Japan will allow the entry of foreign nationals who need to move to Japan to study, work or join their family, subject to necessary visa requirements. Foreign nationals visiting for short-term business purposes are also permitted to enter, provided that they have a visa. However, the number of people permitted to enter Japan under these rules will be restricted, with priority given to those moving to Japan.
Starting November 1, all foreign nationals with the status of residence with a valid re-entry permit, are not required to obtain “the Letter of Confirmation of Submitting Required Documentation for Re-entry into Japan” or “Receipt for Request of Re-entry” when re-entering Japan from countries designated as an area subject to denial of permission to enter Japan.

Residents of Japan with “Permanent Resident”, “Spouse or Child of Japanese National”, “Spouse or Child of Permanent Resident” or “Long Term Resident” status who departed Japan with Re-entry Permission by April 2, 2020 may still re-enter the country, even if they have been in one of the above countries. Starting from 1 September, these travelers will also need to apply to their nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate to receive a “Re-entry Confirmation Letter”, and may need to provide a PCR test result on arrival. Check the Japanese government’s advice on this process on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
Nationals of China with passports issued in Hubei Province or Zhejiang Province may not enter the country unless they can prove that they haven’t been in those provinces in the past 14 days.
Travelers who were on the cruise ship ‘Westerdam’ may not enter the country unless they’re nationals of Japan.
Nationals of Japan, their spouses and children who can present proof, travelers with Special Permanent Residence Permits with re-entry permits from a regional immigration officer, and US military personnel may still enter the country.
Travelers and airline crew who have been in any of the countries listed so far in the past 14 days must submit a quarantine questionnaire and undergo a PCR test upon arrival.
Special rules apply to airline crew members entering Japan. Crew members must submit quarantine questionnaires and “Plan of Stay in Japan” declarations. Crews should adhere to the instructions provided in the quarantine document “Notice: For Crews boarding vehicles from areas subject to strengthened quarantine.” Airlines should arrange chartered vehicles (as opposed to public transportation) to transport crews between the airport and their hotel, and ensure that crews comply with the other rules during their stay in Japan.

The plane should've been checked and ready on time,and certainly not after some passengers boarded it. The new plane they switched it with was not properly cleaned, plus we had no earphones. One of the flight attendants was constantly passive-aggressive. I did not appreciate that at all. The tickets issued at Newark had no gate assigned for our connecting flight and with the delay and everything, more time was wasted with finding that. The boy who rebooked us for the next flight did not assist with anything, did not tell us about vouchers. after finding out about that, I was disappointed for receiving 12€ for 12h=one sandwich and one 0.5lt of mineral water. Seriously? It was not my fault that this happened. I expected better from Lufthansa."

Cons: "We were forced to check our Uppababy Vista stroller at EWR departures that we hoped to check at the gate. Needless to say this made it difficult to get our toddler through security. At baggage claim only half our stroller was there - they had disconnected the seat from the wheels. Luckily we spotted what looked like a similar frame to ours at the gate when we landed. It then took another forty minutes for the baggage claim office person to go through security, to the arrival gate and back to baggage claim."
Cons: "No personal space or legroom. Uncomfortable seats."
Cons: "Flight delayed but the airline "autorouted" off my flight without informing me. I ran across the airport in Charlotte with my 2 small kids to find my original flight still there and I was kicked off of it. Irate and beyond bothered I got nothing but I'm sorry and you can get another flight in over an hour. So my small children and I will not arrive beyond dinner and bedtime. Unacceptable."
Pros: "I liked that you could watch TV and movies from your personal device without a charge."

Cons: "No individual entertainment systems on the seat backs--4.5 hours is a long time to be sitting on a plane with only an overhead screen showing whatever movie the airline chose. Also, charging $125 for a carry-on pet that has to stay under the seat AND having it count towards as one of my two "free" carry-ons is ridiculous. The flight was delayed because one of the crew was late."
Pros: "Getting to my seat was overall the best experience. Out side of the finally walking onto the plane and sitting down, over an hour late, it was less than mediocre."
Cons: "If the plane was on time and didn't run an hour and 20 Ish minutes late, it would have been fine, except for the blinking over head reading light that would flash in my face every 20/30 seconds that could not be turned off being due to, as the flight attendant said, "they all do that"."

Cons: "From checking my bag to leaving the plane in Dallas, I felt like AA employees thought passengers were just in the way. It was almost as if the flight attendants were traveling to Dallas and they happened to have to take care of passengers along the way. There were very few smiles, hellos, or how can I help you. It was almost always and grunt and what do you want? The personal device entertainment was very buggy. the movie I tried to watch kept skipping, like on old scratched CD."

Cons: "There was a strange situation outside of LGA wherein I sat in a car for nearly an hour once already at the airport. I don't know what was going on but we were trapped there and it caused me to miss my flight. There were no other flight out and I ended up having to book an entirely new ticket. I believe that LGA or American Airlines should refund my expenses, because otherwise it makes me not want to ever go through either again."

Cons: "Change of airports from EWR-Oak to JFK/SFO after I had printed boarding passes. Got call from AA but when I picked up, no one was on the line. Equipment prob, they said. I think it was two half full planes and they screwed the EWR passengers. Manhattan was in gridlock because of UN session. I discovered change when I arrived to check luggage curbside at EWR. 3 hours of stop and go traffic to get there. See other box re kiosk problems. Boarding pass didn't have my TSA FTN so had to go back. Could not check luggage curbside. Got seat in last row when I noticed boarding pass had no seat assignment. They lost my luggage at SFO. There's more, but..."

Cons: "I took a flight in 2016 from Newark New Jersey four times and I only went to Florence South Carolina one time. I ended up in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, another time in Columbia South Carolina and the last time in Charlotte North Carolina. Each time I departed I had to pay to come back to Florence South Carolina."

Pros: "In Charlotte our flight was cancelled, this was only the second leg of a 4 leg trip, the agents were extremely helpful and were able to get us on the flight to Miami that got us there in time to catch our last let to Guatemala. If we had missed that flight or had not been given another connection we would have missed our group's departure in Guatemala. Thank you American ."
Pros: "Delayed flight by several hours for no apparent reason and then finally a cancellation. Later told there was no room on another flight for me to CLEARLY see room on another flight for purchase on the website. Second leg was extremely cold and asked attendent for a blanket only to be told no, there arent any when there were clearly unused blankets in first class."
