POOR HYGIENE: I was seated next to the toilets. Some people used the toilet before takeoff. I saw that all the hand towels fell INTO the toilet bowl after takeoff. I changed seats, but when I went to that same toilet, someone (a flight attendant, I assume), put all the damp hand towels back and people were using them after washing their hands! UGH.
BAD FOOD: Also, food was awful. All they had was junk food for purchase.
Boarding was easy. clean plane, crew was very friendly. I was very concerned though, when we banked left and did a complete circle in the air. An explanation from the captain would have been terrific. I made sure I was the last one to leave the plane and asked him about it when I saw him at the exit. He told me what happened but I would have liked to know while it was happening. Besides that, the coke and pretzels were divine. :)
I was vary unhappy about our flights being move around and also delayed with no one to communicate these changes in English. We did get a voucher for food but since the flights where delayed with little time in between we did not have time to use it. Also our bags not making it with us ended up being an inconvenience but thankful that you had them shipped to us. This was the worst experience flying ever.
The service was great, the airplane was really comfortable and the selection of drinks made this a great on-board experience. The flight was on time which is really important when you have a connection.
When we arrived in Pan amazing there was no gate available, it took like 30 minutes to get a bus to pick up us from the ramp to take us to the terminal. The airline seemed a bit disorganized in this case. Knowing that everyone was taking a connection flight the airline should have been prepared.
Missleading information from COPA personnel at JFK Airport about to claim the luggage in Bogota or Cali.
Secondly the last connection Bogota-Cali was not booked either by Copa or Kayak with Avianca Airlines, so after showing paper work and fighting with Copa we got 4 hour late flight. We were not the only ones, there were about 12 people with the same situation.
The food on the flight was great. It's also nice to be able to recline the chairs so far.
The flight was packed full. Even though the chairs recline very far, that means you lose a lot of leg space when the person in front of you reclines. And there is also not very much leg room to begin with. The chairs are outdated (not nice fabric). Also, when the person ahead of you reclines their chair, you have to be very forceful in order to stow your tray table - it's actually a total design flaw. We got very mean looks from the women in front of us because we had to shake their chair so much in order to put away our tray tables. The air conditioning barely came out of the vent above my head, and the vent above my boyfriend's head was smashed completely so there was no air coming out of his at all. The flight was hot, and he was actually sweating.
Plane was not overbooked.
Plane left/arrived reasonably on time.
If you want to witness the ugliness of humanity, swap the plane at the last minute, announce free seating and watch the stampede.
Got a dirty look from a fellow passenger as I sat on the other end of a 3-seat row she had hoped to use as her bed.
You truly get what you pay for and less these days, I originally booked the flight on Air Transat after a bad experience on Rouge, hoping to avoid the Walmart experience and the Walmart customer. No difference here.
Soda stained sticky seats, I won't go over what passes for food, I actually got sick from it on a previous flight.
My advice, spend $50.00 more and get ready to be amazed by the difference it will buy you. Truly shameful of the airline industry considering the huge profits they are raking with the current low oil prices.
Funny how they have used the price of oil to increase their fares but surprise, they don't go down when the oil price does.
I won't be surprised if this review either does not get published or if it does, will be followed by a stellar shill review.
You asked me, I gave you a honest answer. Cheers,
Everybody in the crew were nice and honestly friendly to customers and obviously respected each other . I've been in planes before were you can see the hierarchy of the flight attendants and it make a feeling of discomfort for everybody.
I can't believe they serve sandwiches and package pretzels and cookies for an 8 hour flight! Its the menu "wanna be bistro" that might be fine on a 1-2 hours flight but not when you cross the atlantic. On 7 choices there was 2 choices available when they arrive at me.... I took several airlines from across the globe an nobody ever served me a thick tomato and cheese pizza square in plastic. I wish they would have just gave me an apple! Air transat, you should hired a dietitian to redo your menu because there is something wrong when you think the healthy thing you give to your customers are the chocolate cookies "preventia " .
The crew was excellent. Very attentive and witty. One flight attendant in particular went out of her way to take my 4 year for a walk to get snacks to give her something else to do. We also boarded the plane first as we had young kids which gave us ample time to settle our carry-on luggage and the kids before the rush of other travelers.
Not enough legroom in coach for families dealing with young kids where these kids invariably want to be in your lap and then ppl in front of you want to recline.....it is just uncomfortable. The other thing is that my trip to Barbados did not have the in seat TV and try as I might to download the plug in to my Surface so that I could watch from their Westjet connect it would not work so that made it difficult to help with passing the time with my kids. I am also a strong advocate for a decent meal on any flight more than 3 hours. I should not have to purchase meals after spending all that money on a plane ticket.
We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.
