Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Comfort and space"
Cons: "Crew were not friendly at all; I was sitting in the very last row and could hear them complaining about various things. The passenger next to me asked multiple questions and was flat out ignored each time. The seats were very cramped, the flight delayed; a friendlier crew could have made up for that"
Pros: "They were effective at boarding"
Cons: "My display monitor didn’t work"
Pros: "Staff always amazing."
Cons: "Everything was good overall."
Pros: "Nice new interior"
Cons: "Immediately after all passengers were boarded United discovered the plane had to be replaced. We all had to deplane, wait an hour more for a new A320, and reboard. Also irritating that delays are posted at 15 minute intervals and then updated; so you have to keep updating friends & family via WiFi. If it's predicted to be an hour, say so."
Cons: "All was good"
Cons: "Not enough legroom"
Cons: "There was no entertainment available on this flight. It's a short flight so I don't expect any, however, I continued on to Phoenix that day from Chicago and that is a long flight. I expected free entertainment on that flight, as it was afforded on the flight on the Phoenix to Chicago leg of my flights earlier in the week. The Chicago to Phoenix had entertainment offered but it there was a fee, which I didn't appreciate and did not take part in. I looked around me as much as possible and didn't see anyone else pay for entertainment. Having in flight movies and TV available for feee is a great incentive for flying with United. If these long flights in the future are pay for view, I will not be flying with you when there are alternative carriers who do provide free entertainment. Thank you."
Cons: "Late late late. 12 hours later I'm still not on a plane home"
Pros: "Fantastic service! Much obliged for everything!"
Pros: "My attendants"
Cons: "No free food"
Cons: "Need to pay for everything... internet, tv, and snack. Long flight when you cant fork out more money for what was free with canadian airline"
Pros: "That it only took 4 hours to get home for Washington"
Cons: "Plane was horrible personal mediocre."
Pros: "The food choices were good and the service was excellent, Always kind and responsive to my needs and attentive."
Cons: "Boarding could be done by letting people with window seats being seated first, then the middle seats next and finally aisle seats last! That way people would not have to get up from their seats after they have been sitting down to get back up to allow the people in the inner seat to get to their seats a pond boarding the plane after the people in the aisle seat are already sitting!"
Pros: "Small plane. Smooth. Loved it"
Cons: "space tight"
Pros: "No issue and on time"
Pros: "everything service, manners, and even though I was in last row they treat me well"
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Boarding takes too long"
Pros: "Everything was pleasant."
Cons: "Waiting in Newark airport for passport, custom and security check too long, almost missed next flight. After boarded waited almost 1 hour in a plane to take off."
Pros: "Good service good snacks."
Cons: "This airline is so beyond awful. American has the most janky planes, uncomfortable seats, and worst service on the plane. I had to beg the flight attendant to get me a wine because I was asleep when they came by and missed them by not even a half hour... She acted like it was so hard and it took asking 4 times and finally just asking another person. I was so annoyed. They also have shitty food selections per usual. Who chooses those snack items?! They clearly have no taste. I was miserable the whole flight. I usually am not a miserable traveler so this isn't just me being negative, I seriously may write one review every few months, only if something is really good or really bad. The fact that I'm even taking the time to write this says a lot!!!"
Cons: "I paid for something and I expected to get it. For most of my trip I sat business class but on my flight back to phx from Houston not only did I get an economy seat but I also got put on the last group to board. I can't help but feel a bit cheated here."
Pros: "On time , smooth flying, great service"
Pros: "Seats were comfortable - a first for me! It was also helpful to get delay information by text, though it wasn't very accurate."
Cons: "Timing of delay changed and ended up being very optimistic - we were much later leaving than we were told and further delayed when approaching Phx airport. United was not responsible for that, but the further delay meant changes in plans."
Pros: "I felt comfortable. Staff was great."
Cons: "The cracker and cheese box. The snack wasn't worth the money."
Pros: "Everything was fine."
Pros: "Soon as I started the flight it seem like we were getting ready to land"
Cons: "It was a little packed"
Pros: "United got me from point A to point B"
Cons: "Crew was rude, not just to me, but to other patrons. Flight was packed going and the man scanning boarding passes spoke to those of us asking simple questions as if we were stupid and defiant. Was he a prison guard in his previous job? On the way to Newark, I had an aisle seat. One of the stewardesses blazed by me with a cart ramming it into my shoulder without so much as a, "sorry." I'm not a big woman but maybe as I dozed off I leaned over a bit...There is no way she didn't feel her cart hit me. Rudeness, it seems is a part of the culture at United because the flight attendants coming back squeezed past the long line for the bathroom without saying, "excuse me." They did however, say, "I need to get by," and one of them brushed by the gentlemen sitting next to me and bumped his laptop and coffee. Overall it seems that the crew working these particular United flights have forgotten that we pay hard earned money to fly. Some of us are going on vacation, to see loved ones, and some are flying to deal with unpleasant circumstances. The staff may fly several times a day, but most passengers do not. There's a lot of prep and anxiety, that goes into taking a flight and a surly flight crew multiplies that anxiety. No one wants to fly with a crew that hates their job."
Cons: "It was a new plane but it was extremely uncomfortable. The chairs were so stiff."
Pros: "Everything was fine once I got on board the aircraft"
Cons: "Once again I had to see an agent to get a seat assignment on a 30 min layover. I though I got an upgraded seat but instead they gave me the wrong boarding pass. Same last name different first name so I had to wait till it got figured out and then be the last person to board so once again I couldn't find a place for my bag. Probably one of the worse flying experience I've had in a while"
Cons: "Rows 20 to the back of the plane didn't get a beverage. Slow moving attendant. I was thirsty."
Pros: "There was a fairly entertaining TV show playing."
Cons: "The flight was only about half- full so when we boarded there were a lot of empty seats. In that situation been told before that we could change seats and spread out if we wanted to, but they didn't say anything. I was going to ask, but there were 2 flight attendants just leaning on seats & talking up until they announced to prepare for departure. Then during the flight when passing out snacks she handed me one and didn't even offer one for my husband sleeping next to me. She moved on the next row and was gone so quickly I didn't even have a chance to ask. When she came back around for drinks, I asked for 2 drinks (1 for me, and one for my husband still sleeping, in case he woke up), to which she responded, "I just won't open it then." She gave me just the can of soda, - no cup, no ice. So when my husband did wake up, he just drank it from the can. Oh, and it's a good thing my husband was sleeping for a portion of the flight because his monitor wasn't working."
Pros: "On time."
Cons: "Everything. United made no apologies."
Pros: "Staff excellent"
Cons: "Everything else, space restrictive"
Pros: "I liked the boarding process. The staff were nice people too."
Cons: "The plane made a horribly alarming screeching sound before takeoff. WiFi was out. The snacks tasted like stale trail mix from a Fresno gas station."
Pros: "Nothing out of the common."
Cons: "WiFi never worked. And again... Uncomfortable."
Cons: "Food selection awful"
Pros: "Good service"
Pros: "Was impressed w the new plane"
Cons: "Overhead storage a little small"
Pros: "That's it was fast and organized"
Pros: "Kayak e mails on gate changes and such"
Cons: "Delayed departure, changed gate."
Pros: "Flight was delayed due to malfunctions and then cancelled and we had to board another plane and wait two hours the arrival time in the destination to Phoenix was 3 hours later than anticipated"
