Cons: "Let me preface this by saying that prior to this experience I generally though highly of JetBlue. To change my opinion of them, JetBlue had to monumentally screw up, which they did. This was the worst experience I have had on any airline, ever. Why I am mad: - I had a 4.5 hour delay due to maintenance that caused me to miss a flight to India. The 4.5 delay was on a 50 minute flight from Portland, ME to JFK. I nearly could have driven faster than JetBlue got me to New York. - Because of my missed flight to India, I missed day 1 of a two day wedding of which I am a wedding party member - In order to get to India in time for day 2, I had to book a new flight on a different airline for an additional $1000, on top of what I paid for my original flight to India - I was originally told by JetBlue in Portland, ME that they would offer me a reimbursement for the Portland flight, a hotel in NYC, and a travel credit for the trouble. While not totally satisfying since I was still going to miss a day of the wedding, I thought this to be a fair enough offer. - However, at the JetBlue desk in JFK, they completely reversed course. I was told that all they could offer me $100 travel credit. No reimbursement for Portland flight. No compensation for the extra $1,000 flight I had to book. And best of all, no hotel in New York, I was stranded at JFK for the night. I spoke with a supervisor at the desk who repeatadely told me that JetBlue had done their job in getting me to JFK and that they were not responsible for anything after I arrived to JFK. A 4.5 hour delay on a 50 minute flight is bad. Being steadfastly unwilling to compensate for missed flights is worse. And stranding me in JFK after telling me they would offer me a hotel room is just plain unacceptable. My family will be cancelling their JetBlue credit cards and we will look elsewhere for flights in the future."

The seats felt old and the "entertainment" on the plane did not work well the sound was barely tolerable it was crackling and high pitched. On my previous delta flight everything felt clean and up to date and I even got a free alcoholic beverage. Lately it seems the quality of the flights has gone down where I used to hold it above other airline services. I fly out of Portland Maine a lot and I know it might not be top priority to get a decent plane up there but it would be nice to be on a plane that doesn't feel like one of the crappy spares."

Is this how you behave with a girl of 19 years, asking her to stay at the airport. She was refused Hotel and Lounge stay by your team!!! Is this what you call customer services??? Obscene services is what I would like to term it as!!! My daughter asked them to give this is writing, which was refused to her. Why are your people scared to put it in writing if everything that you are doing is right by the Law??? I was left with no other option but to book her on American Airlines flight today departing at 9 pm to ensure that little girl doesn’t have to spend close to 24 hours at airport by paying $423. Cons: "My flight was delayed, which would have caused me to miss my connecting flight. The customer service person was not at all helpful, and told me there were no other flights available on any airline until the next day. However, I was able to go online and book another flight immediately...which means that she was either being disingenuous or actively undermining efforts to get me home in a timely fashion. Very disappointing and as a SkyMiles member would have thought there would be some level of common courtesy dealing with a non-weather related delay that drastically impacted my travel plans."

Cons: "Ended up stuck at Laguardia for 9 hours, tried to get onto earlier flight and wasn't able to because as I arrived as the jet bridge door was closing. The delta crew was pleasant, but I sat at the terminal watching to see how quickly that plane would back out to depart.... it sat there for another 45 mins, while I sat there wishing I was on it. My later/original flight ended up being delayed multiple times (not due to weather) and given no explanation for why."

I was very relieved, however, when we arrived at JFK and AA had a point of contact helping folks with close flights. We originally had 3.5 hours to make our connection to BWI, but due to the delay, had less than an hour to go thru Passport control, rescreening and entry to the terminal, but we made it. Thank you for the personal representative. I did not get her name, but she was very, very helpful."

She half-heartedly tried and then told me it "didn't fit". By simply turning it on its side, I was able to easily make it fit, but it was uncomfortable for me to have to do so while also holding my baby! The flight attendant then commented that I couldn't have the child in a carrier during the flight (something I am well aware of!). She also neglected to offer us a snack later on. Overall, she was rude and inconsiderate and made a difficult trip more unpleasant."

Cons: "i decided to purchase a separate direct flight at a different time instead of changing my flight, only to be informed later when i tried to hop on the back end of my original flight, that they had canceled my ticket since i hadnt boarded on the front end of that flight. i had spoken to a customer service rep about my option before purchasing the extra ticket, and she did not mention that this would be an issue. then i had to pay extra to get back on my original flight."

Pros: "Americans new 737s are pretty cool. The interior design is modern almost spacious. Seat back entertainment centers are like something you would find on international flights. There is even an A/C plug to charge your electronics. The seats don't just recline, they tilt the seat as well as the back. That said, the seat depth is akin to sitting on a picnik bench."
Cons: "I did not like the fact that while I selected seats when I made my reservations they were not held when I confirmed my return flight on line. The gate attendant informed me that since I did not book thru AA my selections were " requests" with no obligation to reserve the seats."
Pros: "American Airlines is my favorite Airlines to fly. There is a little more leg room and the seats are a little wider. The staff is very professional and courteous."

Lastly, these delays caused the plane to arrive in Tokyo at 12:30AM (originally it was 10:30PM). All transportations options were closed. I had to take a $90 USD taxi fare into the city. JAL or AA should have given travel vouchers to everyone who needed them. BAD SERVICE, BAD COMMUNICATIONS, BAD RATING."

WHEN I BOARDED THE PLANE I COUNTED 7 OVERHEAD STORAGE BINS ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE TO MY AISLE WHERE I WAS SEATED WERE NOT FILLED AND THERE WERE SEVERAL SUCH BINS ON MY SIDE OF THE AISLE (I DID NOT HAVE TIME TO COUNT THEM BEFORE I SAT DOWN). I ASKED AN ATTENDANT WHY THIS WAS SO GIVEN WE WERE TOLD THE BINS WERE FILLED JUST AS WE BOARDING FROM THE DEPARTURE AREA. SHE WAS POLITE AND SAID SHE WASN'T SURE ABOUT WHO MADE THE ANNOUNCEMENT IN THE TERMINAL BUT THAT IN ANY EVENT MY CARRY ON WOULD ARRIVE SAFE AND SOUND IN VANCOUVER - IT DID BUT WITH MY BOOK FOOD SNACK WHICH i HAD INTENDED TO USE WHILE ON MY WAY TO CHI. AND VAN."

Cons: "After three years of flying all around US, realized United is the worst of the three major legacy carriers. I'm star alliance gold and it's still a painful experience. Crew admitted in latest redesign of planes they've managed to squeeze another six seats in coach. My seat wouldn't go back but even if it did, would feel too guilty for person behind to do it - so little legroom on newer planes. They've also cut down on restrooms so for most of the flight there was a line of 5-6 people waiting in the aisle. American Airlines seems to have older planes but at least decent legroom (and I'm not tall - anybody over 5'10 would have to sit at an angle on new United planes!). Been very impressed by Delta's service lately. United feels more like Spirit"

But thes days, the basic ticket costs are high and increasing despite ala Carter pricing. The flights are always full and the number of flights are down. Airline profits are at a peak yet very little is flowing back to improve the flying experience."
Cons: "No agent to check in when I arrived at airport. Only at gate. No advance check in or advance seating. Allowed passengers to have more than 2 bags. Flight was late. No help getting to next gate or holding aircraft. Absolutely uncomfortable sitting."

Cons: "Payed to upgrade seat was not comfortable and person next to me kept moving onto my side. Flight was 2 hours late so I missed my connection and had a terrible time to find a flight home. United staff was not helpful and kept telling me to go somewhere else for help. No food was served only tiny packet of way too spicy pretzels. Sat on the runway for an hour. Flight crew said 15 min and it was much longer. Crew seemed to be really confused."

Cons: "The seat I was on could not be reclined. This was most unpleasant because it was an overnight flight. You should earn the clients - even economy passengers - when this seat is the one being assigned to them. I would payed beforehand to get a more comfortable seat if I'd known I was to fly on a no-reclining seat on an overnight flight."
Cons: "They delayed the flight due to "operational difficulties". I understand this happens, however, their communication towards customers was unacceptable. They first announced a 20 min delay, followed by another 30 min, then 30 more and then 30 more than then 30 more! They basically kept us at the gate for 2 1/2 hours until the found another plane. For a business like United, and flying out of their hub this is completely unacceptable. We ended up leaving at 11pm for a flight scheduled at 8. They didnt give anything in the plane to make up for it. No food, no free wifi, nothing."
