Boarding went well because we complained about how tired we, at 70+, were because the flight was late and we'd been standing up; this resulted in us being boarded with some of the latish priority passengers."

The meals were mediocre and the cabin staff were just barely the good side of unhelpful, officious and unfriendly The flight was inexplicably 2 hours or more late in excellent weather. No apologies given, the flight that was originally scheduled for 8 pm left close to 11 pm. While boarding the only light is a purplish ambient lighting that made it impossible to read anything, including the safety material, until the inflight entertainment was loaded up (the lights are only controlled through software-actuated virtual buttons on the screen). The inflight entertainment system is hard to use, too, designed by idiots for use by geniuses. But the very worst thing was the stress caused by Virgin Atlantic in just about guaranteeing that we would miss this flight. On our outbound voyage in January, VA, for reasons nobody knows, booked an ADDITIONAL leg from JHB to CPT on BA at 12:30 pm, even though we were already ON the earlier 9:30 BA flight we'd booked and paid for. Then, when we didn't show up for this spurious flight (because we were already in the air) we didn't book (BA swears they have evidence that VA made this booking), our return flight CPT to JBG three months later was cancelled WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE. If I hadn't been interested in knowing, the day before the flight, if the return BA flight had a meal, I would have showed up at the CPT airport in April and discovered that I had no way to get to the VA flight in JHB! As it was I spent an entire day trying to get back on the flight I'd already paid for. I advise EVERYONE who uses VA to reconfirm flights over and over. There is still no explanation for this. I will never NEVER fly VA again. They are not to be trusted."

American didn't do anything to help other than offer a "discount" of about $10 off of over $100/night hotel rooms in the Philadelphia area to sleep overnight in Philadelphia. This was absolutely lousy customer service by American, and will definitely make me avoid American Airlines in the future."

Pros: "I took two connecting flights on American Airlines between Los Angeles and Lisbon period on the website American claims to have charging and or electrical ports in every row. There were none on either flight. To make matters worse, when my tablet and phone batteries both died before the end of the first flight, there was no inflight entertainment, other than 1 ridiculous thing available, on either flight. American has switched to BYOD for entertainment, but forgot to provide a way to charge our own devices. Incredibly stupid."

As the delays continued, 3 in all, we were told that the aircraft was at DYT but we were waiting on a crew to be flown in from Charlotte. Not sure how AA messed up their crew rest schedule on domestic regional jet carrier. Either way, a new gate attendant arrived to take over, and continued to tell us we were waiting on crew. Then the story changed to waiting on aircraft and crew. By the time the 3rd change in departure had been made, and we were still waiting on aircraft and cre, AA failed to continue to update the departure and arrival times. Once we boarded around 9:00pm the boarding time still showed 8:10pm. Then we sat on the runway awaiting departure for approx 40 minutes before taking off. Very poor communication And customer service."

The crew on the other hand stayed professional and friendly."

Dinner was mediocre but at least some was available, which I didn't expect on an overnight flight starting after dark. ("Breakfast" was a slice of really tasty banana bread but nothing else.) I really appreciated the presence of outlets and USB ports for charging electronic devices, and that the seats had adjustable headrest flaps. These are essential features on long flights!"
Cons: "It's almost impossible to sleep in economy class seats, even with the adjustable headrests. I recognize that economy is supposed to be the "no frills" class of travel but sleep is not a luxury. Sleep is a basic human need, like food and oxygen. I don't actually believe that offering better accommodations for everyday passengers (off whom the bulk of airline profits are made) is financially unfeasible or unreasonable."

Pros: "It would seem that if you are seated toward the rear of aircraft the likely hood of your overhead storage compartment being available to you are pretty remote. There doesn't seem to be any adherence to baggage size regulations and consequently passenger start jamming their bags in other people's allotted compartments. The problem seems to cascade the further back in the plane you go. Very fxxking annoying and you are left holding the bags so to speak!"

Cons: "run down cabin"

Pros: "there were only 12 passengers so lots of space."
Cons: "the incoming plane was late so we were late boarding, then due to this we had to sit on the runway as we were told we could not land in Toronto. I had a short layover and the flight attendant was less than helpful and apparently had never bothered to learn anything about the Toronto airport or where to go to get this information. After getting into the airport I found out that no Air Canada employee knows anything about the Toronto airport. The cleaning crew finally directed me to the Air Canada help desk after I had asked at 4 different air Canada check in desks. Thankfully I did not miss my flight."

Pros: "The service was good on the flight."
Cons: "The delay... I don't think that was air Canada's fault though. The weather had an effect on that."

Pros: "I had a missed connection due to a problem with the US visa on arrival system being down (mainly my fault for not being adequately prepared). Air Canada staff were very helpful and courteous, they rebooked my flight for the next day and helped me find a hotel for the night. Greatly appreciated!"

Cons: "The gate attendant was a little snarky; shirt with an older passenger. The snacks were just okay; almonds would be good, or kind bars."

Pros: "Comfortable seating, good service, wide variety of entertainment options."
Cons: "I’m vegetarian and the food was horrendous and extremely limited."

Cons: "The flight was an hour and a half late getting to Cincinnati due to weather in Houston. We did make up some time in the air, however, when we got to Newark, we waited over 20 minutes to be towed to the gate! This level of service is simply unacceptable."

Pros: "Everyone was friendly and cooperative from ticket counter to flight attendants"
Cons: "Nothing at this time"

Pros: "Alyessa went over & above to make us feel welcome & appreciated"

Cons: "Loaded us on the plane and kept us on the small cramped plane for 90 minutes before leaving. Just stuck sitting there"

Pros: "We missed our connecting flight any had to spend the night in Washington at our expense."

Cons: "Almost didn't get to flight. Service desk had one person checking in bags. No communication with anyone in line and they had no help. Very poor service. Only was I made it was risking taking bag on flight."

Pros: "Access to entertainment online with the app was good. Good customer service. Nice memorable suit case tag gifts for the inaugural flight. Friendly staff."

Cons: "While boarding the plane, another passenger was sitting in our seat. When I asked to see her ticket she explained she didn't have a ticket and didn't need one? I'm a flight attendant!!! Very rudely. The attitude in some of the flight attendants is wrong !!! You work in customer service help find solutions don't create problems."

Pros: "Very comfortable and enjoyable good vibe not to loud"
Cons: "There wasn't anything I didn't like it was my first flight ever and it was good"

Pros: "All was good. Crew was nice to everyone."
Cons: "Two large people had carry on bags that did fit in the overhead. They kept trying different areas and delaying boarding for other passagers."

Cons: "Fellow next to me was having a hard time with the credit card use for direct tv."

Pros: "Efficient, smooth boarding, on-time push and take off, good skill on a crosswind landing."
Cons: "Being packed into a CRJ-700 with 50 of my closest friends I never knew. Snacks are ok but nothing exciting. No elbow room (I'm not obese)"

Pros: "Plane took off and landed in one piece on time - funny how we all accept that is all that matters"
Cons: "I am a connection in Chicago from A to C concourse- too far. I came to fly not walk. Then we loaded from the front to the back - crazy. Service was slow cos too few crew. Airlines completely "dis" their customers"

Cons: "You cancelled my flight when I was in chicago to cincinnati United did not offer me anything no hotel, money back nothing and I had to be somewhere very important I didn't have my thing because it was in my suitcase which i didn't get till sunday. Ended up renting a car and driving the rest of the way. Never offer anything to help me. Then United messed up my plane ticket on my way back home almost miss my flight."

Pros: "Getting from A to B safely. Some of the crew were extremely helpful and sweet."

Pros: "My flights were on time and I didn't die."
Cons: "United Airlines doesn't have power outlets in their economy seats."

Pros: "The crew was wonderful."
Cons: "The temperature on the plane was so cold that ice was falling on passengers throughout the flight from the vents. I chose coffee for my in-flight beverage to warm up, but the flight attendants did not have lids available to offer. As you can imagine, that didn't end well on a turbulent flight."

Pros: "Everything went like clockwork, the announcements, the boarding, the take off, the landing and the on time arrival. This trip was an example of how things should go."

Cons: "Missed connecting flight and had difficulty getting help to reschedule b missed flight due to retouting to Austin"

Cons: "The flight was delayed so that I would miss my connecting flight so they change me to a different flight which was been cancelled and I had to get a different flight to Detroit where I landed as far from my departing gate as you could possibly make it with 20 minutes to get there"

Cons: "The snack food was the worst I've ever had on any flight. It was some kind of Asian-style snack and I almost gagged. Never had a snack on a plane I couldn't eat until now."

Cons: "Flight delayed so booked on another flight. Get to layover and was told that United tried but couldn't book the second leg of the flight after all. Before we left our original destination, they assured us all the arrangements had been made. Lying to customers doesn't look good for businesses."

Cons: "Seats seem to be getting smaller. Flight attendants movement is greatly reduced. It seemed that his behind every time I looked up. Not good!"

Pros: "Price and comfortable new plane"
Cons: "Male stewardess was very unpleasant/unprofessional No food or snack or water offered to my son or I"

Pros: "The flight was fine nothing to rave about or complain about."
Cons: "The cargo door did jam on the return flight so we had to wait at least 30 minutes to get our bags. Not sure if someone didn't do what they were supposed to do when securing luggage. It took maintenance some time and several calls before they came to assist."

Pros: "There is absolutely nothing that I liked about this experience!"
Cons: "They had to reroute my flight four times! Then when they finally gave me a final flight I didn't get the premier seating that I paid for! Even if it's the only flight available the next time I fly I will not book with United!"

Pros: "I liked that United got me a flight on Delta. A delay on my United flight would have taken off after my connecting flight took off from Chicago to Hartford."
Cons: "I did not get a text message or a phone call that my flight had a long delay."
