Cons: "I had a flight with a connection starting at 6 PM on a Monday. At 5 AM the day of the flight I received notification that the first flight would be delayed, making connection impossible, I was prompted to select another flight to arrive to my destination. I chose a flight with a connection staring at 7 PM. Upon getting on the first flight we began to prepare for takeoff. After about 30 minutes the pilot notified us that we would be delayed 40 minutes because we had nowhere to land at my connection airport. I realized at that point that I would possibly miss my connection, which was scheduled at 10:20 PM. However, I did arrive at the connection airport around 9:40 PM which would have given just enough time to arrive at the connection gate. Unfortunately, upon arrival to the connection airport the pilot informed us that we would have no gate to de-board the plane. The pilot stated that all connections "were aware of our delay" and gave us the gates for each connection. I got off the plane at 10:15 PM and ran to my connection gate arriving exactly at 10:20. The gate attendants informed me that my flight had left, my bags were on the way to my destination city and that I would need to spend the night in the connection city. The attendants, appeared disinterested and impolite but upon prompting provided us with a hotel voucher for the night. The next day we arrived at the airport 2 hours before boarding and waited at the gate. When it was near the time for departure we were informed that the plane had been downgraded and requests were made for some to give up their seats for a later flight or check carryon bags to make room for other passengers. While some lined up to give up their seats and bags, those who chose to remain on the original flight were forced to wait before boarding the plane. We were then told that we would have to wait until the pilot and crew arrived before boarding. Scheduled departure time was 5:46 PM but the time got pushed back until we boarded around 6:30, departure was rescheduled to 6:50 PM. We boarded the plane and waited for departure but a few minutes later the pilot informed us that "he just got here" and that there were mechanical problems that would cause further delay. After an hour we were informed that the plane was not able to fly and instructed to go to another gate for another plane. Departure time got rescheduled to 8:30 PM. The plane departed after 9 PM and arrived at 10:30 PM for a 5:46 PM scheduled departure."

Cons: "5 minutes until boarding at JFK we were told to transfer gates; upon arriving by shuttle to the new gate, passengers were informed the aircraft was downsized and 20 people needed to be bumped. I volunteered since I had a flexible schedule so Delta re-issued me a ticket at 9am JFK for a 10am flight out of La Guardia. I trusted them I'd make it in time and they said they called taxis for us so we left to go catch them. Actually, no taxis were to be found so we had to call our own and were significantly delayed. I was in the first group of 5 people to be re-issued and arrive at La Guardia. Everyone else bolted but my new boarding pass didn't work and they actually didn't properly re-issue my ticket as I had been booked as leg 3 of my international flight from Malaysia. After they called three different departments including China they were able to print my ticket at 9:54am so I sprinted through the security and to my gate and was able to somehow make the flight as they were closing the door. However probably 14 or so of the original bumped passengers definitely didn't make it."

You have to go through security screening at the gate AGAIN, so those ridiculous $5 bottles of water you just bought to survive the wait in the overcrowded, hot waiting area? Throw them away or drink now, says the screening agent. I will never take a flight with a connection in Panama again."

Pros: "After not being alowed to board, due to oversold flight, a Copa assistant walked me back through customs and helped me find my bag which was nice of her."
Cons: "I was put on standby due to a “technical error” and then told I would not be able to board because the flight was oversold. Copa offered me a $400 voucher which I declined. Then I was told that it wasn’t negotiable. Sad that they wouldn’t offer more than $400 so that one of the other 100 passengers could have agreed to change."

Cons: "Everything. The only thing is that the seat recline too far back and crush my legs and I’m only 5’11 so I can imagine how uncomfortable it must be for someone taller"

To complete, they dont have indivual flat screens, so you have to watch the comum tv, that just showed one movie and nothing more. I thing that its should be not permitted to flight on this aircraft for international flights."

I was really thirsty by the time I got off the plane, and then by the time I got through customs, it had been like 6 hours since I last had anything to drink!! They really should have offered customers AT LEAST water at some point later in the flight."

Cons: "Anyone who flies the route NVT-GRU knows two things. The departure and landing times are unreliable and they always....always over sell seats. Navegantes (NVT) is a very small airport but connects to so many international flights. The city and many of the neighboring towns have become vacation hotspots. I personally fly this route twice a month these days So many bad things happen because of their poor on-time results and overbooking. The worst of which is missing your connections. This was the third time in 2 months that I’ve missed my connection in São Paulo to NYC. This time I purposely took an earlier flight 6:40pm so I would have no chance to miss my 11pm flight to New York. Then a 2 hour and 20 minute delay! My God ...really? Another missed flight. GOL you CAN do BETTER! ."

Cons: "My TSA information was included in the flight to DC, but apparently omitted from the system for the return trip. This forced me to go through the non-TSA precheck even though I have paid for and am a known traveler. The flight was also late and making it later still, was the gate having to plead for passengers to check their bags as a way to avert the airline’s overbooking it in the first place."

So after everyone had boarded, at the minute we were supposed to take off, they beg for 2 volunteers to get off the flight to compensate for the weight of the excess fuel. Eventually 2 people b3came annoyed enough to get off and take a $200 voucher (probably for another delayed flight.) so we were late taking off for that. At our destination there were clear sunn6 skies. Extra fuel was needed for that. So I was stuck in a seat the size of a child’s car seat for an extra 40 minutes? And when we could finally get off, my legs had fallen asleep ffrom being too squeezed in for that relatively short flight. When will the airlines focus on the passengers’ safety & comfort and not on excessive profits?"

Pros: "Plane was full. Finding overhead storage was tough. And, we checked luggage. The seat was small, but I had leg room and no one reclined their seat. There are a lot of extras one must pay for. But, the plane was on time and the crew was pleasant..People are accustomed to this treatment. There is no joy left in the flying experience."

Cons: "on a 5+ hour flight, that was diverted back to the originating airport due to a passenger who had extreme DTs from excessive drinking the night before, and made the flight return, American offered NO compensation AND the aircraft was so old, there were NO back seat monitors NOR any means to charge our electrical devices!!!"

Cons: "I am very disappointed with my flight this morning on American Airlines 1533. The crew did an excellent job. The issue, however, is the media AA chose to play at 8:30am. The NBC show that was playing on every overhead TV on the flight featured a woman being sexually assaulted by a man, someone being bludgeoned with a piece a wood until they lay unconscience in a pool of blood, and woman with a gun to her head as she’s being yelled at by multiple men. I was flying with my three year old son. Why on earth is it necessary to show this tv show (or any show that has mature/adult ratings) on a flight that is obviously going to have audiences of all ages? Our flight had a dozen or so children and when you show prime time trash on the overhead TVs, it’s really tough to keep kids from looking forward the entire length of the 2 hour flight so they don’t watch a woman being raped, a man being beaten, or someone being held at gunpoint. I am traveling on behalf of the US government so I didn’t have to pay for my ticket. I did, however, pay for my 3 year old son to accompany me on the flight and I am wholly unsatisfied with the AA team responsible for choosing in-flight ‘entertainment.’ I’m not sure if NBC pays AA to feature their shows or AA has to pay NBC for the pleasure of featuring their trash but either way, what in the world are you guys thinking?"

Pros: "The crew was helpful and nice, boarding was calm, we got there much earlier than anticipated."
Cons: "1) Biggest complaint is not about the actual flight we were on, but the one we missed, who left the gate Early, even though they knew we had landed and other people from our BCN to JFK flight made it. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING, esp since all other flights to DC out of JFK were cancelled. 2) We were on the last row of the plane so our seats didn’t recline. Annoying at best bc the flight was so short, but would have been nice since we had been traveling for 18 hours by that point (because of the late flight, missed connection, cancelled JFK flights, etc)."

Cons: "After being delayed without any explanation, I was told that I would not have my purchased 1st Class seat. To add to that I received no service In economy."

Cons: "Very inefficient that all bags had to be checked on the jet way and then picked up on the jet way. The picking up on the jet way turned into a cluster F."

Pros: "Nice modern plane. Even though the flight was delayed, we ended up boarding earlier than expected and arrived pretty close to our original expected arrival time."
Cons: "The crew was nice and everything, but they weren't very good at making announcements on the loudspeaker. You could tell they didn't really know what they were saying or haven't practiced. One lady was trying to make a sales pitch for a new master card and you could tell she was reading and there were long pauses. My sense is that when using the loudspeaker to talk to the entire flight, one should be practiced and know what they're saying and communicate quickly and efficiently. Don't mean to be critical, but it's something that I noticed that could be improved."

Cons: "Flight was delayed for hours- weather related, but at other destinations- so this flight had to wait to be rescheduled. Also they weren't able to give any idea when the flight would be boarding- they just kept sending text alerts that it was delayed another half hour and no updates were listed on the screens. When the flight finally left, after I had been waiting for over 5 hours, we were told that they would be flying low, so there would be no beverage service. It would be nice in these situations to simply have bottled water to pass out quickly, or make the announcement prior to boarding so people would be able to bring their own beverages."

Pros: "Narrow aisle and seating. Attendant looking at his phone the entire time we were getting ready to take off as well during taxiing and takeoff. Unbelievable!"

Cons: "Flight attendants arrived late, delayed the passengers. No blanket for main cabin when asked, my parents are old and they were really cold. Harsh landing but that's a give for DCA anyway."

Pros: "Flight was quick, seamless, on-time, and comfortable. WiFi available. Arrived 10 minutes early. Recommend the shuttle because if you don't get one flight, they'll get you on the next. These days, the shuttle is more dependable than Amtrak."

The second flight Alaska Airlines from Washington DC to Portland was delayed, but I never flew. I got a direct flight from American Airlines from Charlotte to Portland instead."

Pros: "The associates at the terminal, who faced long delays and concerned and frustrated customers were patient and gracious. Following prescribed procedures they made announcements, apologized and provided snacks for the long delay."
Cons: "Having to wait for an extended time in the terminal. Delays turned my 10 hour journey into 24 hours."

Cons: "From the get go it was an awful experience ... I travel with an emotional support animal as does my husband because we don't do well with flying. I have anxiety to the max about it & my husband gets ulcerative colitis flare ups any time he's stressed out which is usually while we fly and having our dogs with us turkey makes us feel better. When I called to tell them over the phone we would have our emotional support animal I got an attitude as if I hadn't been doing this for the last 4 years. She reiterated to me that we needed in addition to the letterhead from the doctor a form filled out (which we both did ) . Brought to the airport and sit had to sit at the counter like the girl didn't know what she was doing. Fast forward to finally getting to the gate after being stressed and our flight was delayed. This now only made our 50 min layover in DC 20 min by the time we landed. We ran from one gate to the next hoping we wouldn't miss our flight and when we got there they wouldn't let us on the plane saying things like "your dogs are not on this flight" "there is no documentation" "well then you must not have the right paperwork" ... in front of a bunch of people in line, out of breath, and now embarrassed I am forced to take out my folder and give them all the paperwork I had just given to the customer service desk before our first flight. They let everyone on the plane and still made us stand there and finally said "just go but your dogs aren't on this flight". Fast forward AGAIN to sitting on the flight the flight attendant comes over and says "guys where's you carrier the dogs need to be under the seats" .. we peoceeded again to explain for the seventh time that they were emotional support animals ... she then proceeded "no they are not they are not even listed on this flight" at this point I'm EXTREMLY embarrassed because people on the plane are paying attention and drawing attention to us but not only that ... I have been doing this for years .. I ALWAYS have the proper documentation as does my husband and we have never ran into this kind of disappointment and embarrassment from any airline until now. I was so stressed out to begin with and this deffinately didn't help ... nor did it make us wants to fly on American again. I felt pushed aside, embarrassed, and belittled by multiples employees ... all because the first employee clearly made a mistake and didn't document things correctly ... that should have never been put on us ."

Pros: "Excellent aircraft. EJR190. Not big but very comfortable aircraft. AA has decided to give actual leg room. Nice experience even in the back of the aircraft."
Cons: "AA needs to work on boarding logistics at LaGuardia. It's confusing to have to shuttle across the tarmac to another terminal. If the flight times had been closer I would not have arrived in time to board."

Cons: "Flight from Miami last night was delayed 3.5 hours (which was a 9:30pm departure to 12:30am departure) There was horrible weather that prevented the Flight captain to arrive on time for our flight. (he was en route from NYC to MIA). But instead of providing accommodations, the times changed and then they boarded us on the plane where we proceeded to wait almost an hour on the plane before take off. Arrived at DCA at 3 am....not a goo start to a work week."

Cons: "Flight was good until, after arriving 30 minutes early to PWM, our plane had to wait about that much time for our gate to open. Once pulling to the gate we waited another 15 minutes for someone to figure out the walkway and open the door tom the plane-- all with no communication from the crew."

I don't understand how this is possible when you know everyone can carry 1 carry-on and 1 personal bag. Even though I had a seat towards the front, I had to go right at the back to stow my carry-on. This caused me to de-board last!"

After boarding the second 2 hour delayed plane my family and I were asked to step off the plane and go to the front desk because they made the mistake to give several people the same seats. It was horrible, and embarrassing. My family, friends and I will definitely won’t be flying eith United."

Cons: "The long delay seemed strange, as the plane had arrived from Costa Rica. Why would an airline schedule the same plane for an international flight and then a short hop from Newark to DC without adequate time in between? The departure gate at Newark was absolute chaos! Announcements were overlapping and not understandable. There was inadequate seating."

Cons: "The crew were harsh and abrupt. The seats were uncomfortable and tilted too far toward to be able to sit in the upright position. The "reclined" position was a more reasonable upright position."

Pros: "Economy Basic check-in was easier than I'd expected it to be, security was quick and seamless. Once on board the aircraft, the flight crew kept us informed about possible weather issues (e.g. turbulence), including the approximate time to expect it, how long it might last, and that it would probably preclude in-flight beverage service. Flight attendants offered to provide one-at-a-time beverage service to those "really in need of a drink." I thought that was pretty gracious under the circumstances, and was happy to see that passengers didn't take advantage of the option :-). Looks like United is doing its best to counteract its recent negative publicity. Well done!"

That would be fine if you could just turn it off once that's done. But it was too hard to turn off, and after the safety video, they played three ads (you couldn't turn the ads off). At the end of the flight the tvs camenon again. It was also a night time flight - how can you sleep with the screen on. Also, the seat space seemed smaller than usual so the screen was in my face. I hated this flight."

Cons: "Departure was delayed for five hours. Gate changes 4 different times to opposite sides of the terminal. Weren't told honest reason of the delay until two hours in. They boarded half of the plane and stopped when the pilots radioed in that there was a severe hydraulic fluid leak. Updates were supposed to happen every thirty minutes but more than three times they were longer than thirty minute intervals and at one point more than ninety minutes without an update. The representatives at the Chicago gate told us we were all set then the rest of the passengers boarded the plane. The pilot said they were waiting on maintenance paperwork to print off but then we waited an extra hour at the gate on board while we could still hear very loud tests of the hydraulic system. Once we finally left the gate and headed out on the runway for takeoff we stopped just before takeoff and the pilot said we were waiting on PAPERWORK AGAIN! This was another 30 minute delay and we finally took off. We were supposed to arrive home at 10:00pm and instead arrived at 3:00am..."
