The vietnam airlines app was not able to allow checkin with the confirmation nor with the ticket number. This led to quite a bit of consternation. Speaking with a colleague from Hanoi, he did tell me that their app is not the best. It may be best to inform travelers to only use the link and to plan on checking in at the airport for this airline. The check-in was very easy and the staff were excellent.
The aircraft was little tired but the food and service was outstanding

Poor. Flight was delay without prior notice. Poor boarding. Poor meal service. Plane was dirty and smelly. Does not worth the money.
The check-in process was great, and I cannot remember the name of the supervisor, but he was good and told us about the transit process very correctly and efficiently and kindly. We were given down access and the overall process was very efficient.
Ensure there is a choice of food for all customers and also enough food
No space in between the seats as per them the average height of human is 5’3” and weight as 55, so seats are designed as per the same. Also, the aircraft was dirty and full of insects
Technical problems checking in. Had to wait a long time while they got things ready.
The flight was delayed and changed of boarding gates without notifying the passengers; no updates on electronic boards. Everyone had to wait for a very long time and tired. No food was served even though our ticket covered a dinner set. I got to my hotel after midnight. Terrible experience with this flight
The legroom in economy on an A321 is wholly inadequate for a 6’3” man. Deeply dissatisfied.
Well- trained, cheerful onboard staff. Business class seating and storage were excellent. Outstanding range of food choices, though quality ranged from just OK (seasonal rice and beef dish) to outstanding ( congee and soup noodles with beef brisket). But what can you expect; it's on a plane. I couldn't figure out the remote control, but touch screen worked well. My wife and I (in our 60s), didnt find much to watch from the Entertainment choices. We mostly watched the flight maps. The bedding did the job but is unwieldy and ends up in a clump, with one-third falling on the floor.
Close to excellent. The only problem is when I try to charge my phone on the USB in front of my seat, the battery level is decreasing rather than increasing. Why?

Overall pretty good experience. It would be nice to have caught the attendants even they were flying down the aisle with snacks, and if they could cater to multiple dietary restrictions (bland and no lactose. The customer service chat is a bad experience), but otherwise no complaints.
The only problem I had was not being able to download my boarding passes prior to arriving at the airport. Everything else was perfect.

Cathay was not the problem. The problem was the customer service from Kayak/Underprice. Will never book through Kayak again.
The first economy rows have remote space in the seat which eats in the seating space. The seats are also smaller compared to other airlines.
The crew were fine. I didn’t enjoy the food at all. I found it unappetising and really had trouble eating it. The comfort level was fine and our return flight is with Cathay Pacific but honestly I probably wouldn’t fly Cathay Pacific again.
