we were finally able to board the flight, the a/c wasn't working. After taxiing aimlessly for 45 minutes in the Dallas summer sun with no air conditioning, the pilot announced we would have to return to the gate so that "the engine could be started". Fortunately, at this time, the air conditioning was also repaired. After an additional 1 hour and 15 minutes of repairs, taxiing and waiting, we finally departed after a total delay of 3 hours. Upon landing in New Orleans, we were forced to wait for an additional hour while we waited for our gate to clear. All in all, we arrived 4 hours after our initial arrival time, and spent 3 hours on a plane for a 1 hour and 8 minute flight."

Pros: "I thought the seats were decent, and the aisle is wider than most."
Cons: "I didn't like the fact that only one bathroom was working. The price for luggage is OUTRAGEOUS. There was pretty much no service from the flight attendants. This was the first time I've flown with Spirit and it will be the last. I should have known better than to not book with Delta or Southwest. Even though you lure customers in with your initial low price but than you nickel and dime the customers to death with fees for everything and the extreme high cost for luggage, that your initial ticket price became higher than the other two carriers initial price. Shame on you!"

Cons: "We were not assigned a seat and had to wait at the gate until everybody got in the plane and they gave us the last seats and were seated separately, although there were 2 seats available next to my friend i was traveling with, but we were told it was a full flight. The flight attendant told us we could switch after the seat belt sign came off, but after that we were told no and one of them was not very polite. Terrible. Hope not to fly with spirit airlines ever again!! I dont want to talk about the baggage also, those people only know how to be rude and don't explain anything!"

Pros: "Had issues with online check in. Had to call customer service. On hold 45 mins. Agent refused to take my info for return trip. Got to airport - no record of my paying for seat or carry-on. Agent rude. Informed me I had purchased seat/carry on for RETURN but not for first leg. Boarding nightmare. Plane smelled of old beer and vomit. Ppl in aisles with seat assignments for Row 31. Plane only had 30 rows. Return flight: got to airport - no record of my return flight. Had to be stand by for an oversold fight. There were at least 8 of us in exactly same situation. Gate crew was wonderful but frustrated - says it happens ALL the time. Will never fly Spirit again..."
Cons: "Paying for seat and carry-on. Once those fees were added to original cost of tickets, there was no savings. This, combined with above issues, clinched it for me, and I will use major carriers for all future flights."

Pros: "Nothing. I really wish I would have read spirit's reviews before booking with them."
Cons: "I booked a round trip flight through spirit from July 2nd to July 4th for a friend's wedding. Found out the night before my flight that it was cancelled due to "mechanical failure." Since it was on a holiday weekend, all of spirit's other flights for the day were full and customer service (which is also terrible) would not put me on another airline. They offered a refund, which I accepted and have yet to receive, but I had to fork out another $120 to get another last minute flight. And of course they did not offer to cover the extra cost. Tl;dr - booked a flight with spirit because it was cheap and ended up almost missing my friend's wedding because my flight was cancelled."
