Cons: "This Lufthansa flight was operated by United Airlines. Coach seating was uncomfortable after a couple hours despite moving around regularly."
Pros: "Lufthansa always great. Comfortable seats, good and safe service."
Pros: "The flight crew & the flight itself was great."
Cons: "The flight was delayed by 4 hours. Not only did I miss my connecting flight, but I also missed my rescheduled flight. I had to wait another 7 hours in the airport waiting for a flight. And due to this I missed an important meeting."
Cons: "Late, missed connection"
Pros: "Great crew, food, entertainment and drinks."
Cons: "Only thing that could be improved is comfort. They provide a small pillow and blanket, but even with those, it is very difficult to sleep."
Cons: "On our layover in Munich, we were at our gate, then noticed about 30 minutes prior to boarding that they’d moved us to another gate quite far away, so we hurried to the new gate, only to discover the change was an error, and we had to run back to our original gate. Made it, but annoyed."
Pros: "Large entertainment variety"
Cons: "Comfort less than desirable. Not enough sitting space. Also my luggage was left behind in Munich."
Cons: "The problem is with KAYAK. KAYAK booked us a carrier light ticket and failed to inform us at the time of the booking that it was a tariff without checked in baggage that was being offered. Fortunately, LUFTHANSA informed us of this fact at checkin and we purchased carriage with checked in baggage. This makes me wary of buying tickets through KAYAK in the future."
Cons: "The flight was delayed several times and we were kept waiting at the gate without knowing when exactly we will leave."
Pros: "The efficiency and kindness of the flight attendants made the trip enjoyable. The water service really helped with dehydration. Also, the food was EXCELLENT, which you don't often hear on a flight. My seat was comfortable and the movie and television selections was great. Will ABSOLUTELY fly with them again!"
Pros: "Flight Delayed from EWR. But the connecting flight to mumbai was not allowed to boarded. Since the gate closed even though the flight was still there. On top of it, the flight that was provided as an alternative was again with a stopover, so now, we had two stop over and extra 14 hours of layover time. Did not offer hotel stay or transit visa. was stuck in airport. Very much disappointed with Lufthansa. Will never take this flight nor will allow my friends and family to take one ever again."
Pros: "The Cabin Crew was excellent! Very impressed"
Pros: "Clean, modern place. Professional staff."
Pros: "Just fine."
Cons: "My eyes got so dry that I couldn't see very well for a few hours after landing, everything was hazy and glowing, like I had a film on my eyes. I've been on way longer flights before and I've never experienced this, it was scary."
Pros: "Friendly flight attendants, good wine, good entertainment (which I actually don't watch), beautiful airplane, A 340, especially the downstairs restrooms."
Cons: "Very uncomfortable seats, minimal leg room, mediocre food."
Pros: "They boarded back of aircraft first. They gave wine on demand. They were smiling and helpful and greeted us on entry and exit. The little things matter!"
Cons: "It was difficult to fall asleep in the seats. Uncomfortable."
Pros: "Screen monitor and flight map"
Cons: "Flight was delayed and it was kinda cramped"
Pros: "Excellent staff and organized service. Entertainment syst m standard but worked well without problems."
Cons: "Food was just OK"
Cons: "Pathetic food, and really rude crew by the standards of an international flight."
Pros: "Professionalism of the crew"
Cons: "tight sits"
Pros: "Clean plan, attentive attendants, flight was delayed 15 minutes but notified us promptly."
Pros: "Seat comfort, easy of boarding."
Pros: "Baggage handling, efficiency overall"
Cons: "Small legroom in economy"
Pros: "The seats were comfortable, we all had a bottle of water at our seats, we were immediately served drinks and snacks, the meals were really nice (haven't had this in years). Plane crew were friendly and helpful. Kids loved the entertainment selection - it kept them occupied throughout the flight in spite of their young age (3yrs and 5 yrs)."
Cons: "Baby kept most of the cabin up for three hours of a six-and-half hour flight. I know this isn't Lufthansa's fault, but they did little to help. Also, business class seats are too hard!"
Pros: "The Lufthansa service starting with the baggage checkers in Newark NJ. They provide service and a enjoyable flying experience."
Cons: "The layover in Frankfort was long and the gate we went out is in need of an upgrade but B10"
Pros: "Very professional crew !!"
Cons: "Nothing to write ."
Pros: "The crew/ service was great & clean bathrooms on the flight"
Cons: "Terrible food quality. Zero leg space. The Newark terminal is ancient & fire alarm went off for over 20min before boarding."
Pros: "The convenience of an early arrival time in Frankfurt to catch another connecting flight to my final destination"
Cons: "Lufthansa was GROSSLY late to depart, for no apparent reason, causing me to miss my connection! Lufthansa then arranged for the cheapest and LATEST flight available as an alternate connection causing me to miss a very important family event.. Very disappointed.."
Cons: "i missed this connection was put on a united flight and was bumped down from business to economy. no apologies, no effort whatsoever to make up"
Pros: "Flight was on time and uneventful. Plane was a bit cool and most passengers were required to put their jackets back on. No complaints otherwise."
Cons: "Newark is not my preferred airport. We had to leave secure area between flights. Upon reentry, security stations were undermanned and wait times were long."
Cons: "The flight was late for 2 hrs with no explanation"
Pros: "Wine was nice. Great selection of movies. The crew were extremely helpful."
Cons: "Food was a bit bland. And there was no salt or pepper to be found."
Cons: "Seats were beyond uncomfortable unless someone was shorter than 5 feet tall. Zero amenities. I know it was the economy section but our 4 tickets were close to $6000.00. A few perks would have been appreciated."
Cons: "The flight was cancelled, I waited on the service center line for over 3 hours and in the end had to take a 8hr train ride in order to get to not completly miss my sailing trip. I arrivd to my boat 10hrs late when I was scheduled to take a 1.5hr flight and would have arrived 5 hours early."
Pros: "Such a nice plane. So clean and new and professional staff."
Cons: "Boarding a little disorganized. But it was the airports fault I think."
Pros: "New airplane"
Cons: "The front seat has sharp edges at knee level. Wen the front passenger recline his seat it killed my knees."
Pros: "Great entertainment package. IFE was great, large screen, with a variety of choices. Lavatories are very spacious on A340-600 (lower deck)"
Cons: "The amount of space at the rear of the aircraft is incredibly limited. I was sitting in row 57 and due to the narrowing of the fuselage toward the back, the seats are narrower, some without arm rests and people going to the back of the aircraft keep bumping into seated passengers. Leg room as incredibly limited. This is not acceptable for a major airline. The terminal at Newark is rather old and not the cleanest. Due to the lack of clear communication, most passenger were confused at to the order of boarding."
Pros: "I was bumped up to Economy Plus which gave me lots of leg room on a half empty flight. New plane was great"
Cons: "You lost my baggage! I checked it over to domestic in Newark, but despite the 3.5 hour turnaround time you still managed to leave my bags, and those of several other people on my flight to CVG, in Newark"
Pros: "Food was good, boarding was easy, transfer in Munich very manageable"
Cons: "The seats are unusually narrow and there is no place to put your book and iPad in the seat pocket in front of you. Also, very unremarkable service"
Pros: "it was much more comfortable on the second part of the flight"
Pros: "In my experience Lufthansa is almost always on time and very professional in how they manage their flights."
Pros: "we were treated like royalty"
Cons: "Seats have too little legroom. Even pushed to back in seat, my knees pushed seat in front of me. Not on person seemed to watch entertainment, because of the program you have to sign up for. Seems like basic tv or so could be free, even if there is charge for movies."
Pros: "Comfy new seats Plenty to watch on the free in flight entertainment"
Cons: "Liked all"
Pros: "However the connecting time for MUC to HEL was bit more."
Cons: "Entertainment system did not work part of the flight"
Pros: "The crew was very pleasant and several announcements made the flight easy"
Cons: "We were late !"
Pros: "The in-flight crew was nice and accommodating, to be expected after the delay. The entertainment system had many movies that were neither dubbed into nor subtitled in English or any other language I understood (such as Goodbye, Lenin, a film I love and have seen with subtitles). The gluten-free meal was bland, perhaps to be expected but as it was my first time ordering one, I wouldn't have known what to expect."
Cons: "Worst of all was the cold, unconcerned manner of a young woman who did most of the attending the crowd of delayed passengers at the counter. I don't ask for abject deference, but she seemed unmoved by our plight and was cold bordering on unpleasant when dealing with different passengers' delay dilemmas. This young woman was American of African descent; for the record, I am as well, which made me think she just took a dislike to me, but she didn't appear to be much nicer to anyone else and just could not be bothered in the midst of the nearly three-hour delay, a major hassle for everyone including the airline. For what it's worth, her name starts with an N. (I didn't have my contacts on) Another major fail was the Lufthansa crew's assurance ahead of the flight that we would be rebooked on later flights after missing our connections. This promise was made rather breezily; clearly those making it in New York didn't have to deal with the business end of a tired, disgruntled crowd trying to cope with the fallout of missed connections. Once we got to Frankfurt, there was one lady holding a sign aloft; the sign bore the names of presumably first or business class passengers who would be shuttled to their new gates. That lady impatiently waved people from the steerage (aka economy) mob away and towards three overwhelmed Lufthansa agents helping people locate their new flights and gates. The gentleman who helped me sent me, and, I'm guessing, quite a few of my hapless fellow travellers, to gate A13 to collect my new boarding pass. Not knowing the airport at all, I followed a set of signs that took me through a monorail to an access area that - surprise! - I could not enter with my outdated boarding pass. Finally an airport official helped the group of A13-bound passengers to the Lufthansa check-in counter, where yet another Lufthansa agent disappointed in his dealing of the situation. Had I not stated that I refused to queue up or to countenance my long-suffering fellow passengers doing so, he would have had us wait in line, including one young woman about to miss a second flight. The agent at the desk was very friendly, but all in all I found the airline's responsiveness to the evolving situations of its steerage passengers (a significant chunk of its income) a great disappointment. I don't expect I'll give the airline a second chance. There's too much good service to be had from Arabian Gulf-based airlines at comparable fares."
