Pros: "Thought they screwed up twice, the airline had great customer service and tried their best to give me a good itinerary once I called them back. With the lost luggage, they ultimately delivered my bag to the hotel I was staying at. On my return flight I flew business class. They did a great job all around."
Cons: "I booked a direct flight from JFK (NYC) to Cartagena (Colombia) and a few days out from my flight I got a notification from AVIANCA that my itinerary had changed from a 5 hr trip to a 24hr trip with not one but two 8-hour layovers before reaching my destination the next day! I called the Airline and they set me up with a new flight, that was not direct, with a single layover. Once I got to my final destination, I came to find that my checked bag had been left at my previous layover."

Cons: "Please see my previous review for my updated itinerary. This Panama City --> Cartagena flight did not happen and instead I was routed to Chicago--> Newark --> Bogota --> Cartagena. The last flight was operated by Avianca. DUE TO the fact that my very last, 55-minute, domestic flight in Colombia was operated by Avianca, it was to my very unpleasant surprise that United decided they were not going to be responsible for the bag which was left behind IN CHICAGO. I emphasize it's in Chicago, because that would not fall under Avianca's responsibility but rather United. I've had an absolutely awful time trying to get in touch with United and Avianca customer service, I've received both conflicting and incorrect/untrue information from both parties, and it's been 4 days now that instead of enjoying my family vacation I've been trying to sort this mess out with my missing luggage. DISASTROUS"

This WAS NOT theft but rather some rough handling causing items to fall out. This I understand will be down to the baggage crews and not the airline itself."

The extent of it we didn't realize until unpacking the suitcases later. Totally disgusted they could have left our suitcase in the rain uncovered (or perhaps dropped them in a puddle)."

After hassle, i thought i received a perfect flight which would get me to my destination A WEDDING at that in time. However, i have been rebooked over 5x in under 24hrs and still at the airport from 9hrs later! They do not compensate you and do not even extend the offer!"

As originally planned I would have arisen at 0500, still early, but not nearly 0300. The equipment had no individual entertainment screens. So we were stuck with whatever was on the common screen...which was bad."

When a company called can make billions of dollars doing this, it's just taking advantage of the little people."

Cons: "Our flight had a "mechanical delay" which drug on for several hours (every 30 min there would be another 30 min delay). This eventually meant we would miss our connection to Munich and had to be rescheduled to the following day. The next day we had another round of "mechanical delays" and just barely made the connection."

They put my daughters safety at risk with such lack of compassion. Caused such unbelievable stress and chaos. I will continue to tell everyone I know how horrible this was. Flight delayed multiple hours after my ride departed and stranded at airport for fourteen hours with no food or beverage comps, or even kindness from the their agents. Was told "oh well, weather". I had left my remaining cash (and didn't bring my card) with my lady friend to get the kids some nice things (she is driving back on a seperate day and was already two hours away by the time we found out flight wasn't happening in time) and absolutely zero compassion given by United. Also, required to add an 80 dollar uber when I get home because there will be no ride as my orginal ride can't make it. May also have to call out of work. Not even an offer to bump my seat on next flight to close to the cabin or exit row. Two hours on phone with customer service with no offers of even slight compensation even when this entire situation is explained. I get it. I agreed to terms of service, but your service sucked and is costing me an armful of money at this point, wouldn't it be in the slightest interest of theirs to give me a meal, or a room or even a lousy coffee?"

When I treated to involve the media about their scam they said they would refund me the $95.75 but who would believe a con scam company. And as for Kayak to allow this company to prey on it's users. ...Kayak you suck and I will never use your service ever again. The word will spread about this!!!"

I will NEVER EVER EVER fly with Spirit again. And if the only way to get somewhere is with them, I will drive or take the Greyhound."

The crew was so rude and when I wanted to buy food they wouldn't except cash only cards. WHO DOESNT TAKE CASH?! Its pure money. So I went hungry for 5 hours."

In addition, I was charged for a carry-on bag that I did not have. The staff was nice enough to correct this error, but I was still charged for the bag that I did not have!"

Offering a flight to Barranquilla with no reimbursement for bus back to my final destination, Cartagena was absurd. No water or refreshments offered in spite of all delays. Cons: "You think you are getting a good deal but they nickel and dime you for everything. They charge $40.00 for carry on and that's if you paid online otherwise at airport it's twice as much. The plane broke down at take off...took them forever to have a mechanic look at it once we got back to gate. Had to de plane and wait 30 min for them to cancel flight. All 200 passengers were sent down to ticket counter where most of us waited for 5 hours or better bc they were understaffed and EVERY person who walked away was very upset. Wouldn't refund all of fares people paid and many of us couldn't get onto other flights. I have never experienced any thing like it in all my years of travel. Was at airport for 7 hours. Unacceptable! Dispicable. Was my first and last experience w Spirit."
Cons: "I booked a roundtrip flight between NY and Detroit, intending to leave last Saturday morning and return on Sunday evening. I received a confirmation email from Kayak saying that my return flight was on the same day. I checked online at Spirit to see that my return flight was indeed at the correct time I intended (Sunday evening). However, I kept getting flight confirmation emails from Kayak saying my return flight was on Saturday. I tried calling Spirit and Kayak to get this fixed - as it made me worried I didn't have the right flight booked - and could not get any help. I was able to talk with someone about the return flight mixup, but they just promised me a new confirmation email with correct flight times - I never received this email or any relief that my flights were booked properly until I actually got to the airport. That was immensely frustrating and I spent way too much time on hold trying to sort this out."
