Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "If delay to much pls let customer out of plane"
Cons: "Nothing. Everything was great."
Cons: "The flight was delayed initially because of plane late arrival then rerouting and then delayed and cancelled. Spent the night on the floor with no offers for food or beverages or at least offering vouchers for delays not related to weather. Tried to lie and say it was weather related."
Pros: "The ground crew is helpful in fixing our seats. Boarding procedures are smooth and overall journey is comfortable"
Cons: "the airline can provide more options for us to selecting seat at self help counter. Provide options for food. There are 2 vegan meals out of 3"
Cons: "Flight was delayed by an hour. My bag did not get on the correct plane. It had to be delivered the following day."
Pros: "Missed by connection"
Cons: "Make layovers longer"
Pros: "Good flight"
Cons: "Nothing. Process was smooth"
Cons: "They canceled my flight. And they keep us at the airport until 10pm to tell us that flight got canceled. The worst part was they offer us to we buy with with “discount” embarrassing. They could tell me at 6pm that flight is canceled and to find other way to get to nyc."
Pros: "The crew was excellent!"
Cons: "I think quality of food Is not the same as it used to be. I travel frequently to Europe and breakfast served was not really anything special."
Pros: "One plane had comfortable seats, with adjustable headrests."
Cons: "The first plane had very uncomfortable seats that do not really lean back and no charging ports for devices. No free WiFi."
Cons: "Bogus reservation captured via Kayak!!!"
Pros: "The rest was as usual"
Pros: "not much"
Cons: "3 1/2 hrs late departing dfw, and luggage missing, found and delivered the next day."
Pros: "Customer service"
Cons: "My prepaid seat was not taken in consideration."
Pros: "The flight attendance kindly asked the passengers to allow for the people on the back with very thigh connections, due to stupids delays, to deplane first, but of course almost no one listened and as soon the plane reach the gate everyone stranded up clogging the hallway. There should be more education to the passenger in general. If you don't have a connection, just stay put for an extra 5 minutes, is nothing crazy to do."
Cons: "Waiting area completely packed, now sits available at all. Delays, a delay for weather or mechanical issues is understandable, but just because too many human factors, is unfortunately."
Pros: "Staff very professional, everything else went as planned. That's all one needs."
Cons: "We had a hard time hearing (clarity of speech) announcements over the intercom at the gate & on the plains (specially when the captain spoke). Nothing life threatening, but wouldn't want to miss something important."
Pros: "The crew was nice and so was the American Airlines customer service office in Phoenix"
Cons: "I didn’t like the male and female check in people in Portland. They sat there and watched me for an hour not telling me I could not use cash to check in my luggage at the gate after they told me it was double the amount to check it in at the gate. The sight u use on the boarding pass u download on the phone is not clear. It says baggage fee +$25.00. I thought it was 25.00 till the women in Phoenix showed me the + sign. She said “it is confusing”. I did not buy the ticket because it was for an unexpected funeral of my sister. My other sister did so I didn’t see all the stuff from Travelocity. After telling me it would be $50.00 the check in male and female at the gate saw me sitting there for an hour and never told me I couldn’t pay cash. By the time it was boarding time if a nice woman did not offer to use her credit card and I have her the $50 cash I would have missed my flight. The manager at the gate in Portland even told me I would miss my flight. The two check in staff at the gate said “well we didn’t know you only had cash” and they weren’t even concerned that I was going to miss my flight. It would of been nice of them to tell me this when I sat there for an hour after they told me They we’re doubling the price. I would of had time to go back through security, only pay $25.00 and the other nice passenger would have not had to use her credit card. Very rude and poor service especially after a sad occasion of burying your sister!"
Pros: "Left and arrived more or less on time. No major issues."
Cons: "Gates are way too far apart in Miami and the golf carts to get between areas seem to require reservations and long waits. Ridiculous. Most MIA staff was very rude (this wasn't American's own staff, or TSA, I should note). American stripped my group of our seat assignments (which we had selected 6 months prior) without reason and with minimal apology. No solution offered. Got middle seats but luckily was able to switch on one of the computer kiosks. Flight crew didn't seem to care that other people moved to the for-pay seats further up front (the flight wasn't full)... so why did we lose our seat assignments and get grief with not being able to select anything good? Not impressed."
Cons: "Compared with the 3 x 3 seating configuration on the AA A321 fleet, the 737-800 seating is very cramped. Significantly less leg room."
Pros: "Easy and quick boarding. Excellwnt service in first class. Comfortable ride."
Cons: "Nothing. Excellent travel experience."
Cons: "i couldn't get my seat before the flight. Coouldn't even find out it was on American airline. So I couldn't get gluten free meal for any of the legs of my journey and I have celiac's disease. A real problem!!!!!"
Pros: "Good food, kind staff, free booze"
Pros: "I loved that kayak grouped all my flights together into one easily accessible travel guide. The convenience of it all helped me out tremendously during my first visit to Japan. Overall a wonderful experience!"
Cons: "Absolutely nothing."
Pros: "Their Miami weather recovery of service during stressful & tragic times."
Cons: "Attendant at the gate forced me to leave my troley hand bag to be checked with the excuse the fly was full and there was not sapce for people on groups 7 and 8 ( seats rear in te plane). I explained her I had personal documents and stuff inside my trolley but she told me I had to take another fly if I refused to checked. Our surprise was that the space above our seats ( row 30) was available and left empty the while fly! It was not fear and discriminated!"
Pros: "Smooth and easy flight."
Pros: "Quick boarding, on time departure and early arrival. No waiting for a gate at LGA upon arrival - excellent."
Cons: "Flight was 4 hours delayed"
Pros: "Got into NYC early which enabled us to make our connection. Flight attendant also moved us to a row with more leg room."
Cons: "Cramped seating would have been miserable had we not been moved to an exit row."
Pros: "New and Updated plane, great service, great crew."
Cons: "30 minutes late taking off. Therefore arrived late."
Cons: "Check in was total chaos. Food was horrible."
Cons: "After everyone boarded they said they had a 2 hour delay and if you got off the plane your flight would be cancelled. After an hour of sitting on the plane they got everyone off so a different plane could board and take off and then everyone got back on the plane and continued to wait. We left 2.5 hours late and when we arrived at the destination the plane couldn't contact the tower?!?! So we waited another 30 mins...ridiculous, rude, and rather fly southwest"
Pros: "Crew was pleasant"
Cons: "Needed to return to gate to refuel after aborted takeoff attempt. Thi"
Pros: "convenience of Burbank airport"
Cons: "staff at check-in couldn't get my TSA pre-check printed on my ticket, got picked out to be patted down in regular line"
Pros: "There were no seats available together so we were upgraded to the extra room seats so that we could all sit together. As a mother flying by herself with 2 children, one of whom is on the Austin spectrum this gesture of being able to keep us together meant so much to all 3 of us. Thank you"
Cons: "Watched a very weird interaction between Muslim (with a hajib) women with a kiddo and desk crew. She wanted to sit next to her child on the flight and needed to switch seats to be able to. Woman was very gracious and understanding that she was asking for an accommodation. Ends up her flight to Philly had been moved to a different gate after they had found a volunteer to switch seats. Volunteer was totally unfazed but Desk crew made it seem as tho the Muslim mom was at fault for the time and trouble they had had to go through to accommodate her. She apologized profusely and was very appreciative for the trouble evernote had gone to for her. . As she walked away the crew looked at each other and shook their heads. Pretty crummy way to treat customers!"
Cons: "We lost our connection to Jacksonville"
Cons: "Older plane"
Pros: "Both my flights were slightly early (a plus for me, might not be for all) and I had no issues or complaints."
Pros: "The staff was so nice and helped me find my way around."
Cons: "Food prices a bit high when compared to buying the same thing outside the airport."
Cons: "Had to board three times, two different planes. I understand mechanical problems, but 3 hours later, and on another plane, the captain starts making stuff up, saying that the only reason we hadn't moved in the last hour was because people were using the bathroom, then something about having to deplane because the plane couldn't back up with us on it because of some sensor? And then, surprise ! All of the sudden they noticed there was an issue with his and some of the crews' hours and we had to wait till they could locate more crew. But they gave us each a 1/3 glass of water and later a $12 food voucher which didn't even cover a meal and beverage. Whoop-de-do. 7 hours later we finally boarded for the third and last time. The crew on the other hand stayed professional and friendly."
Pros: "Great Workers, and Super nice staff."
Pros: "Taking off and landing."
Cons: "Boarding was slow. Seating was cramped."
Pros: "Flights were on time if not early-Excellent"
Cons: "E tickets or even itinerary should have terminals listed on E ticket LGA-got off at Am terminal B to find out I was leaving from C Had to take shuttle to C. Return to NY same issue-had to ask what terminal I was at To notify my driver once I was off the plane."
Pros: "the crew was great, friendly and tried to make the flught comfortable"
Cons: "the seat i chose was not the seat i got. When i checked in i was not assigned a seat and had to wait in line to get a seat"
Cons: "Missed the connection in CLT to BTR even though flight status on AA's website indicated that it was delayed enough so that I could make the connection. Ended up spending the night in a cold-assed airport with minimal comfort. I was already confirmed on this flight and AA knew, or should've known, that I was enroute. Not pleased at all."
Pros: "Loved the check in process, crew was friendly and flight was great"
