Cons: "Originally, I was scheduled to take a JAL flight from NRT to DFW, but for some reason, American Airlines switched the service to their own aircraft and crew. If I would have known that beforehand, I would not have purchased my ticket through AA.com. During my original online booking, the screen said JAL service from NRT to DFW. Just about everything was bad about my American Airlines flight. I travel to and from America several times a year from Asia. Each time I travel, I swear I will never fly an American based airline for the trans-Pacific portion of my flight. My latest experience with American Airlines only reinforces that resolution. The in-cabin crew is (and I'm being nice) pathetic! They are veteran flight attendants and they look and act like they could care less about the customers on the flight. Frankly, I'm just downright disgusted with the service and personalities of the American crew's attitude. They act like they are old and tired, uninterested in quality service, and that we (the passengers) are an imposition upon their life. For example, mid-flight, I walk to the back of the airplane for something to drink, instead of assisting me they point to a "station" at the Emergency Exit door stocked with random drinks and snacks. While they are chit-chatting, looking at their smartphones and reading newspapers, books, and Kindle-type devices. That has never happened on an Asian-based airline flight. Another example, in-flight food service, the cabin crew members are waking people up to serve food and, instead of being gentle and cordial, they are rude and impatient. My 2 row mates were both Asian, and because of being awakened and the ambient noise in the aircraft, they could not hear what the flight attendant was asking. So, with a tone of impatience and disrespect, the flight attendant virtually shouted at them their choices for the meal. Whatever happened to the "customer is always right" or the "customer is king"? My renewed resolution: I will no longer fly American-based (because Delta is even worse) airlines to and from Asia. If needed, I will pay the higher fees and fares to fly anyone of a number of Asian-based carriers. It is worth it for the 24 hours it takes me to cross the Pacific. I am sick and tired of the begrudged and entitled attitude of the archaic cabin crews of American-based airlines."

I provided documentation of the situation and requested a refund. I received $106 on a $715 ticket. There was no explanation of how they determined the refund, but I'm not happy."

By the time I finally got to board, all overhead space was taken, so I had to gate check my bag. And then someone had taken the seat I was given, so I had to ask him to move, and he started crying (child). He cried for 20 minutes, so that was fun. Also, this was a red eye - I really wanted to sleep, but right as I was dozing off, the flight attendants turned on the lights for drink service. Overall, just a really poor experience and very hard to sleep."

I begged not to have to check because I was flying to Nicaragua and was worried my only bag would get lost. I was right -- it did not arrive in Nicaragua until the next day. We sat on runway for 45 minutes before departure so United could fix BOTH sets of the plane's wings lights. Why did they not discover that at any time BEFORE we all boarded or while we were boarding -- NOT first when deciding to pull away from gate. Delay caused many to miss connections."

Pros: "I was kept in line until it was too late to allow me to get a boarding pass. The 3 groups of travelers before me took an unusually long time as they could not understand why they were not allowed to get boarding passes. The CS Manager did direct me to an airline that I was able to buy full price ticket from."
Cons: "The same excuse was given to every traveler that was in the line with me. I listened to it explained to at least 10 travelers that day. Since that time, I have yet to hear any positive feedback from anyone that travels frequently. You seem to pray on people that do not travel often. The ticket that was purchased for this fight was bought by my wife. She was trying to do me a favor. Maybe some that actually cares about your reputation and would like to see your airlines succeed over time will contact me in an attempt to change my opinion. I can be contacted at john.w@ug-fl.com"

Cons: "If you any sense, you'll never fly on this airline. I have had 4 or 4 flights end up being the worst flights ever. It is worth the extra money to fly on another airline."

Cons: "I didn't like that the seats were so thin and they didn't reclin at all, I barely even had space to move and get comfortable. The tickets were cheap but they made up for the cheap price with baggage prices, they charges for every bag even the carry-ons."

Pros: "Ease of boarding. Departure and arrival on time. Friendly attendants."
Cons: "Really small under the seat space and uncomfortable seats."

Cons: "It was ridiculous how I had to pay 55.00 for my carry on to my destination and BACK. Did NOT expect that. So 110.00 total. Felt like I had to buy my carry one it's own personal ticket to fly with me as if it was another person that u had to put in a little storage over my head."

Cons: "Actually the allowance for baggage is too much. I am living in KSA from about 20 years. I have visited many countries in Europe. Including Middle East and Asia. I have never given such a huge amount for baggage. It makes very senseless to charge for baggages because if your are providing us the service for transportation, than baggages is must with anyone travelling, obviously. In other words, because its a must for anyone travelling, you are simply taking advantage. Anyhow the over all service was quite impressive and its been one of my best lifetime travel. Hope to travel again from your airline and see any changes in the baggageing allowances. Thankyou soo much. Have a nice day."

Pros: "Flight was on time. Boarded fairly quickly and was smooth. The staff was fine and friendly."

Cons: "Everything. It was NOT cheaper than other airlines at all! Having to pay for each individual thing is ridiculous. While boarding the employee was not audible and I could not get a space for by bag (WHICH I PAID FOR) above my seat because people had put their "personal" items there. The crew was not pleasant and looked like a mess and when we landed one looked like she just woke up herself. I will never recommend this airline is horrible. I never leave bad reviews, this is my first."

Pros: "The steward's patter at the beginning of the flight was exceptionally well delivered."

Cons: "Charging on a bag 52~55 $ was terrible, even if it is your policy. I will not use your flight. It is because I thought that your flight is cheaper than other companies, but it was not cheaper actually. So I feel that I was deceived. And the counter employees (in LAX) seemed that they laughed on my poor English. employee"

Pros: "I was charged by Spirit $100 per carry on, there was no obvious note or warning for the charge when I checked in on line. I felt that I had been robbed $400 By spirit. The the service at the Oakland airport was terrible, the people working at the Spirit gate had very bad attitude, one of them was called Lavinia, worker ID 34448, and her coworker was horrible too, unfortunately I didn't get her name. I will not book spirit anymore."
Cons: "Nothing I liked about Spirit, it is the worst airline."

Pros: "Inexpensive ticket prices due to getting rid of many services that I don't use or care for."
Cons: "No reading material related to Spirit airlines. There should be something like a small magazine in the seat back promoting your business for customers to read."

Pros: "We had to pay an additional $150 for carry on luggage. (I was never told this when I bought the tickets) No snacks or drinks were given on a trip literally across the United States. Terrible service and super cramped seating. Never flying spirit air again. Ever."

Cons: "I was charged $10 twice for my bag and $10 for my seat, going and coming, since it wasn't a non stop. What a rip off. I had to get off the plane and get back on the plane and sit in the same seat and be charged another $10. NOT A GOOD way to treat customers if you want them to return."

Pros: "The crew and boarding was fine, the plane was clean and looked in good condition."
Cons: "The seats were cramped! the seat in front of me was literally 12 inches from my face. You are packed in like sardines, can't move, very uncomfortable. When I put my tray down it hit my stomach. Don't expect food or drink, it all cost money. The pilot was selling stuff too before landing kinda ridiculous. Baggage all cost money on top of the flight. It seems that they really try to nickel and dime you."

Pros: "I like how the crew made the pre-take off checklist very interesting and funny!"

Pros: "Do yourself a favor and never fly Spirit Airlines unless you have a lot of time, no bags, extremely patient (like Jesus patient) and you're never hungry. I'm basically describing a corpse because that's what it would take to enjoy flying Spirit."
Cons: "The plane was delayed 6 hours (something about their system having issues and pilots being overbooked). We weren't given an explanation till after we finally got on the plane. We were offered a free soda or water as compensation. Horrible!"

Pros: "The price of the ticket"
Cons: "My luggage was sent on another airline and another city. When I initially asked the desk attendent in Houston for help, she literally said "No". Spirit overall has poor customer service but this shocked me. Although Olivia who worked that same evening was amazing. I've been flying for 25 years and had never had an issue with any of the dozens of airlines I've been on even more budget airlines than spirit. This is my second time flying Spirit and I will NEVER make the same mistake again."

Pros: "The girl that helped us with our suitcases at boarding time was nice and considerate. The airplane staff was pleasant and had a smile on their face. They were also very accommodating."

Pros: "Crew was alright but wanted to charge me for a cup of water to take my medications with."
Cons: "The rows are crammed too close together. There was not enough room for my legs while sitting down, as my knees were jammed into the seat in front of me."

Cons: "They will flout their own policies in order to fleece passengers for extra monies you thought you saved on the cheap air fares. You have been warned, if you have had a bad experience, please prevent others from having one by completing one of these surveys."

Pros: "Staff was professional and very friendly."

Cons: "Didn't know that I had to pay $55 for a carry on luggage. Total rip off!!! I couldn't recline my seat and I had to buy water to drink. With the lugfage fee, I could've used that extra cash to get a better flight. Never riding spirit again"

Cons: "Flight Cancellation that contributed to a loss in our business. The connecting flight from Houston to Tampa was cancelled without explanation. Other flights to the same region, like Ft. Lauderdale were not cancelled; We will never use this Airlines or recommend to any of our business associates. I rather pay a little more, than to loose a potential client. We had meetings scheduled for Tuesday night on November 17th, but the irresponsibility of Spirit ruined our business trip. You asked for my comments and here they are bluntly and truthful.
