Pros: "The flight was nearly full, but I lucked out. One person in my row did not show up, so myself and the other lady in my row had the benefit of having an open seat in between us. The crew was cheerful and accommodating. They did the normal beverage service, but also brought complimentary water and coffee 3x during the rest of the flight. This was greatly appreciated, especially after 5 days of drinking and partying. My buddies and I spent two and a half days in Las Vegas for a bachelor party followed by two days in the LA area for a wedding (yes we did it Hangover style) :) Thank you Delta!"

Captain kindly referred us to look up this information on our individual screens. Mine was not working, neither was the screen of the passengers next to me. Not helpful at all."

They said they'll get right to it, handed me my tickets and sent me on my way. It never happened. Not a big deal, I can request the mileage post flight, but still something. Look at my tickets, that I had booked a week in advance and specifically reserved an aisle seat. My ticket says "Priority Verification," whatever that means. Turns out it means you don't have a seat, and you get the worst of the worst. So what seat is the worst? How about the middle seat in a row of 5. The middle in a row of 5, on a transoceanic flight... What kind of airlines has 5 in a row? The guy next to me spent $300 for his ticket, I spent $1200, for the same flight, and this is the kind of seat I get? The plane felt like it was straight out of the 90's, carpeted center walls, old seats, tiny tv's. Overall, a plane that felt had not been updated in decades. Took 20 minutes for a flight attendant to respond to the flight attendant sign. This wasn't during beverage or food service, just a normal time at cruising altitude. They also don't have eye masks. Every other transoceanic flight I've been on has them provided in the seat pocket, American Airlines doesn't even have them on the plane! Economy class has no USB or power outlets, the in flight entertainment is about a 5" screen in probably 260p resolution. Decent selection of movies, but you have to join the movie in progress or wait approx 10 minutes for the next movie to start. Legroom was okay unless you had one of the entertainment boxes in your way, then that takes up 30% of your space. Some of the tray tables do not have cup holders, on the top, bottom, or anywhere on it. Also my table was tilted, so every time I put a cup on it, it slid right off. Seems like a minor complaint, but eating dinner and fighting a sliding cup the whole time is a pain. Dinner and breakfast tasted decent, but you can tell American is cheap on the food. Most airlines will give something like a main course, a bread roll, fruit cup/salad, juice, small dessert. American gives you the main course and a fruit cup and that is all. Crappy utensils too. Overall, if I had paid maybe $200 for the flight, I wouldn't have any room to complain, but because American holds the government carrier contract for FY17, I had to fly on them at exorbitant cost, and would never recommend them to anyone."

Cons: "This flight was actually on an American 777. One of the older models. For an almost 9+ hour flight, the in-seat entertainment systems need to be upgraded. The seats did not have USB charging capabilities, the selection of movies at the seat consisted of about 8 choices, and the screen size wasn't much larger than that of an iPhone 6 Plus. This was supposed to be a British Airlines flight, but it really was an American flight. I expected to be on a BA aircraft, which would have probably been upgraded."

Cons: "The airplane was outdated. It did not have personal entertainment suites at each seat. I haven't flown across the ocean without being able to choose my own movie in 3 years. Also, because of the outdated entertainment suite, the headphone jack is located in the armrest to the side instead of in the seat back in front of you. This caused me to bend my 3.5mm headphone connection at one point while I was moving my leg, because the connection jack is located below thigh level. The temperature was unbearable, and could not be controlled by the flight crew. Dressed for winter weather and roasted for the entire flight. I actually was dehydrated when we landed because I was sweating for 7 hours crossing the ocean."

We paid $738.00 total for both tickets to Dallas, and found it very hard to believe that we could not get seats that were next to each other. We have had this same situation on other airlines, and they were very accommodating to our needs."

It was a very nice flight home! And I'm thankful I didn't rent a car. Flying is much quicker!"

I could have flown through any other city en route to Raleigh, so it was frustrating that Frontier would not do anything for me until I got to Denver, because the risk was extremely high that I would miss the last flight out of Denver. Fortunately, Frontier decided to hold the connecting flight so that people on this flight could make their connection. HOWEVER, I landed a few hours later in CHARLOTTE, NC. Apparently Frontier had not checked my ticket when I boarded the wrong plane. My ticket clearly indicated that I was supposed to be on the flight to Raleigh. From Charlotte, there was an American Airlines flight that I could have transferred to--something that every other airline I've flown has done under these circumstances. But Frontier told me they don't put passengers on other airlines' flights, so I had to wait another couple of hours to catch Frontier's next flight to Raleigh. Throughout the whole process, it was very frustrating because for hours while I waited at LAX, I couldn't find a single Frontier employee. I even had to wait at ticketing when I arrived at the airport, not because of a line but because there was no one from Frontier at the counter. All of this suggests to me that Frontier just doesn't care. They don't care enough to be at the airport in case passengers have problems like this. They don't care enough to avoid missed connections by putting people on different flights. They don't care enough to make sure passengers are getting on the correct flights."

Cons: "Pretty much everything else. I checked in online - where they clearly state that there will be a bag drop for prepaid checked luggage. There was not. Instead there were three people behind the counter (only two were actually taking anyone from the long line) - who seemed completely confused. They at least knew that the gate had changed, but they didn't know where it had been changed to. I found it. It then proceeded to change 3 more times. The final change was not announced, we all just followed another passenger who had seen the change listed on the airport departure screen. The final gate was "39" a door in a hallway that opened up onto a tarmac. We waited there about 30 minutes (after the scheduled boarding time) before the door opened. They had no scanner for passes, so the attendant had to write things down on paper when we showed him our passes!! The actual cabin is tight, but that's to be expected. What wasn't expected was the random turning off and on of overhead lights throughout the (red-eye) flight. It was like a torture technique. To round out this great experience, the flight attendant instructed us to de-board the plane in order. Row 1 (left side) then row 1 (right), etc. This clearly pissed off many passengers who had no carry-on luggage and could have just walked off while those with stuff in overheads waited. When I finally got to exit the plane, I heard a guy somewhere behind me say "f-you" to the crew as they gave us the traditional "have a good day". We all felt the same, just didn't say so."

They replaced their humane, padded chairs with these ultra slim hard plastic ones that don't recline so you're stuck sitting at a 90 degree angle with basically no padding so they can fit more seats on the plane with tiny tray tables. I'd like to see the CEO spend a couple of hours in one these. I'll never fly Frontier again because they've completely lost touch with the concept of treating customers with dignity."

A 12-pack of coke is, like, $4 at most. Just charge me an extra $.33 on the front end so I don't have to have some awkward back and fourth with the stewardess. "Do you want something to drink?" "Sure, I'll have a coke." "We have to charge you for that." "Well, never mind. Obviously." Am I so entitled that I've come to expect a free drink with my flight? No, not if every other airline does the same thing. I expect a complementary drink on a flight for the same reason that I expect a free refill at every restaurant in America. I've learned to not expect free refills in Europe, but it's still annoying. Similarly, I'll learn not to expect free drinks on Frontier, but it's still annoying. At least I got a free napkin out of it."

Terrible customer service and no one seemed to care that I was stuck in la with no way home. Ironically enough- the next flight out with frontier was nearly on time and delivered passengers back to Denver only a couple of hours after me."

I waited at the airport for until 1:30am before I got a confirmation that the back was in fact at Newark still. I had a nursing convention to go to and I had no clothing. So I had to Uber to Walmart than Uber back to my hotel. So I didn’t get any sleep. I didn’t check into my hotel til 4am due to a negligent spirit employee. I paid for the checked bag and there was plenty of space in the over head compartment. She caused me unnecessary stress and an embarrassing morning with my administrators due to my lack of sleep."

Also, the seats are pretty uncomfortable, but that is not really something that can be fixed."

This was a lot cheaper than other airlines (even paying for seats and luggage) and was a direct flight (whereas the other airlines all had layovers) so I can't complain. Slept with our coats over our pillows. Bad start to trip.... we were told our trip was extended 1 day because we lost a day. When we got to the airport on our new day to leave we were told we were NO SHOWS to the flight the previous day which was supposed to be changed for us. Thank heaven there was room on the flight and they quietly put us on it. We never made any kind of scene or had any harsh words with anyone.... but, DONE WITH SPIRIT AIRLINES!!!!"

We finally boarded the plane and sat on it for 20 minutes or so, then were told the pilots left the plane and there was no backup crew. They offered no compensation, not even bonus miles, vouchers, or meal tickets and showed a real lack of concern for their customers. This cost a lot in terms of wasted time, extra expense, and lost opportuniy. I will never fly this airline again. I had to rebook another airline at a much higher rate as well. Terrible experience, wasted time and money. I did not feel valued as a customer."

After that the flight was cancelled with the earliest flight being the next night. Everyone was very unhappy as we all had somewhere we had to be. Customer service did do refunds and rebooking but it was just an overall terrible experience. If you're looking for reliability, spirit is not the way to go. I'm never booking with spirit again."

Furthermore, after one of my flights was cancelled due to weather, I was informed that the soonest Spirit could fly me out would be 3 days later. Understandably, Spirit is a small airline, so I'm sure this was not uncommon. When I asked to be transferred to another airline to leave sooner, I was told that Spirit was not responsible for getting me to my destination any faster. A woman at the 'help desk' then took a leisurely 45 minutes (while my flight was boarding) telling me that buying any other flight would cost me between $2,000-$3,000. Spirit airlines is treating their customers like credit cards to be swiped. The self-centered money-hungry culture throughout Spirit will surely be their downfall if swift action is not taken immediately."
