Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The pilots and the team did a good job."
Cons: "They changed my seat i paid For last minute and sat me in a small seat when i paid For extra leg room."
Cons: "For the longer leg of my trip, there was no entertainment. No screens at all! No food besides some dry pretzels on a 5 hour flight and the crew was borderline surly. They were running into people with the drink cart, bumping any edge of arm or leg that was in the aisle, not smiling, not pleasant at all."
Cons: "Great flight"
Cons: "board families with infants and children first"
Pros: "Crew good. Seat cramped"
Pros: "Crew!"
Pros: "The friendly service from everyone including desk, wheelchair service, and flight crew"
Cons: "Not much at all. Everyone took very good care of me."
Pros: "Flight was relatively smooth and arrived more than thirty minutes early."
Cons: "Flight attendants did the basics without showing any enthusiasm for their job or appreciation for the passengers in business class. Food service in business class was uninspiring as there was no element of "international cuisine" on a flight where some dining creativity would have been welcome."
Pros: "Crew was fantastic but seats lack padding which agrivated my tailbone."
Cons: "A second beverage service would have nice."
Pros: "Nothing. Door closed in my face departure board never showed it was boarding and I ran from my other delayed flight to try and catch the Wilmington flight"
Cons: "American needs to step up their device and the airlines should be punished for their lack of service If an airline vises a non weather delay there should be immediate compensation for passengers. No different than what retailers do to their suppliers when supplier is late delivering merchandis"
Cons: "Old plane. No seatback entertainment available in plane."
Pros: "Military boards with first class."
Cons: "It was very warm on plane. Sat on tarmac for 30 min with no explanation. Flight attendant said she didn’t have any head phones but the. I saw another one with head phones later in the flight."
Cons: "I love it"
Cons: "No in flight service"
Cons: "WiFi was not working on the aircraft."
Pros: "Because the flight wasn't full we passengers in the main cabin had the chance to spread out a bit more, which was great on such a long flight. Also the flight attendant let me have my scotch for free! Hooray!"
Cons: "Without power at each seat it's difficult to take advantage of the otherwise free entertainment that is only accessible through the app or on a laptop. There was a DC power outlet at my seat (not all of the seats in the main cabin even have that) but guess what--it required a cigarette-lighter-style adapter to plug in. I certainly don't travel around with one of those! And most of the other seats in the main cabin had no access to power at all. My battery wouldn't possibly last through a 7-hour-plus flight without supplementary power. Oh well, fortunately there are still books and magazines. Just like old times. Be more like United or any other international airline, American!"
Pros: "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!"
Cons: "At 12:40 p.m. we boarded American Airlines flight 1350 in ATL, just to SIT on plane for 1 1/2 hours (half the time with NO AIR). Computer problems. Had to get off plane, then had to wait in 3 lines. Agents were so UNPROFESSIONAL! Kept saying flight would go... DID NOT go until another plane came in at 9:00 PM! We, needless to say missed our connecting flight to SYDNEY and had to wait til next day and fly to SAN FRANCISCO, then to MELBOURNE, then on to Christchurch. We MISSED out on TWO DAYS of our short trip! which included missed reservations!!"
Cons: "Delayed 2 hours"
Pros: "I love it"
Pros: "The direct flight was great and made up for the rescheduled flight time in Memphis."
Cons: "Original Flight did not depart on time."
Pros: "Great flight overall"
Cons: "We were told that we get one checked bag free, but at check-in were told we had to pay. So much for low prices!"
Pros: "Boarding was efficient and fast"
Cons: "Nothing in particular"
Cons: "Very cold cabin despite request to make it warmer, making it impossible to sleep. Food was cheap, carb-heavy fare - rice, crackers, a roll, sugar dessert bisquets all in one meal."
Cons: "No legroom at all & PA announcements were twice the volume of other media on entertainment system."
Pros: "The entertaining, the aircraft"
Cons: "The food"
Cons: "The flight was delayed 3 times. Little knowledge from front desk, relied on my phone for updated info."
Pros: "Informed in cell phone about flight delays."
Cons: "Delayed flight. I was informed of the three-timed delays. Eventually, the flight met the 2nd one."
Cons: "Obnoxious amount of confusion at gate. Employees continuously announced and posted conflicting departure times. Was shocked by lack of assistance in finding new flights, alternative methods of transportation to destination, etc. Eventually rescheduled for red-eye flight the following day (over 24 hours later). Found alternate transportation. Don't feel like I could trust AMERICAN with my travel plans again."
Cons: "3 hours delay, NOT entertainment at all, this is ridiculous! The dinner was regular, but breakfast was terrible."
Cons: "the payment didn't work but I got no notification. When I got to the airport I couldn't check in. It took a lot of time with more fee to figured it out. A terrible experience"
Cons: "Flight from Gulfport was delayed 3 hours and carry on bags with wheels were not allowed on the plane even though there met the size requirements for a carry on. I was allowed to bring it on the incoming flight, which was the same kind of plane. Not a pleasant experience and will definitely avoid American Airlines in the future."
Pros: "Customer Service, movies & comfortable seats"
Pros: "Service"
Cons: "Just little delay."
Pros: "We didn’t crash"
Cons: "Pushed out of my seat by huge man next to me who ate smelly crisps and farted most of the trip"
Pros: "On time"
Pros: "I liked the easy boarding and exiting process. I liked the crew, they are all trained very well and seem to enjoy their jobs."
Cons: "A lot of the planes have not been updated and have poor comfort and entertainment. This is unfortunate, due to the price that we are paying for this travel."
Pros: "Food was good as were the movies & seat"
Cons: "Gate supervisor (male) in Dublin was unhelpful. He announced theee times that the US Customes pre-clearance would close shortly. This announcement was in the gate area where everyone had already had to have cleared the Preclearance US Customs. Then when he announced boarding for priority and Business class he "pointedly" told the zones 1 thru 4 to all begin boarding at once (w/ one agent while three agents stood behind chatting) and to only use the one Priority lane. Thirty people all gathered for the very slow process. The Gate Supervisor the says he would start boarding Zones 5 and 6 in the other lane. Zones 5 & 6 all boarded while I (zone 1 passenger) and five others were still in que boarding thru the priority lane. Poor leadership. The Business Class flight attendant while serving snack, spilled my hot tea on my shirt, trousers and iPad. She was very apologetic and said that she wished she had not filled the cup so full. The tea "happens" and was no big deal. The Gate agent on the microphone in Dublin was having a bad morning and transferred his unhappyness to me, which I did not bargain for on the 27th."
Pros: "Good flight attendant. Flight landed earlier than anticipated."
Cons: "They nearly took my carry on with the other checked bags when leaving the flight. It clearly had a carry on tag. Unforced error!"
Pros: "Said it all above"
Cons: "Said it all above"
Pros: "Boarding in London was smooth, we arrived early. New plane, good seats for extra $$."
Cons: "Food could be better, even on an international flight. Crew was friendly and efficient."
Cons: "Because our first flight was delayed so much, we missed our connecting flight and our rebooked connecting flight (made while on the phone while waiting for several hours on the tarmac) and didn't make it to our final destination until the morning of 6/23 (first flight was 6/21 and was supposed to arrive morning of 6/22). Spent the night in JFK."
Pros: "The crew remained calm amidst the 2nd attempt to board after delays in landing gear tire changing."
Cons: "Cramped. Had to pay for wireless on plane."
Pros: "Wifi available. Big plus!"
Pros: "I flew Tokyo to Vegas and the entertainment was great."
Cons: "They cancelled my flight vis lax and put me on a flight vis Dallas. That added about 7 hours to my journey. Then they sit on the tarmac for 50 minutes doing nothing on both of the two flights."
Cons: "The entertainment system failed, pilot tried to fix it, but he can't."
Pros: "We missed the original flight on American Airline because of security check tie-up. Fortunately American Airline helped us board Bristish Airway 3 hours later flight."
Cons: "British Airway flight 269 on 3/24/17 was lousy and toilets were filthy. I fell asleep and missed the meal. When I pushed the help button, nobody came for 10 minutes until I grabbed a steward passing by. Then I used the nearby toilet once, the floor was wet and the toilet papers were almost totally out. I was so disappointed by the experience that I will not recommend BA to any friends."
Cons: "It was a full flight, anyone in loading zones 7-9 were required to check their carry-on luggage. We were in loading zone 6, so not required and preferred not to due to our full day of air travel that would continue into a 3 hour car trip. My husband reached the gate, his ticket scanned, and let onto the plane. I walk up next, my ticket is scanned and then the personnel at the gate said in what I can only describe as the most disrespectful, inconsiderate, ill-tempered tone that he would need take my bag. He grabbed it out of my possession, shoved it into the luggage sizing rack and even though it did fit inside the lines, he said it was "too close" and would need to be checked. Not wanting to cause a scene and quite frankly speechless by this man's attitude, I did not object.. It was not until I was seated on the plane that I noticed more than a dozen items of luggage larger than mine and that the vast majority of people that had 3, 4, 5 carry on items when the maximum is 2: one personal item and one carry on luggage item. It was both the lack of respect and the lack of consistency that lead me to have an extremely "poor" boarding experience. Serious retraining needs to be completed and boarding attendants should not be able to harass airline passengers."
Pros: "Comfort"
Cons: "Nothing at all"
Pros: "Muy buen servicio"
