They put my husband and I in an exit row and my daughter at the back of the plane with strangers. I was not comfortable with strangers being responsible for my child. I assumed they would seat children with at least one parent. We did ask to move at the gate and the accommodated us with the last row on the plane. No recline, no window, and right next to the bathrooms. We took it to be with our kid but this policy needs to be revised. Kids should always be seated with the adult responsible for them... who knows what kind of person might end up next to my child. Not to mention if she had needed something is the stranger gonna take care of it? It’s just a bad practice imo."

The crew was cheerful and accommodating. They did the normal beverage service, but also brought complimentary water and coffee 3x during the rest of the flight. This was greatly appreciated, especially after 5 days of drinking and partying. My buddies and I spent two and a half days in Las Vegas for a bachelor party followed by two days in the LA area for a wedding (yes we did it Hangover style) :) Thank you Delta!"

Cons: "What I did not like was the process to go to the assigned air terminal in El Salvador, the process was slow and we took the flight at the end of the last one. The same was the process from Los Angeles to Seattle that was our scale. Process too long and go back through security, the boarding gate was almost closed. I think that for these cases they should leave more time for the stopovers that come from international flights. For my part I did not choose this option, since I was traveling with a person with mobility problems and separated the group for admission to the process of entering the USA."

Of all the types of food to serve, leaving Vancouver, why not showcase great Canadian seafood or cooking? Everyone going TO India will soon get to eat amazing local Indian food, so why risk making poor-quality imitation Indian food?"

Then we waited another hour and a half to speak to representatives and get our hotels. Then another hour to the hotel to go to sleep. Because I had to be back at the airport in 7 hours to catch the next flight. It would have taken me 2 hours to drive to Seattle from Vancouver."

Dinner was mediocre but at least some was available, which I didn't expect on an overnight flight starting after dark. ("Breakfast" was a slice of really tasty banana bread but nothing else.) I really appreciated the presence of outlets and USB ports for charging electronic devices, and that the seats had adjustable headrest flaps. These are essential features on long flights!"
Cons: "It's almost impossible to sleep in economy class seats, even with the adjustable headrests. I recognize that economy is supposed to be the "no frills" class of travel but sleep is not a luxury. Sleep is a basic human need, like food and oxygen. I don't actually believe that offering better accommodations for everyday passengers (off whom the bulk of airline profits are made) is financially unfeasible or unreasonable."

Some 400-600 people were trying to leave the airport through two lines to pass off the last sheet which is unnecessary. They should take a lesson from other airports like Hong Kong and Singapore. Absolutely despise going through Toronto airport as well as Air Canada gates when departing."

Cons: "At SFO it is always a mess when you take a flight because you can either be in International terminal - that would be logical, since this is a us Canada flight but at other times you need to go to the united ticket counter instead (even though I get sent between the counters often I can't remember if this is terminal 3) - The lady in line was trying to get my dad to leave this line to go to the other counter line without asking about his specific flight, it caused an argument in my travel party because they thought she was right and I insisted we stay in this line. The lady didn't even acknowledge what I was trying to say and kept telling my dad to go to the other terminal when we were at the correct one. There is nobody that can seem to tell you which terminal to go to prior to arriving at the airport so it doesn't help when someone provides misinformation at the airport while in line. Travel can already Be stressful."

Pros: "I upgraded to be in the front for more leg room cuz I'm a tall lady. It was the first time I did that and I was comfy. Definitely doing that again. I also like how discreet the flight attendant was when I requested a seat belt extender."
Cons: "The security at the gate is poorly organized. Even though there are bathrooms at the gate, security will not let you use them! You must leave the gate, walk down the hall to the bathrooms, and then reenter the gate and be searched again!! This is a problem that can be easily fixed but they need more people speaking up before they will. Wheni spoke with people, Security blamed it on United and United blamed it on the security."

Cons: "I don't fully understand why, but I was unable to get my boarding pass for my flight to Chicago from Toronto until I arrived in the Toronto airport. Toronto airport sequesters off international arrivals, so in an ideal world, I would have been able to go through security directly to into the U.S. terminal, bypassing Canada customs. However, the United desk that I needed to get my boarding pass from located just before security was unmanned. The very kind Air Canada attendant called for a representative multiple times, but after 45 minutes of waiting no one ever arrived to print my boarding pass for me. The Air Canada employee then gave up on any United staff showing up and suggested I try going through Canadian customs and checking in at the same departure desk travelers first entering the airport would go through and make sure to let them know how long I was waiting. The United employee I spoke with told me that I was impatient and should have continued waiting because now she didn't know what would happen with my checked bag and that I may well need to wait 2 hours more for that to get sorted out. I was rather surprised by her overly negative response and apparent threat. If I was irate or yelling that might have been warranted, but frankly, I was so tired from the international travel I didn't have the energy to fight with her. Regardless, I wish I had been more impatient, it was far easier to go through customs twice than I expected. I would have preferred to spend more time in the lounge inside the terminal than to stand by the United desk waiting for someone to arrive to print my boarding pass. At any rate, Canadian+US customs have it together; when I went through U.S. customs to get into the terminal they had the photo of my checked bag right there."

Pros: "Seat was roomier than I expected for economy class. United did arrange for hotel, shuttle and food vouchers for those of us who missed our connections. The hotel (Biltmore in Santa Clara) was very nice. The plane crew did their best to help passengers with connections to catch, especially those with international ones."
Cons: "Delay at boarding: long LONG motionless line with no explanation to this large crowd of passengers led to delay in departure. Many missed connections, including mine. Later on, learned that some mechanical problem was the cause, so delay understandable, but someone should have made an announcement to the waiting passengers. Due to conventions in SF, we were told, we had to be put up in Santa Clara, down in Silicon Valley, an hour away. Expecting major morning traffic jams, we asked for a 5 am shuttle (plane leaving at 8, plus having to go thru security again). Since it took 2 hours from landing in SF at 10:30 pm to getting to the hotel, there was little time for sleep and no food available at the hotel at those hours. The shuttle drivers seemed confused, relying on GPS to guide them and speaking little English."

I like when airlines give you one free carry-on and one personal item so you can have you purse or laptop bag or whatever separate from your luggage. I also didn't like how you had to pay for refreshments. It is always nice to have to option of 1 free beverage and maybe some pretzels when you're flying. Also, the seats are pretty uncomfortable, but that is not really something that can be fixed."

The only reason I did not give this a poor rating is because the plane didn't crash."

They said a plane was un boarding so we had to wait till they were done. Very cheap plane don't try it. My first experience is the worst."

Slept with our coats over our pillows. Bad start to trip.... we were told our trip was extended 1 day because we lost a day. When we got to the airport on our new day to leave we were told we were NO SHOWS to the flight the previous day which was supposed to be changed for us. Thank heaven there was room on the flight and they quietly put us on it. We never made any kind of scene or had any harsh words with anyone.... but, DONE WITH SPIRIT AIRLINES!!!!"

Cons: "Flight was delayed over 2 hours due to mechanical issue. No back up plane or alternate flight. We finally boarded the plane and sat on it for 20 minutes or so, then were told the pilots left the plane and there was no backup crew. They only offered either refunds or the same flight the following day. I had prepaid car and hotel reservations as well as critical things to do the next day. They offered no compensation, not even bonus miles, vouchers, or meal tickets and showed a real lack of concern for their customers. This cost a lot in terms of wasted time, extra expense, and lost opportuniy. I will never fly this airline again. I had to rebook another airline at a much higher rate as well. Terrible experience, wasted time and money. I did not feel valued as a customer."
Cons: "My connecting flight was delayed due to maintenance problems with the plane. They made us board another plane just to tell us to de-board because the pilot traveled his max miles already. After that the flight was cancelled with the earliest flight being the next night. Everyone was very unhappy as we all had somewhere we had to be. Customer service did do refunds and rebooking but it was just an overall terrible experience. If you're looking for reliability, spirit is not the way to go. I'm never booking with spirit again."

Cons: "Though the crew was friendly, throughout most of the flight the flight attendants gave pitch after financial pitch about the 'Spirit Credit Card' or the 'Spirit Programs'. The trip was nothing more than a big sales pitch to continue investing in the company. I understand that business is business, but this went too far. Furthermore, after one of my flights was cancelled due to weather, I was informed that the soonest Spirit could fly me out would be 3 days later. Understandably, Spirit is a small airline, so I'm sure this was not uncommon. When I asked to be transferred to another airline to leave sooner, I was told that Spirit was not responsible for getting me to my destination any faster. A woman at the 'help desk' then took a leisurely 45 minutes (while my flight was boarding) telling me that buying any other flight would cost me between $2,000-$3,000. Spirit airlines is treating their customers like credit cards to be swiped. The self-centered money-hungry culture throughout Spirit will surely be their downfall if swift action is not taken immediately."

Cons: "There are multiple small and a couple of big issues with Spirit Airlines. The small issues include: Small cramped seating without ability to recline. Charge extra for EVERYTHING including a cup of water or soda. Those issues aren't a big deal but a couple of issues came up which makes this airline a bottom dweller in the US market. Top issue is the charging extra for baggage which ends up being a $80-200 hidden fee. The standard for airlines in North America is that 1 carry on bag and 1 personal item is included in the ticket price. Spirit should either not be allowed to advertise on Kayak or have a side note stating that they will be charging this hidden fee and the advertised price is not accurate for the majority of travellers. They are preying on customers not noticing this and being hit with $200 round trip charge at the gate. Another big issue with my trip is they overbooked the flight and assigned multiple people to the same seats. Was dumfounded that this could happen and made me slightly worried about my safety."

After deplaning, we were told the flight was canceled and to go back to ticketing. 180 passengers then went to ticketing, where no one talked to us, for another hour. Finally the ticket agents told us there were no flights until the next day. I was 7th in line at ticketing, and after 2 hours in line, I finally got a ticket to KC for four days later."
