Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "No turbulence"
Pros: "Short flight. Great helpers with my mom!"
Pros: "That I was FINALLY able to get to my destination after a THREE AND HALF HOUR DELAY. Mechanical malfunctions, Get crew unable to find the pilots once the mechanical malfunction was corrected, sitting on the plane for an hour waiting for some "guy" to be located who went missing who was responsible for our weight to certified for flight. I didn't like anything."
Cons: "Nothing. Everything was great."
Pros: "The crew was exceptional. The seats are very uncomfortable. It feels like you are being packed in a sardine can."
Cons: "The airlines need to take into consideration, the Price that passengers pay for an airline ticket, only to be restricted in those uncomfortable positions on the average of 2 to 3 hours."
Cons: "This flight, along with the bulk of AA flights, were cancelled, leaving me stranded and missing work meetings."
Cons: "The aircraft was very cramped. Water and some solid items leaked onto my head from the overbin."
Cons: "Checking bags in PHF very poor. Disorganized and poorly managed. Staff needs more training and explicit direction. Kiosks should ALL be in working condition!"
Cons: "All Excellent"
Pros: "Pleasant flight crew!!"
Pros: "I liked being able to board early as an active duty service member."
Cons: "I don't really have anything to complain about."
Pros: "The access to a movie while flying was great to help pass the time."
Cons: "All good"

Pros: "Great food, on time, smooth service"
Cons: "They forgot to plan a pilot....also the crew was 45 min late"
Pros: "Appreciated the friendliness of the flight crew, compared to two other international flights I have taken in the past year and a half on other airlines."
Cons: "Cramped seating, as I suppose is the norm on most airlines nowadays. But feels torturous on a long flight. Also, had to pay extra to choose seats. I think that’s outrageous."
Pros: "After we boarded there was a lot of confusion with the flight attendant. Apparently people ‘s bags got mislabeled. He didn’t know the those passengers final destination. Then he called out to see if a passenger was on board...shouldn’t he know? He had the list in his hand. Another baggage issue. Third, he asked if there were children under 10...was thoroughly confused when he only found one. It was a bit unsettling to the point where we were wondering where we were really going to end up. But our pilot, Hercules, got us there."
Cons: "Newport News airport was exceptional."
Pros: "The plane looks like new. Great seats, phone and tablet holders at the seat back, USB outlet and a smooth flight."
Cons: "The WiFi did not work and so no entertainment for a flight of almost 4 hours."
Pros: "Flight attendants actually seemed to care about what they were doing. Seats were pretty comfy for once."
Cons: "Flight delayed with no explanation or apologies. Putting two and two together from the airport monitors it looks like they had to swap planes due to a scheduling or maintenance issue. Just another chapter in the neverending saga of delayed American airlines flights"
Pros: "Getting home EVENTUALLY"
Cons: "10 minutes after leaving Austin the pilot tellsnus Houston air traffic control is grounding all westbound flights due to a storm in Dallas that's causing too much congestion. So we sa on the Tarmac for 90 minutes. I have a difficult time believing this situation was a surprise. Possibly it was just to free up the gate and not have to go through reboarding. Also leg room is getting reduced to 28 inches. I'm 5"11 and cramped. How is JetBlue better than American? How much will these airlines continue to bend us over. I didn't even take the screaming infant into account.... since it's not AA's fault for letting that baby on board."
Cons: "It got delayed and delayed, cancelled and re-routed and delayed two more time. I have yet to make it to Knoxville."
Pros: "Roomy seat"
Cons: "Lousy food"
Pros: "the choice of movies was great. I two very well presented selections."
Cons: "Outside of one drink service we never saw or heard from the crew. Not one food item for purchase was ever offered. I am glad I ate in the terminal or it would have been bad for me."
Cons: "Equipment malfunction at 11 pm is always really nice."
Pros: "Flight was delayed. No food offered."
Cons: "Flight delayed but the airline "autorouted" off my flight without informing me. I ran across the airport in Charlotte with my 2 small kids to find my original flight still there and I was kicked off of it. Irate and beyond bothered I got nothing but I'm sorry and you can get another flight in over an hour. So my small children and I will not arrive beyond dinner and bedtime. Unacceptable."
Pros: "Everything was great. I didn't have any food or drink. I slept the whole way to Dallas"
Pros: "Great crew. Friendly and reaponsive. Easy boarding."
Cons: "4 hour flight from SFO to Charlotte. No food beyond snacks. No entertainemt options. No electrical outlets."
Pros: "Plane didn't crash"
Cons: "Tiny seats and no personalized entertainment options. We booked this on British Airways but have pretty much been on American flights on every leg. This made customer service more complicated. And this plane was terribly uncomfortable. Boo!"
Cons: "We did not get on this flight because AA's scheduled it 90 minutes after landing from an Int'l flight. Why don't airlines schedule a minimum 3hours between Int'l-domestic connections. half the plane was stressing and freaking out about missing their connection even though the plane landed on time. "AA is not responsible for customs/security delays". Well, your customer service agents would have a lot less work if you didn't have to reschedule 100 people per flight. The time the plane drives/parks at the gate, you get off the plane and make it through customs, get your bag, recheck it (if need be, we didn't this time though), get through security and get to your gate, you'll be the luckiest person in the world to do that in less than 90 minutes."
Pros: "Slept through the entire flight, ground crew got me from gate to seat ASAP."
Cons: "Everything was good, so no problems to report here!"
Pros: "Only 30 minutes or so to ORD from GRB Paid with AA points at 7,500 miles each way for a weekend in Chicago"
Cons: "No TV's in back of seats (aisle TV's with poor resolution), no ac outlets, no wifi onboard. Needed to change a tire, flight was delayed 2 hrs"
Pros: "I likes that I was able to pick my seat for the same price."
Cons: "Delayed flight due to crew."
Pros: "Got to my destination on time."
Cons: "Where to start? How about when I checked in at the counter, I asked the check in attendant to add my FF number on my ticket. They said they'll get right to it, handed me my tickets and sent me on my way. It never happened. Not a big deal, I can request the mileage post flight, but still something. Look at my tickets, that I had booked a week in advance and specifically reserved an aisle seat. My ticket says "Priority Verification," whatever that means. Turns out it means you don't have a seat, and you get the worst of the worst. So what seat is the worst? How about the middle seat in a row of 5. The middle in a row of 5, on a transoceanic flight... What kind of airlines has 5 in a row? The guy next to me spent $300 for his ticket, I spent $1200, for the same flight, and this is the kind of seat I get? The plane felt like it was straight out of the 90's, carpeted center walls, old seats, tiny tv's. Overall, a plane that felt had not been updated in decades. Took 20 minutes for a flight attendant to respond to the flight attendant sign. This wasn't during beverage or food service, just a normal time at cruising altitude. They also don't have eye masks. Every other transoceanic flight I've been on has them provided in the seat pocket, American Airlines doesn't even have them on the plane! Economy class has no USB or power outlets, the in flight entertainment is about a 5" screen in probably 260p resolution. Decent selection of movies, but you have to join the movie in progress or wait approx 10 minutes for the next movie to start. Legroom was okay unless you had one of the entertainment boxes in your way, then that takes up 30% of your space. Some of the tray tables do not have cup holders, on the top, bottom, or anywhere on it. Also my table was tilted, so every time I put a cup on it, it slid right off. Seems like a minor complaint, but eating dinner and fighting a sliding cup the whole time is a pain. Dinner and breakfast tasted decent, but you can tell American is cheap on the food. Most airlines will give something like a main course, a bread roll, fruit cup/salad, juice, small dessert. American gives you the main course and a fruit cup and that is all. Crappy utensils too. Overall, if I had paid maybe $200 for the flight, I wouldn't have any room to complain, but because American holds the government carrier contract for FY17, I had to fly on them at exorbitant cost, and would never recommend them to anyone."
Pros: "Not a good experience so nothing"
Cons: "AA failed to allow me to check in at initial arrival in Grande Prairie airport so I had to rush to get a boarding pass in Calgary where the AA agent told me it was not an AA problem and sent me back to WestJet. WestJet discovered that it was an AA problem and returned me to the AA counter where it was resolved. Then I had to rush to catch the flight and missed any opportunity to have a decent lunch between flights. Then there was no food offered on the AA flight to Dallas."
Cons: "The emergency exit row window seats are extremely uncomfortable. Seats don't recline and there is no arm rest along the wall. Also, there were no vegetarian options aboard and the flight attendants didn't make any effort to put together something I could eat."
Pros: "I'm in the military so thank you for allowing active duty to board with 1st class passengers. Also having the free movies available to watch is great too!"
Cons: "No bad comments to put here. The only thing I would recommend would be to add a free Internet option"
Pros: "On schedule and met all my expectations."
Cons: "No complaints."
Pros: "No vouchers were given out to customers"
Cons: "Delayed flights"
Pros: "Very kind crew and staff."
Cons: "Newport news has no comfortable seating in the airport...no where to nap until the flight."
Cons: "When I spoke with a manager he was callous and told me things happen."
Pros: "The entire process from check in to boarding to the actual flight was wonderful"
Pros: "It was a great experience. Flight on time, excellent seats, even though the reservation was made one day before flying out due to an emergency. Wonderful flight crew. Will suggest to others and fly likely again."
Cons: "Weather delay"
Cons: "The flight was operated by American Eagle, on a small regional commuter jet. We had to board from the tarmac and climb a steep flight of stairs to board. Not advisable for anyone with limited mobility."
Cons: "Showed up 29 minutes before my earlier flight and was evicted. It took 7 hours to get on another one. Then that flight was delayed an hour due to the A/C not working. Frequent business traveler going to avoid AA at all costs from now on."
