Pros: "Flying Alaska airlines is always something I have a bittersweet relationship. I love almost everything that Alaska does to improve their airline. Their wifi is some of the best in the US and its very affordable. Their "picnic box" snacks are awesome and unique, better than what you will find elsewhere, they have USB and full AC outlets at every seat, and their rewards program is the best in the business. By all accounts, AlaskaAir would be my favorite airline out there. But the staff that Alaska hires is just so terrible. Everytime I fly with them, they have simply the worst staff. Pair this with some of the best features of any airline and it leaves me scratching my head on whether or not I want to fly with them or to fly with an airline like Delta which might have fewer frills, but offers much better staff to help you."

If I'd not been a conscientious rule follower, I could have saved myself 25 bucks and gotten better luggage service. It was also extremely frustrating that even if checked in online the day before, Alaska Airlines system promptly told me that after I completed the online check in process I would be able to choose my seat assignment. NOPE!!!!! THEY WOULDN'T LET ME GET S SEAT ASSIGNMENT UNTIL I GOT TO THE DEPARTURE GATES AND HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR BEFORE ATTENDANTS EVEN SHOWED UP AT THE GATE DESK!!"

Why don't airlines schedule a minimum 3hours between Int'l-domestic connections. half the plane was stressing and freaking out about missing their connection even though the plane landed on time. "AA is not responsible for customs/security delays". Well, your customer service agents would have a lot less work if you didn't have to reschedule 100 people per flight. The time the plane drives/parks at the gate, you get off the plane and make it through customs, get your bag, recheck it (if need be, we didn't this time though), get through security and get to your gate, you'll be the luckiest person in the world to do that in less than 90 minutes."

However, once arrived in PHX, the connecting flight was in the same concourse, which was often not the case. So, could easily make the connecting flight. Also, the push by crew to "valet check" carry in luggage was too aggressive, especially since there was ample space to store luggage above the seats, then having to wait 10 minutes or more to retrieve luggage at entryway while being concerned about connecting flights was an example of a poor system for serving passengers when a flight is let."

After landing we sat on the tarmac without explanation for about an hour, which caused me to miss my connection to SBP. I ran the ridiculous gate change distance through the airport and arrived 1 minute prior to scheduled take-off and was not allowed to board. They left behind at least 8-9 passengers (that I saw) that were also delayed from the ORD-LAX flight – this is probably 1/3 of the flight. It's absurd. I then waited in the Customer Service line for 30 mins and was told I have to go online to request my flight credit for the flight I wasn't allowed to board. I was also told to request a credit for the rental car that I had to arrange last minute online. United did absolutely zero to assist. The next flight out wasn't until after 11am the next day, which caused me to miss a prepaid event, which was the entire reason for my trip. I had to drive over 3 hours in the middle of the night arriving 5am the next morning due to United Airlines' incompetence."

Pros: "When getting on the second plan the crew members were literally running back and forth to get the right information in the computer, with seconds to spare before the plane actaully leaving us we were able to get board."
Cons: "Me and my husband were on time to our first flight, but they closed the gates on us 15 minutes early! And when we went to costumer service the lady didn't reprint our tickets to make sure we had actual seat on the plane. After waiting another 5 to 6 hours In the airport and knowing we needed to already be home, when trying to board on the full plane we almost were able to get on our second plane either."
