The Dreamliner is a wonderful plane, with lots of legroom. But Air India have nothing to do with that.
The attendants were charmless, sloppy, older than I'd expected. The food was the worst I've ever been served on an airplane in nearly fifty years of flying. Appalling. Breakfast: rock-hard croissant served with ketchup. Main meal: tepid pasta. Tired little salads. And all presented in a cheap, untidy tray roughly clingfilmed together. The coffee was totally undrinkable - how difficult is it to serve a decent cup of instant? All this, coupled with an interior design that might have been almost fashionable fifty years ago, and seatback "entertainment" that was an insult to the mind and eye, made for an experience I will never repeat.
Plane looked new. Very clean. Friendly staff. Smooth flight.
Very cramped, no room. My suitcase was ripped. Boarding was on time and fast but then we had to wait once on the plane because one crew member had not arrived from a previous flight. I found it hard to believe that not enough time is scheduled so that the staff can get to their flight on time !
I liked everything about the flight except how the layover was handled. The original aircraft for the leg of the flight from Doha to L.A. had to be changed, and it seemed like confusion descended, and 2 hours later, we were finally boarded on the new aircraft.
The added time to my layover was hard because it was unexpected, and was handled poorly, in my opinion.
I enjoyed everything about my experience.

Boarding was seamless and efficient.
The crew were very pleasant and professional.
And the meal service and in-flight entertainment were more that I could have asked for.
Nothing, terrible experience, avoid India travel using AirIndia, the airport's are a mess, but AirIndia is specially worst.
Terrible experience, AirIndia is a mess in every aspect they take you from one counter to another, entrance to airport takes minutes per person, they take you from one counter to another, nobody knows and instead of telling "I don't know" they just lie, nobody tries to help, people are messy, line queue take forever because of inefficient people, and I could say a lot of more bad things.
Flown with Delta, AA, United and a lot of other carriers, but Etihad felt a little more special. Was a little skeptical never having flown them before but was pleasantly surprised.
The service was just better, the seats were just better, the food was just better. Overall, everything was just a bit better than what I was accustomed to.
I will be definitely recommending Etihad to F&F.
The food gets a little monotonous. We got served rice on 4/4 of our meals... lol. It;s better than not getting any food but it;s the only thing that was a little off.
