Cons: "Dirty plane, nobody bothered to wipe the tray table and Black Mold showing (extensively) at top air vents. Very uncomfortable flight. AC needs to do a Much Better job cleaning between flights!!"
Pros: "Smooth flight"
Cons: "No entertainment unless purchased. Seats were very tight -no leg room"
Cons: "Always late, overall service is appalling. Only reason they are around is due to protective policies of the Canadian government"
Pros: "I appreciated for free Molson Canadian."
Cons: "Once I landed at my final destination, luggage was delayed. Did not receive until several hours later."
Pros: "The tvs are awesome! They are new and have touchscreens that are actually well designed and can scroll etc. Resolution and sound are great, so I actually feel like I watched my movie and didn't just look at moving blurs with half the dialogue missing. Also the USB ports are great. And the brownie with the meal was delicious."
Cons: "Only one meal on a >9 hour flight, plus one snack which was an uninspiring-looking rectangle of cold pumpkin loaf (it tasted good, but after 7.5 hours in the air it'd be nice to get something more appealing). Other airlines give two meals. It's ridiculous that Air Canada insists on being so stingy with the food."
Cons: "I'm kind of tall so leg room always seems scarce."
Pros: "1st time on Air Canada and we were overall impressed, this was a fast an easy flight across the board. Love the free inflight entertainment too!"
Cons: "Food availability was restricted because it was only a 3hr flight despite it being during dinner time. Still what was there was enough, I had cheese and crackers and Granola balls and it was filling enough."
Cons: "Worst leg room I have ever seen and I fully over 20 + times a year!"
Cons: "Lost luggage"
Cons: "Incredibly disorganized"
Pros: "Very good crue"
Cons: "Very concientiousvAiur Canada employees"
Cons: "Party of 7, all split up in different seats. Aircanada was completely useless to help us out Big discussion on the plane with other passengers. Flight was delayed, lost our connection. 10 hours at toronto airport."
Cons: "Flight delayed, did not leave Vancouver until after we were supposed to land in Portland. No tv or wifi"
Cons: "No entertainment and poor seat selection process"
Pros: "Service was kind."
Cons: "We sat on the plane for over an hour before take-off and were therefore late arriving in Toronto. Economy seats were cramped, as expected, and there were children screaming most of the flight. Food was pretty awful."
Pros: "Considering it was a tiny aircraft the flight went very smoothly."
Cons: "Baggage hasn't arrived after 45 minutes"
Pros: "A special thanks to flight attendant Var for the superb service on this flight."
Pros: "Service was on time & staff was friendly and helpful."
Cons: "On the flight back, we had to wait on the airplane for a good hour before we could disembark. But that was due to heavy traffic at the airport and not the fault of the airline."
Pros: "It was not a completely full flight. The Boarding process was done by mainline Air Canada employees and it was perfectly good and the flight left on time. The aircraft's interior was not clean. The carpet the seats and the tray tables all dirty and discussing. The seats are undiscribly substandard and uncomfortable. The bilingual announcement was done incoherintkyin both languages absolutely not professional Crew was nice except an Asian/Canadian flight attendent. It's a less than adequate experience even for a officially second tier airline. Why does Canada put out an embarrassing product like this airline ? Shame on them !"
Cons: "I am filing a complaint with regard to my recent flight on Dec 31, 2016 from Barcelona (BCN) back to San Francisco, US (SFO) on Air Canada, with a connection in Toronto, Canada (Flight # AC1915 and AC739). My wife and I were denied boarding at Barcelona because we did not have an ETA to visit Canada. However, we actually qualify for the Transit Without Visa Program, allowing us to transit through Canada to the US without an ETA. Please see below. My wife and I arrived at BCN airport in Barcelona before 11 am, more than 3 hours prior to the departure time of 2 pm for flight AC1915 to Toronto. Please see the attached bus ticket as proof, indicating we boarded the bus at 10:30 am at Barcelona city center. This is more than enough time for check-in processes. I knew about the ETA requirement prior to travel. However, I also knew that, as a Taiwanese national, we qualify for the Transit Without Visa program, allowing us to transit through Canada to the US without an ETA. The Canadian Government website states that: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas-all.asp#eta-exemptions “The following persons are exempt from the eTA requirement: • Foreign nationals seeking to transit through Canada under Transit Without Visa or China Transit Program.” Furthermore, also on the Canadian Government website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1092&top=16 “Travellers whose planes refuel in Canada going to and from the United States, as well as participants in the China Transit Program and Transit Without Visa Program, do not need to have an eTA or a visa to transit Canada.” We qualify for the Transit Without Visa Program because according to the Canadian Government website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/twov/travellers.asp • We are citizens of Taiwan • We hold valid Taiwanese passports (please see attached passport photo) • We hold valid US visas (please see attached green card photo) • We are traveling to Canada on an approved airline: Air Canada Rouge • We transit through an approved Canadian airport (Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, terminal 1, without a change of terminal between flights) • We hold a confirmed onward ticket to the US the same day (AC739 to San Francisco, departing at 6:55 pm the same day) • We arrive during operating hours for the US in-transit pre-clearance facility. During check-in, we were told that we needed an ETA and denied us boarding. I tried explaining to the supervisor on duty that day that an ETA is actually not required for us since we qualify for Transit Without Visa, using the arguments I presented above in this letter, as well as showing him the websites from the Canadian Government. However, the supervisor insisted that we needed an ETA, citing the general policy that Taiwanese citizens require ETA to visit Canada. What he did not realize was that we satisfy a very unique case that did NOT require an ETA."
Pros: "Check in was smooth"
Cons: "I find it unacceptable that 1 bag was free on the inbound flight, but I had to pay extra to check the same bag on my return."
Pros: "It boarded and arrived on time."
Cons: "There was no snack unless you paid for one."
Cons: "cost of luggage fees. You collect excessive fees for luggage and when you loose the luggage or it arrives on a later flight you should refund the fee. I was on a hunting trip and my firearm didn't come in on my flight necessitating my rebooking a later flight. You didn't mind collecting an extra $100 to handle the gun case but you didn't deliver on your end. I will never fly to Canada again on Air Canada."
Pros: "Staff was really friendly, the flight attendant was even wearing a little witch hat for Halloween, which I really liked. Due to an underbooked flight, we had free choice of seat, because I originally was booked on an aisle seat, I could change to a window seat, that was nice. Since it was a small machine from Toronto to Minneapolis (a little more than 1,5h flight), there was no entertainment system, besides the nice view out of the window. And who likes to start a movie during such a short flight, to not be able to finish it? They also ask you to hand in your carry-on before you enter the plane, because there is not enough space for it inside, which I liked, no wiggeling along the aisle with a little trolley, I just fetched it outside the plane after we landed."
Cons: "Unfortunately, Air Canada didn't serve gluten-free snacks on any of my flights yet (I had good gluten free food though). This is not meant as a negative review, because as an allergic you're usually prepared. It's more a suggestion for gluten-free snacks, peanuts or m&m's work as well as most gummy bears or chocolates :)"
Pros: "Boarded promptly. In flight entertainment on AC is always great."
Pros: "Very pleasant flight; excellent entertainment options to while away the time. Excellent crew: food and comfort as good as it gets these days in Economy."
Cons: "Boarding was confusing. Announcements were difficult to hear in the terminal; there was a step requiring all passengers to queue up as if boarding but instead it was a passport/boarding pass check. The two queues were not labeled, there was much line-switching, and the passport-check lines blocked the terminal for travelers for other flights... The incoming plane was late; we wondered why this passport check could not have proceeded while we waited instead of delaying our boarding once our plane arrived."
Pros: "The whole experience was excellent."
Pros: "Good legroom in economy"
Pros: "The Canadian airports are much nicer than the US airports. Things seem to flow better. They are cleaner and have more services than the US. They also have less people. Air Canada is a very good airline. They had schedule issues like any airline, but they handled them well and communicated them well. The staff was friendly and helpful. The meals were very good. Our trip was long, but that was due to our choices. I was very satisfied and highly recommend Air Canada."
Cons: "All the planes are full. Seating is cramped unless you pay a lot for an upgrade. We found connection times tight in Montreal. We had to jog each time to make our connection."
Pros: "From boarding to disembark net was ok"
Cons: "No refreshment on board"
Pros: "It was on time, and quality service, but actual comfort of flight was not good, landing was very rough and we seemed to circle around Los Angeles for a while before landing. Also, the headphone jack on my screen didn't work so I couldn't movies which was disappointing on a 3 hour flight."
Pros: "More leg room"
Cons: "Horrible seats"
Cons: "Engine noise unbearably loud French safety demonstration Restrictions around wearing headphones"
Pros: "No issues."
Cons: "Everything was cool."
Pros: "Like? Not really."
Cons: "I asked a flight attendant for help to put my hand luggage over head, but she advised me me next time to bring lighter bag and walked away!!! Nice! The bag was 4,5 kg! A gentleman from next seat kindly helped me without asking."
Pros: "Was on time"
Cons: "Entertainment console didn't work"
Pros: "Nice, polite and helpful bilingual crew. Apologetically when trouble started and we had to do two unscheduled stops in Calgary. THe second crew was also very nice but not very bilingual."
Cons: "The fact that we were over 6 hours late, and even with my old age, I went 24 hours without sleep. I missed my ride to the apartment where I was supposed to stay and had to rent a room at an hotel nearby, adding to the costs of the flight."
Cons: "There could be a better snack..."
Pros: "I liked coming back home on time as scheduled."
Cons: "My flight to Vancouver was delayed and i was not even notified by email or any means. I arrived there very late and it cost me money when I had planned to take the train which was no longer running when I got there!"
Pros: "The plane was delayed and I had a short layover so I was maybe not going to make it to my next flight so they transferred me to another airline and was upgraded to first class for free!"
Cons: "I disliked that my flight was originally at 4 pm and the one that I was changed to didn't leave until 8 pm"
Pros: "Decent movie and game selections."
Cons: "The flight attendants seemed unhappy, sassy and got frustrated easily."
Cons: "The plane was filthy. The leg room seemed smaller than usual. The crew wasn't very friendly."
Pros: "I'm happy the flight did continue and I arrived late but not cancelled. I have had numerous bad experiences with AC in last couple years with cancellations, being bumped, flight changes - you name it. A mechanically sound plane is worth the wait"
Cons: "Arriving to the airport thinking flight is 30 delayed only to have been dropped off and then find out I have a 2 hour delay. I live 3 minutes from the airport and then I have to sit in airport for 2 extra hours."
