The descent to landing was to fast when near the runway, and we crashed hard like a carrier landing. I would inspect the gear and wing spats for cracks. The fuselage bowed like a banana, it was evident looking down the tube sitting the back. How about a breathalyzer or something, everybody knows the drunken pilots, the can't be fired and they know it, so it takes years to sober them up at our expense. The pilots who've been caught drinking are not trying to get better, they just whine that the others who haven't been caught yet are even worse drunks. Everybody who flys on Alaska has heard it from the same old Alaska born drunken pilots. How about less drunken bush piloting and get your drunken pilots who've been busted in the last few years to shut up and stop telling everyone that all Alaska pilots are drunks as defense of there drunkeness."

I almost missed this flight because the lack of communication on what gate the flight was from."

Cons: "A passenger caused a delay in security, and as I'm rushing for the gate, the agent closed the door and told me I couldn't board. She then marked me as a no-show, while she was standing right next front of her. I had to spend the next 4 hrs on the phone, trying to get my tickets sorted out. Then, upon arriving at Heathrow,... No luggage. They told me it was still in Chicago. Upon finally receiving my bags, I find them full of sawdust and sand, and several items damaged. I will NEVER fly American Airlines again, and I will highly recommend to my friends and family to avoid them like them plague. Horrible service! Nothing but a run-around and not once did the agents apologise, even after admitting that my problems on this journey were due to a mistake made by one of their agents."

I paid for an upgrade for row 9 - and was unfortunately seated next to a very large man, which meant that there was no escaping the fact that our arms or legs touched. Obviously an older plane, because there were no outlets (again, paid for upgraded seats). Previous flight was WAY better and I was in the regular seat."
Cons: "Without any explanation...American Airlines cancelled my reservation! I needed to be sent back to poor quality hotel for a night and take a different flight out the next morning. American Airlines was supposed to provide transportation back and forth from the hotel however a car never showed up at the hotel to pick us up and I needed to get my own taxi at the last minute (American did however reimburse me for the taxi fare at the airport). I never received an explanation as to why my reservation was cancelled and was never offered any type of compensation for such a major inconvenience. They dd ultimately waive my 25 bag fee but it wasn't very easy to even get that from them. I felt that they should have been more empathetic towards my inconvenience and offered me any type of compensation to make up for such a horrible experience. When I asked about possibly being upgraded to first class they told me absolutely not! A little graciousness can go a long way, American Airlines showed that they could not care less about my inconvenience (other than Rodrigo at the counter the next morning who actually showed he was truly sorry for the situation and at least ended up moving me to a row with more legroom). Other than this, I was extremely disappointed with this experience and how it was handled."

I usually pick American over other airlines even if the price is slightly higher but after this last fiasco I doubt I will fly with them again. From the start of the trip there was a delay. I was told that I would have to stay in a hotel in Charlotte because I would miss my connecting flight. I agreed and waited for my flight that was nearly 2 hours late. I arrived in Charlotte and retrieved my bag as instructed and went to the counter. The lady then stated that it was probably best if I tried to get on the last remaining flight even though it showed sold out because "there have been delays all day and plenty of people have been missing their connecting flights". So I rechecked my bag and headed to the game. This flight was delayed, as it was the last for the night, so that all the connecting flights could be made. Okay, that is fair enough....even though I didn't get to board and now I no longer had my bag as this is now on the plane. 30 minutes after the plane left I finally get my voucher for motel along with a $12 voucher for food that can only be used in the terminal restaurants......which are now closed for the night. After 30 minutes of trying to contact the hotel for shuttle information I was advised that they were no longer taking airline vouchers. I , again, approached the ticket counter and I was advised that I "would just have to wait because there are no rooms in the system at this time." And none of this instruction seemed professional or accommodating. After another hour I was approached that now there are no other options in their system for accommodations and I would have to pursue options on my own. So......the higher priced one way ticket just became $100 more at no fault of my own."

Cons: "We boarded on time (in fact, we were supposed to land 10 minutes early at 5:05, when our original arrival time was 5:16). At 5:10, the captain came on and said that we weren't going to arrive until 5:50, "because of a reroute from earlier." We weren't informed of this reroute until 5 minutes after we expected to land. We pulled up to the jetway at 5:45 and the jetway was broken. More specifically, the KEY to the jetway was broken and they had to call "someone from the city" to come fix it. Finally two people came and fixed it and we were able to get off the plane at 6:20 (amongst extremely disgruntled people shoving their way past the rows in front of them, which no crew member did anything about). Beyond this, the armrest between my fiance and me was missing it's plastic cover, so a bumpy piece of hard metal was digging into my elbow the entire flight. When I pulled out my tray table (from my neighbors armrest) there was gum smushed into it. I told crew and they said they'd clean it when we got to Denver, so I was stuck with it the entire flight. Last, the hidden fees associated with Frontier are insane. Our flight cost an additional $110 for seats and bags and we'll pay that again on the way home. $220 in hidden fees is absolutely unacceptable. People were actually crying at the gate because they didn't know they had to pay for all of this and didn't have the money. Not one thing mentioned here is an acceptable way to treat paying customers at any level."

Our ridiculous wait was because Frontier messed up with their staffing. They were understaffed at the Denver airport. I had to find out on my own how much the flight was being delayed because the screens at the airport never updated. It was delayed by 20+ minutes several times during our wait with no hint as to when it would stop being pushed back. This made it extremely inconvenient for the person picking me up because they have to drive longer than I'm in the air, not to mention we didn't get back until super late because of it and had to miss all of our plans. Several other families on the plane also mentioned having to cancel their plans for the evening. When we finally land, their coordinating was apparently terrible and the gate we were to exit on was occupied by another plane so we are told we'll have to wait for a while. Which, to be fair, probably wouldn't have felt like such a big deal had we not already been delayed 2 hours. But it gave the impression of a lack of urgency or care for our time. Like we were just constantly being pushed to the back of the bus. In the past when I've encountered this kind of an issue at the hands of the airline, they always offered some sort of small voucher or free beverages on the plane or SOMETHING to make us feel valued and to affirm that they simply messed up and ruined many people's evenings. The crew apologized and I realize it had nothing to do with them, but from an overhead standpoint, this was ridiculous. Southwest and Delta have always been great about trying to make it up the customer even if it's something small like a free drink on the plane. Working in customer service myself, I'm pretty disgusted about the lack of communication on Frontier's part. A lot of frustration would have been resolved if they simply told us at the gate what was going on and why we kept being pushed back. After my return trip, I will probably stick with Southwest or Delta from here on out."

Then later I got one saying it might be canceled, and then I got one saying it was canceled. I called right away & was on hold for 40 MINUTES! I was at a conference so had to miss much of a session I was in which was very frustrating. Then I was told the soonest they could get me home would be Sunday evening - really?! They couldn't even help me with another airline. So then I asked for a refund & decided to just drive home. They gave me the refund but it was significantly less than 50% of my entire round-trip ticket. They said that was because the flight out to Omaha (that I had already taken) was a lot more than the flight back to Denver - again, really?! Also all their extra charges are ridiculous - charging $30-$35 to check a bag - even more if you wait to check it once you're at the airport; and charging even more for a carry on. AND charging you if you want to chose your seat?! Do airlines not know you're going to be bringing luggage?I will NEVER fly Frontier again."

Checked bags start at $35 so to get the zone1 boarding it was worth the extra 5 dollars. This is the only negative comment I have but it was also a positive and you have to expect something for a discount carrier so my 'negative' is more of advice than displeasure."
