Pros: "After the initial delay, the female desk agent got us on another connecting flight without a problem. Second flights attendant was also great."
Cons: "They boarded the plane, only to tell us they had to de-ice, which is understandable. However, after waiting 20 min for the de-icing that never came, they made us get back off the plane because of mechanical issues. The captain/pilot was rude to the woman working the desk over the radio, to the point where she had to leave the desk and go speak to him in person (she knew we could hear everything.) That conversation is also how the whole line of people was informed that then knew about this mechanical issue since the night before, and chose not to fix it before boarding all of us. After getting to Philadelphia later than expected, we were forced to pay for hotel food that was horrible and overpriced. Only to then have our plane be delayed AGAIN because of mechanical issues, again the pilot not giving much information to the attendant she was faced by a room of 40 angry people and had no answers. The departure time slowly crawled out longer, and the only reason I knew was because of having the American app. Information/communication on all ends was poor. I usually fly Allegiant, which is notoriously “cheap,” and I’ve never had an experience like this. Happy my boyfriend has flown with American before and knew to give us an extra day so we didn’t miss the wedding we paid $800 in airline tickets to attend. Just disappointed."

Made my connecting flight with 6 minutes to spare. Never received beverage service. Took 20 minutes to do the first 6 rows and then was discontinued because of turbulence."

Pros: "Horrible hospitality. The flight was initially delayed for computer issues which understandably happens. However, we were later switch to another plane 4 hr later, boarded, de iced, taxied, then notified he flight was cancelled at 1 am because the crew hit their maximum work time. We were de-boarded. There was no organization to get vouchers passed out. The hotel ran out of rooms for passengers. The whole trip was 16 hrs delayed and no customer service provided."

Cons: "it was not BA flight American Airlines. For a 6-hour cross-country flight, there was no entertainment of any kind. More than that, no blanket or a pillow was available which made the trip so much worse. Worst of all, the last 90 minutes of the flight all the toilets ran out of water so they can't even be flushed. First time I have ever come across such a problem. Absolutely terrible."

Pros: "Comfortable and wide seats in coach - as wide as or wider than my usual airline. Flight attendants were friendly and helpful. I had bad experiences with American in the past, but this one was surprisingly pleasant."

In getting to London, I was automatically rebooked, but with a flight that got me in 10 hours later than expected. I asked customer service about alternate flights, with or without connections, that might get me in earlier, but was given a quite curt, "that is not possible," and turned away. Even if that was the case, which seems unlikely given the multiple other flights arriving in Luxembourg from European airports earlier in the day, it was not particularly friendly."

We landed with 10 minutes until the flight to Costa Rica left and they let all of us who were connecting deplane first, only to run full speed to a gate who’s plane left 10 minutes EARLY and decided that it was not going to wait for the 12+ passenagers who had no control of the delayed flight. My fiancé and I were flying to our WEDDING. So now I’m sitting here in Houston for a full 24 hours waiting for the next flight to take me to my wedding. The only “accommodation” united airlines gave us was a hotel. No compensation for the night we paid for at our resort in Costa Rica that we are missing, no upgrades to a better class on our new flight and no reassurance on how terrible they feel for this giant and heartbreaking inconvenience. I am furious."

Cons: "I am enrolled in MileagePlus United Card member which has one check in bag free for the first time. Still I was charged me $50 extra for my check in bag. They should have told me prior at the time of check in but they stopped me at the gate. I am not at all happy with what has happened."

We sat on runway for 15 minutes due to weather(which the airline cannot control). However once we took off the air still did not work and the plane was uncomfortably warm with little air movement."
