Our next flight left without us while we were waiting for a gate to open so we could get off the plane. There were no more flights so we had to fly to an alternate city and rent a car to get home."

The crew did their best given the situation. The situation was absolute bs though - we had to take a cab to JFK for our new flight and do the whole security thing again and all that annoying stuff. Cons: "You have to be aware that these are props, so flights do get delayed or cancelled due to weather. Both of our flights were delayed. But they were very up front about it. Also put us on earlier flights automatically which was nice."

Cons: "- My first flight was delayed and I wasn't notified until an hour beforehand (even though the flight was delayed due to an incoming flight they knew well ahead of an hour beforehand would not be there). I could have arrived at the airport later and paid less for my parking. - I was told by a gate agent I would still make my very tight connection (spoiler alert - I did not), so I did not ask to be rebooked on a later connection immediately. - Once it became clear I would likely miss my connection due to being delayed after boarding, I asked again about it, this time of a flight attendant. I was told there were 23 daily flights a day to my connecting city (there are not) and it would be fine. We sat on the tarmac for 30 minutes after landing waiting for a gate and the last hope of making that connection was gone. - Upon arrival in Toronto it turns out my connecting flight was cancelled and everyone had to be rebooked. The very pleasant customer service rep told me not to worry! They automatically rebook everyone and I've been scheduled to leave 10 flights later - the following morning. At 12:45 p.m. their best solution was a flight at 8:30 the next morning (later canceled). When I calmly explained that was not ideal, I was immediately given the "last seat out today" on a 9:30 flight (later delayed then canceled). I'm not sure who they were saving that for, but it is unacceptable to rebook people for the next day when they have free seats. I was resigned to spending 9 hours in the terminal (literally just a room with a few snacks) because I was also on standby for every flight until then, and fortunately after checking in again 5 hours later, I was handed a ticket for the flight leaving in 15 minutes. If I had followed Porter's original plan, I have no idea when I would have made it, as I already mentioned both of those other flights were later canceled and I've already gone over how Porter rebooks passengers. - I found out after I spent $20 Canadian on a sandwich and chips via the Porter website that they are supposed to give meal vouchers in a significant delay, but I was not offered one. - On the way back, I saw myself being set up for the same rigmarole. My first flight was delayed more than a half hour, leaving me with a very tight connection. Thankfully, I arrived at the airport earlier and was able to catch an earlier flight because as it turns out, the connecting flight I would have missed due to the delay ended up being canceled. I can only imagine what the rebooking process would have been, so I am glad Porter is accommodating about switching flights. I imagine they do so to save them the rebooking later, but still, it is not something all airlines will do. - Both flights out to Montreal were incredibly hot. I tend to run cold and I was sweating. The flights home on a warmer day were fine, so I'm not sure what was going on there."

Cons: "The flight was repeatedly delayed, at the gate, on the departing runways, and on arrival waiting for a gate. The Porter employees lied in ongoing manner about the length of the delays. I was seated by the departure gate and heard them tell passengers repeatedly, "10-15 minutes", when we were eventually delayed for 2 hours. When we were had landed and were delayed waiting for a gate to disembark, and the captain came on the intercom to tell us it would be a "five minute wait" the passengers literally laughed aloud incredulously."

I was finally able to upgrade at the delta check-in counter for a higher fee than usual (ontop of the perfered seat upgrade I already paid for). I waited 1.5hrs after takeoff before I called staff for a drink. Over 2hrs before they officially started serving main cabin drinks and snacks. There was some turbulence but they could have served people by hand without the cart. They had no problem serving first class before, during and after takeoff."

Pros: "The cabin crew were outstanding on WS709 today. This is my fourth trip with Westjet, and today stood above. Diane was beyond efficient and pleasant while maintaining a smile and grace, while a number of unattended children were onboard. My seat was changed, and that's fine - mostly because of the manner in which the crew at Pearson handled it. Then, I couldn't resist giving up my re-assigned (centre) seat so that two sisters could sit together. The two folk in my row were lovely, they talked more than I did, but when I joined in, it was a genuinely pleasant conversation. Three strangers, meeting per chance. The woman next to me had given her seat up for a family to sit together, so it really was a chance encounter! Diane needs to be promoted!"

Should they have automatically been assigned two seats together - they were unaccompanied. As happens, an 'aunt-like' woman was seated next to them, and again, Diane was an another in-charge auntie!"

Cons: "I upgraded to Plus for my flight and I expected more leg room, because I am 6'5. I felt cramped and couldn't sleep. Emergency exit would have been better. My neck hurt after the flight because you have to look down at your phone the whole time while watching movies. Food was mediocre, it wasn't top of the line. Wont fly westjet again."

Cons: "- The unprofessional way the staff "sorted us out". Especially the lady at check-in. Our flight was from NY to Toronto and then connecting after a nine-hour layover from Toronto to London. On all flights, we got the seats in the middle of the aircraft allocated, which is challenging when you are on crutches. - The second flight to London was in a terribly old machine where the overhead compartments were not well equipped to accommodate my crutches. The only way they fitted was at the very back underneath all the luggage. So when I asked the flight staff to help me get my crutch to go to the toilet, as I could not get it myself, he asked: "do you really have to use it?". I considered that very rude! - The selling of the entertainment systems took forever, which meant that the food sale was very late. Almost 4 hours into the flight on an overnight flight is really late! Especially when people would prefer to sleep. Due to my medication, I had to wait for food, but it took forever. All in all, not the best experience"

Cons: "When I drove up Toronto’s Pearson Airport, I expected the usual check-in process upon entry for my flight from Toronto to Warsaw (with connecting flights in Halifax and Frankfurt). However, my first surprise, despite me asking ahead of time, was that my small check-in bag would could $100 CDN instead of the $25.00 I was quoted. Despite the WestJest/Condor representatives best effort, I was told that I would, unfortunately, have to pay for the baggage despite the quote I was given. I paid the fee, was given tracking numbers, and asked for my boarding passes. I found it odd that my final flight from Frankfurt to Warsaw did not print out. I asked if this would be a problem for me and my bags arriving on timed, and I was told it would not be, as it is sometimes the case that passengers have to print out boarding passes at the next stop. I flew to Halifax and asked for a boarding pass from Frankfut to Warsaw (which I was told was still a Condor plane), and it was printed for me. Upon arriving in Frankfurt and waiting patiently, something inside caused me to ask about the status of my bags. To my utter shock, and the genuine honesty of my Condor representative in Germany, I was told that my next flight would actually be LOT (Polish Airlines) flight, and that my bags needed to be picked up from baggage claim and checked into my LOT flight. With less than 10 minutes left before boarding and the suggestion of an honest Condor official I was told not to bother trying to go to baggage claim and fill out a missing/delayed baggage claim at LOTs station in Warsaw Chopin Airport. At no point, despite my asking, was I ever informed about having to re-check bags I paid $100.00 to check-in. Moreover, at no point was I told that, on my flights from Toronto to Frankfurt, that everything from simple entertainment to food would cost significantly high cost (in Euros) to purchase. Be aware of these issues fellow travelers, and make sure you pay for food and entertainment (ahead of time) and make sure ALL your bags will be on WestJet/Condor planes or they will NOT be transferred!"

They didn't seem to be very accommodating or apologetic and I didn't even offer compensation to those who had to stay overnight to wait for the next flight out. C'mon AA. Step it up! I would think that if you cancel a flight, you should help your customers get home the same day. Do whatever you can. I don't think you did whatever you could for most of us on that flight."

I WILL TRY NOT TO FLY IN AA AGAIN."

By the time we got to DC I had JUST missed my connecting flight. It was listed nowhere on the departures screen and I realized I had to take an outdoor bus to the other half of the "c" terminal which was very confusing. I got there and had missed the connecting flight and stand in line for 20 min for someone to tell me that I would be stuck in DC overnight. At this point rain had started pouring and they told me that because my mishap was due to weather they would provide no meal or hotel voucher. Weather was not the issue and I was stuck in DC overnight by myself and not compensated for hotels or meals."

Those of us who got in line quickly were able to fly standby on the 8:00 flight. I felt the airline did not treat us honestly. I believe the reasons for the delays were known long before the delays were communicated to passengers. (For example, there was a new delay announcement at 8:00 for a flight scheduled to leave at 7:58). Had we been informed earlier, people could have made alternate plans if they wanted to do so (e.g. Rent a car or reschedule for the next day.)"

There was no update to the display board of the anticipated boarding time or arrival. Limited and poor communication overall. Once ready to board, the desk attendants insisted passengers check their bags because it would be "faster" since it wasn't certain if there would be sufficient overhead space. There was extra overhead space and we ended up having to wait 45 minutes for our luggage (small backpacks) upon arriving at midnight thanks to this desk attendant's short-sighted decision making. I will avoid American Airlines at all costs after this experience."

Cons: "The crew didn't share any information about connecting flights, even when we sat on the plane for 45 minutes after landing. Along with six people, we had to run through Dallas to make our connecting flight. I overheard the crew say they no longer can share connecting flight info, and why was a connecting flight under the same airline at a new terminal with no flexibility? It was very stressful."

The flight staff once on board was apologetic and communicative with everyone to keep people calm amongst the delays and cancellation of the original flight."
Cons: "The desk attendant at the airport was unhelpful and was missing for almost two hours while we were delayed. There was no explanation as to why and it wasn't until after a 5.5 hour delay that she was able to tell us there was work being done on the plane. It was a full flight, and many people were confused and had no one to ask questions. The flight was delayed at least six times before it was cancelled and we were booked on another flight. I'm happy we were on a safe plane to fly back, but I'm unhappy with how the situation was handled. Zero communication and ultimately, I could have driven the entire way back faster that day than I could have via American Airlines. I missed a scheduled important appointment with my doctor that I cannot reschedule now. There were two other flights going to Columbus that day that people could have transferred to but as I said, there was no help at the desk to inform anyone what to do so talking on the phone to representative was the best option and that was if you could even get through that day. Delays are delays, and if it's to keep people safe, then that's fine because I'd love to be safe and make it back. However, the way it was handled made it the worst experience I've ever had with any airline. Zero communication, zero help, an entire plane of angry and frustrated people... The only thing that saved the day was another AA attendant at another gate that was able to help me properly as well as most people on my flight. I will most likely be looking at other airlines as options in the future for flying because AA has been on a steady decline lately with my experiences."

There were no snacks offered. Drinks were not offered till at least an hour into flight. My first flight was canceled. Kayak let me know, American never notified me!"

As stated in Air Canada's online policy, passengers traveling with musical instruments that fit as carry on baggage are allowed to change to earlier boarding zones. After approaching a staff member with my viola, I wasn't simply assigned an earlier zone, but rather I was allowed to board first. On this principle alone I will be flying Air Canada again.
