Cons: "I purchased a fully refundable ticket. When the flight was canceled I got squat. Eventually got a voucher from Avianca. I paid for a ticket to get money back, not a voucher. Kayak where is my money!"

Gotta love to fly in early only to be told we’re going to sit on the plane for 20 mins on the ground waiting for a gate to open up. Detroit is the worst airport in the US.

The flight crew was very rude to people they thought were ignoring mask mandate. There was a lady that said her mask had slipped down and the flight attendant was very rude to her. When is the mask mandate going to be lifted? I wore my mask the whole time but really ridiculous that I have to still wear it. I have been fully vaccinated since February.

Consequently he had to be re-booked onto the next flight, which didn't leave until 2200."

They didn’t even bother to inform us of the change we only found out because we booked through Kayak and they let us know. Apparently Copa expects you to frequently check your booking just in case they’ve changed anything and don’t feel the need to inform their customers of any changes they make. Then we were told we could get a Copa voucher to use for other Copa flights for having to cancel our booking and rebook with another airline as a 48 hour change to our flight made flying with Copa not doable for us. But the website kept telling us we had a voucher that was sent to our email but despite repeated attempts it never came through. And spent hours trying to get through to someone on the phone to sort it out with no success ever getting through. My advice. NEVER EVER FLY WITH COPA."

Cons: "There was a prolonged delay on arrival in Panama, as the gate was apparently in use. They set up stairs (on the runway?) and they transported us by bus to the airport. On the connecting flight to Guatemala, they began boarding an hour before departure, only to wait on a bus to be taken to the aircraft. Apparently the airline doesn't only double book seats on flights, but on Gates on arrival and departure as well? Aside from this particular gripe, the crews were pleasant and the airfare was a relative bargain, so all in all not a bad option IMO."

Why do you (as an airline company) care how or when I am getting out of a country when the customs control itself doesn't care. If it's a rule for a country, let the country control it! Airlines need to stop enforcing this pointless rule because currently they are the only ones who care. This made for a lot of stress for us trying to get through check-in trying to "prove" we were leaving the country. Awful check-in process/rules. Also, the entertainment system should be more personalized like other up-to-date airline companies with individual TV's for everyone."
Pros: "Old plane with no technology. Flight attendants, 2 males, very unorganized and made you feel they were working at a stadium seling sandwiches. The lady besides me was travelling with all her family, a big group, and by mistake it seems that they ordered 2 gluten free meals. They needed only one. The attendant refused tongive the other lady a normal sandwich!!! He said, yoynare created an issue, now, you have to wait until we finish the service and we will see waht we can do ( we were on the row 6!!!) ant the end she accepted the gluten free because ahe was hungry. Unbelievable answer and zero empathy tonsolve the situation."

Pros: "I liked how accommodating the staff was with seating for my family, as I was traveling with two young children and we weren't seated together. There was more leg room than most other domestic air travel companies I have been on. There was no upgrade charge for every little thing, such as blankets, pillows, etc. We were fed on each flight, and alcoholic beverages were at no additional charge. The exit tax to leave Costa Rica was included in our ticket, which I was not aware of until I was leaving the country. (nice surprise). Over all, most other airline companies in the USA have made changes that improve their bottom line, but they have completely ruined any favorable aspect of traveling with their airline (American Airlines, Frontier, Southwest, Delta, etc). Copa has done a great job of providing great service and cost for travelers. Please do not change your business strategy by removing some of the above mentioned benefits I enjoyed in order to improve your profit margin. It is refreshing to know there are still air carriers out there that retain the service that is hoped for by most travelers. Also, Roxana and her entire flight crew were outstanding. Thank you , I will fly with you anytime I have the chance."
Cons: "The ticket counter in Managua is unlawfully closing flights when overbooked and telling passengers they were late. Then they charged change of ticket costs for next day flight and did not provide overnight stay. They filled up flight then all agents leave counter so passengers have no one to check in. Then they came back and said it was too late and flight was closed and passenger’s fault. Then they said because bilked through Kayak/Justfly, they said next flight was not available and had to leave on last flight out of Managua the following day. This is unlawful and outrageous activity."

(The site I booked through didn’t give me - or at least I didn’t see it- the option to request a special meal.) In this day and age, I really recommend they have a non-meat option. On another flight on this trip, I also asked for hot tea from the drink cart, and they said it was coming, and it never came."

Cons: "went to the airport to checkin for my flight from lax to panama, with a connecting flight to sao paulo, only to be told that because i didn't select a seat when i bought my ticket over 2 months prior, the airlines sold my seat (they overbooked the flight by 5 people or so). i had to wait at lax for the next flight, which wasn't until 8 hours later. the problem here was that i had bought a ticket to get to rio from sao paulo, and this delay made me miss that flight. so i had to buy another ticket, which was $175. i was only compensated a $400 voucher for missing the flight and for my time. not worth it. the airlines only provide you with a blanket. no pillow."

Cons: "I've flown Copa many times before and it's generally good for low-cost price but this time was horrible, probably because our first time with new baby. First, there was unexpected shock of having to pay $300 at gate for ticket for the baby, even though she is 4 months and sat on my lap the whole time. Never heard of charging for that and we had to pay % of roundtrip ticket cost right there and then. Second, they don't allow early boarding for families with small children. Third, and finally, on the trip back they also suddenly announced a "no checking boxes policy" which I had also never heard of. We had to take a baby swing out of its box, dismantle it, and carry on a large part of it. A total hassle and crew was not very understanding. Definitely think twice about flying Copa if you have kids."

Pros: "Total failure deception! I was denied access to the flight because of going into Peru they said I had to have a round-trip ticket and Copa would not let me on board. I was told this and after standing in line for over an hour waiting to check in at almost midnight in LAX. I spent hours on line I spent hours on the phone trying to recoup the situation. they wanted to charge me $325 to make changes plus other expenses of the airfare. I missed important connections in Peru. I am applying for a retirement visa there I should've been allowed to deal with immigration in Peru . However if it is the regulation of that airline that I'm not allowed in there without a round-trip ticket why did kayak sell it to me? Kayak cost me $539 and change not to mention a week and a half late getting to Peru! Customer service was just pretty much ridiculous I spent a lot of time on hold so somebody could go ask somebody who Ask somebody else a question. I could understand no refund however that was just downright not fair kayak and Copa airline basically screwed me over."

The staff in Chicago told me they couldn't promise to get me food to Quito, Ecuador, but that they had put in the request for my returning flights. When returning, I spoke with the staff in Ecuador & come to find out that no request was ever put in. There were only notes of my initial inquiry about requesting vegan meals. Fortunately, the staff was great and were able to get me a vegan meal and told me that they put in a request for my connecting flight. When getting to the gate for my connecting flight the following day, the staff tells me that there is no request for a vegan meal. They were great and were able to get me one, but it was a bit annoying to have to keep dealing with the same issue on all four flights, especially, when I had spoken with someone prior to my 1st flight."

Now almost 11 hours later we arrive in Costa Rica and because my passport was ripped they wouldn't let me in the country and sent me back. Why your airlines couldn't have told me this before I got all the way to Costa Rica and passed two check points I don't know. So you guys said you would send us to Puerto Rico but I would have to by my own plane ticket home... Very disappointed in your airline. And to top it off my boyfriend and I had very expensive osprey packs we were traveling with .. We used a copa plastic bag to wrap them up in Vegas so the strings would not get caught .. When we received our packs in Puerto Rico YOUR employees had taken the bags off and cut my boyfriends 300 dollar bag! I will never fly again with your airline."

When we finally reached the front an hour had gone by and the customer service rep then said we must have an exit flight from Guyana to get our boarding pass. This is the first we'd heard of this although we had researched visa requirements, etc for Guyana. We stepped out of line and quickly booked a flight on our phone, but when we tried to jump back in again the attendant made us wait in line again (a shorter one, but not smart considering the time crunch at that point. Finally we got to the front again and the attendant was very slow about entering our information. Then suddenly she calmly noted, "oh, it's too late to check you in, you can't make this flight." ... We were upset to say the least and after pestering her further about a reimbursement she said we would have to wait until she dealt with all the other customers (a long line of an hour or more) and that she couldn't put us on the next few flights because they were full. Finally she let us borrow her phone so that WE could call customer service and try to deal with it. They of course gave us the run around and we still don't have a reimbursement and will likely never book with Copa airlines again. Hopefully after a few more phone calls we can eventually get reimbursed. :("

The person sitting next to me took my storage space under the seat but other than that was pretty good service and the food was not terrible.

Missed my connection due to poor weather disrupting AAs entire fleet. Rebooked my flights twice and was still unable to make it home. No offer of hotel compensation despite me being stranded overnight in Houston. Nothing really to do about it- just a bad couple of days to travel. I wish they were a little better at letting us know about delays in good time, as it would have made a difference to my planning.

Left 40 mins late; we were fine on our connection but many on our flight were not.

Cons: "The AC was off while we were waiting to takeoff so it never felt cool in the cabin for the hour(ish) long flight we had. I don’t know if it was the size of plane that made it so we couldn’t have that on while taxiing/waiting our turn to take off or what, but it was too hot and stuffy onboard in Texas on the tarmac. Our next flight from Dallas to Huntsville, AL had the AC on the entire time we were waiting our turn/taking off- the plane was newer and slightly bigger. Not sure what the deal was but it made the flight pretty miserable."

Cons: "I upgraded to 1st class for both flights but the plane seating was very dismal and hadn't been upgraded in either of these planes for a long time. After we boarded the plane we were told that no drink, snacks or food would be offered. The attendant shut off the lights as soon as we got in the air and kept it dark in the cabin until 10 minutes before we landed. She never came around to check on us once or ask if we needed anything. I was so thirsty when we landed. I have decided that I will either go back to United Airlines or check out the 1st class options at American Airlines better next time. This might not have been their fault, I'm not sure what it was, but the flight was late landing and we took off an hour late as well which really put me behind schedule."

I sipped wine and dined on pasta and watched the movie Father Figures with Owen Wilson and Ed Helms. The stewardess was polite and friendly. The food was enjoyable and the passengers were friendly. The bathroom as also immaculate, I was impressed."

The chicken and orzo dinner was absolutely revolting. The orzo was so over cooked that it just turned to mush and the chicken really didn't taste like it had ever seen a chicken. All this combined with the issues we had on our flight out show that United are scum and just see you as ££. Sorry I cant be more complementary than that, its just the truth."

At this point we were already missing a concert we were trying to make in Chicago. Another $150 gone. We were lucky enough to make the 8:30 pm Dallas to Chicago with American and arrived at Ohare by 11:00 pm. All in all United wasted $300 on a rental car, $150 of concert tickets and 5 hours of paid time off I can't get back. Very disappointed. PS: they gave us food vouchers at the airport to apologize and they were already expired. They couldn't do one thing right."
