Upon arrival in China the 144 hour travel visa was granted with no problem within minutes, but the U.S. staff was completely befuddled by the possibility. The interrogation was completely stressful and resulted in a reschedule of the original flight and during the second attempt at flying even an email from the U.S. consulate with a link to the Shanghai/Chinese government immigration site was deemed "not official enough". i will be expecting proper compensation. I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."

Pros: "I trusted Delta to take of my clients; Delta usually did. Rather, the employees of Delta did. Now when I travel, I prefer Delta (when they aren't too much more economically). Let me change that to I used to prefer Delta, because the times, they are achanging. My home airport is Atlanta, I'm usually traveling to Seattle or Portland; Delta is king in those routes. There's more flight time options, and the entertainment available is better."
Cons: "Here's where the picky comes in. I downloaded the 'Go Go" wifi app beforehand. When I tried to connect I received a message that it wasn't available on my routes. Why couldn't they tell me that it might not work on my routes before they took my money? Further, why wasn't it available? It's not like I was going on a multi city/country trip, this was Atlanta to Portland non-stop. Then there's the 'Premier Seating". I opted for it on my outbound flight and received TSA Pre Check. I didn't buy the seating coming back; I did not receive TSA Pre Check. Coincidence? My fare was more than Alaska Airlines was offering it for, I paid for the wifi that didn't work, and in order to avoid the back of the plane, you must pay. So, I guess I'll be going to Alaska Airlines. They don't have as many flights, but I don't feel dinged for more money every time I turn around."

Cons: "The flight was canceled due to mechanical difficulties and British airways delayed helping us for 2 hours and then told us to use the phone 800 number to book a different flight. we needed to connect in London for the flight to Tel Aviv. The man on the phone barely spoke English and set us up with a flight that would not get us to our destination in time for our religious Sabbath Friday night. When we tried to explain the situation he hung up on us. We called back and tried to explain again we either spoke to the same man or another Indian man whom also spoke unintelligible English and he also hung up on us. In the mean time my wife spoke with the counter agents and they tried to find us another flight but by now other airline counters were closed. An hour later I tried the 800 number again and spoke again with the same Indian guy, when I asked to speak to a manager he gave me a hard time then finally said ok, put me on hold which I stayed for a while and realized he just put me on hold indefinitely. Finally after being in the airport for 9 hours we found a flight from United and a family member booked it online for us which we took to Tel Aviv and got us here only 2 hours later than our original flight which had a 12 hour layover in London and we were going to spend time touring but did not get to. As far as I am concerned British Airways has done a horrible job and no one should ever fly with them again. Unfortunately our flight home is with them I hope it goes smooth."

Cons: "We were at the back of the plane, which was pretty difficult for my 6'6" husband and his long legs. We were told every seat was full (because of the IT problem). However, after takeoff it became apparent that there were some empty seats, but they weren't offered to us. One man was asleep across three exit row seats, for example. We had two seats in a three seat row, which would have given us a bit more room, but a woman was moved to the window seat with us, to accommodate a religious man who didn't want to sit next to her. She was very nice, but the whole situation was annoying and distasteful. And, unfortunately, the food was just as bad as our last flight."

Unfortunately because of loading delays on our original flight, we arrived in Heathrow 40 minutes late. The crew said that 60 minutes is the designated minimum but we used all of the 80 minutes plus, and it airport was NOT crowded. If BA is connecting to BA, then you have a responsibility ahead of time to address this problem and keep connecting passengers from getting overly distressed in a strange airport."

While I appreciate that business travelers should have priority boarding, the order of coach is from front to back. Turns out SAS had switched me to a later flight without any notice. It took hours on the night I was readying yo leave for a three-week trip to find out what had happened. At best, I would have found out the next day at the airport and waited an extra three hours. Not the big fun! At worst, who knows? Would someone have been able to figure it out in time? Huge run-around!"

Entertainment got a mediocre rating simply because I didn't indulge. I might have been tempted more if I could have seen a price somewhere for the entertainment. I was very hesitant to just start swiping without knowing what I was getting myself in to."

Pros: "Although I only got a water, other people were ordering, but the older flight attendant was not at all personable and was very impolite. Being a chef, I would never give poor quality customer service as he did. My flight attendants from DEN to TYS was much more personable and made the flight much more enjoyable."

Pros: "Actually a short flight... Elal's security checks and questening was prompt and assuring as always. The boarding was good although the long bus drive to the aircraft was a bit annoying (carrying also a stroller) but this is not Elal's fault. The flight was smooth (these are the best pilots anyways...) Service was good and landing went smoothly."
Cons: "As opposed to the outgoing flight from Tel-Aviv, I could not choose our seats when I checked in the day before. In addition, even though we arrived to the express check-in stand almost first, the stuardes allocated our seats to the one before last row in two seconds... I didn't even had the chance to ask for a front as possible row (and I'm not that slow...) Since I'm also not an arguing peraon and it's not that big of a deal (thak god she didn't check us to the last row...) we survived it."

On the plane, there wasn't enough food for everyone so the flight attendants decided not to provide food at all!!! So, we didn't get the food we paid for, not to mention I'm pregnant... I fly Elal a-lot! But that experience was very very bad!"

THAN, people go on the plane with excess bags and will not use their locker space. I had a guy who's chair was raw 40 putting his bags already at raw 20. A woman brought a 42" tv on board, that was crazy. During flight was worse. Noisy around, noisy flight attendant, No dimming of the lights in the first 3 hours, no Leg room, poor entertainment and poor food. Price for all this is not cheap so I see no reason to use this airlines and I am Israeli myself."

Pros: "It was cheap (we were on UP, El Al's cheapo brand). The flight itself was fine, takeoff and landing were routine. Drinks were handed out frequently and the crew were professional if not exactly friendly."
Cons: "The hand baggage restrictions were onerous and were not handled or explained well by the folks at the gate. We had this problem in both directions. My wife was allowed a "purse" and a small suitcase, but I was not — even though we both had exactly the same thing (a backpack and a carry-on suitcase). Didn't try the food, as it cost extra."

Cons: "It was an old plane being leased from Privilege Style from Spain and the flight had sub par entertainment. On top of that, we were stuck at the gate for three hours. There was an issue with a temperature sensor. After 2.5 hours, the pilot came on the intercom to say that the flight was cancelled and that we would all be getting off the airplane soon. Then half an hour later, they fixed the problem. Then the plane had to be de-iced before we could leave. During this whole time, we had to wait 2 hours before they brought us snacks or water. Not a great first experience with El Al. I received an email that the return flight will be on the same type of leased plane. Not looking forward to it."

Cons: "The stewardess asked me if I want chicken or beef. I chose chicken. As it turned out, there was no more chicken, so she just went away, without leaving any meal for me. I needed to stop the stewards three times, so that finally, some one hour later after everybody finished eating, I received my beef meal."

Cons: "I checked in on-line and chose my wife and my seats for the flight. Our choices were an isle and a window seat. I received my boarding cards by email as selected. When arriving at the airport we were designated different seats and only after I showed them my boarding passes they agreed to change back accordingly after being informed by the person in-charge that he will make sure that someone will sit in-between us... I saw that as a threat. It was obvious that he made the change in order to take care of someone he knew! I'm not surprised. El-Al is an airline that takes care of their personal friends before its paying customers."
