Pros: "Alaska Airlines continues to do it rite! To my surprise, while checking in my 60 lb bag of surfboards, I was only charged $25, not the already low price of $75 I am usually charged. This new discounted price enabled me to save $100 round trip on board charges. Unlike other airlines that charge $100 Per surfboard, Alaska Airlines has implemented a program that serves the sports enthusiasts. From surfers, golfers, hunters, fisherman, and so on. Our gear goes with us for a fantastic price. Also, the food is actually pretty tasty too & the flight attendants treat you well."

When my flight from Dallas landed at LAX a passenger in front of me began seizing, everyone just moved and I went up to help I am a NCMA I have traing in this area, the flight attendant was rude and told me i didn't know what i was doing and to sit down. So i sat down. Waiting for EMS to get there delayed deplaning which is understandable. However when I got to my gate to board to Portland, I was told that due to not being there on time they gave away my seat. She was very rude. When I began crying, pulled out my phone and asked for her name and supervisor she magically found me a seat but it wasnt the economy we paid for."
Pros: "This was our first time using Alaska Airlines and they were great! Checking in online was easy. Flight attendants and other staff were friendly and seemed to have your best interest in mind. My husband and I had a 20 hour layover in LA coming back from Costa Rica and we asked if we would have to pay another fee to recheck our bag for the second flight. They were very understanding and waived the fee since our overnight stay in LA was technically a layover and we had previously made the whole reservation for both flights at once using their company. Overall we liked our experience with Alaska and would definitely use them again!"

I tried to take things in stride (first world problems?) but it is a bummer to pay extra for the first class treatment and then to not have that great experience, especially on back to back 5ish hour flights."

So, the flight attendant told me that I needed to fight my way through the people coming toward me back up the aisle and check every overhead bin all the way back up to see if there was room for my one suitcase. Others had brought more than one bag up there. Finally they checked my one carry on bag. The ride was also really bumpy, worst that we've ever experienced. But that was due to weather conditions."

There was a compartment across from my seat that remained open the entire flight. While I completely understand the need to check extra luggage when the plane is full, I was very upset when I saw it was not. I intentionally fly with a carry on for the convenience, and to be inconvenienced for absolutely no reason made me not want to fly with this company again for fear it could happen again in the future."

She literally treated me like a child. - NOT COOL. Overall, in comparison to my last international flight, I WOULD NOT recommend United. I feel like I paid too much for my experience with United. Aer Lingus has better/newer aircraft, better cabin crew, better entertainment selections to include music and a selection of movies to watch at your convenience, more comfortable seats, provide a better environment, and a better value for your experience. Aer Lingus was also cheaper. So if you are reading this, please shop around if you are considering United to fly."

Then the flight gets cancelled but no email notification was sent and the screen wasn't updated at the gate (the whole time I was there). If I hadn't come back to the gate during the long delay and asked a fellow passenger why they were in line, I wouldn't have known it was cancelled for a long time. The employees at the gate were helpful in refunding our tickets, etc. but overall, not happy with my experience with Frontier Airlines."

However, the attendants were not interested in expediting me, and 4 other passengers going on the same flight, through security. Ultimately, 5 passengers with boarding passed missed their flight even though we had arrived to the airport and checked-in at an appropriate time! After the plane left, an attendant assisted a passenger to rebook their flight, but then left to go on break and left 3 of us stranded. Very few Frontier attendants available to help us. Had to pay $225 for another same day flight to SFO using American Airlines. Learning points: - hard deadline, need to be at gate 10 mins before departure time - lofty and esoteric reimbursement process - Frontier does not participate in TSA Pre-Check, so arrive 2 hours ahead of departure time for domestic flights - Frontier does not participate in other airline organizations, so unless you rebook with Frontier you are paying full price for the new ticket"

I get it...the state of the airlines, paying for baggage is becoming a thing. but this was just another level, without warning. it was a bait and switch. I won't fly Frontier again."

After more than 2 hours of arguing with Frontier personnel, they magically found a way for me to get there via Denver. Finally, once I boarded the flight to Denver, the crew could not have been any less competent. I saw at least two instances where they had given away the seat of someone who had checked into the flight, then had to scramble to find them a new seat. Frontier is the worst."

Had to pay to check OR to carry-on. 2) Flew out of Chicago O'Hare - a major hub - and Frontier, Spirit, Virgin America, & Alaskan all shared a SINGLE security check. Yes ladies and gentleman, one security scanner. I have never in my life (usually fly American, United, or Southwest) waited more than 30 minutes to get through security. This time was well over an hour, I almost missed my flight. 3) On-board staff was friendly (all but one woman), but there were no complimentary beverages or snacks. I did pay for some & they were not too pricey, but having to whip out my credit card yet again made my whole travel experience feel far from effortless."

In fact, my comment is in reference to customer service in general. Everything is a fight now. I'm not a screamer, I'm rational. I laid out,clearly, where their policy was contradicted and that some empathy was in order and in the process was hung up on once and have not received a reply to my last email. If you gave no intention to achieve quality customer service, why pay for the department? Maybe they don't."
