From November 23, when Santiago Airport begins to allow foreign travelers to enter, all travelers (of all ages) will have to present three documents when boarding:
•A completed “Affidavit of Travelers” electronic form (available here and also known as a Sanitary Passport) prepared less than 48 hours before boarding;
•Proof of a negative result from a PCR result from a test taken within 72 hours prior to departure; and
•Proof of a health insurance policy that provides coverage for COVID-19 and related health issues during the traveler’s stay in Chile.
Foreign residents of Chile and holders of diplomatic/official passports are exempt from the PCR and health insurance.
Non-resident foreigners entering Chile who were in a high-risk country at any time within 14 days prior to their travel to Chile will have to complete a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine upon entering Chile, even with a negative PCR test.
Travelers in quarantine who undertake PCR test and receive a negative result within 72 hours do not need to remain in quarantine.
After December 7, non-resident foreigners entering Chile with the three documents described above will no longer have to complete a 14-day quarantine. They will instead be subject to a 14-day “Period of Vigilance for Travelers.” During this period, travelers will have to report daily their location and health condition to the Health Ministry through a system that will be implemented for this purpose. (This platform will be launched in the coming days.)

The luggage did not come off the plane in a very timely fashion, but the WORST part was trying to make a now rather tight connection to Miami. I had everything I needed for a boarding pass: flight number, flight time, even a gate number, but they effectively wasted all the time I had to make the next flight, with little explanation as to why. How inefficient and wasteful to then have to put me in a hotel, with meals and transfers, and to rebook me for another flight!"

About missing the connecting flight: it could have been avoidable with just a minimal amont of effort, or willingness, or any sign of care towards the passengers. Customer service is waaaaay behind my expectations."

Pretty crummy way to treat customers!"

Cons: "The auxiliary power unit on our Airbus 321 (the engine in the tail of the plane) was not working, so the air conditioning vents were non-operational before takeoff, and the engines had to be started by an additional device at the airport. Not the greatest way to start a trip. I know there are tolerances that allow flights with certain broken parts, but auxiliary power on a flight starting in the Southwest United States seems important. Also, the Gogo in-flight WiFi was not working. I am a T-Mobile customer, so it should have been free, but I never got more than Google's home page to load, so I watched a movie on my iPad instead. I wasn't expecting the WiFi, so I flew fine without it. But, for it not to work after they announced it was available was a little disappointing. The "new" American Airlines seems worse, to me."

I was told to take it as a carry-on. I told them I thought it was too large. They disagreed. In any event, I took the package to security and was told it was too large! I am really disappointed in the service and am hoping this is not because American Airlines is now running US airways."

The delays were out of our control causing us to not only miss our flight, but also caused us to have to spend more money to stay at a hotel in Phoenix since the next flight available was not until the morning. We did receive a hotel voucher but we had to pay for a taxi back to the airport as well as we had to pay extra for our car that had been sitting in the airport garage overnight. It should have been $2.50, but because it sat in the garage overnight we had to pay $20."

We felt we were unfairly being targeted for the color of our skin and our names."
