All travelers, 2 years of age or older (including US citizens and transit passenger) must present a negative COVID-19 viral or antigen test result issued 72 hours prior to departure or have a proof of recovery from the virus within the last 90 days prior to boarding the plane.
Exemptions or waiver to the testing requirements may be granted by the CDC on an extremely limited basis when emergency travel (like an emergency medical evacuation) must occur to preserve someone’s life, health against a serious danger, or physical safety and testing cannot be completed before travel.
US citizens and permanent residents arriving from the UK must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure.
Travelers are advised to get tested 3-5 days after travel and stay home and self-quarantine for 7 days after travel. Even if they test negative, they must still stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days. If the test is positive, isolate to protect others from getting infected.
Travelers who did not get tested, are advised to stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.

I was disappointed that there were no hot drink e.g. coffee or tea offered at any time, not even with the meal, but this was certainly the least of our disappointments. Only once on this flight did I see a cabin crew member smile. Don't know why, but they were a most unhappy crew that day and this was conveyed to the passengers. I find this hard to believe, and perhaps both my husband and I fell asleep for the few minutes this would have taken, but neither one of us saw a crew member check for seatbelts and seat position before landing in TO. Boarding gate wasn't announced until an hour before boarding, which on an international flight from a large airport was a little stressful, but I am assuming there was a good reason for this."
Pros: "I like that even though the flight was delayed they managed to board all passengers and get things going quickly for departure."
Cons: "Upon arriving to Rome, the time taken to land, actually getting off the plane and into the airport takes a very long time. Not much time to get to your connecting flight. Make sure you have at least 1.5 or 2 hr minimum layover time when booking connecting flights from Rome."

Cons: "Horrible experience with Alitalia. They boarded us on a plane that had a wheel issue, and kept us on the ground for 2 hours before they decided to de-plane us. We then had to wait in a 5+ HOUR LINE to get rerouted (nope, they won't handle these issues online or over the phone, you have to wait in line). And THEN they wanted us to wait in a 2 hour line to re-drop off our bags. We got stuck overnight in Rome and were put in a horrible Hilton Garden Inn and barely made it in time to use our coupon for a "free meal" (aka, frozen meatballs and stale bread in a buffet that had been sitting out all night). On our flight back, the food was absolutely terrible, the movie selections were old and scarce, and the seats were uncomfortable. We called to complain as soon as we got home and still have not heard back from Alitalia. I will never fly with them again."

It was difficult to move at all for this 12 hour flight. I am not very tall at only 5'7" and I am slim. Also, the lunch was worse than any I've ever had."

Could not purchase a bag and had to pay extra at the airport Whilst clearing security Air France pulled me out of line found me to be 1 killo over, and air Italia demanded another 75 euros. Not the first time this has happened. I pointed out numerous french people passing with very heavy bags and indeed helped several women lift 20+ kilo bags on the flight into the overhead bin on this flight and others. They all were french and never were they stopped with their heavy bags "Oh" the "security" guy said "I thought you were English!" "Not so" said this Irishman "And you are racist". To no avail and all part of Air france's business plan to charge the dreaded Estranger extra. Never again will I fly Air France. Id rather take a train, drive or even walk. Very bad experience start to finish and yes so very Air France; well Air Italia too.."
Cons: "The boarding was chaos in both Munich and Rome. Apparently Al Italia had instituted a new computer system and the workers did not know how to use it. I spent hours on line getting a boarding pass in Munich, and then again another in Rome (in Munich no one was given boarding passes for connecting flights). I spend hours again in lines to get a boarding pass for a flight to Palermo, missing my connection and only getting a much later flight to Palermo. It was utter confusion. Shame on Al Italia."
