I was speechless that I didn't even object. In another incident, when asked for food option, I chose chicken vs pasta. When opened my hot plate after 2-3 minutes, I found out I had tofu in front of me. I called the flight attendant and they came over, acknowledged I had the wrong food just to inform me they were out of chicken at that point. If you make a mistake, please offer something in return to make the experience somewhat better."

The very first Alitalia person I tried to speak to was the very worst. Though her job was to check people in, she said she couldn't help me and to go to another counter. When I asked if she could please at least make a call to get a wheelchair (my grandfather was at the airport entry and couldn't walk) she made a terrible face, threw the papers on her desk around and said I had to go to another counter. When I went to the counter she pointed at, I was told again I would have to go to another counter. No offense to dog owners, but the animals that were traveling received better assistance."

I was disappointed that there were no hot drink e.g. coffee or tea offered at any time, not even with the meal, but this was certainly the least of our disappointments. Only once on this flight did I see a cabin crew member smile. Don't know why, but they were a most unhappy crew that day and this was conveyed to the passengers. I find this hard to believe, and perhaps both my husband and I fell asleep for the few minutes this would have taken, but neither one of us saw a crew member check for seatbelts and seat position before landing in TO. Boarding gate wasn't announced until an hour before boarding, which on an international flight from a large airport was a little stressful, but I am assuming there was a good reason for this."

This left us rushing through the airport to the very furthest gate. Boarded 20 mins late, then the flight left 1 hour late. Very expensive ticket price too!"

First bag should be free/ nominal charge or at least part of the ticket price. (It is like a restaurant charging for cutlery and plates so you can eat . Would that be acceptable??)"

Cons: "We had booked a weekend getaway, first the returned flight was cancelled and changed for a later one that didn't work for us (we couldn't get to work on time), we managed to change that for another flight the day before, shortening our vacation, then, when we got to the airport, an hour before boarding, we find out there, without warning, that the outgoing flight had been cancelled! This time it wasn't automatically changed, and there was no warning, the only solution they were giving us was an afternoon flight the other day, shortening our weekend getaway even more. After half an hour of discussion, they found and earlier flight, with connection, double the time, but that would get us there at around 2pm, so still we were missing almost half a day, but that was the best they could do. The flight was OK, boarding was late, but hey, that seems to always be the experience with this type of flights. I would just say they are not very reliable, having both your outbound and inbound flights cancelled, seems to much, specially if you're just going for a short getaway, you may end up having a one-day getaway!"

I agree that these things might occur but the airline has to take responsibility for their mistakes and address the issues. WORST airline I've been to, if you are thinking of using it I double insure everything and don't count on them to be responsive!"

The "E ticket" didnt have: Terminal Carrier i.e. Air Italia The flight numbers Any record or reference number the airline(s) could use. Could not purchase a bag and had to pay extra at the airport Whilst clearing security Air France pulled me out of line found me to be 1 killo over, and air Italia demanded another 75 euros. Not the first time this has happened. I pointed out numerous french people passing with very heavy bags and indeed helped several women lift 20+ kilo bags on the flight into the overhead bin on this flight and others. They all were french and never were they stopped with their heavy bags "Oh" the "security" guy said "I thought you were English!" "Not so" said this Irishman "And you are racist". To no avail and all part of Air france's business plan to charge the dreaded Estranger extra. Never again will I fly Air France. Id rather take a train, drive or even walk. Very bad experience start to finish and yes so very Air France; well Air Italia too.."

Cons: "My wife and I were slightly late to our return flight to Boston. When we arrived we were told that we would not be able to board because of our need to check a bag. We have the same bag that we have flown all over the world without the need for checking. Seems like it would be wise to indicate that Alitalia does not follow industry standard for checked bags when purchasing ticket. We were forced to purchase entirely new tickets for our flight back home, this is an unacceptable business practice. The up charge on the late purchased ticket was outrageous and we were sat next to the toilets which was disgusting!! Pros: "AlItalia Flight 629 was operated by Airbus A330-200, which is a smaller version of A300 family. The seats were comfortable with enough legroom. The service was OK: there was no cocktail service, but only a dinner, which was surprisingly tasty. Alcohol-wise they served only wine in coach, which was also available throughout the flight at the self-service station by the galley, Overall, I would rate the my flight as just Okay."
Cons: "The flight was delayed over 80 minutes due to "the wait for necessary paperwork," as the pilot has stated. During the wait for the departure, the a/c was off and it was very hot, stuffy and uncomfortable on board the plane. As a result of the delay, I barely made my connecting flight, and there were many passengers that missed their connecting flights."
