Passengers were divided in 5 lanes, depending on their seating area withing the plane (for a more efficient boarding, I presume) but, by the time we all got to the actual aircraft, we formed another queue in the boarding bridge so it didn't feel like any time was saved or anything.

Cons: Was not informed that checking in online is the only way to secure a seat. So, regardless of whether you book your tickets 3 months in advance or the day before, you're not actually guaranteed a seat unless you check in online. We weren't told this until we were at the airport and checked in there that we might not be able to get our pre-booked in advance flight because of over-booking from KLM. We then had to wait and see if there were seats available when boarding. Luckily, there were, but we were not sat together. Not the greatest start to our first holiday together as a couple. We were told that if there weren't seats available, they'd pay for us to get to another airport to fly out, which would have meant a huge delay on the only time off we'd get together this year and have to rearrange our pre-booked and pre-paid living arrangements for the week. All because there wasn't a lot of emphasis on the need to check in online before hand. You'd think if someone checked in at the airport, that would be more of a guarantee that they'd be flying with you that day, but apparently not. Definitely not impressed or happy with this part of the KLM experience. This is the only company that we've had this problem with, they should make it clearer that it is essential to check in online.

There were plent of seats on this flight that had extended legroom. A bit of a mystery, why Westjet elected to put usin the last seats on the plane?

Pros: We were on a 9 hour flight which is pretty exhausting on its own. However, Air France provided you with a pillow and blanket, as well as headphones, so that you can make the best of the long trip.
Cons: The chairs, for whatever reason, after just not that comfortable. Too squishy and they make noise when you adjust your position. I fidget a lot on flights so I felt like I was making a lot of noise. Also the plane didn't have cold air, do you get toasty pretty quick.

I was left absolutely none the wiser and it left a bad taste in my mouth.

When we landed in DFW there were 13 passengers on wheelchairs but there were only 3pushers.. there were 2 of us that were left and abandoned for about 40 minutes, I finally had to leave my chair and push the other lady's chair through passport control. Cons: The kosher food was abysmal which may not have been Air Canada's fault. When a seating problem arose with an ultra orthodox man who refused to be seated next to me (a woman) the flight attendant told me, "I don't deal with that." Finally another flight attendant found the man a seat between two men.
Pros: Crew was ok, entertainment was great
Cons: Seats in ac 787 are very soft, you will feel the knees of the passenger seating behind you, I couldn't fall a sleep, you feel a kick every time the passenger behind you moved his knees. Kosher food was terrible! Not eatible! Plane is very slow l, took 11.5 hours instead of 10 hours with the 747.

Pros: You fly a beautiful plane, the Boeing 787. Excellent entertainment, more comfortable seats, and just about everything on this plain was upgraded. It is a case study of how to do things right. The most impactful for me was air humidity. It was refreshing to fly and not feel like I've been in the Sahara desert at high noon. So, your starting point is really high, but you really need to look at your service.
Cons: our flight was 40 minutes late in departing TLV. My connection in Toronto then was changed to a later flight, which was then delayed too by 50 minutes. all in all a 14 hour flight with connection ended up being close to 18 hours. My biggest two complaints about the flight itself is the food & the toilets. Your meals are the worst I've had in a major airline, and you should not serve customer frozen of close to frozen bread or sandwiches. If you are serving rolls, sandwiches or pitas, or bagels heat them up first. El-Al has been doing it for decades, go look at how they do it. But besides the bread/sandwiches issue, your meals are a really bad version of frozen supermarket meals. Just terrible all round. The other complaint is the bathroom. It was not cleaned frequently enough.
Pros: Tel Aviv security is confusing and time consuming but Air Canada helps you make it through. Flight is on a comfortable new airplane with gray movie selection. Two full meals and a snack provided.

Pros: Crew were friendly and not bossy. Plane was not crowded. Pilot made up most of our lost time (see other box). Ground crew were friendly and efficient in Toronto, getting to me to my departure gate in time. I was pleased to be offered a food voucher.
Cons: Departure delay of 3 hours from Tel Aviv. Unruly Haredim should be left on the ground in Toronto, not in London. Food voucher was usable at only one outlet, and Burger Ranch is a greasy spoon. Would more choice be too difficult to organize?

Pros: My flight to Toronto arrived late which meant there would be no way for me to catch my connecting flight to North Carolina. An Airline rep was already waiting for me out of the terminal, with tickets for a new flight the next morning, a ticket for one night at one of the airport hotels(dinner included) and meal vouchers for the airport. This would have never happened with any US based airline.
Pros: Fantastic service. I will use Air Canada again.

Cons: The flight was delayed about an hour and a half, only after some time at the gate they explained it on the mic.I had a connection flight, and before landing they mentioned there will be agents helping those with upcoming connections to catch them up due to the delay, but those people just pointed me in the general direction of the gates. I had to ran all over the airport, confused after the terrible long flight, and since it was my first time there. I made it at the last second, they changed my seat without my permission and didn't have enough room for my bag so I had to check it. The general attitude of the crew was reluctant at best.The food was mediocre, like what you would have gotten in a flight 10 years ago, and they gave beef to people who asked for chicken. I wanted to be more cool about it, but it was a terrible flight in every Aspect, and I never even got an apology or a follow up.

Very confusing to get around in. And having to fill out custom papers for Canada when I wasn't staying in Canada or leaving the airport. Didn't like that. But the service of Air Canada makes up for the airport, I would use their service again.

Cons: The plane was SO, SO COLD. The entire plane of people were miserable. I literally shivered all the way from Toronto to Istanbul, huddled next to the stranger next to me, who was also freezing. It was unreal how cold it was. People kept asking the staff to turn the A/C down, to no avail. I couldn't wait to get off that flight.

Cons: The plane was overcrowded. Seating was extremely uncomfortable and much too narrow. I am a relatively thin person but the person to my right was large and kept on pushing into me during the entire flight. Plus it took us over an hour and 30 minutes before we left the airport because we had to wait until the entire plane off boarded before a wheelchair could be brought for my wife. After the wheelchair was brought and we picked up our luggage, (2 bags), which by the way were the last 2 on the carousel, there was only one line through customs for people with special needs. By the time we left the airport I spent at least 45 minutes trying to find the cab which had been sent from Rochester, NY to pick us up and when I finally found him he wasn't allowed to stop in the taxi lane to pick us up in the taxi lane because he wasn't an authorized cab in spite of the fact that I told the security person that my wife was in a wheelchair and the weather was close to 0 degrees celsus and it was snowing.
Cons: 1. I ordered kosher meal, and we haven't because it finished. 2. The flight was full I couldn't findo a sit with my kids. I sit separately.

Pros: This was my first Air Canada flight, and I was beyond impressed with the service overall. The plane was extremely nice and very spacious. The flight crew was very attentive and helpful, and had great attitudes. I had trouble with my entertainment screen early on, and a flight attendant went out of her way to reset and make sure it was working for me. The 12 hour flights both ways were comfortable and enjoyable.

Cons: The comform of the seats was very poor. Entertainment only worked half way. Stewards did not ask if I wanted to eat or not. Only pessengers on the alley seats were asked. Very little attention was given to make passengers comfortable.
Pros: We enjoyed the ability to have beer and wine included. We thought the meals going to Tel Aviv and on the return were very tasty, good portions, and served at the appropriate times. We loved the choices of movies/tv that were updated and new and also included.
Cons: The only issue we had was getting up to go to the bathroom midflight. There was some slight turbulence and the attendants demanded we sit down for safety (it wasn't too bad though) yet once we got back to our seats the turblence was fine, and we got up to go again and the same thing happened. There were long lines for the bathrooms. I'm not sure if that can be avoided though.

Pros: An agent heard about our first flight and seated my wife and I together, in a row with extra leg room. And after weather delays the crew gave the entire flight free entertainment - it was great!!
Cons: The woman at check in demanded my wife check in her carry on bag, because she had a small pocket book and a plastic bag with 3 souvenir t-shirts. I told her we'd put the purse in the bag but for some reason she demanded we check in our carry on. And we saw two women right in front of us with "3" bags... That meant an additional 30 minutes at bag check while our ride circled the airport. The was the last of 4 flights, and it was the only time anyone made this an issue.

It was quite obvious they did NOT care about our comfort or experience. Would NOT recommend unless I'm desperate and feel like being around people who hate their job and want me to know it.

Cons: United sucked on this leg. Flight never should have left Chicago. We were diverted to Oklahoma City, where United abandoned us. System was unresponsive and noone could override the system. Folks at the counter could not cancel the diverted flight, so United was not able to rebook us on other flights. This was at midnight to 2:00 am. I stayed at the airport to catch a 5:00 am flight to Houston, then to Omaha, then had to rent a car to get the rest of the way. United lied to us about what was happening to us several times. Then abandoned us when the pilots timed out.

Cons: Weather in Lincoln canceled the flight the night I was supposed to leave so I had to sleep in the airport. With that being said the flight and crew when I finally left to Lincoln were great.
