Long Beach Airport is such a breeze!
I am deaf. So a 7 1/2 hour flight with no close caption available for movies was useless for me. I was told it is only available for flights to Japan. Seriously? Very disappointed and insulting.
Easy TSA check ups and more bathrooms.
The flight was on time and the boarding process was very smooth.
I like that a meal was served. Headsets were only $4 to purchase. Friendly courteous staff. Great job! Mahalo
My flight was delayed by 8 hours. Information regarding each successive delay was not clearly communicated, staff was helpful but overall left uninformed by higher-ups. The airline only offered a $15 voucher for meals as compensation and I was left very disappointed by Hawaiian airline's poor handling of the situation.
The Hawaiian airlines customer service is unmatched. From the counter to the flight crew, this is the best airline I’ve flown.
Seats were uncomfortable not enough space for such a long flight.

Hawaiian Airlines used to serve pretty decent airplane food but they’ve lost it. Some kind of soggy Stuffed warm bagel with who knows what inside, mushy and indistinguishable. Just awful! And WiFi did not work well and entertainment selections poor-most adventure/violence. Very disappointed.

First flight from Kauai was cancelled: notified by text when in line to check in. Able to rebook from Kauai to Honolulu after a long wait. Actual flight from Honolulu to Long Beach was bumpy but otherwise comfortable with very good service.
I couldn’t go because Maui mandated vaccines!

The customer service agent in Kona was able to book out baggage straight through to Papeete which saved us the hassle of picking up baggage in Honolulu and checking it in again."

Cons: "We had splurged on Business Class as it was our 25th wedding anniversary. Food options were not great. I follow a plant-based diet. Hawaiian Airlines do not offer any meals for plant-based (aka vegan) diets. They have vegetarian, but that is not acceptable for vegans. I spent 8 years living abroad. Many foreign carriers allow you to go online and manage your meals prior to your flight; vegan, kosher, low salt, Hindu, gluten free, etc. Business Class experience was much less than other airlines we've flown. Airbus aircraft are always seem on the "cheap" side to me."

It was Japan Airlines that was excellent. I don’t know why it shows American Airlines.
First class was very comfortable. Airline attendants were attentive. A bit late leaving on departure but On time arrival. Snacks were served as it was an overnight flight.
We boarded the plane Sunday evening. We were then told that the pilot had a medical emergency and they were waiting for a replacement. Apparently, he became "lost". We were then told that another pilot was checked in and on the way. He never showed up either. The flight was delayed until Monday morning. The crew was very nice and the one pilot who was there was informative. The customer service staff who got us all rebooked and booked in a hotel were very nice and helpful. However, my husband and many others had work on Monday; we were exhausted due to getting less than four hours of sleep. People have said that the pilots are being overworked.
Yet another delayed American Airlines flight (the one coming over was delayed too.). I understand these things happen. My issue is that the flight crew does a lousy job of keeping passengers informed of what is going on with the delays. They wait until 15 minutes after your scheduled departure to tell you why you're still sitting at the gate. Then they tell you it will only be another 5 minutes. After 20 more minutes they decide to tell you why you haven't moved, and it should only be 5 MORE minutes. Really, American, if you don't have any idea how long the delay really might be, don't just pull numbers out of the air. People prefer honesty to BS.

There was no entertainment and again, the seats were very cramped and uncomfortable.

Cons: "Flute gate changed 35 min prior to boarding to a new gate that was a 10 min walk. That was stressful. The flight ended up being delayed 20 min as well."

Cons: "we were packed in like sardines on American airways ..NOT British airways. I’ve flown overseas on European flights before and there is more attention to comfort. We sat in front of the lavatory and could not sleep because every time someone used it, the light flashed in our eyes and the flush was quite loud. I paid extra for the seats we had but did not know they were right by noisy bright rest room."

Too many announcements - and I don't like it when they play movie trailers, commercials, etc. over the sound system. The food was horrific. I wish American Airlines would charge $20 more per ticket and provide some reasonable food. Everything just screamed LOW QUALITY. Lucky I had brought a sandwich and some snacks with me on board. The food was so bad that I didn't even touch it. They should just eliminate the food completely and tell people to bring their own on board."

It took so long, eventually they allowed people to cut in line as their flight departure times neared. 2+ hours later, I finally got to a kiosk to print my boarding pass and baggage tag, but now another line to drop off my bag on the conveyor belt. With less than 30 minutes to departure, and still haven't gone through security, I gave up and made my checked bag a carry-on as well. And then tight seats on the plane, with no individual screens (the movie played on a tiny screen 2 rows up in the aisle.)"

Once we arrived in Madrid it was very nerve wrecking because we had to go to several places in and explain everything and we needed to do a lot of running in order to make it to our flight on time, all this with two small children and people that were so unwilling to help"
