Cons: "I arrived for my connection with 3 hours to spare, and Spirit wasted all of them. I was in a line that wrapped around the building OUTSIDE. The process from beginning to end was confusing (I'm an experienced traveler with years of experience as a travel agent, so it wasn't me!) and aggravating. I kept thinking, "how low of an opinion must someone have of himself or herself to work for spirit airlines?""

Cons: "waiting in the airport for 9 hours for the plane to depart. originally scheduled for a 7:15am departure and the plane departed at 4pm. there was no message prior to advise customer of a delay in flight. Poor communication at the boarding gate. When we landed in Detroit we had to sit in the plane for 20 minutes for a gate to open. Pilot said this would take 5 minutes. the whole experience with Spirit Airlines was a disaster. i plan to look elsewhere in future flights."

Cons: "Airport • Kayak as a third party website usually gives a flat rate, we pay, and that’s it. Not with Spirit Airlines. When you get to the counter you HAVE TO PAY EXTRA for your carryon ($55) and your checked bag ($50). That’s an extra $100 that could have been used to purchase a flat rate flight through Kayak. • You can only pay with a card, you can barely use cash Flight • Seating was too tight, no room to stretch out • Snacks even the minimum was expensive. $4 for a 4 oz of juice with ice and more • When descending for landing the pilot circled around for a full hour- first we were over the incorrect airport then when we arrived at the correct airport there was too much air traffic to land right away. Between the surprise fees I did not budget for and the extra GS expenses, along with everything else, I will not ride Soirit Airlines again."

Cons: "paperless boarding did not work - there are more android users than iPhone, yet, the barcode does not show up on e-boarding pass on droid phones. Also, Spirit forces people to sign up for an account to get e-boarding pass. This was not the case with my AA flight the previous day. Tray tables were on a spring so anytime the person behind my lifted it, it snapped and startled me as I was trying to sleep. Crew did not make curtsy announcement asking parents of children to silence electronic devices so there was lots of kid music, beeping, and general noise that even my earbuds couldn't cancel out."

Cons: "Our departure date was screwed up. I don't know how. Anyway, to change it to the correct date (even more than a week in advance) they socked us with a $500 change fee. And dealing with their customer service was a nightmare. I will think long and hard before EVER flying Spirit or using Kayak again!"

Cons: "The rows of seats are incredibly small, to the point the man in front of me leaped out of his seat and accused me of jamming my knees into his back. I was just sitting there and I think he was stretching back into my long legs. Really, there was nothing I could do because there was no room to move my legs out of his way. And the airline DIDNT EVEN OFFER WATER! And let's not forget that we weren't told ahead of time they charge for carry-on bags, so our affordable tickets went up $110 in cost. I will never fly Spirit again."
Cons: "2hrs late departing because of air traffic? I don't believe them. I saw a repair van on the tarmac. Seats are packed in VERY close and they don't recline. There's so little padding in the seat that you can feel the metal frame, so you're very uncomfortable. They sell everything they serve including water. There are no monitors so tv or movies are not even an option. Flight crew doesn't say good-bye, thank you or anything as you exit craft. I'm not sure what the attendants do other than offer to sell you water and tell you what you can and cannot do on their plane. They try to shame you into paying for your carry on and paying to book a seat, calling the seat they assign you "random" like they'll put you in the bathroom or out on the wing. When you get to the airport, you find the approved size for your included personal item is the size of your carry on. They don't check to see who paid for their carry on so only suckers paid. We will never ever fly Spirit!"

Pros: "I almost missed my flight, last one out of MCO that night (due to the horrible customer service of Norwegian Air) and your team did everything in their power to help me get there. I also had to leave my luggage with customs to make it, and your girl Ebony in baggage claim in ATL got it back to me in a day! You guys turned a truly frustrating situation with Norwegian into a smooth transition. Thank you so much!"

Cons: "Flight was late for no apparent reason. Flight attendant rude & unprofessional when people are frustrated from waiting, bit he is making jokes and acting street or ghetto on the job. The customers are ignorant, fussing and bickering, getting smart with other flight attendant, who's doing her job. I thought it was about to cause another delay. I thought the cheap fare was a deal but this makes the saying "you get what you pay for", true. Never again will I go near this airline. I think the cheap flight attracts a class of people that otherwise would never fly. My flight home on Southwest was excellent, only 13 more with free bags. Spirit charges cheaper prices online than at the counter and higher prices than quoted during booking. I'm done. 5 thumbs down is what this airline gets."
