The female manager, Latoya, at the desk was overly rude and completely out of line the way she was speaking to guests. Apparently American Airlines requests 90 minutes before departure to check you in, however their website does say they will try to accomadate customers that have arrived late. This employee refused 24 people access to the flight that we had booked and paid for. She related that she could put everyone on standby for the next and final flight out of Saint Thomas and standby for multiple connecting flights from Miami to many different parts of the country. This is because American Airlines over books their flights on purpose and has no problem leaving people stranded at an airport. Another employee related that it was easily accomplished to confirm is for the flight as we would have plenty of time prior to boarding since the aircraft had yet to arrive from its original location. American Airlines would not speak to any of the paid customers and would not look into other flights to see if there were other options to get customers home. When we boarded the plane there were still 4 customers that American Airlines stranded at the airport with no more flights out of the airport that day. This was an absolute disgrace and it was disgusting to see how the American Airlines staff were treating people. Their companies customer service has nothing to say other then sorry. I will never fly American Airlines again and now know why so many other people also feel this way."

We finally got to the baggage counter 4 minutes after the 45 min cutoff and were told that they could not put us on the plane. The cause? SIX check in attendances failed to show up to work in retaliation for Frontier's recent outsourcing of jobs and the fact that their "Discount Den" specials, which have flights out of Denver on Sundays as low as $3.50 were taxing the staff, so they essentially boycotted. All flights back to MCI out of ALL airlines were full so we and our small children had to rent an expensive suburban and drive all night to get to work on Monday after a 12 day vacation. Absolutely the WORST travel experience we have ever had."

There was a problem in my barcode so I asked how I could solve the problem. When I first went there, she said "no" and she started to ignore me by not answering. I almost missed the flight. And when I went there twice, the woman hided under the counter after seeing me. I was shocked. The worker at Frontier was never professional and acted like a child. The service was terrible. I would feel okay if she could try to help me not to miss the flight. Instead, she had no willing to help me, and sneered me. I missed the flight so I had to buy a new flight ticket. I'll NEVER use Frontier anymore, and I'll recommend to people not to take Frontier. Workers' service is the representative of the company, and she was terrible."

I like when airlines give you one free carry-on and one personal item so you can have you purse or laptop bag or whatever separate from your luggage. I also didn't like how you had to pay for refreshments. It is always nice to have to option of 1 free beverage and maybe some pretzels when you're flying. Also, the seats are pretty uncomfortable, but that is not really something that can be fixed."

This was a lot cheaper than other airlines (even paying for seats and luggage) and was a direct flight (whereas the other airlines all had layovers) so I can't complain. I always take this piece of luggage when I want to carry on otherwise I take a much bigger suitcase. This particular piece of luggage did not fit in the luggage rack because the wheels on the suitcase were preventing it from doing so. This is a rip off and taking advantage of customers who intentionally use a particular piece of luggage because they know it will be accepted as carry on. Cons: "The flight from St. Thomas to Ft. Lauderdale was delayed by 4 hours. The St. Thomas desk crew tried their best, but clearly had no training in this sort of thing - they were in complete disarray. Because our connecting flights would be missed, they promised us food and hotel vouchers for Ft. Lauderdale - then these never materialized. Then they promised we could pick them up right when we got off the plane in Ft. Lauderdale. When we arrived, staff just shrugged and told us to go to the ticket counter and see what we could get. There we were told to wait in a line that took over an hour to get through; we rebelled and insisted on getting the vouchers immediately. It still took half an hour, we finally got them at midnight. The folks who waited in line never did get hotel vouchers - the airline had 'run out of them' - meaning they had run out of vouchers at the preferential rate they'd negotiated, and were unwilling to pay extra for these beleagured passengers. So those passengers stayed in the airport all night, furious over empty promises and terrible customer service."

Flight then cancelled. Ok so then we get to stay free at hotel to catch flight next day. Howard Johnsons was so dirty. Bathroom & beds. We slept in our clothes did not dare to shower. Slept with our coats over our pillows. Bad start to trip.... we were told our trip was extended 1 day because we lost a day. When we got to the airport on our new day to leave we were told we were NO SHOWS to the flight the previous day which was supposed to be changed for us. Thank heaven there was room on the flight and they quietly put us on it. We never made any kind of scene or had any harsh words with anyone.... but, DONE WITH SPIRIT AIRLINES!!!!"

We finally boarded the plane and sat on it for 20 minutes or so, then were told the pilots left the plane and there was no backup crew. They only offered either refunds or the same flight the following day. I had prepaid car and hotel reservations as well as critical things to do the next day. They offered no compensation, not even bonus miles, vouchers, or meal tickets and showed a real lack of concern for their customers. This cost a lot in terms of wasted time, extra expense, and lost opportuniy. I will never fly this airline again. I had to rebook another airline at a much higher rate as well. Terrible experience, wasted time and money. I did not feel valued as a customer."
Cons: "My connecting flight was delayed due to maintenance problems with the plane. They made us board another plane just to tell us to de-board because the pilot traveled his max miles already. After that the flight was cancelled with the earliest flight being the next night. Everyone was very unhappy as we all had somewhere we had to be. Customer service did do refunds and rebooking but it was just an overall terrible experience. If you're looking for reliability, spirit is not the way to go. I'm never booking with spirit again."

Furthermore, after one of my flights was cancelled due to weather, I was informed that the soonest Spirit could fly me out would be 3 days later. Understandably, Spirit is a small airline, so I'm sure this was not uncommon. When I asked to be transferred to another airline to leave sooner, I was told that Spirit was not responsible for getting me to my destination any faster. A woman at the 'help desk' then took a leisurely 45 minutes (while my flight was boarding) telling me that buying any other flight would cost me between $2,000-$3,000. Spirit airlines is treating their customers like credit cards to be swiped. The self-centered money-hungry culture throughout Spirit will surely be their downfall if swift action is not taken immediately."

Pros: "Horrible customer service. I wasn't allowed to board because bag was 3 inches to tall. Spend the extra money for another airline and do yourself a favor please."

Cons: "There are multiple small and a couple of big issues with Spirit Airlines. The small issues include: Small cramped seating without ability to recline. Charge extra for EVERYTHING including a cup of water or soda. Those issues aren't a big deal but a couple of issues came up which makes this airline a bottom dweller in the US market. Top issue is the charging extra for baggage which ends up being a $80-200 hidden fee. The standard for airlines in North America is that 1 carry on bag and 1 personal item is included in the ticket price. Spirit should either not be allowed to advertise on Kayak or have a side note stating that they will be charging this hidden fee and the advertised price is not accurate for the majority of travellers. They are preying on customers not noticing this and being hit with $200 round trip charge at the gate. Another big issue with my trip is they overbooked the flight and assigned multiple people to the same seats. Was dumfounded that this could happen and made me slightly worried about my safety."

Cons: "After sitting on the plane for an hour, pilot advised that there was a fuel leak and the part would be available three or four hours later. After deplaning, we were told the flight was canceled and to go back to ticketing. 180 passengers then went to ticketing, where no one talked to us, for another hour. Finally the ticket agents told us there were no flights until the next day. I was 7th in line at ticketing, and after 2 hours in line, I finally got a ticket to KC for four days later."

Cons: "Leg space was not the same throughout the plane in economy section. Airline charges for EVERYTHING! Luggage acceptable weight is 10lbs less than any major airline."
Cons: "Flight was late and almost missed connection. Flight attendants didn't tell passengers to let anyone who had to make a connection through."
