Avianca decided to strand a bunch of passengers at 2am and the reason was that the pilot was "sick." When we asked to be switched to a different flight so we would not have to wait until 2pm the next day, they eventually booked us on an early flight. We stayed in the airport overnight in anticipation of this flight. The next morning they informed us 10 minutes before boarding that they delayed that flight so we could no longer make our connection. We had to spend 15 hours total in Bogota airport before being able to go home. Avianca used to never be this inconsistent with flights. They should not be allowed to do whatever they wish to passengers flights and offer minimal compensation when they inconvenience customers.

The in flight staff was very friendly

Our 2nd flight was changed by the airline, causing us to have a 6 hour layover in Philadelphia instead of a 2 hour layover. Then when we ask about changing to a different flight they told us that the original flight we were supposed to be on (that we booked over 8 months ago) was completely full so that’s why we were moved, and there were no other flights available to switch to. So we accepted that. But when we printed our boarding passes, we saw that our seats were now separate from each other, and they were both middle seats! I don’t understand how booking my tickets so far in advance still resulted in these issues. We were finally able to get an aisle and window seat (not near each other) but both flights had poor to little entertainment, which I wouldn’t have expected on such long flights with American Airlines. Really was letdown. :(

Crew was friendly and responsive. Gate crew kept passengers informed of the delays. Flight itself was ok.

Flight ETD was 8:25 but plane developed a mechanical problem. After about 20 minutes waiting for maintenance the Captain decided to go back to the gate for fuel and repairs. After maintenance came on board the decision was made to deplane. Finally, a plane from Chicago was scheduled to take us to San Diego. After boarding at about 12:30, it was discovered that catering never loaded food. We waited for over an hour for food to be delivered. At close to 2pm the Captain, who kept us aware of what was going on, asked us if we would agree to leave without a full delivery of food, and all agreed. So by 2pm we were finally enroute to San Diego but having a seat in the back meant we only got to eat what was left, which for me, was a small cheese pack.

All the food were terribly salty, inedible because the beef was hard like rock, I was unable to eat or chew. The sauce was salty and terrible so threw them away. In general, the food were inedible and poorly prepared that means they were not considerate and discreet about cooking, selecting material,too. The airline only pick the terribly cheap meat to scam and mistreat the passengers. I felt I was ripped off and sadden.

Worst flight ever. Couldn't be any less happy. F*** this airline. Will never use again. Ruined my vacation, thanks a lot.

Everything is good except our lunch as described below.

They ran out of chicken breast in our lunch packages, so the stewardess went back to get it. After 10 minutes she still did not show up, we turned on the help light, and still no one came. Finally she passed by and we reminded her the 2 chicken breast lunch packs, she said : "Sorry, I've forgotten about them" and ran back to get them for us.

We booked a flight in December to meet my daughter and son in law in Cancun on Avianca. We have not traveled very much internationally and wanted to schedule our flights to arrive close to the time my daughter and son-in-law were arriving from Colorado to Cancun on their flight. We had booked this flight especially because of the closeness of the two arrival times. When we got to the airport to check in for flight we were told that the flight was overbooked and that we were being put on a Aeromexico flight that had to go through Mexico City with an arrival time in Cancun that was 4 to 5 Later than originally planned. My daughter and son-in-law were just about to board their flight in Denver to Cancun and had to scramble to arrange transportation to be able to meet us at the airport so that they didn’t have to wait for five hours in Cancun for us. We were only compensated with $14 that expired the same day to use in the airport for a wat later than originally planned. My daughter and son-in-law war just about to board their flight in Denver to Cancun and had to scramble to arrange transportation to be able to meet us at the airport so that they didn’t have to wait for five hours in Cancun for us. I had to put up with *loud* banter from 2 flight attendants at the back of the plane throughout the entire flight, which was freakin' annoying to say the least. I'm NOT interested which pilot or male attendant you find cute or want to make out with. You also really shouldn't laugh at passengers' faces after telling them to resume their seat to the upright position. A real shame since their performance "on the floor" was perfect.

A rating of one start is too much for this airline. Avianca caused me to miss my flight in LAX, refused to help me reach my ultimate destination for which I paid them hundreds of dollars to do, nor did they offer to credit my losses for which they were responsible. Customer Service was as useless as the individuals in person that I dealt with. I never made it to my destination because I was forced to return home to San Francisco, unable to see my wife-to-be in Brasil. I will never fly with this airline again.

Check in and boarding went very smoothly. The crew was very attentive. They came through the cabin several times with the drink cart. And after dinner was served, gave everyone a bottle of water. Good choice of movies, food was good and the light breakfast was actually very filling. Excellent croissants. Overall great flight.

We booked a flight in December to meet my daughter and son in law in Cancun on Avianca. We have not traveled very much internationally and wanted to schedule our flights to arrive close to the time my daughter and son-in-law were arriving from Colorado to Cancun on their flight. We had booked this flight especially because of the closeness of the two arrival times. When we got to the airport to check in for flight we were told that the flight was overbooked and that we were being put on a Aeromexico flight that had to go through Mexico City with an arrival time in Cancun that was 4 to 5 Later than originally planned. My daughter and son-in-law were just about to board their flight in Denver to Cancun and had to scramble to arrange transportation to be able to meet us at the airport so that they didn’t have to wait for five hours in Cancun for us. We were only compensated with $14 that expired the same day to use in the airport for a wat later than originally planned. My daughter and son-in-law war just about to board their flight in Denver to Cancun and had to scramble to arrange transportation to be able to meet us at the airport so that they didn’t have to wait for five hours in Cancun for us. We were only compensated with $14 that expired the same day to use in the airport for lunch. We will never use Avianca again it was a terrible experience all around. Although Aeromexico was a fantastic airline and the service was excellent with them. I would highly recommend Aeromexico if you were thinking about traveling in central America or Mexico.

Entertainment only in Spanish is very poor for a long haul flight, as there were many English on board to Heathrow. When questioning this we were simply told it was technical, nothing could be done.

Avianca decided to strand a bunch of passengers at 2am and the reason was that the pilot was "sick." When we asked to be switched to a different flight so we would not have to wait until 2pm the next day, they eventually booked us on an early flight. We stayed in the airport overnight in anticipation of this flight. The next morning they informed us 10 minutes before boarding that they delayed that flight so we could no longer make our connection. We had to spend 15 hours total in Bogota airport before being able to go home. Avianca used to never be this inconsistent with flights. They should not be allowed to do whatever they wish to passengers flights and offer minimal compensation when they inconvenience customers.

Landed in Canada to let off a "sick" passenger, sat there for hours and after the pilot made countless excuses, including needing to refuel, needing a new route, and needing to de-ice the plane, he finally announced that we're headed all the way back to Newark for some unknown reason. Worst flight ever. Couldn't be any less happy. F*** this airline. Will never use again. Ruined my vacation, thanks a lot.

Good selection of films as usual.

I had to put up with *loud* banter from 2 flight attendants at the back of the plane throughout the entire flight, which was freakin' annoying to say the least. I'm NOT interested which pilot or male attendant you find cute or want to make out with. You also really shouldn't laugh at passengers' faces after telling them to resume their seat to the upright position. A real shame since their performance "on the floor" was perfect.

the flight attendants and service were amazing and perfect. The green tea from All Nippon Airline was awesome.

All the food were terribly salty, inedible because the beef was hard like rock, I was unable to eat or chew. The sauce was salty and terrible so threw them away. In general, the food were inedible and poorly prepared that means they were not considerate and discreet about cooking, selecting material,too. The airline only pick the terribly cheap meat to scam and mistreat the passengers. I felt I was ripped off and sadden.

Crew was friendly and responsive. Gate crew kept passengers informed of the delays. Flight itself was ok.

Flight ETD was 8:25 but plane developed a mechanical problem. After about 20 minutes waiting for maintenance the Captain decided to go back to the gate for fuel and repairs. After maintenance came on board the decision was made to deplane. Finally, a plane from Chicago was scheduled to take us to San Diego. After boarding at about 12:30, it was discovered that catering never loaded food. We waited for over an hour for food to be delivered. At close to 2pm the Captain, who kept us aware of what was going on, asked us if we would agree to leave without a full delivery of food, and all agreed. So by 2pm we were finally enroute to San Diego but having a seat in the back meant we only got to eat what was left, which for me, was a small cheese pack.

A rating of one start is too much for this airline. Avianca caused me to miss my flight in LAX, refused to help me reach my ultimate destination for which I paid them hundreds of dollars to do, nor did they offer to credit my losses for which they were responsible. Customer Service was as useless as the individuals in person that I dealt with. I never made it to my destination because I was forced to return home to San Francisco, unable to see my wife-to-be in Brasil. I will never fly with this airline again.

The crew was wonderful - professional, thoughtful, and lively!

The seats were so squished that it was difficult to get comfortable, especially on an overnight flight. Alas, this is now true of all air travel.

Check in and boarding went very smoothly. The crew was very attentive. They came through the cabin several times with the drink cart. And after dinner was served, gave everyone a bottle of water. Good choice of movies, food was good and the light breakfast was actually very filling. Excellent croissants. Overall great flight.
