The flight probably was alright, it's just that was unable to cancel /change my plans on the app, nothing easy about it. 1st time app user- negative experience

The flight attendants are miserable, grabbing things out of your hand when they come to collect stuff before landing. No smiles, no grace. The plane was old, but also poorly cleaned between flights, so the bathrooms on our LAX-Atlanta flight smelled of urine from minute 1--you can imagine how they smelled by the time we landed. There was trash in my seat-back pocket when I took my seat. Supposedly food was available for purchase, but I couldn't activate the food menu, only the drinks menu, on my little seatback screen, so I just waited until I got to Atlanta to eat."

My wife, 2 year old son, and I was boarding at the gate and they couldn't scan my son's boarding pass. They quickly went over to the computer station and gave my son another pass. We went to our seats and found out someone else is in our 2year old seat. Apparently they gave the seat to someone else at the last second because up to the point when I printed our boarding passes at the kiosk, our seats were still together (and I paid $41/per seat extra to try to keep us together). The other customer was nice enough to switch with our son so were able to stay together at the last min so it goes to show AA priority and service."

The ground staff wasn't at all helpful in trying to get me on another flight and in fact sent me to Delta! The lady there couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Sadly I wasn't compensated at all and had to pay to re-book the flights on the Sunday 17th. On my return from Brisbane, American Airlines had cancelled my flight to Atlanta as they said I was a 'no show' heading out. Thankfully I was able to get a seat on stand by. So, no I'm not a happy customer."

No entertainment unless paid for, which is fine, except that the flight attendant and the announcements both stated that at least a movie was included. Outdated jet. No where to charge anything. Couldn’t work on my computer because to type, my elbow took up most of the other persons seat."

I’m sure they wanted to reduce the passenger loading time, but rudeness is not acceptable!"

Also they overbooked the flight and there was no room for my carryon luggage. They put it underneath and when I got it back it was all torn up. Seats were cramped not enough leg room."

Cons: "United rerouted us and added another leg to our trip. We never flew Richmond to Denver. We ended up going Richmond -> Chicago -> Denver -> Santa Barbara. This caused us to miss a post-wedding brunch with family that we're only able to see about once every three years. All this after changing our flight out to the east coast the day of the flight (my 8:55pm flight was changed to 5:23pm, and I was notified after 3pm - meaning I had to run out of work early, costing me money, run home to pack, and rush to the airport, only to wait 3 hours for a now delayed flight). The also added another leg to that trip as well (at 3pm, day of). This was a red-eye flight and the last thing we wanted to do was get on and off the plane all night. I will not be flying with United after this trip."

For over an hour, he told us that the plane was taxiing from the hanger. Assuming the hanger was at the same airport we were, I seriously doubt this was the case."

It maybe good for staff but I paid almost $300 for a tkt to be told oh here a seat sit here. No accommodation was made for the seating switch . No I was not looking for first or business class just to be asked would have been nice"

I approached her at the gate 1 hour before the flight to explain that I was not able to pick a seat online and I was trying to get an isle or a window seat due to my sciatica nerve pain, but she interrupted and said "no" before I got to ask the question. A few minutes later my name was called by another agent for a seat assignment. When I approached them, the first agent told the agent who called my name "no, she already has a seat" and did not even let me talk! This is awful customer service. I always fly with Southwest, but this time I had to fly with United because of the timing of the flight. I will choose an airline where I can at least get to finish asking a question and apparently that is not United airline."

Cons: "Turbulent Flight"

Absolutely everything about this flight experience was awful. My flight was initially cancelled due to Hurricane Ida, but at no point did I feel the customer service was aimed at helping me find a way home to New Orleans. My flight was then changed again last minute without any warning or timely communication, removing me from the flight altogether and rescheduling me, (again, without my consent or knowledge) for a flight to Baltimore for the next day. Still trying to figure out why they thought that was a good choice, taking me even further away from my originally planned destination and now devastated home. The gate agents were overwhelmed with the number of disgruntled and confused passengers (I was not the only one who was switched to a different flight without consultation) and were frankly unprepared for the number of passengers who now needed assistance, further delaying the boarding process & flights for everyone onboard. I learned my lesson trying to save a few extra bucks. I will never fly Spirit again.

Pros: "Best part of this flight was. finally getting off, 32 hours after we were scheduled."
Cons: "This was hands down the worst managed flight ever! They delayed the plane something like 8 times. Always just 30 or 45 minutes so you couldn't leave and go do something. Finally we boarded 6 hours late. 55 minutes into the turned us around and sent us back to FL. So basically, everything."
Pros: "The crew are wonderful and very helpful. We really enjoy the flight."

Cons: "Had to pay for flight, tiny sardine seat, water and people on flight were in a huge hurry to exit plane at gate, hardly waiting for row by row polite deplaning. At least I had an assigned seat! Baggage took a long time to arrive. The crowd on flight were very loud - awkward personal conversations. Crew were good."

Cons: "Seating was wrong , they gave me a different customer's ticket and had me standing waiting for my seat . Attendant left empty bottle in seating area and walked away . Staff was loud and unproffesional."
Pros: "Price—got what we paid for—a flight. Nothing more. As the flight attendant stated as she offered drinks or snacks, the only thing free is SMILES!!"
Cons: "Not even a free cup of water! Actually, a cup of ice was free—wow!! Only airline I have encountered that does not offer two free carry-on items—defeats the lower price of your ticket when you have to pay for every little item!!"
Pros: "Staff are always very professional and kind."
Cons: "Seat mates needed a bath -- BADLY. I don't think there is anything the airlines can do about that!"

Cons: "The bag fees for me to check a bag and carry on a second bag was $100, so my inexpensive fare was $200 more. On the flight out the seats were very uncomfortable--plastic non adjusting seats. Thank goodness the flight was only four hours long. While I understand that drinks and snacks are "add ons" and a profit center, passengers have to buy expensive water and snacks with the gate vendors. Surely the airline could stock a few gallons of water for dehydrated passengers? The cost of my two bags would have covered bottled water for everyone on the flight."

Cons: "Bag check employee didn't bother to tell me that home-printed boarding passes wouldn't work, so I had to return to the desk after the security person informed me. Seats are awful-- headrest jabbed into my back because it was too low. Zero legroom. It's worth the extra money to fly with absolutely anyone else."
Cons: "extra charge on carry on luggage and they charge for a snack and a drink. i will never fly with them again."
Pros: "The seats are first class size and comfortable. The employees are friendly."
Cons: "The luggage charges should come up in a pop up window or some other way to make online ticket buyers aware. Luckily I did not buy gifts to bring with me. Flyers can save a lot if they are prepared properly to bring the right carry on."
Cons: "We did not like the fact that Spirit charges so much to check-in bags and also that our HAND BAG was considered to be a carry on. We couldn't even get a FREE cup of water unless you had take medication. I will never fly SPIRIT AIRLINES again."
Pros: "We were in a line to check in our luggage for an hour, plus they charge you for everything. Overly priced."
Pros: "Security check in was easy"
Cons: "Instructions were not clear on checking luggage and the representative advised that he would let me go this time but I would be charged much extra in the future. I paid to have the bag checked. My ticket says gate B37 but the plane was loaded at gate B38.I did not hear any instructions about checking bags even though I was where I was supposed to be. I will have to assess whether I am saving money and if the confusion is worth saving a few dollars."
Pros: "Nothing really, I will stay away from Spirit in the future."
Cons: "There was a delay in our flight, did not receive a notice or anything. Had to sit in the airport for four hours. Has I received an update or a notice I would of planned around that. Also, the staff didn't seem to care. They just blamed the weather in Philadelphia, when we checked the weather there its was 83 and sunny. When we talked to the staff about it they changed there reason and they finally told us the truth; which was a staffing issue. I guess the previous flight crew decided they had enough and they didn't want to fly to Minneapolis."

Cons: "Wouldn't let me board my flight even though I got the almost an hour before take off then told me I had to pay $100 to catch the next flight. I will never got with spirit airlines again."

Cons: "Spirit is hands down the worst airline I have ever flown on. We thought we had found a steal of a flight for $180 from Philadelphia to Ft. Lauderdale until we found out that they literally charge you extra for every single other thing. Just to pick our 2 seats round trip cost us another $56. Checking bags both ways was another $168. Then while checking in, we were charged $30 for an "overweight" bag. Every single other airline has a 50 pound limit, but once again spirit found a way to be cheap and sub-par with a 40 pound limit. Luckily we managed to avoid their $100 carry on fee for if your bag doesn't meat they're incredibly small limit. Oh and their app, which every single other airline allows you to download for free, is $5. Once aboard the plane, the seats are made of hard plastic with barely any cushioning and the seat back tray won't even hold anything larger than a beverage. There is also no on-flight entertainment offered. This has been a learning experience to say the least. Suffice to say, I will never fly with Spirit Airlines again. They are incredibly cheap and try to nickel and dime you for every little thing. 2 thumbs WAY down."
Pros: "I almost missed my flight, last one out of MCO that night (due to the horrible customer service of Norwegian Air) and your team did everything in their power to help me get there. I also had to leave my luggage with customs to make it, and your girl Ebony in baggage claim in ATL got it back to me in a day! You guys turned a truly frustrating situation with Norwegian into a smooth transition. Thank you so much!"

Cons: "My Flight was canceled 5 minutes before boarding time. How could they not know sooner than that? I was flying out of Dallas They offered me a replacement flight- 2 days later!! I had to buy a ticket for the next morning on another airline.( They did offer a refund)"

Cons: "Return flight was canceled. They did not provide hotels for overnight stays, but the will give you $7 for food in the airport food court. You have to pay for every bag you take on the plan whether you check it or not."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for multiple hours numerous time before it was CANCELLED and we were told there wasn't another flight for 2 DAYS. I knew it was a horrible airline when I booked, but didn't think it would be this bad. This isn't a rare thing on this airline either."
Pros: "Purchasing my ticket from Kayak was easy and quick! But actually flying Spirit was a horrible experience. There was a delay without explanation regarding my return flight. The planes were old and during take offs and landings seemed to be on the verge of falling apart. The staff was rude and seemed like they were not confident in the planes abilities either. Overall, as a first time Spirit flyer I have no plans of flying with them again. Similarly, now I know why people always fly Delta!"
Pros: "The flight was delayed for 3 hours, with no explanation of any kind. When we landed in Atlanta at 2:30 in the morning, the trains were out of service and we all had to walk from the last gate in the last concourse to baggage claim. We did receive a $50 voucher for future travel for the inconvenience. But I don't think I'll be flying Spirit again."

Pros: "The crew were corteous, the flight on time and the leg room was adequate. The price of the ticket is why I selected this flight and why I would go with Spirit airlines/kayak.com again."
Cons: "The width of the seats was too small. There was not enough room for both my shoulders and the stranger's shoulders next to me and so I ended up sitting lopsided the entire flight to accommodate, causing me back pain for the plane ride and my entire weekend getaway."
Cons: "Hidden fees and charges made this more expensive in the end than other airlines, but had no frills, either."

Cons: "THE PLANE WAS DELAYED AGAIN THE SEATS WERE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. SECOND TIME IN A WEEK THE FLIGHT WAS DELAYED WAS OVER AN HOUR LATE EACH TIME"

Cons: "Flight was late for no apparent reason. Flight attendant rude & unprofessional when people are frustrated from waiting, bit he is making jokes and acting street or ghetto on the job. The customers are ignorant, fussing and bickering, getting smart with other flight attendant, who's doing her job. I thought it was about to cause another delay. I thought the cheap fare was a deal but this makes the saying "you get what you pay for", true. Never again will I go near this airline. I think the cheap flight attracts a class of people that otherwise would never fly. My flight home on Southwest was excellent, only 13 more with free bags. Spirit charges cheaper prices online than at the counter and higher prices than quoted during booking. I'm done. 5 thumbs down is what this airline gets."
