Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "But, this wasn't bad at all, even though we were on the very last seat of the plane. We were next to one of the flight attendants during take off and landing and she was very kind and we were speaking with her. The flight was smooth"
Pros: "Delta is the best--I sat in a comfy seat (middle seat at that) and watched 3 movies during my flight. Couldn't be better!"
Pros: "We spent 90 min in line to take off on the tarmac. Pilot kept us informed. Crew were very pleasant."
Pros: "The smootheness of the flight."
Cons: "The fact that the passenger behind me is was kicking the back of my seat. And it wasn't even a child!"
Pros: "Quick and on time. Comfortable seats."
Cons: "Not many movie options."
Cons: "No communication between different parts of the airport; early arrival, over 2 hours getting through baggage claim; good luck rechecking your bag; almost missed flight with a 2 1/2 hour layover. Workers on the ground don't care, or either don't know what's next on the transit through the airport."
Cons: "It was late and i missed my next flight"
Pros: "Efficient hop to Boston"
Cons: "I was not aware, when I picked my seat, that we were ahead of the Emergency Exit. My seat was extremely uncomfortable."
Cons: "Female flight attendants were rude and acted like the passengers were a bother. Tried to move to an emergency row after the doors closed, which was empty and the flight attendant refused stating we had to pay extra. NOT HAPPY"
Cons: "Horrible wait if nearly 30 minutes after landing"
Pros: "The environment and efficiency."
Pros: "The entertainment is always great on delta and they have new snacks now!"
Cons: "Cabin service took a bit longer than normal and we were stuck on the tarmack for at least 30 mins waiting to take off. Not anyone’s fault, just annoying"
Pros: "Everything went wonderful. Excellent crew"
Cons: "No problems"
Pros: "The boarding was efficient"
Cons: "Three hour departure delay. No explanation given. No apology."
Cons: "The plane was delayed by more than 3 hours due to "weather problems" earlier in the day. Delta did not permit re-booking to flights that left JFK for Boston earlier, even tho there seats available, instead insisting that we had to wait for our assigned flight. Small snacks (regular Coke, no Diet) did not really compensate well."
Pros: "Entertainment, newer plane, great crew. and complimentary meal? fantastic."
Cons: "I checked in 12 hours in advance for both trips and was assigned a B seat toward the back of the plane for both, with no capability to select my seats in advance."
Pros: "Everything was pretty good like usual, except when we landed we sat on the runway for 45 minutes waiting for a gate as ours was occupied by a plane that was having mechanical issues. Not great."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for very 4 hrs sat in plane for 2.5 of those. Flight was delayed dye to strike in Barcelona. But replacement plane had fueling problems delaying the flight another 2 hours"
Pros: "left on time - landed early. Gate checked my luggage for me."
Pros: "Complimentary meal and entertainment, very good service from flight attendants."
Cons: "Seat 43B?! I checked in 12+ hours in advance."
Cons: "3.5 hour delay due to lack of co-pilot. No consessions for delay when asked at gate. Lack of leg room. Broken tv, I asked twice to be fix nothing was ever done."
Pros: "The flight was on schedule and landed early, and the pilot landed that plane very gently. It was quite impressive."
Cons: "I purchased a first class ticket in hopes that I would have a lot more comfort during the flight. It took me quite some time to get comfortable. The seat was ok, but I found the pillows to be very small and flat. I needed multiple pillows. The head rest was not adjustable, so I also found this to be uncomfortable. Usually when I fly AA, the headrest is adjustable. My final dislike was that the beverage selection was limited. I'm quite sure there was plenty of alcohol, but what about those customers who do not drink alcoholic beverages? I asked for hot chocolate, there was none. I asked for hot tea with honey, there wasn't any. So all in all my flight was okay, but that is solely because of the flight attendant and pilot. They did their jobs and they did an excellent job."
Pros: "Get a day in NYC"
Cons: "Two daytime flights booked so can't get to Bangor until the 9:00 pm flight tonight. Aitline only coveted one night at the hotel. Had to buy a second night so we don't have to carry our bags around all day."
Pros: "Entertainment options weren't bad. Most of the crew was polite other than one flight attendant who seemed ambivalent and unhappy to be there."
Cons: "Three hour+ flight and just one tiny bag of pretzels? And no lemon or lime wedges on the beverage cart? Plus, I have to pay extra for one checked bag. I will only fly Delta if I have to in the future. Subpar airline."
Pros: "entertainment services"
Pros: "Fantastic SFO-based crew serving Delta One cabin. They are attentive, and constantly walk around the cabin to provide service."
Cons: "Delay at JFK (first, the inbound aircraft coming late, then 2.5 hrs taxing at JFK, finally landed in SFO but the gate was occupied)."
Pros: "Plane was very clean and flight attendants were helpful and friendly."
Cons: "Delta's domestic terminal at JFK is far too crowded, even at 8AM."
Pros: "All went well with every aspect of the flight."
Pros: "There were a lot of free movie options for a 6hour flight. The tv was new and had good definition. The food offered was quite substantial. The staff kept coming around with water and asking if there was anything else we needed. They gave free blankets. The lavatories were a little larger and more well lit than other airlines."
Cons: "The seats did not recline for anyone on the plane."
Pros: "Pilot almost barrel-rolled us climbing out of JFK, so if started well enough.... Ground assistance (wheel chair) left me with a badly bruised left big toe and I didn't think we'd ever get through the TSA. The pat-down I received was more like a sexual assault and I didn't even get a happy ending. We made it to RDU, so the exercise was a success, but it was a huge hassle."
Cons: "After reading the good things, you need more bad?"
Pros: "I got a seat in the exit row with lots of leg room. The entertainment that I didn't use offered a great selection with very recent movies, etc."
Cons: "I didn't like that I had to take a bus to my terminal. I didn't like the fact that my gate was changed more than five times. I didn't like that my flight time was changed more than 15 times with no reason why until boarding time. I didn't like the fact that I did not get a seat assignment until boarding the plane. I didn't like the fact that they couldn't manage to scramble another plane and crew, but instead forced us to wait over four hours for one that was stuck somewhere else in the country."
Cons: "Most everything was excellent, however my 2 year old daughter's in seat entertainment screen wasn't working. It was a full flight and there was no option to change seats. I brought it to the flight attendants attention however she wasn't able to reset it. A 7-hour flight from NY to Zurich travelling with small children without the movies was not as pleasant as it could have been."
Pros: "The courtesy of the staff and the seats in the "delta comfort" section."
Cons: "Too many interruptions. i'm not sure if there is a way but there should be a way to only serve only those who are requesting service."
Pros: "Enjoy able"
Pros: "The leg room was great, the blanket and pillow provided was great and the crew did not disturb me."
Pros: "The amount of movies to watch"
Cons: "Seating not enough room, couldn't use the overhead lights for 7 1/2 hour flight. Ridiculous."
Cons: "The quality of customer service and efficiency was lacking at the check in counter. Wrong information was given to many passengers as far as checking in baggage and being sent to several line ques for the agent to tell me in the end that I was told the information incorrectly since the beginning. I therefore was unable to board my flight on time, got switched to a new flight and the new flight was delayed for 3.5 hours."
Pros: "I was delayed coming from an international flight and was so thankful for the help from delta at the counter and at the gate. I did lose my bag but that was my fault in the confusion of jfk. I got my bag in 2 days."
Cons: "When i got my bag back the handle wouldn't go down fully. Baggage handlers must've mishandled it and bent something."
Pros: "Really liked the plan"
Pros: "Crew was attentive, kept us informed throughout, and were friendly. Landing was smooth."
Cons: "Bathroom ran out of tissues and toilet paper halfway through the flight. Alerted the crew, and they added tp. Bathrooms seem to have gotten even narrower, barely any room to move in there! Also, we had to sit on the tarmac after landing for 30 min due to gate traffic. A few minor inconveniences, but overall tolerable."
Cons: "One crew member was running late. So we could not start boarding until she got there. Which created a chain reaction of events making the flight late. She was not a pilot. So why couldn't we begin boarding while waiting on her?"
Pros: "Delta always seems to have the most legroom between the seats - Even more than our transatlantic flight! The crew is always friendly and helpful, and nearly all our flights on Delta were on time or early."
Pros: "From the Ground crew to the Flight crew, you can feel the genuine care and thoughtfulness of everyone! They even remember you, if you fly often enough, and let you know how much they appreciate your business."
Pros: "plane had individual movies for free with each seat!"
Pros: "I didn't like anything about this flight. Only benefit of the doubt is the 2 hour delay as a runway in SF had shut down."
Cons: "We had seats at first where there was what looked like bubble gum bits stuck on one of the food trays. The flight was clearly not cleaned although it landed 2+ hours before the departure. We had to ask for a wet tissue and clean it up. That was of no use too as it wouldn't scrub off. My wife was feeling under the weather and so we asked for a blanket. The blanket was hardly a blanket and more like a towel. We then luckily could switch seats as there were 2 vacant. But, the air conditioner was leaking water in the seat to our left. The crew was callous and just stuck the passenger with some napkins saying it does that. I don't fly Delta a lot and my experience in this trip isn't inspiring much confidence."
Pros: "Pretty much nothing related to the entertainment system... It is nice that you can play movies for free over WiFi on your phone or tablet (since the in-seat system simply didn't work...), but, bizarrely, the WiFi movie selection was different from (and substantially smaller than) the seat movie selection. What's that about? And the WiFi movie scheme is way more painful than it needs to be, requiring you "check out" movies using your web browser, then switch to a separate app to actually watch the movies. Clearly the product of a company mindset whose ONLY concern is "can we check some box", with absolutely no interest in "how can we delight our customers?""
Cons: "So we get the same entertainment system all these flights use: some ghastly totally non-optimized Linux setup that was rebooted three times during the flight, took 20 minutes for each reboot, and never worked correctly after any of the reboots. (The only movie my system would ever play was the very first one, and none of the on-screen controls worked. The seat next door could choose multiple movies, but each movie froze after 40 minutes). The amazing thing is: why don't they just install a damn iPad mini or Android equivalent in the back of each seat? Would be lighter than what they have today and would work FAR better. You'd need some co-ordinating/provisioning software to provide for OTA announcements and movie updates, but basically it's not that hard... At the very least, hire a Linux-head to optimize your startup scripts! It's just sad to see this 20 minute startup process (all dumped on the screen) with its constant repetition of time-wasting startup steps that just generate errors on this plane's particular hardware setup..."
Pros: "The crew was nice. It was a pretty smooth flight."
Cons: "The entertainment system didn't work. Very long flight to not have entertainment. No plugs for personal devices. It looked like an older plane."
Pros: "Movie selection"
