Traveling first class, the seats are a little wider than in coach and have a little more leg room, but calling it "first class" is a bit of an exaggeration. It's more like what coach used to be before the days of the flying sardine cans."

Gave us a “discount” with a nearby hotel that was more expensive than what you could book it for online. Had to wait several hours for them to get us back the carry-on luggage that they insisted we check in the first place."

The time spent was around 6 hours....4 of them the were on one continuous phone call where we were bumped back and forth between West Jet and Delta. The problem was never fixed and we haven’t flown home yet. We have new flights booked on Delta but only because Delta took pity....West Jet does no refunds or reticketing. If flights are missed you're out on of luck!"

The 1000s of people to make your flight in an hour at this unfamiliar airport Now try to do that when your wife also has to get around with her scooter and try to stay together. Then if your flight gets moved to another gate...and you have 10 minutes to do ALL this again... Never mind the bathrooms while one of us watches the scooters while the other uses the facilities and this is Impossible. Never mind the narrowness of the elevators. STRONGLY SUGGEST AN AIRLINE EMPLOYEE TRIES TO SEE THE PROBLEMS FIRST HAND with a scooter, THEN RECOMMEND FIXES. And don't get me started on the restarants with tables too close together if you use a scooter. Toronto airport is better as a comparison. Alton and Mary Cason"

When we finally arrived, our Gate was taken by other plane already and we had to wait (more) for the first one to be available for us. Then, when we finally got our Gate, there was another issue, now with the "finger". They weren't able to move it and connect it to the plane to get off of it. So we had to wait AGAIN. And finally as soon as we got off the plane, they were supposed to give us our carry ons on the aisle (Because it was a small plane CR700) , but again, we had to wait almost 10 minutes so that they could send the luggage... To make things worse, I had a first class ticket and I couldn't get the perks of it at the airport. Because they said I wasn't flying in an international flight. Come on?! Canada->USA->Mexico is not International??? You lost me AA."

Cons: "Connections to US destinations now require your checked in baggage to be processed before you can proceed to your connecting flights. The real problem is that this is no sign or communications describing this. Everyone is simply stopped in the corridor and told that they cannot proceed farther until their name comes up green on a monitor. Unfortunately the monitor switches displays so frequently that it is almost impossible to read. In addition to that it seems names do not always appear on the monitor unless you get your boarding pass scanned a the desk (this is not communicated to you unless you ask why your name is not on the monitor at all). People late for connecting flights (because of inbound flight delays) are required to wait without explanation sometimes needlessly if they don't have a checked bag. A nightmare if you're trying to make your connection. In addition once you've cleared that hurdle you need to go through security again (something we were unprepared for since we were already in the secure area. You then proceed to customs and then your connecting flight (if you haven't already missed it by then). Allow lots of time to get to your connecting flight, and ask to get you boarding pass scanned at that mysterious "checked bag" stop in the corridor."

Cons: "Real nightmare as I had booked YUL-LYS-BRU with Brussels Airlines (SN). YUL-LYS was operated with Air Canada. Came within 4 minutes of missing flight despite being at airport 3 hrs early. SN had not released ticket to Air Canada so they could not check me in. Had to call SN customer service after AC could not check me in, then wait and wait as they had to try to correct the mistake 3x before AC counter could issue boarding passes. Terrible experience going through this with 2 small kids waiting. It’s as if the two airlines’ systems don’t communicate but passenger is responsible for resolving."

Cons: "First I get to the airport in Montreal to fly with Lufthansa.as I bought my ticket with Lufthansa.. ..made line for about 15 min they tell me it is not with them, it is with air canada..no reason why...so I did made line again..the hours of that fly were the same.. but when I landed in Geneva somebody is waiting for me to tell me my fly has been cancel..so I had to fly to Zurich instead and not only that I had a meeting today getting into barcelona but with the new schedule instead of arriving to 400 pm I ended up getting there at 730pm..and to add to this it is a 4 days trip so I already lost one..and I still not in Barcelona so will see what happens to my bag."

Pros: "The passengers, the Brussels airport retail area, 1 of the flight attendants who was polite and welcoming, and the entertainment selections. Finally being connected to Swiss staff."
Cons: "The crew was not very welcoming and was borderline rude when I asked any sort of question such as why I was not allowed to wear my headphones prior to take off. I was patient in not wearing them, but could not relaxing into the trip for the 40+ minutes we remained on the ground mostly not moving. I was tired when boarding and fumbled with my documents and was very curtly told to just hand them over. Another time I accidentally mistook headphones the stewardess was handing out for something else. I took a pair and then immediately gave them back with an apology that I didn't realise what they were, but thanked her anyway. This was met with a scowl and a bit of opposition. There was one stewardess that was very nice and accommodating out of the entire crew. On top of this the toilet seat on the plane was broken, so it fell on you when you were trying to go to the bathroom, and the soap dispenser was broken. I didn't dare mention these things to the flight crew though. The plane was late taking off from Montreal, and so was late landing in Brussels. No effort was made to provide connections assistance, or provide directions on where to go to rebook our missed connections. I and all others traveling to Zurich spent the entire morning trying to find anyone from Air Canada to help us rebook our flights. We literally were going from desk to desk between two terminals, and consulting each other as we went to limit the amount of leg work we all had to do. We all had to finally leave the terminal area and go to Swissport and stand in a long slow line. By that time any afternoon flight was already overbooked. So I and a group of other passengers were booked for an evening flight which forced me to book a hotel in Zurich because I couldn't get to where I needed to be that evening. After being rebook, I still tried to get on an earlier flight by going directly to the gate. It was confirmed that there was some extra space available, but they would not switch me to the earlier flight because I had a checked bag that I could not separate me from. Ultimately my bag was lost which made me have to stay awake and in the Zurich airport even longer after I finally arrived going from one lost baggage representative to another, and then waiting in another line to finally fill out paperwork because my bag had never been scanned in Brussels. The Zurich representatives were very polite, helpful, and efficient compared to anyone I encountered in Montreal, or Brussels. I was without my bag for 3.5 days of what was supposed to be a 10 day trip. My trip was reduced to 9 days because I spent an entire day in the Brussels airport and then had to spend the night in Zurich. I arrived in Zurich on Saturday night, and received my bag on Tuesday afternoon. All in all it was not a good experience until I got to Switzerland."

However he came back to get my information and sent a message to Zurich so that I would be sure to have the meal on my return flight. I thought that was really thoughtful and kind! I do not know his name but he worked in that included row 25 on the A side and I would have loved to be able to mention his name so that he gets a great review. Economy seats we very comfortable for me."

Had to organize on my own amother flight more acceptable and will leave 2 days late. No support for cab to go back home No voucher issued. The worst service ever. Was traveling with a pet."

Very inconvininet night over at the airport. On top of that broke my luggage while loading and unloading. Atleast expected an accomdation/food arranegment or faster checkin the next day.. The United airlined staff at the gate were unsympathatic and in a hurry. Will never book with them again. Wasted 24h, arrived late, broken luggage, and tiring and inconvinient stay at the airport were the highlights of the trip!"

Cons: "Firstly, our flights were changed and no notification was given. I logged on through Kayak, and no mention of flight being cancelled, so my family (including a 6 month old) showed up to the airport to our surprise we were there for over 5.5.hours. It took over an jour to check us in, as our carry=on bag was 1 pound over & we needed to shuffle things around, and it turned out my infant son was not registered in the Air Canada system. The gentlemen (wasn't so gentlemen like) in helping us. Very rude. To our surprise, the 1 lb luggage could have easily been pass through noting there were perhaps 50 people on flight. The plane was empty. On our return back from Montreal, we walked in 2.5 hours in advance to witness an Air Canada employee yelling at a passenger. I'm not one to complain but this was unacceptable. & she should be removed from her client facing position. In addition to this, I am all for young professionals however the flight attendant crew wasn't what I would consider a productive staff. It took over 2.5 hours for food & then water to be served. On a night flight, we would expect lights to be dimmed, this was not the case until 11:05 p..m. which lasted a whole 20 minutes as we prepared for landing,. Try putting an infant to sleep when lights keep flickering, & not to mention, they seemed to have loved the intercom. Its as if they were on it every few minutes with hourglass speeches. Overall, very disappointing. We tried AC from our regualr American as we had been frustrated with the latter, and prices were higher but after our holiday trip, I must admit AA isnt bad after all and the difference in price is well worth it. Saddens me when I would love to support a Canadian based company (being canadian), but cannot justify with the poor client experience my family and I just suffered."

Cons: "The boarding time lasted an hour as the front desk staff at the gate insisted that I needed a visa travel document for my connection in China (multiple leg journey). What they failed to realize is that nobody needs a visa for China if they’re connecting in transit. It took a phone call and 3 staff members to sort things out. Not something that I want to deal with at 5:00 am. Moreover, due to the de icing, the flight was late and i just made it to my connecting flight in Newark. It was quite a hair-raising experience overall."

Cons: "The crew when boarding was very rude, my ticket said ask an agent for an assigned seat and the three people from delta I spoke with were very rude and the first two completely treated me like I was nothing but a bother for asking for assistance. The third lady just said it was overbooked I didn't have a seat she was busy with other stuff and would deal with me later to listen to for my name to call. Not impressed with deltas service at the airport. The flight crew was very nice."

Was supposed to arrive in final destination at 11pm that night- ended up getting there at 9:40AM next day."

They told us that the flight was full and no more food was available! When we asked for water, they did not bring water. I am not sure if they were out of water because the flight was full! That would be something! Bathrooms were not usable. Utterly dirty. My six-year old daughter refused to use the bathrooms. Water was flowing and the smell was horrible. They should clean that. I can go on but what is the point???"

Do I expect people to be rude? I mean, I need to like something extraordinary, something that others don't do. I can't remember anything remarkable. Just nothing."

Pros: "Crew was great, captain was a comedian. Pretty sure he broke the speed limit getting from Denver to OKC (95 minute flight took just about 67 minutes. Hey, the pilot told us he was going supersonic) no complaints here. Again, great entertainment, flight didn't last long enough to enjoy the free wifi entertainment."

Cons: "My flight was cancelled. When I called United I was in hold for an hour only to be told that my airline was not United but Air Canada. When I called air canada I was on hold for another 45 minutes. They rescheduled my flight for another day. I lost one day of my vacation."

Cons: "The worst thing is that they schedule a CRJ-70 on this flight. This would be tolerable if the obvious alternative was a turboprop, as if Montreal were a small town, like Flin Flon. But it is not; it is a large and important city, and it stinks that the demand is so low that airlines must use small aircraft on these routes. Is it because Canadian taxes are so high on airlines that fares in turn must be high and not stimulate demand? I can't think of any other reason connecting cities this size would be on crappy little aircraft rather than on at least an A320/737 family aircraft. The problem is that there is not enough room in the overhead bins to fit rollaboards, even small ones like mine. So they have to "gate check" the bag, which does not always reappear at the gate at the destination. Less bad than the choice of aircraft was the fact that after we pushed back, they couldn't get an engine started, so they cancelled the flight and reaccommodated us on a later flight."

Cons: "Maintenance delayed us for about an hour? supposedly a walky-talky, then paperwork problems. No food offered on a 5 hour flight. No free movie, only option was a 7.99 direct tv, Rippoff. Lots of turbulence. Main problem I had was no leg room. Im not a big person but I felt like a stuffed sardine between 2 other people."

Pros: "The people were pretty nice. The cabin was quiet and dark for the long part of our trip. That was good because we were worn out from our stay in OKC. There weren't as many people on the flight from Houston to Seattle as there were on the Seattle to Houston part of our trip, so we were able to stretch out!"
Cons: "My chair was malfunctioning, and when the flight attendant asked me to put it in its upright position I could not comply immediately. I told her it was faulty, and she just kept saying push the button, which I was clearly doing. She didn't yell, but was stern and loud to the point where I started to become frustrated with her. At this point my girlfriend reached back and pulled the chair forward while I mashed the button hard. I don't feel like I should be the one held responsible for your faulty mechanism. I was already tired, uncomfortable, and she added miffed to the equation. We were already delayed and had to deboard and reboard after we had a 3 hour layover in the boring Houston airport."
