Everything was better, the seats were comfier, the tray table was larger, there was a wifi option, complimentary food and drink, much more professional staff, even the plane noise was much quieter and to top everything off we got home over 30 minutes earlier than expected. Alaska is definitely my new preference."

Well, 6:30 passed and they had my bag but they couldn't tell me when it would be delivered and they use a third party company who they didn't have a contact number for or any answer as to when it would be delivered (I needed several things for work so it was a rush). Lastly, the lady I spoke to on the phone said it was my fault that I would not be there to receive the bag the following day as they did what they are supposed to. I was really surprised with how bad this customer service was as a whole. No communication and just nasty."

At next bar, in front of gate #16 there was no bartender. After 15 minutes someone appeared, only to take orders and disappear. Finally got a drink at a restaurant, nearby, but they said the drink had to be consumed there, not taken in the plane. No alcohol was offered on the plane between JFK and Burlington. Baggage crew ripped the handle off my Rimowan luggage."

It was a plane full of first time flyers, with resulting chaos. And they kept their cool throughout."

Pros: "The check in line was a little long, but moved quickly. Then the unthinkable happened and we got wind of our friend passing just as we got to the front. The woman working at the counter felt so bad for us that she actually moved us into our own row so that we could have the space to grieve. We were also traveling with a dog so that in itself was so kind and accommodating."
Cons: "The ambient lighting used throughout the cabin was too bright and stimulating to let me fall asleep in an overnight flight, should have been dimmed more or turned off. The seats did not help the comfort levels either, should have been able to recline a tad bid more. The carry-on-bag situation is getting out of control, you should crack down on people who bring too many bags or oversized bags that should be checked in instead."

Audio jack in arm rest did not work right. Tried two bought headsets and did hear audio if pushing connector to side. Eventually returned headset. No Bluetooth option or on board wifi to use personal device with onboard entertainment. Attendant offered to move me but the plane was pretty full.

Cons: "I had selected an aisle seat when I booked the flight and was moved to a center seat without my knowledge. When I made this known to the attendant, she left to check to see if they could move me, later returned to tell me that because I was already seated they couldn't move me, though I had made it known to her prior to taking my seat. Most Hawaiian flights have in flight movies and power ports, this particular flight had neither."
Pros: "Great crew. During meal time they did a great job of having passengers adjust their seats so people could eat their meals in economy. If they didn't do this, it would be left to the passengers to ask the person in front of them to raise the seat or have to struggle to eat with that person's seat close to your face. Having the crew do that was great. That is another thing nice with this Hawaiiian aircraft. The seats actually have leg room in econonmy and they recline enough to rest. Don't change that! Also very nice is that you get a complementary wine or beer with your meal :-)"
Cons: "Entertainment options felt like 'nickel and diming'. It is a 5+ hour flight and all the seats have personal entertainment consoles. The only thing is you have to pay ~$7 to watch any of the movies. Be sure to have your book or device loaded up before flight. Each seat has a USB charging port :-), however it only has low amps - this means you can't charge things like a tablet :-(."
Pros: "Plane got turned around after 3 hours in plane. Had to change 2 flights, my rental car reservation, 2 doctor appointments with no sympathy or even care from Hawaiian airlines. Spent hundreds of dollars and got no compensation. Not happy and will never book again."

Boarding was also challenging as multiple people had to walk to the rear of the plane to store roller bags, and then travel back 'upstream' to their seat; one of the flight attendants became slightly testy when assisting these passengers back to their seat."

Cons: "The airline is so outdated and behind the times of their competitors, their in that they don't have in flight entertainment unless you download their app and give them your email address. On top of that when I originally booked my flights, I had made sure to have 1.5 hr for a layover between my connecting flights. Well, they decided to move up my connector such that I had 25 minutes to run across 2 terminals. They only give you pretzels on the plane, and a single soda drink. They offer you "food bundles" but why do I want to pay $8 for a sandwich that costs $1 to make."

It was an overnight flight, arriving before 6 am and all that was offered prior to landing was a mint...seriously, no coffee? I was in first class and expected a light breakfast but AT LEAST A CUP OF COFFEE. Never again will I pay for first class on this airline. AMERICAN AIRLINES SHOULD BE ASHAMED. 4. The crew was unwelcoming and unfriendly. Not acceptable when paying these prices."

With less than 30 minutes to departure, and still haven't gone through security, I gave up and made my checked bag a carry-on as well. And then tight seats on the plane, with no individual screens (the movie played on a tiny screen 2 rows up in the aisle.)"

Pros: "The British Airways flight to Europe had on-demand movies, with a screen on the back of the seat in front of you. The American Airlines return flight only had a cabin screen, where everyone watched the same movie. I will say, however, that the two movies I watched were excellent, so the outcome was fine (but given the option, I'd take the BA option of on-demand viewing!)."

My bag fit but I had to press the side in slightly to make it fit. She said it had to slide in without me pressing on it and proceeded to make me remove items from the bag in order to board the plane. I walked down the ramp with my extra pair of shoes and a book in my hands. As a result, I had to place my bag far from my seat due to the added time. My bag easily fit in the overhead compartment with room to spare and my being made an example was a completely pointless exercise."

I had an important meeting for early the following morning and if my bag did not arrive, I had no business clothes for the meeting. I could have bought some new cloths but since I was TOLD my cloths would be arriving by 1-2:00pm and be delivered by early evening, I thought that not necessary. I believe I was told that so BA"

Cons: "Attitude of many employees--" tough on you, suck it up. stuff happens". poor communication re flight change, rejection of AA Advantage Mastercard to pay for baggage check and get boarding pass and seat assignment. Rerouted me by 200 yards to TSA checkpoint I could see was 30 yards away. When flight arrived in SFO the arrivals board never showed it and there was no carousel shown for checked baggage. I finally had to go to customer service, where attendant just pointed to my bag on the floor with lots of others from the flight, shrugged, no apology, and chewed her gum a little faster before turning her back."
Pros: "We chose the seats with 6 inches more legroom - well worth it! We slept comfortably on the flight."
Cons: "It's always difficult getting comfortable with a stranger ext to you, but overall it was a nice quick flight."
