Alaska Airlines made no mention whatsoever that this flight was not at all direct, but in fact had a 2 hour layover in San Diego. There was no mention of this during the purchase process, and we didn't find out about the layover in San Diego until were were ALREADY AT OUR TERMINAL GATE. This is very deceiving and absolutely unacceptable."

Our two kids flew with us, and one of whom is a 12 year old girl. Even she couldn't be accommodated to sit with one of us. The staff on the phone and at the airport were of no help because the flight was full. In all other international flights I have taken over the past 30 years, the airline company always does group seat assignments appropriately so we are all seated together. Disappointed. Won't be recommending the airline to anyone. Sorry."

Cons: "the gate was never posted on the mobile boarding pass, online, the tv next to the gate or the airport boards (it was never posted anywhere). Everywhere said TBD or was blank when everything else was filled. I only accidentally found the gate because I knew my flight should be boarding so I went to all the lines and it ultimately was the unmarked one and I had to ask the person at the desk. I almost missed this flight because the lack of communication on what gate the flight was from."

Cons: "They boarded group 1 all at once. I was group 2. They boarded all of us all at once. It was a cluster!. I haven't flew in 6 years. But when I did they boarded by so many rows. Not all at once . Boarding was horrible. It was like a cattle drive."

The problems started when we landed. Seems all gates were taken so we moved to an international gate as a domestic flight. For that reason we needed to deplane using buses since we were not authorized in the international section of the airport. It took forever to deplane and many missed their connections. One girl passed out in our bus due to the wait/stress/heat. Once we arrived at the baggage area it was complete chaos. I have traveled for years almost on a weekly basis and i never saw such a chaos. The floor was filled with luggages. Some were two days old. Our flight never showed up on the carrousel screen. There was no announcement or guidance from Air Canada giving any insight if we were going to get our luggage at one point. After 2 hours we left. The line to get a claim was very long so we left without filling the claim as we were having several hours to drive home. I called on the way home to submit a lost luggage claim. Took 45 minutes to get an agent. The agent was able to do the claim. I don’t want to blame the staff. There was clearly something broken in the system. This is probably due to lack of staff due to Covid but Air Canada should plan for that. They cannot sell more tickets and not able to handle volume.

Maybe it’s the leg space and the seats? Not sure. Could also be the odd time zone crossing."

Our flight got in at 1am and because a family member needs assistance we were told to wait by some parked golf carts and someone would be right over to assist, we waited as we saw all passengers walk by and flight crew and no one showed. Then decided to slowly start walking and after awhile an angel of the airport staff, I wish I got her name to thank her saw our struggling through and quickly ran to grab a wheelchair and assisted us right to our shuttle service.These are the things that make airport service more pleasant, for such a state of the art airport the experience for passengers should run a little smoother and assistance to those that need it should be readily available. Too many flights departing at the same time, created limited space to sit/stand. One passenger pasted out, and had a seizure upon hitting the floor face first, because of the stuffed space, and lack of air movement and available seats. They did have a fan in the area but it didnt do much to circulate air. Once we boarded an hour late, the ground crew were nowhere to be found. We waited 30min on the plane for crew to board our luggage. We were told they left the area to work somewhere else, and would be back soon. Ugh! I would not fly Air Canada again, esp through Toronto again."

The system is so disorganized that you have to keep asking employees what to do and it seems to change as you go from one line to the other. It's not hard to design good lineups. Have good sineage in many places and have one line for one purpose, not many lines in different places for the same purpose that change with the whims of the staff. I'll be attempting to fly with other airlines next time as this airport system is just too much."

Cons: "After weather forced us to miss our flight to Delhi from Toronto (understandable), Air Canada booked us on an AC flight to London and then an Air India flight to Delhi from London. In Toronto they told us that we couldnt get our bags because they were in storage, but that they would be on the plane to London and then to Delhi. Upon arriving in London, Air India told us that Air Canada never booked us on their flight to Delhi - that neither of our names were on their manifest. Air India was helpful in getting Air Canada's mistake fixed. Upon arriving in India, my partners bag was nowhere to be found. It would be logical to assume that his bag was in London and never made the imaginary flight Air Canada booked us on. However, even though our bags sat in Air Canada storage for 24 hours, his bag was never even loaded onto our flight to London. He didn't receive his bag until 6 days into our trip, causing all of us to miss out on multiple experiences, including the ability to leave Delhi because of our need to get his bag and multiple missed and promised deadlines from the airline."

Cons: "More time was spent by cabin attendees selling food and drink items to one row than the rest of the passengers, making us wait for complementary water or other drinks . Really? There should be equal service for all passengers. Makes me wonder if there are incentives for the sale of extra items"
Pros: "Once we got going, it was a decent flight. Weather conditions made for a bit of a rocky landing on the first leg."
Cons: "Lack of information for delays. Boarding was slow due to unknown issue. We sat at the gate for a while without knowing why (they finally told us 5 minutes before pushoff), then we dawdled for another hour taxing and waiting for the runway, with no explanation until near the end."

Cons: "The boarding process could've been better (no excess of gate changes, overbooking the flight, and kicking people out of their seats). Additionally, the food on board could've been better. My chicken was not chicken and lastly the airline's hard product could've been better, no IFE is a big no-no."

Pros: "For the first time I did not fly on a puddle jumper. Not only was it a real jet, it had good seat comfort and leg room even in economy class. The crew was friendly and attentive. They came by with offerings of water at least 4 times for a 2+ hour flight. Contrast that with my last two 5 hour flights on Virgin and American where they came by with water — ONCE. WiFi wasn’t working for either flight and of course the lack of decent food is discouraging. The coffee has improved which is a plus. Overall, good job, United! Nice not to be jammed in like sardines for once."
Cons: "Every time I fly to Denver, we land in one terminal and your connection is in another terminal that requires a train ride to get there. ,ayovers are short — generally barely an hour. If the flight is late you stand a very good chance of missing your connection, as I’m betting happened to over half the passengers on this flight. I was the lucky exception — this aircraft was actually the connecting flight too. Why can’t all United connections be in the same terminal? It makes no sense."

Cons: "United airlines employee Mearle at the check in counter was extremely disrespectful, Rude, and arrogant towards everyone in line at the counter Trying to check in. Many customers including us waitted in the check in line for 35 minutes or more while Mearle proceeded to chat on her cell phone (personal call), and taking a break leaning the check in counter while everyone waited on her so she could assist with check in. Finally the passengers in front of us voice their concern to mearle stating that everyone is going to miss theirs flights if she didn't assist us all right away. Mearle responded by snapping back by saying "it's not my fault that united keep us understaffed and pay us enough to care " then laughed and walked away again. At this point we realized that if we did not get immediate assistance, that we would surly miss our flight. I walked in front of the line on behalf of everyone standing in line and reiterated to Mearle in a firm tone that she insisting check in the remaining 12 passengers immediately. Mearle snapped back telling me to "worry about my own self and don't tell me how to do my own job". Feeling very stressed out And worried about missing my flight went and stood back in line again. A few moments later I over heard Mearle tell the passengers ahead of us " you're too late. You've missed your flight" these passengers became very upset with Mearle telling her that she's the reason they missed the flight and Mearle laughed and said out loud to everyone else in line.. "you all missed your flight. You all should be more responsible next time and get here earlier" and then Mearle walked away never to be see again. Many of us missed our flight which caused many of us to also miss our connecting flights. We immediately called the 800 number and filed a complaint. Then we were forced to drive three hours in traffic to LAX where we caught a later flight and barely made it to our destination in time for our work event. We swore that because of Mearle and her disgusting behavior that we will never ever fly united again (and I fly a lot for my job) and since that horrible experience with Mearle two months ago, I've flown on four trips spending over $2300 dollars and every flight has been booked through American Airlines. Do to Mearle's bad attitude, disrespectful personality, and poor representation of united we will never do business with united again. We suggest united airlines remove Mearle from Having any contact with the general public as we are sure that Mearle is loosing customers for united at a very rapid pace."

I struggled with my check in (I had just had a spine procedure done 48 hrs prior).... and by the time I got help from an agent it was 7:03 am, so... They wouldn't give me a boarding pass for my 8 am flight. Add to that an extremely rude ticket agent who couldn't care less about helping me, and almost seemed to enjoy my predicament, and that sums up my experience with this airline. I will never fly with them again, that's for sure; there's so many other airlines that actually care about their customers, this is not one of them."
