Allowed me to get on an earlier flight. All travel was seamless. Everyone was nice. I never have a complaint about Alaska - they’re the best
Alaska is a great dependable airline!
Pros: "Really friendly crew. Smooth flight very positive experience. 10/10"
Cons: "The air wasn’t really working on the flight and it was veyy try hot outside"
Pros: "The crew was amazing but I have to say the seats were very tiny and very uncomfortable."
Cons: "The crew was amazing but I have to say the seats were very tiny and very uncomfortable.I guess just start with you would have to give a little bit more room on your seats the seats itself and of course around the seats so we can at least be able to stretch our legs and our backs"
Pros: "On time, early, even"
Pros: "Crew was very good"
Pros: "The crew was awesome, the flight was fast, and I made it home safe. I love Alaska Airlines!"
Cons: "I wish there was free snacks for my 5-6 hour flight."
Cons: "The seats felt hard and the speaker was loud enough to hurt my ears. Otherwise it was great."
Cons: "Courteous and servient steward!"
Cons: "It was a quick flight not much more that could be done"
Pros: "Nothing this trip :("
Cons: "Some assistance finding lodging and a voucher for lodging and food at the very least"
Pros: "Super comfortable seats, crew was amazing very tentative."
Pros: "Um rude staff who couldn’t even be bothered to tell us where we would claim our bags, with ORD being a bit unclear for Alaska Airlines. Seriously, just communicate and be polite human beings."
Cons: "For an hour long flight, it seemed like enough time to serve more than just 4 choices; 1 beer, 1 wine, juice or water. I’ve been on flights that were 45 minutes and served an entire meal. Of course, what they do is still great and I am very grateful."
Pros: "It was a very pleasant trip. Everything went as expected."
Pros: "We left on time, arrived early and the flight attendants were great!"
Pros: "There was one crew member who was super nice and had a smile who kept going around asking if anyone would like refills or anything. Also, I like that there were charging ports... even if I didn’t use them. And there was plenty of leg room. Lastly, there was a flamboyant crew member who was really nice as well. I liked him a lot."
Cons: "There was this one older stewardess with short blonde hair who had an attitude the whole time. While she was trying to do drink orders a man had spilled his drink so he asked her for a napkin. She rolled her eyes and gave it to him. I was in an isle seat and I got hit in the back with the cart and all she said was “get out of my way I’m coming through” and it actually really hurt. I got bumped by her another three times. And by no other crew member was I hit on my side. Maybe she was just having a bad day..... or maybe she didn’t like her job.... but it definitely showed."
Cons: "The passenger sitting to my left kept falling asleep and his head kept falling on my shoulder. Not quite what I signed up for. Also the inflight entertainment app was very glitchy and I could not get it to work properly."
Pros: "Seats were very comfy from PDX to Ontario. Liked the fig bars. Good selection of beverages. Friendly crew. Smooth landing."
Cons: "Soooo disappointed that you needed to pay for the internet on the smaller planes while on the larger one it was included in the price for us lowly Economy flyers. The flight from SEA to PDX was tight with the smaller seats. My husband is a big man and if he had not been sitting next to me and been a man I did not know it would have been VERY uncomfortable. The flight from PDX to ONT was better with the seats but again we had no way to charge our devices and were asked to pay for the WiFi. Really??? In this day when EVERYONE uses them you are going to punish economy??? If you offer WiFi on the big ALaska planes then it should be offered on all of them. Not sure how hard it would be to wire in charge ports but someone should be working on that."
Cons: "Southwest and JetBlue are superior in all aspects of experience for the customer."
Pros: "Left on time, arrived on time."
Pros: "We love flying Alaska Airlines. Staff was very helpful. Lots of leg room. And we arrived ahead of schedule."
Cons: "Our original flight had to be re scheduled and we arrived later than planned but it all worked out well."
Pros: "It was great to have fewer people on the flight so we could all spread out on the seats"
Pros: "Flight and boarding was quick. They announced hour delay an hour before flight time."
Cons: "Flight was delayed by 1 hr. They only offer cheez it’s as snacks and I am lactose intolerant."
Pros: "The crew was nice and the drinks were fine."
Cons: "We waited an hour and a half before we started boarding"
Pros: "Trip. Was pleasant and uneventable."
Cons: "Having to take luggage with you everywhere. Would love to check baggage but can't afford..."
Cons: "Mix up when we landed - had to sit on the tarmac for about half hour before a a slot opened up to park the plane."
Pros: "The only perk was the complementary drink while flying."
Cons: "Basically everything. This was for a connecting flight. We had to go through customs and security twice at the Portland airport because the employees gave us wrong information. They offered us a shuttle to our gate since we were running late, and then the shuttle dropped us off on the completely opposite end of the airport. We literally had to sprint across the airport with 15 minutes until our plane left, and go through security our second time where the employees were rude and not even slightly helpful. While on the plane the crew was less than friendly and short with passengers. After we landed, someone from our group was also missing their bag and was informed it was left behind in Oregon and wasn't even loaded onto the plane. Seriously the worst airport, worst crew, and worst flying experience I've ever had."
Pros: "It was comfortable clean pleasant and well priced"
Cons: "noise of the engines but you can't fly with out them"
Cons: "my original ticket had a tsa pre-check on it,when i tried to go thru security it would not read so i was told to go back to the counter to have it reprinted, mind you the lines to go thru screening were hundreds of people long that morning,so i did. the reprinted ticket did not have the tsa precheck on it but the ticketperson said it would be fine if i just showed the original. not what happened,i was sent all the way back to the end of general boarding and consequently nearly missed my flight. also there was zero air in the aircraft,it was stifling hot, smelly and miserable.and once again zero ackowledgement of any mvp gold statis of any kind. im starting to wonder whats the point anymore? you used to be alot more ......nice,i guess. and honestly how many very old wrinkled up senior citizens do you guys hire? i dont feel like most of the crew would really be able to handle any type of crisis if there was one. sorry ,i used to be very happy with you and now have been taking Delta more often."
Pros: "The chardany was wonderful. Also easy boarding process."
Pros: "Plugs at every seat and they have me the whole can on ginger ale on my return flight."
Cons: "Very tiny but tasty cookies. Exit rows seats don't recline even slightly."
Pros: "This trip was my first experience flying Alaska Airlines. I was very impressed with friendly staff, on time performance and being a tall person, the roominess of the cabin on all flights. I will fly them again."
Cons: "A woman thought she had my seat. She said "I am 29A" and so I quickly got the steward so we could resolve the complication. It turned out she read 29A on her itinerary only it was for an earlier leg of the trip. Instead of understanding her accidental oversight, the steward said to us both, "you have 29C and you 29A whats the problem?" I understand he was busy, only 2 passengers booked for the same seat would cause a problem on a full flight. He should have understood her accidental self-seat assignment change because she read the seat from the earlier flight. She and I weren't trying to have issues, we just wanted to sort out what we thought was an overlap in seat assignments."
Pros: "The flight was thankfully very short!"
Cons: "Crappy service, slow boarding, lack of control of boarding passengers at gate, plane was not as clean as normally expect for this airline."
Pros: "Clean plane, smooth ride, great crew"
Cons: "Gave 4 for entertainment - only a 2 hr flight, but no seat screens"
Pros: "Super friendly staff, complimentary drinks and cheese-itz. AWESOME"
Pros: "Crew was humourous and friendly"
Cons: "Boarding area was very congested with several other flights leaving within minutes of our flight."
Pros: "The check-in was easy."
Cons: "Flight was delayed from GEG -> PDX Before departure, the pilot announced that the flight would be "very bumpy" and so they weren't going to have drink service at all and the flight attendants would stay seated for the duration of the flight. This made me very nervous for the whole flight. However, it was hardly bumpy at all. I arrived tired from getting all worked up over nothing. On the way back to Spokane, the pilot announced before departure that the takeoff and landing would be bumpy, but once we got up to altitude it would be smooth. The reality was totally the opposite. During takeoff it was quite smooth, but then there was so much turbulence at cruising altitude that the pilot came on to say they were cancelling the beverage service halfway through for safety reasons. And then it smoothed out before landing. I thought it was a bad experience on both counts. Why even bother making a prediction about flight conditions if they are so changeable? It only sets people's expectations and then they are disappointed or unsettled."
Pros: "There was flight attendants that really help out and was very polite female. Not only was she polite but ask polite if I wanted to change Seat. Thank you."
Cons: "Crew at gate never kept us informed . Did not board us at time they had posted and never announced that. I ended up just standing in a line that formed that how I knew to board. Seats were way to small and the attendant hit my arm with beverage cart. She never announced she was coming through and didn't apologize just speed by. Pilot never came oup on speaker to talk with us either"
Pros: "Crew was nice."
Cons: "Person who checked my bag in our wrong sticker on bag and flew it to another place. Was very disappointed. Did not have my bag and had Togo out late at night and buy things I needed. Got my bag later the next day. Very stressful for me and couldn't afford to buy new stuff but had to."
Pros: "It was a quick flight, and despite high winds, it was pretty smooth. Because of the high winds and potential turbulence, there was no service. The rating is mostly that boarding and the flight went well."
Pros: "On time boarding, on time departure, frequent updates by captain during flight."
Cons: "No "back of seat" TV's. You were given the option to rent a tablrt for the flight but even when doing that, they reclaim it 30-45 minutes before the end of the flight. On a cross-country, non-stop long flight it would be nice to have the TV's at all seats. Also, with the rented tablet, I was unable to track where we were or follow our progress (as we can with the in-seat TV's). Lastly, on a long-flight, they should have been better stocked. During their second trip to offer food for purchase they were sold out of many items - very limited options at that point."
Pros: "No problems, got me on an earlier flight"
Pros: "Terrible that I had to carry my carry on down the stairs to plane, lucky it wasn't raining, & then up a flight of stairs to plane with a torn rotator cuff. I felt like I was flying in the 70's. Coming back, a bald headed attendant was very rude. I did not get any refreshments on the way to Portland which they said was a rough ride but ride was smooth. That was ok, that didn't matter if our safety was involved. Also $25 for one bag is a lot to carry hair spray or a few things you can't carry on."
Cons: "I did like the refreshments served on the way back from Portland to Reno. That was nice. A different attendant served us & he was very nice."
Pros: "Glorious leg room! Some airlines have crammed their seats so close together that even someone of average height has their knees jammed into the seat-back in front of them. Not so on Alaskan Air. I had a good 4-5 inches of space between my knees and the seat in front of me. Can't say the same for a lot of other airlines."
Pros: "The flight started boarding a few minutes late but left and arrived early. Smooth flight."
Cons: "I am 6'5" and the seats are small for me. The only place I can stand upright is in the very middle of the aisle."
Cons: "Flight was 2 hours late for no reason which ended up costing me $1500 and two days to rebook my return flight. Thanks, Alaska."
The flight staff were polite, seats were comfortable, and we reached our destinations on time. This was my first time traveling first class since the pandemic. The difference in service was dramatic and made me seriously regret having paid three times more for a first class ticket. Specifically No Sky Cap lounge - One of the main reasons I traveled first class was to use the Sky Cap lounge since we were going to have to wait for our flight for several hours at PDX. PDX Sky Cap would not allow us to enter as first class passengers. The receptionist said we needed to have their American Express Card. Further the Las Vegas Sky Cap lounge is permanently closed. Food - Our first flight was early in the morning, so I thought no need to grab breakfast in the airport, I'm traveling first class. The only food we were served or offered between LAS and PDX was Biscoff cookies. Our return trip was the same. Seems the days of being served a hot meal in first class are long gone.
Pros: "Crew and service was amazing"
Cons: "Paid $28 for internet and it didn’t work"
Pros: "Went very smoothly. Very comfortable."
Cons: "Can't think of anything."
Pros: "Plane was clean & modern"
Cons: "More leg room"
Pros: "Pilot explained the flight path and landmarks along the way. Crew was friendly to us and welcomed our baby onboard before many other pax boarded."
Cons: "Seats were narrow and I’m not a big guy. 6’0”. 185."
Pros: "They got me an air sick bag since there were none in the pockets. Bathroom was very clean. Chair had bendy headrests. Didn’t have to check my bag."
Cons: "Very turbulent, seat did not stay reclined. On a redeye flight, this was the key misery-maker. Seat in front was reclined so no possible position to sleep from the middle seat, even for a short person."
Pros: "In flight service was fast and well organized. The dinner was very good. Flight was turbulent free and no isues."
Cons: "The plane was at the gate but it took over an hour for international inspection and a long time for the plane to be cleaned."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable but crowded. Was nice to have the built in screen for entertainment."
Cons: "Did not like being bumped to a flight with a five hour layover in SLC. Travel day was already very long. We booked the flight originally based on the shorter layover of an hour and a half. Seemed very inconsiderate."
Pros: "Crew was great"
Cons: "Hot in the plane and the landing was uncomfortable"
Cons: "Seats did NOT recline, which seems to be a pretty poor planning for a red eye flight."
Pros: "great trip and crew"
Pros: "The pilot, Mr. Howes, I believe, came out and personally thanked everyone for flying Delta. It was a nice touch to see the actual pilot that was flying and me home and that he shared his gratitude. Go DELTA!!"
Pros: "The crew members were excellent and efficient. Europe was fabulous."
Cons: "9+ hours in the air is never fun when you're in economy class: humans have gotten bigger as airline seats grow smaller."
Pros: "I was moved to an end Seat, as I was in constant leg pain."
Cons: "I was zitting against my Neighbor as the Seats are so narrow."
Pros: "Flight was quiet and comfortable."
Cons: "Felt claustrophobic after a while because guy in seat next to me was rather large and spilling into my seat"
Cons: "I was placed on an earlier flight as soon as I arrived at the Portland airport. The flight was full, there was no room for my bag in the overhead bins. The bag was checked, not to just Seattle but all the way to Venice. Well, surprise, surprise, the bag was lost on the way to Venice. KLM does not allow enough time in Amsterdam for luggage to make a connecting flight."
Pros: "Delta worked with us on rebooking a flight after we messed up. Onboard the staff was incredibly friendly and the free snack selection was decent (even gluten free treats). Boarding was an orderly process."
Pros: "The crew was nice."
Cons: "This was an older, smaller plane and it had more leg room. Appears I’ll have to start checking Delta to see what birds flying the leg."
Pros: "This was our first time flying Delta and it was a very pleasurable experience. Boarding was very straight forward and the seats allocated comfortable. A surprise for us was being asked if we would like to move seats from the back of the aircraft to Comfort Economy (we think it was to do with weight balance! but appreciated very much none the less). The flight attendants were very professional and helpful, as you would hope all attendants on all airlines would be. We'd gladly fly Delta again anytime."
Pros: "On time leaving and landing"
Cons: "Every thing went well"
Pros: "On time, free beer , good price"
Cons: "No movie, no charging telephone"
Cons: "I will make it my sole purpose to let everyone I know and review this on every site. Kayak messed up our flights so badly and then would not fix them. I spent 4 hours being bounced between airlines and travel sites just to be screwed with for a mistake Kayak made and would not fix. Worst company ever!"
Pros: "ATL based crew was great. Exit row extra room as promised"
Cons: "Cheese snack purchased was not up to par. Grapes soft, almonds mealy and cheese dried out. Disappointing. New faster Wi-Fi was intermittent at best. Down for long stretches."
Pros: "Flight was on a 787! Great plane"
Cons: "Food was mediocre for an international long haul fight, and was served by a completely indifferent staff! My prearranged seat choices were switched to a no recline rows and rebooking after a unnecessarily missed connection became 7 step comedy of errors ,aside from quality aircraft this felt like a budget operation."
Pros: "really great service, arrived early, as good as it gets."
Pros: "SLC ground gate crew was awesome."
Pros: "Better seats"
Cons: "The seats"
Pros: "Crew were good, flight on time, free drinks"
Cons: "TSA Pre-check info not loaded on flight from LAX to PDX."
Pros: "Typical flight, all went well. Special services picked me up at the plane."
Pros: "Friendliness of the staff"
Cons: "No complaints. I wish that the updates on the flight delay were a little clearer, but that's about it."
Pros: "Getting to the correct destination."
Cons: "The fact that the lack of knowledge regarding international travel visas by the counter staff and supervisor meant that two days of the vacation were lost. Upon arrival in China the 144 hour travel visa was granted with no problem within minutes, but the U.S. staff was completely befuddled by the possibility. The interrogation was completely stressful and resulted in a reschedule of the original flight and during the second attempt at flying even an email from the U.S. consulate with a link to the Shanghai/Chinese government immigration site was deemed "not official enough". i will be expecting proper compensation. I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."
Cons: "Seating has gotten WAY too tight. Will not do that again ... discomfort, inability to even stretch a little bit caused painful nerve flare?"
Pros: "Smooth flight; informative crew"
Pros: "Crew was wonderful"
Cons: "Nothing- good flight, I couldn't sleep but that wasn't your fault"
Pros: "Great staff, polite and helpful"
Cons: "Small seats"
Pros: "Delta has a good business product. The entertainment system was good. The food was good."
Cons: "The business class crew struck me as distracted and putout to be there."
Cons: "Snacks if possible"
Cons: "I chose my seats when I purchased tickets thru Expedia. Then for some reason Delta wouldn't allow me to keep my seats and I had to have them assigned at boarding. Why? What causes this? I was stuck in the back of the small jet from Minneapolis to Cwa when there were a few open seats in the middle. Disappointed. I won't be choosing Delta in the future!"
Pros: "I trusted Delta to take of my clients; Delta usually did. Rather, the employees of Delta did. Now when I travel, I prefer Delta (when they aren't too much more economically). Let me change that to I used to prefer Delta, because the times, they are achanging. My home airport is Atlanta, I'm usually traveling to Seattle or Portland; Delta is king in those routes. There's more flight time options, and the entertainment available is better."
Cons: "Here's where the picky comes in. I downloaded the 'Go Go" wifi app beforehand. When I tried to connect I received a message that it wasn't available on my routes. Why couldn't they tell me that it might not work on my routes before they took my money? Further, why wasn't it available? It's not like I was going on a multi city/country trip, this was Atlanta to Portland non-stop. Then there's the 'Premier Seating". I opted for it on my outbound flight and received TSA Pre Check. I didn't buy the seating coming back; I did not receive TSA Pre Check. Coincidence? My fare was more than Alaska Airlines was offering it for, I paid for the wifi that didn't work, and in order to avoid the back of the plane, you must pay. So, I guess I'll be going to Alaska Airlines. They don't have as many flights, but I don't feel dinged for more money every time I turn around."
Pros: "Long flight but smooth despite delays"
Cons: "Delayed by 2.5 hours."
Pros: "When flying using the big carriers, Delta is becoming our go to airline for timeliness and comfort."
Pros: "The ground staff at check in was excellent. She was extremely helpful. The flight was on time."
Cons: "Boarding was a scramble. The amount of hand luggage people were allowed to bring on board was excessive and the overheads were crammed full."
Pros: "Crew on both our flights were very nice and accommodating."
Cons: "United really seems to have issues with their planes. Problems on Wednesday then again today. On Wednesday we boarded late and pushed people’s flights back because the cleaners didn’t show up at boarding time and at landing time we had to go back up when the prior flight was still on the runway."
Cons: "Lol, it's United. What do you expect?"
Pros: "The crew was kind and entertaining and super helpful"
Pros: "The crew was very kind and welcoming."
Cons: "The seats are much tighter than Southwest and Virgin. My husband and I are taller (6' and 5'9" respectively) and our knees kept bumping the seats in front of us."
Pros: "Good crew, great landing, short flight"
Cons: "The seats are crampy"
Cons: "United's hidden fees"
Cons: "A little late getting started, otherwise OK."
Pros: "Customer service in Business Class."
Cons: "No communication with airlines as far as flight information. The airlines sent me gate change which was incorrect and almost missed my flight"
Cons: "Our flight was changed 6 times and then cancelled- we had to sleep in the airport"
Cons: "No entertainment for a 6 hour flight. Only served pretzels for food. Most of the crew was fine but one flight attendant was very rude, pushy, and condescending. Literally pushing me out of the way as I’m trying to board, yelling across the plane, rude comments over the speaker... honestly surprised such a large airline would tolerate this."
Cons: "Got stuck in the San Francisco airport and was promised a hotel room for the night when I departed Portland. When I arrived at SFO I was told sorry you have to just stay in the airport My next flight wasn’t until the next morning Shitty customer service"
Pros: "The agent in San Francisco was awesome and even went out of her way to bump me to a better seat. Leaving Portland was easy, crew were super organized!"
Cons: "No entertainment systems were working at all. Leaving San Francisco to kahului we had so many unruly young adults that were just out if control. They kept switching seats, spilling alcohol all over me and my stuff and the flight crew could not care less. We even had an older Asian flight attendant on flight 1749 that was just overwhelmed for the job. She would hand the person on the isle a handful of pretzels and say 'here, pass these out'. The other flight crew members made it worse by treating her poorly. You could tell they didn't like her and were agitated by her. Instead if being polite and educating, they were exasperated and impatient. Overall was super disappointed. I have flown United so many times back home to Maui and was always so please and excited to brag about how great United was. Not this time. Thanks for reading."
Cons: "Are the seats getting smaller??? And no leg room."
Pros: "It was an ok flight i guess but there was no good free in flight entertainment."
Pros: "FAST TURNAROUND OF LATE ARRIVING INBOUND FLIGHT"
Cons: "Both flights were late, seriously late."
Pros: "The crew in air Canada is awesome! They were really great and friendly. I'm impressed with their impeccable service even if it was a short flight to Vancouver."
Cons: "Flight was delayed."
Cons: "Plane departed 2 hrs late, taxied 40 min in San Fransisco for lack of access to gate"
Pros: "Chicken wrap was very tasty. Very attentive flight crew."
Pros: "the price of the flight was the best part of the deal"
Cons: "have to pay for movies, and no good selection of snacks on flight."
Cons: "Terrible uncaring old waitresses overweight, no room for luggage no room for even walk in the plane, kept asking to turn off devices when it is well known devices don't cause any problem. No free internet. Old tired planes, terrible third world airline."
Pros: "The price"
Cons: "The leg room & the service"
Cons: "Paying $25 to check a bag each way just to be able to do early check in on the app. I only had a carry on. Total scam. Shady AF. Also the United entertainment in the app does not work with Bluetooth headphones on an iPhone."
Pros: "Short flight"
Cons: "Chilly in the cabin"
Cons: "Neither my fiancée nor I were particularly fond of the inflight sauna. I had try dry my sweat soaked shirt in the bathroom while waiting to make my connection. If the flight had been any longer I would have opened the door to let a breeze in."
Pros: "I boooked through Kayak based on recommendations fron Rick Steves. When I tried to check in the night before, I was told I wasn't on the flights I had booked. Turns out SAS had switched me to a later flight without any notice. It took hours on the night I was readying yo leave for a three-week trip to find out what had happened. At best, I would have found out the next day at the airport and waited an extra three hours. Not the big fun! At worst, who knows? Would someone have been able to figure it out in time? Huge run-around!"
Cons: "See above. Also no vegetarian meal offerings."
Cons: "We had to check our hand luggage and be charged EUR120.00 We should have been aware of this before we obtained the boarding pass..."
Pros: "The plane was new and clean"
Cons: "The new seats where not very comfortable one crew member was very nice the other two were curt when dealing with the passengers or moving the cart up and down the isle."
Pros: "The sunrise"
Cons: "I was on the wrong side of the plane!"
Pros: "Liked that we landed safely and I was treated like a human being not just a seat but the accommodation s were a little under what I expected"
Pros: "Everything went well, from boarding quickly to landing ahead of schedule."
Cons: "A mother with 2 fussy babies somehow sat next to me and they were extremely bothersome. Nothing was done to accommodate the crying babies, and we all know how annoying that is."
Cons: "Seats. Not comfortable at all for long flights."
Pros: "The staff were normal and no complaints."
Cons: "I had to share my seat with the man next to me who continually had his arm and leg in my seat area. It's unfair and obnoxious to pay the same money as somebody else who then takes your already small space. I am not a large person (140lb, 5'7") and I could barely move my arms without bumping one of the people next to me. There's no reason that we should have such limited space."
Pros: "Comfortable seats with plenty legroom."
Cons: "No complaints!"
Pros: "Entertainment selection was good"
Cons: "Seating comfort was *horrible*! Looks like they've made the seats more cramped, especially when the seats recline"
Cons: "First when seated there was no room for even my purse in the overhead storage. I had to hold everything in my lap. My ticket seats were separated when I was sure I booked the seats together. The blanket given to my seat was in package but was used and very vile smelling. The flight attendant was very rude, had an attitude when I asked for a drink after I wasn't offered one. When landing and I was asleep, flight attendant hit my head to wake me up to adjust my seat to the correct position rather then in a polite way. Also luggage was not with the rest of the planes luggage and on a differnt carousel. I travel often and are use to glitches, but when cleanliness and attitude come into the picture those are things that can be controlled. I wish to no longer travel with United again."
Pros: "No one smiled or looked like they were happy with a plane full of vacationers"
Cons: "Flight was delayed by over 5 hours with very short notice. With the exception of a $10 food voucher for restaurants that were closed, United did nothing to try to make it right."
Pros: "The agent handling boarding was very helpful and friendly. The pilot did a great job getting us to SFO safely and smoothly."
Cons: "I was disapponted there was no back-of-the-seat screen for in-flight entertainment."
Pros: "Nothing, please..."
Cons: "I had a connection flight to San Francisco and then from there to Honolulu and the flight from Portland to SF got delayed 5 times to up to 4 hours late so I would've missed my second flight from SF to HNL. They couldn't do anything about it so they put me on the next available flight, the next MORNING. So I had to go spend a night in a hotel which I had to pay for and wait for the next flight in the morning the next day. Next day the flight got delayed yet again this time little over 2 hours. So I would've missed the flight from San Francisco do Honolulu yet again. This time they managed to find a little later flight and put me on that but still had to wait at the airports for over 8 hours. Super mad about how United works... Had problems with my boss as well because I was supposed to work the next day but they rescheduled my flight for that day. Really not a pleasant experience..."
Pros: "The seating was very good. We "accidentally" were issued seats in bulkhead which gave us plenty of unexpected leg room. Thank you!"
Pros: "Everything from check in to breakfast to boarding was smooth and effortless at PDX. The restaurants are layed out in a smart configuration with plenty of options on either side of security. The staff are friendly and the travelers in the airport are generally personable and in a good mood, which is a stark contrast to the majority of the nation's airports."
Cons: "The boarding process at the United gate could have been more expeditated."
Pros: "Was a nice trip"
Cons: "All was good"
Cons: "The seats are so narrow in coach that the man with broad shoulders that sat next to me could not help being in my seat. I needed to be able to sleep, since it was an overnight flight. This was not possible."
Cons: "The delay at the end of a long day kicked our butts. United's communication via boarding agents, the United App, etc was terribly delayed and unacceptable. Not having pilots in place to fly the plane was unacceptable. We will find an alternate airline in the future if possible."
Pros: "The flight attendants were great, the in cabin service was perfect, and the blanket provided was a sweet gift"
Cons: "Arrived 40 minutes before take off. Women at desk wouldn’t give me my check in ticket or give me options for another flight. She instead told me it would be $200 to get on the next flight. I’ve never been treated so poor. She couldn’t be bothered with questions or concerns. I’m now out of my flight and all the money I spent on vacation. There is no customer service number to call with actual humans to talk to. No one works at the desk during the middle of the day to take concerns or phone calls??? Over all extremely disgusted and disappointed. I want my money for my flight returned."
Cons: "This company is a scam. You pay a extra fee for everything Printing your boarding pass that will be $10. oh wait you want to take a carry on bag that will be $45. You want to check in a bag that will be $45. If you do decide to check in a bag or a carry on make sure the demensions and weight is correct there will be another fee for any luggage that doesn’t fit their rules. Make sure you get a drink in the airport ahead of time because once again they charge for standard drinks while on the plane, the extra charges just never stop! In all reality it is not worth the savings in plane ticket because of all the additional inflated prices they get you on."
Cons: "Pay for checked and carry-on luggage, no leg room, pay for everything, in the end this discount flight all charges leveled was more expensive than if I had just picked a better airline to begin with"
Cons: "Our plane had to turn around due to technical difficulties which was ok because we made it back safe but the staff handling our rescheduling was clueless. They told us to call a number so we didn't have to wait in line to talk to the counter agent and the person on the phone actually fought with me telling me I had indeed made it to me destination even though I had explained the scenario multiple times and eventually told me he couldn't do anything for me so I waited in line for 3 hours with no answers. Eventually they put us back on the plane we were on earlier."
Pros: "Nothing. Don't fly spirit unless you have no carryons or checked luggage."
Cons: "Spirit is a rip off. The prices look good on paper, but are misleading. Extra 140 dollars in fees."
Cons: "i hate spirit and was only flying them because a friend bought me the ticket. If you're using a site other then their website to book your tickets it's easy to think they are the cheapest option but they charge you for you bag no matter if it's carry on or checked and that brings the price back up to what everyone else is, if not more."
Cons: "Hidden fees, water cost money, you save nothing with the cheap fair"
Pros: "Boarding went surprisingly smoothly."
Cons: "All of the extra charges, seats don't recline, and the tray table was tiny."
Pros: "The Seat"
Cons: "The rude staff"
Pros: "Friendly staff. That's it"
Cons: "They cancelled my Wednesday night flight and could not reschedule another flight till Friday to vegas but could not guarantee a flight from Vegas to Chicago. The next guarantee direct flight to Chicago is Sunday night. This is the worst delay I have ever gotten. Will never fly Spirit again."
Cons: "The crew wasn't terribly helpful and it was freezing on the plane. They did find time to chit chat with fellow staff that were flying as passengers. There was no entertainment. I wouldn't fly Spirit again"
Cons: "Had to cancel the flight because I was admitted to the hospital emergency on the day of flight with possible colon cancer. I am still in the hospital today, tests said no cancer but a virus infection that is being treated with antibiotics. Should be released in a couple days. Can I reschedule the flight??"
Cons: "I didn't like that I had to pay DOUBLE for my baggage which consisted of ONE backpack the size of a carryon. This bag costed almost as much as my ticket. The flight itself was sketchy due to the pilot telling everyone on flight that the plane had an "unexpected error" which delayed one of our flights almost an hour. When the planes landed, it was rougher than any other plane I've been on. Also, my return flight home was CANCELED WITHOUT WARNING. None of the travel agents offer to help find me a new flight home nor did they offer to pay the difference of having to book a NEW TICKET THROUGH A NEW AIRLINE nor offer to help for my UNEXPECTED COST OF HAVING TO STAY IN PORTLAND ANOTHER NIGHT. The agents were rude and not helpful in the least bit. I will NEVER fly Spirit Airlines again."
Cons: "This is pretty much the Megabus of airplanes. If you're looking to travel on a budget and have low expectations than you're good. I got to airport early and 2 hrs before departure there was still no gate number on display board. 1hr to departure still no information..I happened to stumble upon the waiting area (only marked by package size display) while doing a 10th time search of the airport..which isn't small. I didn't mind so much the flight delay..but there was lack of direction and information for waiting/boarding the plane."
Cons: "I will never fly with Spirit again. Their tickets are cheap but they make up for that by charging the highest bagging fees I've every paid. If I checked my bag it would be cheaper than carrying it on! Even though I AM THE ONE DOING THE WORK. Every time I fly with Spirit they increase the carry on price. I flew with Alaska last week and there was NO carry on price and $25 for a checked bag. Not to mention the leg room of their seats is minimal, especially for a tall person and their planes just seem old and run down. Their staff obviously HATES working for them. I've witnessed numerous bad attitudes from their flight attendants towards other passengers. I've had someone be overserved alcohol on a Spirt flight and they puked all over me! The flight attendants that overserved the guy barely gave me any towels or anything to clean the vomit off of my purse and legs. The icing on the cake this time for me is that now on top of exorbitant carry on baggage fees they NOW CHARGE $3 FOR A WATER BOTTLE. This airline is a complete joke and they have taken my money for the very last time. Stay away from them if you possibly can."
Pros: "Plane didn't crash"
Cons: "You basically need to pay extra for everything, seats very uncomfortable - don't recline! Cabin crew loud and disruptive on a red eye"
Pros: "Plane left on time"
Cons: "Baggage charges"
Cons: "The flight was cancelled and no clear reason was given. I tried to call for help but it would be over 20 min before I could speak to anyone and I was supposed to leave for the airport in a couple hours on my previous schedule. Told to make own changes on line which I did with a little struggle. 3 hours later Spirit called me saying they would put me on another airline, and tried to tell me my changed reservation did not exist. I told them I recieved confirmation of the change and they then said it should be good to go then, but I felt unsure everything would go smoothly. The delay also changed my rental car rate to be more even though I would now have the car a day less"
Cons: "delay because of oxy mask malfunction."
Cons: "My father bought me this plane ticket to go visit my family. Even though he paid for the flight, I was then responsible for paying for my seat and bags for both round trip flights. This airline is best described in one word: ghetto. My flight home was cancelled due to high winds in Las Vegas (which I understand is not the airlines fault). However, the airline did absolutely nothing to accommodate their customers in finding a new way home. When I called customer service to try to find a new flight, the man assisting me was extremely rude and unhelpful and when I asked to speak with his supervisor he hung up on me! Thankfully, Alaska Airlines took care of me and found me a flight to Los Angeles, where I then had to rent a car and drive home to Las Vegas, arriving at 5 in the morning, a 16+ hour day of traveling (which then led to me getting sick and missing 2 days of work). To top it off, spirit airlines then emailed me "we are so sorry, here's a $50 voucher". First of all, what in the hell is $50 going to do???? Second, how about you refund my money for my checked bag and seat on the plane and refund my father his money for the flight that never occurred? Or how about refunding me the $500 i paid in a new flight to LAX and rental car so that I could get home? I am extremely disappointed in spirit airlines and will NEVER use them ever again. And I will make sure to let everyone I know follow the same advice too."
Pros: "Efficient boarding is the only good thing I can say."
Cons: "The crew was nice but pushy. On both flights they kept focusing on people's bags under their chairs with unnecessary persistence. Since Spirit doesn't really offer anything at all they just stood at the front of the plane after flying through with the cart that only offered something you have to pay for. Then at the end, annoyed everyone trying to sell them the credit card. Both flights were over an hour delayed due to missing mechanic paperwork. The flight was not cheaper then other flights but matched up to the times I needed - (After the delays, not really) and so I booked. Totally forgot I was going to get charged an outrageous amount for my carry-on. This airline is a crock. AVOID."
Pros: "Flight crew was great"
Cons: "Unless you're seated in the front of the plane there isn't any leg room! They nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING! They charge for carry-ons! Never have I been on a service that charges more for Carry-ons than checked-in luggage! I mean seriously! Unless you pay $59 for their "Club" luggage is not cheap! Why would I pay for discounts with this airline? No comfort! No entertainment whats so ever! No free beverage! Carry-ons are more expensive! My plane ticket only cost $89! But the luggage fee is $52 EACH WAY! My luggage cost more than the plane ticket its self! Ridiculous! NEVER EVER AM I FLYING WITH SPIRIT! WORST AIRLINE EVER! Avoid!"
Pros: "Nothing at all. They changed our gate back and forth several times."
Cons: "Wasn't clear that you have to pay $50 each way for your carry on. This made my $100 ticket 210 with the tax from the carry ons. Just didn't make sense to me thag i paid more to fly a bag than I paid to fly myself. No logic here and if it would have been clear before I purchased i wouldn't have booked with spirit airlines. You also have to pay for any beverage or food on the plane as well as pay for your seat on your plane. Essentially you buy a ticket to have the opportunity to buy a seat on a plane. Again no logic."
Pros: "I am scared of Flying. My son sent me a ticket to spend the First Christmas with his 10 Month old Twins! Although his gift was my Ticket, he still had to pay a substantial fee to check one bag. When I looked at my email from Spirit, I saw that I even had to pay for my Carry-on!! I tried to communicate that to my Son, but he was getting conflicting information from phone calls and Spirit online. Finally, after much angst, He had an agreement that my other Son who spent the days before Christmas with me, would take care of the Baggage fees at the airport when he drove me on his way back to New England, if needed. A substantial fee WAS then needed for the carry-on. Traveling on Christmas, and trying to save money on a flight was my goal when you are being given such a wonderful gift, but it was difficult for me to see the cost go up and op each step along the way, that increased what my sons had to pay on my behalf and the time and communications they had to go through (they are a Doctor and a Professor), in order to do something so nice for me! It is great that Spirit has low fees, but carry-on fees outside of the ticket price are particularly troubling and not being able to have water or my trusted Diet Coke on a flight from LA to MD on a Red Eye without paying for it is extreme! Your Pilots and staff along the way were GREAT and Helpful I have flown many, many times here and abroad, but I have never seen 4 sets of Pilots any better or more competent on take-offs and landings than your Pilots! They have been trained well. I have to go on another trip to OR in July for a special event. I live on a fixed income, and would fly Spirit again based on my experience."
Cons: "The obscure Tag Ons along the way. Your communication is not absolutely CLEAR to the person buying the INITIAL ticket from Spirit or another ticket servicer like Kayak. Costs for 1 Carry-on and Water and soda should be included in the ticket Cost."
Pros: "Impossible to check in online without a printer, get with the times. Spirit doesn't participate in TSA PreCheck."
Pros: "- The leather on top of the plastic seats - Small tray tables (I actually like the size)"
Cons: "- I get you're trying to make Spirit "FUN" and I'm a Millennial who works in advertising so I'm assuming this is part of your Brand but everything from cabin announcements to safety procedures to flight attendants asking for trash, attendants FORGETTING ON THE INTERCOM FORGETTING WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO SAY "I forgot what I was going to say, my brain isn't working today" - it bordered UNPROFESSIONIAL - and personally I felt it was trying too hard, flat jokes - it looks SLOPPY not "cool" - SERIOUSLY $36 for a carry-on each way?! MOST EXPENSIVE FLIGHT TO PORTLAND I'VE EVER SPENT IN THE PAST 10 YEARS. You tack these one AFTER we purchase the non-refundable flight. It's deceptive my friends/family and I all vowed to NEVER FLY SPIRIT AGAIN and we go up to the Pacific Northwest every year. - Plastic seats - the person behind had their knees were against my seat because the space is so small - he felt bad - I felt bad - and there was leftover trash in my seat"
Cons: "When I was boarding, they pulled me aside and told me I was being charged $100 for a carry on bag fee! That ruined the whole flight! So much for being a competitive priced flight! Spirit deceives their "low fare" prices. Won't be using Spirit again...can't trust them!"
Cons: "I checked in online but needed to drop my bag off at the airport. There were only a few people in front of me in line but it took about 30 minutes for me to drop the bag off. There were several employees behind the counter that didn't appear to be doing anything. Once I dropped if off they said I needed to be to the gate 10 minutes prior to boarding. I was put off by their need to rush me when I was there far earlier than I needed to be, but they made me wait."
Cons: "The fact that they charge so much for bags and that I didn't know that they also charged for carry on bags. The staff was miserable, the seats didn't recline. Overall it was the worst airlines that I have ever been on and I never want to fly them again."
Cons: "$55 for a carry-on baggage? $15 for a seat? A $190 ticket became a $315 ticket at the end of the trip. The girls at the ticket counter were looking at their cellphones and were not friendly, the flight attendants did not greet me when I got on or off the plane - both directions. It was an awful experience. I will tell all my friends to never fly Spirit. This was a huge miss, Kayak"
Cons: "Cancelled my first flight. Delays I have dealt with before, but never have I had flight just cancelled on me. I got another flight scheduled for 24 hours later. Ok, that would have to do. Then a few hours later they cancelled that flight on me. At this point I just gave up and got a refund. I then was able to book two last minute 1-way flights for ~$150 more."
Cons: "flights was delayed there and back when was totally canceled for two days"
Cons: "The cost of baggage not shown when purchasing ticket."
Pros: "Boarding was alright, pretty quick and that's about it."
Cons: "Well let's start at the check in, so I got to an airport about 40 minutes before my boarding(usually what I do when I fly with Southwest), went on to check in my bag, once I got there the receptionist was extremely rude, as well as uneducated on the layout of the gates, as soon as my bag got checked in she threw it off the scale and told me to move on as soon as I asked her why she is being so aggressive with my baggage. Then when I was boarding there were no smiles by the crew, the seats were extremely uncomfortable, and I was waiting for a water for about 15 minutes asked a crew member again and she responded with "You are not the only passenger here, I will bring you your water once I'm done with other passengers" and for the 15 minutes I did not see her help a single customer. I am so disappointed in this flight that I am not flying with them back, instead I spent just a bit more and will fly out of Chicago with a different airline. Avoid spirit airlines at all costs!"
Pros: "It was on time"
Cons: "Dirty, small cramped seats that didn't recline, no TV, no complimentary drinks, and encounter with a very rude pilot and flight attendant from spirit who were passengers flying free who talked loud the entire red eye flight even after being asked politely to refrain."
Pros: "The flight attendants were great!"
Cons: "The attendants at the airport were really rude because I went to check in minutes before they "closed"."
Cons: "The employees, they were so disrespectful!!!!"
Pros: "Flight was cancelled and they could only get me another flight 2 days away"
Pros: "Normal stuff was fine"
Cons: "2 hour delay nearly missed a concert"
Cons: "Lost bags, dated delapidated planes, I get that it's a budget airline, but this really sucked!"
Pros: "I upgraded my legroom, and liked how affordable and easy it was to do that. I also packed a bag that fit the "personal item" parameters and had zero problems. In fact I may fly light like this from now on! The service staff from check in to flight crew were all friendly. With Spirit knowing what they offer and what they don't is the key to happy travel."
Cons: "The seats were extremely hard. I didn't realize how uncomfortable I was til I got in the cab after my flight and a basic seat felt luxurious. The following day my body is SORE. I also wish they provided wifi for purchase."
Pros: "I appreciated the leg room on the seat. Thank you for the second row seat"
Cons: "This airline charges for everything, the seats are uncomfortable, the tray tables were tiny and dirty, the flight attendants have no idea what is going on, they push the spirit credit card (about a 15 minute pitch over the intercom), we had a five hour layover when other flights were available, and it was only a few dollars cheaper than other airlines. I will never fly with Spirit again."
Pros: "Easy boarding, cheap flight"
Cons: "No cups of water on the flight, no complimentary snack, carry on and check in bag horrifically expensive, cheeper to mail my baggage, one bathroom."
Pros: "We got there with no problems."
Cons: "I feel that it is quite shady that they charge for everything, even water. I'm mostly upset about the baggage fee. If we hadn't been warned about the charge ahead of time by a family member, we would have been charged $100 per bag each way. This is a horrible situation to put unsuspecting people in. I'm sure tons of people are caught unaware and charged this outlandish fee at the counter. At least give them the charge everyone else gets, not double. Very sneaky."
Cons: "Gave us no option but to take a refund or rebook for the following day, which was not an option for me as I have work in the morning. Had to wait 2 hrs in line to get my refund; they refused to process it over the phone. This was my first time booking on Spirit and I will never fly them again, and I will warn my network not to as well. Absolute garbage service."
Cons: "Flight was delayed the way there and back. The plane sounded like it was struggling during the ascent I really resent the fact that I had to pay 110 total to bring carry-on luggage; this completely negated the discount I thought I was getting. Never again will I fly with this airline. Lesson learned."
Pros: "Basic and simple"
Cons: "A free soda is always nice"
